    I think the advantages are study abroad and internships in DC, they also have cool speakers and adjuncts all the time. I thiink a college that has high job prospects and research opportunities is worth more than one with equal education level, but without all the connections this place seems to have.

    American is not cheap, and the financial aid office is not as understanding as they let on. Make sure to survey all your options financially before making the jump. Also make sure to stand strong when they try to hassle you about things.

    Being a private school, it's expensive to attend. However, if you can get financial aid from the university it kicks some serious butt. AU ended up being my cheapest school to attend after I receiving my financial aid package, making it the best and most affordable fit for me. But the resources are incredible, and the professors are top notch.

    American University is a hefty price tag being a private school. Unless you are interested in government, international relations, or law, you should go somewhere else. The school's math and science department is placed on the backburner, so save your money and go elsewhere if you intend to be an engineer or pre med student
