    1. Make friends with the staff and don't be afraid to ask for their help. If you are like me, you will be there a while so it will pay off to have a support system on your side when you need it. 2. As freshman, especially if you are living in the dorms, get involved and take advantage of free activities on campus. Living in the dorms can suck at times so you need to make the best of it by getting out and eating as much free food as you can. 3. Get a flash drive and organize it by semester and classes so you can easily go back and access past assignments.

You have to enjoy writing papers and giving speeches. There isn't multiple choice or true/ false exams. You will be applying what you have learned throughout the semester in one BIG project. Group work is a huge part of the way the classes are performed.

Talk to your teachers often they will help you not only understand the information you are learning but will help you know where you stand in your classes. They will also continue to support you and offer you advice way after your classes are done. Also get involved in the Alverno community. You never know who you will meet or what knowledge you may gain, all while having lots of fun!

Tips for prospective Alverno College students would be to stay on top of homework. I am a nursing major and classes are busy and have a lot of content in them, if you stay ahead of studying, reading and assignments you will be successful. Another tip I would give to a prospective Alverno College student would definitely be to attend class, unlike most colleges attendance is required and it is hard to be successful if you are not attending classes.
