College Travel Scholarship Winner

The weekends are getting warmer and sunnier and ripe for a roadtrip to visit some college campuses. Why not let your next college visit be covered by Cappex? We’re giving away another Cappex College Tour Scholarship this month, so make sure you apply.

We are pleased to announce that Christina H. from Ventura, Calif., is the winner of the College Tour Scholarship for March. She will receive $500 to help her visit prospective colleges. Christina loves the arts, and we love that she gets out in her community to share her passion. If you’ve got a talent, don’t just use it in high school. Get out and influence your world!

Congrats Christina! Don’t forget: April 30 is the deadline for the next College Travel Scholarship. Apply today!

Hardship Scholarship Winner Announced

We received lots of touching and interesting essays and letters from folks applying for the Cappex Hardship Scholarship. It’s safe to say that Cappex students are a resilient, persistent group. Our $2,000 scholarship winner distinguished herself with her great perspective. “There are positives from every hardship,” she writes.

That outlook will take anyone a long way. Wherever you’re headed there will be hurdles to overcome.

And our winner didn’t simply make it through high school. She’s excelled. She has a 4.0 GPA, was junior class president and is a mentor to younger teens. Outstanding!

Because of what she’s done, we’re happy to award Amy S. all the way out in Anchorage, Alaska our Hardship Scholarship. Congrats Amy!

February College Travel Scholarship Winner

Time and time again, students told us that the most critical part of finding and choosing the right college is the visit. But visiting colleges can get costly, so last fall Cappex created the College Travel Scholarship to help students visit potential colleges. It’s been a huge success with 14 students taking home awards that they can take on the road.

Now Cappex is doubling the money for the award. And we are pleased to announce the first winner of the $500 College Travel Scholarship is Elizabeth H. from Ringgold, Ga.

Congratulations Elizabeth! Everyone else stay tuned. We’ll be giving out a College Travel Scholarship each month.

Return of the Cappex Scholarship Winners

This blog post is the biggest, tastiest, scholarship sandwich you’ve ever seen. It took us a while, but we are ready to announce the winner of the $5,000 Cappex College Scholarship. This is the largest single scholarship Cappex has ever awarded.

But first, the appetizer: The winner of the Cappex Promoter Scholarship is Vi T. of Corona, Calif. Vi is a swim team captain who put in lots of laps to sign up students from across the country. This girl knows lots of people in lots of places. For her efforts, she’ll take home $2,000 for college.

Her friends are cashing in too. For signing up through Vi, Sarah B., from Kenedy, Texas, will also receive $1,000.

Congrats Sarah and Vi!

And now, the main course. Can you wait any longer? No? OK, here it is:

Rachel G.from Elmhurst, Ill., is the winner of the Cappex College Scholarship!

At first glance, Rachel looks like a lot of high school students: Plays basketball, has good grades, maybe wants to be a doctor. But a closer look at her profile shows she is taking it all to the next level. She’s done the spectacular, like spending a month working at an orphanage in Ghana. But she is a leader closer to home, too. She doesn’t just play basketball, she teaches others the sport, volunteering at camps and working with younger children.

Great work Rachel! Congratulations!

Thank you to everyone who applied. These decisions weren’t easy. It took us more than a month to review all the fascinating applicants. If you didn’t take home a scholarship there are still lots of Cappex college scholarships for which you can apply.

Scholarship Winners: The Sequel!

We’re back, and we’ve got lots of money for college going to some very deserving students.

First up, the winner of the “I Don’t Want to Pay for College” Scholarship. Because, really, why pay for college when you don’t have to?

The winner is Robert H. of Cohoes, N.Y. Robert’s got big plans to start his own business when he graduates. Robert, consider this your first bit of seed money.

Our College Travel winners for January are: Jennifer S. of Minneapolis, Minn., and Wrijoya R. of Columbus, Miss. They will each receive money to visit a potential college. The scholarship is just another way that Cappex helps students find the right college fit. Travel safely.

Congratulations, everybody. We’ve still got three more college scholarship winners to announce, including the $5,000 Cappex College Scholarship. As a game show host might say, there’s still lots of big money out there.
