» Read MoreI LOVE being here! The social atmosphere is very relaxed and open to everybody. People are generally nice and welcoming, creating a positive learning and growing scene. The scenery and weather is beautiful all year round, though it does get a bit chilly and snowy in winter. It's just a great community, in the school and in Boone itself.

» Read MoreAppalachian State University offers a beautiful campus and a beautiful location. Nestled in the Mountains of North Carolina, it offers a relaxing study environment on top of many outdoor opportunities to partake in during days off. The student body as a collective is one of the nicest and most welcoming groups I have ever encountered and allow everyone to feel welcomed and as if they belong. Campus life offers a surplus of opportunities to see community bands, artists, and many other groups preform in the multiple halls and our local campus night club. School is not often cancelled for snow days due to the excellent care groundskeepers take to protect your health while commuting to classes. Sledding and playing in the snow is still able to be done however, all over campus and even between classes. During the fall, the Blue Ridge parkway is a sight to be seen and conveniently only about fifteen minutes down the road. There is no better place to be attending school during the fall and winter months. The colors of the trees only make the campus and parkway even more breath taking in the fall months. Everyone I talk to on campus loves the scenery, students and overall experience.

Settled in the mountains of North Carolina, the weather is always perfect and the view is beautiful. It's like living in a little slice of heaven. Everyone in Boone is so nice too, which is always a plus when trying to adjust to college life. No matter who you are and what you enjoy doing you'll find your little spot at Appalachian. King St. has a lot of great shops and places to eat. The things you can do outdoors here are endless: hiking, snowboarding, skiing, going to the waterfalls, etc. are all great ways to get out there and enjoy nature. Howard's Knob is only a few minutes away from campus and you can see ALL of Boone up there, it's truly amazing.
