    Great for these types of students

    Those looking for a very diverse community. Those wanting a spiritual campus to grow on. Those wanting a good arts and education program.
    Tips for prospective students

    Ladies, dorm rooms are small! If you can find a option to live off campus, I would recommend it. Make sure to get all your classes registered as soon as you can so you can get into the ones you'd like. And make good use of the resources that are offered! Use your advisors as much as you can!
    Bang for the buck

    Compared to many colleges, this is a very prestigious school, especially among Adventist universities. There are many class options and advisors are very helpful. As a current student, I don't feel like my money is being wasted. iVue online is a very helpful resource for registering.
    Am enjoying being here

    Berrien Springs is a small town, and so if you do not have a car, keeping things interesting can be hard. Benton Harbor is only fifteen minuets north, and Mischawaka is about half an hour to forty five minuets south, and has a very large mall and many nice places to eat. The shore of Lake Michigan isn't far and is a nice place to relax. However, there are many inter mural sports, many ministry groups, and many clubs that have different activities. While the activities that the Student Association puts on aren't many, they are normally very well done.
    Am learning a lot

    The opportunity to learn is definitely obvious at Andrews University. The options are numerous. Classes are challenging and, for the most part, engaging.

    Great for these types of students

    Andrews is great for those who are looking for a very diverse college. It is a good school for those who have a major within communication. And it is also a good school for those that want to strengthen their relationship with God.
    Tips for prospective students

    It is a good idea to get involved in something on campus; it can be a club, sports team, or an outreach ministry. It is good to get involved because it gives you something constructive to do when you're not studying, and it is a good way to make friends. I also recommend that new students apply for jobs on campus, especially jobs within their major. That way they are gaining some experience and networking at the same time. If you are shy, really push yourself to branch out and meet new people. If you are a really dedicated student, that's great, but make sure that you make some time for friends. No matter what your personality may be like, just be sure to keep some balance in your life. You don't want to cause yourself too much stress from taking on too much, but you don't want to fall behind in your studies either. So just try to schedule your time well, and make the best of your college years.

    Yes, Andrews University is quite expensive, but the education is worth it. There are many opportunities for students to start networking in their prospective careers with people who can truly help them. And when you come here it is like you are becoming a part of a big family. There are many teachers and advisers who will really take an interest in your life and try to help you to become all that you can be.

    Andrews University is located in Berrien Springs, MI, which is a very small town. There is no form of public transportation here, so it is helpful to have a car. Although, there are always exciting events going on around campus, such as: sports events, open gym/volleyball night, Splash for Cash, The Labor Day Blast, and other fun school events. I enjoy being here because you get to make great friendships that will last a lifetime.
    Am learning a lot

    Andrews University provides a wide range of classes. They have fairly small classes, which means that the teacher can give each student the proper attention. There are a lot of hands on learning opportunities, and many opportunities to study abroad. Not only do they provide a quality education for you to grow in knowledge, but they also provide a great spiritual environment for you to grow closer to God.

    Campus Safety

    Campus safety is very strict and does their utmost best to provide student safety. Cameras and patrols are consistent and curfew is adhered to.
    Clubs and Activities

    Not many clubs in Berrien Springs but South Bend will provide that, or Chicago. Activities are everywhere, so long as you look for it!
    Bang for the buck

    Great place for education and to get your degree and to have Chicago in driving distance this place is ideal for those who wish to receive a good academic program and enjoy the city.
    What to do for fun

    Movies, going out to eat. Going to South Bend is a great way to get away from the campus. Chicago is a 2 hour drive that is a great city.
    Food and Dining

    Food and dining is consisted of a buffet style. Beneath the cafeteria is the Gazebo where they offer snacks and other refreshments the cafeteria does not provide.
    Dorm Life

    Brotherhood of men or sisterhood of women, dorm life is fun, interactive and provides a chance socialize and grow.
    Academic Rigor

    Academics is very important and key here at Andrews University. All departments have staff and professors who are willing to assist you in any way to make your academic learning a success.

    Andrews is not an easy University. Study hard and focus and keep an open mind.

    Very good University; Andrews is referred to as the pinnacle of Adventist education and has very high standards. Andrews is not only a great school for those who are Adventists but for all. Programs are excellent and classes are well taught.

    They have campus safety, the school is pretty small. They start checking I.D. cards when people try to enter the campus after 11.pm. (freshmen curfew)
    Clubs and Activities

    The clubs just take your money and try to add in a hoodie sometimes while you end up paying for it anyway in the long run. The clubs don't do anything, Research any club before you join, their out for your money

    -This school is very diverse! people from all 50 states and countries. Since this is a Seventh-Day Adventist college, they have a lot of diverse churches for Saturday keepers. - We have mandatory worships we have to go to through out the semester & chapels every thursday -International Food Fair is really good -Passion Play is really Good
    Bang for the buck

    Honestly, when you go to this school, your really settling, settling for less that is, there are so many better colleges/universities out there with real social activities and have a better college experience to offer. Don't do it to yourself I advise, its not fair to you. The tuition is 32,000 with dorming and it is not worth your money & they barely offer scholarships. But its every mans own experience.
    What to do for fun

    -Find the right friends, that's the only way to make it through socially, the school is a bore & they charge money for on-school activities, (who does that?) -If you don't have a car, life as you know it will be completely unsatisfying, there is nothing in our area, so better make friends fast. Every good thing is in the state of Indiana, the state next to Michigan, not Michigan itself.
    Food and Dining

    So they believe in the SDA health message therefore: The cafe only serves Vegan or Vegetarian Food -Nothing with caffeine is on our campus -The food is reallyy good, when they try, it gets really routined though, like reallllllyyyy. you start to loose appetite but yet your hungry. -McDonalds, taco bell, & pizza hut outside of our school, but you get tired of that too.
    Dorm Life

    -Lamson Hall (ALL girls dorm; of every age) is bug infested, so watch out for centipedes, ants, and nats. -In order to sleep else where than the dorm, your parent has to call and approve your request with the dorm deans. -Bunk beds in every room, The rooms are really small & you and your roommate share a closet (walk-in, but very small). -The sink in the room looks like its about to break off and like its floating on the wall. -Have to pay for laundry $1.25 for washing & $1.00 for drying, machines suck btw.
    Academic Rigor

    -The teachers are really nice, talk to them when you have the chance, they'll listen. -Advisers sometimes mess people up, so beware (they always want students to stay for 5 years!!)
    Tips for prospective students

    -The teachers are really nice, getting to know them can really influence your grade. - Don't procrastinate with your work, it always catches up to you sooner than expected.

    -It is a very uplifting school & the worships are amazing. -Michigan is a very depressing state to live in, the sun never comes out in the winter. -The school is really small, and there's not much to do there outside of classes.

    Andrews University is determined to be a diverse community with students from all over the world. Even if you are from down the street, it is a great chance to make lasting friendships and network with future business owners and coworkers from across the globe. Those who are most likely to thrive at Andrews are the ones who get out of their rooms and make friends and get involved. No matter who you are, you will find your niche here at Andrews University.
    Tips for prospective students

    Get involved. Andrews University offers hundreds of opportunities to show off your talents in sports teams, song leadership, organizations, art, music, intramurals, acting, public speaking, the school newspaper, yearbook, photography, and many others. The dorm rooms are relatively small but with an eye for design, you will soon call it your home. The meal plan is expensive, the food overpriced, and we all complain about it, but you always have the option of picking healthy foods or junk food and only the vending machines are accessible for midnight snacks. One positive, if you really hate the food, there is a kitchen on every floor of Lamson Hall (the women's dorm). Last but not least, bring a bunch of quarters for laundry or make a friend who lives in the community who will let you do laundry at their place, mom is not around anymore.

    In comparison to other schools, Andrews University offers an amazing amount of opportunities and their rates are similar to other private universities. They offer fairly substantial financial help through the school’s scholarships although you have to watch out for the extra fees such as labs, textbooks, graduation costs, cafeteria meal plan, club fees, and outings; although these can be found at any school you attend.
    Am enjoying being here

    Even though the main goal is classes and studying, we all enjoy our extracurricular activities. The campus itself contains a swimming pool, tennis courts, basketball courts, soccer field, running track, rock wall, raquetball courts, and health clubs for the physically active bunch, and a state of the art music hall featuring artists from all over the world, several art galleries, and a ceramics room for the artsy types. If you need to take a break from campus, you can enjoy the biking/hiking trails in the woods, find the Lake Michigan shoreline twelve miles away, go ice skating in St. Joe, or to the mall in Mishawaka. The city of Chicago is only a two hour drive, Detroit three hours, South Bend thirty minutes, and Grand Rapids an hour and a half, perfect for the long weekends which are scheduled once a month.
    Am learning a lot

    Going into my sixth semester here at Andrews University, I have found that my knowledge has increased exponentially and not simply in the classroom setting. The classes are engaging, challenging, and interactive and the teachers are always willing to work time into their schedule to meet with you if you need help or just to talk. With all of the different programs, chapels, clubs, and worships, you are bound to be challenged by a new opinion and learn new facts about the world around you.

    there are so many activities on campus it is hard to keep up with everything that is going on! there are more than ten options for vespers, as well as ethnic clubs, departmental clubs, and clubs dedicated to causes.

    in the wintertime, it has been the tradition to take cafeteria trays and go sledding down the long and steep hill called pathfinder hill.
    What to do for fun

    for fun, you can jump from towering concrete pileons into the st. joseph river at the nearby wolf's prairie park. on sunny days, lake michigan is a perfect place to be. just twenty minutes away, the shore of lake michigan offers a lovely beach complete with lighthouses and lakeside boutiques.

    bon appetite is caterer for andrews university. they focus on providing healthy food that is bought from local vendors.
    Dorm Life

    bring an extra blanket! while the heat is on during the winter, the fluctuating temperatures of michigan may leave you wanting an extra layer! dorm activities bring residents together around movies, cookies, and games.
    Academic Rigor

    teachers at andrews university have a variety of teaching style and are firm believers in interdisciplinary work. a science class may take you to a museum, an english class may take you to the shakespeare theater in chicago, and a religion class may take you to the mountains of peru.

    be prepared to be challenged intellectually. the goal of professors at andrews university is to make you think, and think hard! also, bring snow gear.

    None- No Fraternities or Sororities are allowed/active on Andrews University campus.
    Clubs and Activities

    Many clubs of a cultural, religious, and social nature. No Fraternities or Sororities are allowed to function on campus or as a part of Andrews University. No hazing, etc. is allowed either.

    As with many private church based colleges and Universities it is required that students attend Chapel services.
    What to do for fun

    There are activities on campus as well as some shopping in nearby towns, the larger being S. Bend Indiana, where Notre Dame is located.

    The cafeteria is strictly vegetarian with a nice offering of choices. There are specific hours for the cafeteria. Local dining is available, yet somewhat limited. Small town with somewhat limited options, which include Taco Bell, La Baguette ( a french sandwich shoppe), Pizza Hut, and a few other diners.

    Though it is rigorous, the professors are accessible and helpful. Tutoring is also available through the school.

    Sorry, I never tried out the dorms, but I believe they are not co-ed.

    Depending on the program, school can be quite rigorous.

    Living in the ladies dorm is a wonderful experience, there's plenty of activities in the dorm to help build lasting friendships, there's an awesome work-out room, and the deans are great.

    Some classes are extremely hard for their class level. Some freshman classes are almost on the graduate level. Other classes are really simple and fun.
    Tips for prospective students

    Be careful not to be persuaded to take too many credits or work too much. Focus on your class work not on the myriad of clubs on campus.

    Andrews was a great campus filled with lots of friendly people. Perfect for the person that wants a semi-spiritual living environment. Most of the professors are very friendly and do what they can to help you succeed.

    There are plenty of clubs to join. Most clubs have event that you can participate in as a member. They also often welcome non-members to come along and experience what they are missing out on. Most clubs also often offer food at club meetings

    There are sometimes events on the weekends. Helps to have a group of people you can tolerate because you will get bored often and friends help entertain you.

    Food choices are limited and you quickly and you quickly become tired of the lack of variation. The Gazebo has added more variation throughout the years.

    Most of the people that reside in the girls dorm are friendly. The deans are cool.
    Academic Rigor

    Its hard to really judge the academic rigor because it just depends on the teacher and subject, but no matter how hard it gets there is support everywhere

    Andrews University pushes you in your academics. They have a helpful staff, who push you to reach your fullest potential. If you don't mind being isolated from any major cities or you don't mind paying for gas then you may enjoy it here.

    It is very expensive, but its quality education, in a very nice sophisticated, safe environment. I just don't like how sometimes it seems like they are just trying to get money from you like with the chapel credits or dorming, but only of some occasions.
    What to do for fun

    St. Joe, the beach, Chicago, south bend, going out to eat, bowling, skating, laser tagging, shopping, movies, the Chocolate Cafe is a must, AUSA events, saturday night activities, small groups, go out with friends, sand dunes, snowboarding/skiing, tubing, hiking, fishing, rec center, gym, sports events, banquets.. there is always things to do you just have to be willing to go find it

    All you can eat cafe, and gazebo which is kind of like a on the go store/place to get quick food, many opportunities for free food you just have to know where to go
    Dorm Life

    It's very safe in the dorm. There is curfew rules, and time depends on your academic standing and year. Unless you are older you have no curfew. There is always things to do on the weekends, open houses, etc.
    Academic Rigor

    It's very academically driven. Your grades really do count and the environment is very academic. You have to study if you want to be successful.
    Tips for prospective students

    Prepare for winter, bring lots of boots and coats.
