    Be conscientious; sleep, eat right, study, go to (and pay attention during) class. Work hard. Also, if you're going to be in Marching Band, do not fear the kilt. Alma in general is not as scary as it may seem.

    The first year is going to be hard, no matter what college you go to. If you talk to the Student and Opportunities center here, I promise you that they will do everything they can to help you. If financials are a problem, talk to the financial aide office. Everyone here wants you to stay, but more than that they want you to enjoy your stay and get as much from the college as you can.

    If you play bagpipes, then apply at Alma! We have a pipe band that is 100% (except for the instructor) student based. There is no other college or university that has the same specifications. Interested in the UN? Alma has a highly accredited Model UN team that has won on multiple occasions.
