There are thousands of possible reasons that students are willing to pay thousands of dollars for someone else to be them. Although none of them are quite so acceptable and really quite selfish.

1. They cannot take the pressure of the SAT. (as everyone else did)
2. They did not feel confident. (not many people do)
3. They wanted a good score. (doesn’t everyone)
4. They didn’t want to study. (I have never heard anyone that wanted to study)
5. They were just too lazy. (-potatocouch-)
6. They had money to spare. (how else can you do this?)

Really, the reasons mentioned are few among the thousands. There just are people in the world that wants everything handed to them without difficulty over it, without sweating over it,and without fearing it.

I can see that the students were in a lot of stress and pressure that it would be easy to sub come to per pressure. But I could never cheat due to I want to do the right example and I believe in working hard for your grade, or score. And if I were the other people taking the test I would be mad at them, also think about the teachers who now must not have much trust in them. Now their reputations are ruined. Is all this worth it? Noway!!!!!!!

Sad their parents would pay the money rather than help them study and believe in their children to succeed. Those kids will never know what they could have done had they tried! Where the parents going to pay someone to do the work at college too???? If you can’t get in on your own, chances are, you won’t survive the work load!!

The world is getting lazier every day. People just want now days , and now willing to give the effort needed… What’s sad is that its not even a pass or fail…

I have to agree with Shannon here. I also would like to add that less and less people are taught morals, values, and consequences of their actions. A lot of people get away with stuff so often that people think it is “ok” to do it. I understand the stress behind getting into college, but what are you going to do when you get there if you cheated to get in? Cheating does not help people succeed, hard work and determination does. I would never pay someone to do my school work for me (tests included).

I would agree that the stress for high scores to get into colleges would probably create enough stress for some people to pay someone to “be them” on test day. However, it is utterly wrong and dishonest (obviously). I would like to see how this plays out, and how much more difficulr it makes “test day” for those in the future because of the ignorance of others. There is a great amount of stress placed on students to achieve high standards, but what is getting caught essentially cheating going to do for a future?

Are they really that dumb? If you study hard, and can focus on the test you can get a good score. I took the ACT four times, and improved every time and got into my top university.

No, I would use those thousands of dollars just to pay for college, instead of risking getting caught.
