Actually, semester students are in class less.
At least compared to Willamette U.

3 hrs./week for 15 weeks
3*15=45

Typical quarter college like Bellevue College or University of Washington:
5 hrs./week for 10 weeks
5*10=50

The reason we may be in class more is: study sessions, ability to schedule more class periods (if necessary).

I love the quarter system. I like that we learn so much in a shorter amount of time. It keeps things from getting boring and so there's no desire to slack off mid-term.

Just to clarify, Ohio State University will not be on the quarter system next academic year. They are making the transition this year.

Also, this one year I've had on the quarter system has been really nice. I think I like quarters better than semesters because it makes school go SO much faster.
