Categories Comments Bang for the buck The tuition is really cheap here at ASU compared to the two other major colleges in Arkansas (University of Arkansas and University of Central Arkansas), and the 'bang' you get for your buck greatly exceeds your buck! What you pay is small compared to what you get out of it.
Am enjoying being here College life is great here. Fraternities/Sororities, Student clubs and groups, great athletic opprotunities, there really is something for everyone!
Am learning a lot I am a Music Education Major at ASU-Jonesboro. I've been studying music for years, being in band in High School and Jr. High, as well as playing various instruments since elementary, but I am amazed by how much I learn every day from my music classes. Top notch teachers at ASU

Categories Comments Great for these types of students ASU is a great atmosphere for any student and has many majors for you to pick from.
Tips for prospective students If you are thinking of attending ASU you really need to do a campus visit before. This helped me to feel more prepared for school here and it allowed me to be able to find things easier when I got here.
Bang for the buck ASU is pretty fairly priced. They accept many scholarships and really work with you on financial aid. They seem to really care about helping me get through college with as lest debt as possible.
Am enjoying being here I really enjoy all of the activities that are on campus and the many different things to do here on campus. They always have something going on or some event to attend.
Am learning a lot This college has amazing teachers that really care about me knowing the material. I have found ASU in Jonesboro to be a great atmosphere to learn in.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Sports fans- Plenty of sports to watch and inter murals to play Thinkers- The faculty are brilliant people and like to challenge their student Artist- I can tell you this, ASU does not try to stifling your creativity, they encourage you Anyone really- There's something at ASU for everyone, just look around and you'll find some thing on campus for you.
Tips for prospective students Don't slouchy! College is not always a walk in the park. Some classes take more time than others but that doesn't mean should devote less time to any. Also get to know your adviser. They are there to help you and want to. They make things easier with registering and working on your major.
Bang for the buck College is expensive. That's a fact. ASU is cheaper than some of the other colleges in the state. They offer many scholarships in any major. You just have to get out there and find them.
Am enjoying being here I haven't regretted choosing ASU. The friends I have made and the classes I've taken have been worth it. No matter how frustrated I might get at them, they surprise me with something I didn't know and teach me something.
Am learning a lot every professor is interested in teaching you something. Everyone I've had has taught me something. In your major the advisers and other professors in the department always like to help you get farther and learn more to ready you for your career.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students The ASU is the right place for serious and devoted students who really seek nothing but success.
Tips for prospective students To make your life easier in Jonesboro, buy a car. Students also need to socialize and make new friends to avoid loneliness, especially if they have no family in Jonesboro.
Bang for the buck Arkansas State University challenges the students academically but not financially since tuition are not as high comparing to other universities in the US. Several jobs are also available to students in order to support them in paying their bills and tuition. The ASU also provides its students with prestigious and valuable diplomas which allow them to compete in the job market.
Am enjoying being here I enjoy being in the natural state. There is a lot to do in Arkansas. I go to the gym, I hang out with my friends, I travel around the state and the country, I enjoy the natural view in the lake etc...
Am learning a lot It is very honorable to be a student in the ASU. I am learning a lot about the American culture and the history of the United States. Moreover, being exposed to a new and different culture and lifestyle can broaden some one's horizons, intellect and linguistic skills.

Am enjoying being here I love learning and being in class, which is a big deal. There are so many fun things to do, like sports and concerts, making it very entertaining. Also, very comfortable apartments.

Tips for prospective students Come in with an open mind! It's so hard to shake off the ideas that we had in high school, but ASU is a place where anything is possible.
Bang for the buck The tuition continues to rise so that the administration can receive raises, and sometimes it's extremely frustrating. However, there are amenities such as the brand new (amazing) gym and constant student life activities on campus.
Am enjoying being here ASU has truly become my home. I'm headed towards a career I'm passionate about, and have loved getting involved with the leadership organizations on campus. My freshman year I pledged Delta Zeta and have truly found where I belong - I can't imagine being anywhere else.
Am learning a lot The college offers many different classes, so I'm able to actually find ones that I'm interested in. Professors are knowledgeable about their subjects and most of them are more than willing to help students both in and out of class.

Categories Comments Campus Safety The campus is very well-lit and there are usually several people walking around campus, even at night. The campus police officers are usually pretty nice and helpful if there is a problem.
Greek Life I came to college thinking that Greek Life was DEFINITELY not for me. I literally had no desire whatsoever. I roomed with some guys during my junior year that were in a fraternity and their fraternity brothers would come over to hang out and they treated me like I had been their best friend forever. I really liked that and wanted a closer bond and something to do on campus. I became interested and eventually joined the next semester and I have absolutely no regrets. Even if you don't think Greek Life is for you or are totally against it, go check out some Rush events on campus, and don't just try one fraternity or sorority.
Clubs and Activities JOIN AN ORGANIZATION! I can't stress that enough. Get involved on campus and you will not regret it.
Great for these types of students Outgoing, Energetic, Fun-loving, EVERYONE!
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Like I said, The Edge is a fun hangout where lots of people like to go to just chill and maybe listen to some music.
Bang for the buck Very affordable university with lots of perks.
What to do for fun You won't have fun if you stay in the dorm. Go out and FIND fun! There's usually always a gave of ultimate frisbee or something going on that anyone can join in on. Jonesboro also has a nice Malco theater, a new mall, and Craighead Park is a great place for biking trails or just enjoying the outdoors. Also, Memphis is only about an hour away for a quick trip out of town.
Food and Dining The cafeteria food is pretty good for being cafeteria food. Your best bet is to eat in the student center. There are also several great places to eat/hang out very close to campus. Checkout The Edge near campus. Great sandwiches and coffee drinks.
Dorm Life The dorm can also be a great place to meet people. Don't stay in your room. Check out the lobby and introduce yourself. All of the halls have a unique community with a melting pot of personalities.
Academic Rigor The courses can be tough, but most professors I've had are more than happy to work with you. Utilize those office hours!
Tips for prospective students Make sure that you study appropriately. Get plenty of exercise. It's okay to take naps (studies show that it increases cognitive function. Also, have fun. Join a student organization, fraternity, sorority, or church group. Its the best way to make life-long friends.
In three sentences ASU is a wonderful, medium sized campus. The teachers are very professional and personable. Class sizes are between 20-40.

Categories Comments Campus Safety There have been various instances that have happened around the campus, but with each one a new attempt is made to ensure that it does not repeat itself. All in all, security and safety is good, but not 100% guaranteed.
Greek Life I'm not much of a frat person, but from what I can tell their are various fraternities and everyone seems to enjoy being in them.
Clubs and Activities As I have stated, there are various clubs and activities that are held from time to time. You just have to keep your eyes open to find them.
Great for these types of students It's literally a melting pot. It is great for all students so long as you get out and look for whatever it is you seek.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus I could do that, but the fun part is finding them out for yourself.
Bang for the buck With the cheaper tuition, you certainly get a lot for what you pay for.
What to do for fun There are various groups one may join and several fraternities if that is what you're in to. There is also an on campus gym, and there is almost always some type of event going on that one can attend. The trick is to just look at the various fliers and make an attempt to go.
Food and Dining The cafeteria offers a wide selection of food. It is very good and you can eat all you want for the entire semester. Aside from the cafeteria, there are several on campus restaurants that students may choose from if fast food is more your speed. All in all, an A plus!
Dorm Life Dorm life is alright, aside from the freshmen housing. You are typically paired with a complete stranger if you are going in alone, and most of the time they are disagreeable. Not to mention the freshmen dorms are squalid at best. But if you can make it through that, the upperclassmen housing it is well worth going through the struggle.
Academic Rigor The classes are only as difficult as you make them. Some professors are more demanding then others, but in the long run it all boils down to how much work you are willing to put into it.
Tips for prospective students The best advice I can give is to always try your hardest. Do not let your friends tell you that you are wasting your time by going that extra mile. In college and in life that extra mile will go a long way. Do your best on every assignment, apply for all the financial aid you can, and practice whatever it is you are studying outside of class in your spare time. If you can do this, then I believe you have what it takes to succeed.
In three sentences Arkansas State University is a well rounded college for those who seek a start in their career. It can be the beginning of a long and wonderful education, and it can serve as the end of ones educational goals all at the same time. Whether you're looking to start your road on earning a masters degree, or just looking to get your bachelors, ASU is the school of choice.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Safety has improved quite a bit since I've been here. You can have an escort during the night, as well as, the campus police patrolling. There are campus police call stations and ID assess only to keep out non-students.
Greek Life From step shows, to parties, to events, you can see them all around campus. Currently, there is the construction of sorority road. Greek life is point blank, amazing.
Clubs and Activities If ASU does not have the club or group you are wanting, it can always be started. Over my time at ASU over 5 new clubs have been started. Some activities overlap sometimes, and you will be torn on which one to attend.
Great for these types of students ASU is great for students that want that college experience without the worry off flunking out of college. It is by no means a party school, but you will not be denied your share of fun while continuing your education. It is a great balance.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus They say that Wilson Hall is haunted. The Luau is a tradition because it is always the first event of the year. Let's not get started on homecoming traditions.
Bang for the buck You can never say you are bored here. The activity board puts together an array of events that you cannot make it to all of them. Best of all, most of the events are FREE.
What to do for fun Tailgating and football games for the sport fans. Plays, free dance classes, and free movie nights for the artist within you. A new gym for the students that want to work out offer different free workout classes.
Food and Dining Cafe food has its good and bad days. For those bad days, there are other opinions still on campus!! Dead Day midnight breakfast is something you do not want to miss.
Dorm Life Some of my best memories come from dorm life. I loved it so much that after moving off campus, I was right back on campus. It is so easy to get more involved that way.
Academic Rigor If you are looking for a excellent education, ASU is a great choice. You actually get what you put into it. But if you are having trouble in a course, ASU offers tutoring help on diferent subjects.
Tips for prospective students Do not be afraid to get out and be involved. Be sure to check your email for the ASU Daily Digest because it connects you to what events are going on. Make friends and join into the school spirit.
In three sentences ASU is a work in progress. Every year they are building or modifying something to make us stand out more. You will never feel alone or out of place because there is something for everyone here.

Categories Comments Campus Safety There is always a campus patrol person to help you around, trust me i would know i had to ask one where the admissions office was on the first day i was visiting the college.
Greek Life As i said, there's five sororities in my dorm!
Clubs and Activities There's to many to count!
Great for these types of students People who like to live with a very diverse group. There are many people who are international and if you don't like that it might not be right for you!
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus except for us doing the signature Red wolve sign!
Bang for the buck Arkansas state University is overall an amazing place to go and i'm glad i get to be a part of it! Howl yes!
What to do for fun They have so many activities! In the college and also in jonesboro. There is so much to do and they have good places to shop.
Food and Dining All i'm going to say is that they have a Chick-Fil-A! Yum
Dorm Life The dorm im about to live in is the all girls dorm (University Hall). It has 300 girls and 5 sororities. All rooms have a joined bathroom, so there are no communal bathrooms. Iv'e seen university hall twice already and i am ready to move in!
Academic Rigor It's standards are set very high. They are a very good college and have a very good rugby, football team and a very good band. They have many extra curricular activities and Religious activities as well. Courses are amazing as well.
Tips for prospective students Always, always look for scholarships at Arkansas state! They have so many and not a lot of college students know that.
In three sentences They are a very diverse town. Arkansas state has a lot of activities so you won't get bored. The college has a really good accounting program!

Categories Comments Campus Safety You will always see campus police presence around the school. It is very safe. I hardly ever see anyone speeding or driving recklessly. My car is in the same condition and never been broken into. Atmosphere around campus is great. It definitely does NOT have the constantly look over your shoulder feeling.
Great for these types of students It is great for students of all ethnicity's. I have never seen such a wonderful ethnically mixed college. Students help each other out no matter your background. If you feel a little out of touch with your cultural background, ASU is the perfect school for you.
Bang for the buck ASU is definitely worth every penny. There are plenty of activities on campus, there are always available computers for student use and the school definitely knows how to put their financial resources to good use! The campus is like a whole other world. It is clean, friendly environment and very resourceful faculty.
What to do for fun There are plenty of activities to keep you occupied. There is the Hispanic Fall Festival with all kinds of free food and prizes. There are job seminars where all types of companies are present for questions and in helping you apply for a job for them. There are plays, football games, movie nights, cancer walks, bouncy castle events and activities for almost every interest. There is almost always something going on.
Food and Dining The student union has a wonderful variety of foods available all the time. VERY fresh and delicious. There are some foods that will definitely draw your attention. There are numerous and interesting spots to sit and eat. Everyday I discover a different place.
Dorm Life I don't live on campus, but I have researched the dorms from a financial point of view. The price you pay per semester is ALOT cheaper than living on your own in town. The cool thing is rent, water, electric, Internet and even phone are all included in the price. They even have some that are furnished and others that have washers and dryers in them. I was impressed with the prices.
Academic Rigor From my experience, academic rigor varies a lot from teacher to teacher. What I have learned is that each teacher has a method to their madness and the way they have their syllabus's set up, no matter how strange it might seem to you, actually works. I haven't had a class so far where nothing was learned.
Tips for prospective students If your worried about the transition from high school to college, don't worry. ASU has the most competent and friendly staff I have ever seen. I'm not just saying that, it is the truth. They are wonderful at guiding you through the process and in informing you of your options. You will never feel lost and in the dark. If you do, the faculty will get you where you need to be. Best college I have ever attended!
In three sentences One of the most important jobs of a college is to provide a quality education and to provide necessary resources for students to succeed. ASU definitely does this and more. They not only have positive and encouraging faulty memebers to assist students, but also all kinds of valuable resources available on campus. Best of all, almost everything is included in tuition. Almost all activities and events are free.

Tips for prospective students This is a good college to consider.. It offers many opportunities to have fun, as well as getting a degree in almost any major. It helps to attend class and if you're unsure about a subject, to ask your teacher. Everyone is very helpful, and very nice on campus.
Bang for the buck This is not a very expensive college, and provides many opportunities for scholarships. You will get the same learning experiences here as you will at any other college. Typically, you're looking at about a 30:1 student/teacher ratio, which is good - You're in a good classroom setting.
Am enjoying being here Arkansas State University is a fun campus. I enjoy all the fun possibilities that Jonesboro, in general, has to offer. There is usually always activites that the school puts on, whether it's from a scavenger hunt all over campus, or a movie screening on the Student Union lawn.
Am learning a lot Teachers here actually enjoy what they do here. Not only will they expand your knowledge in the subjects they know, but broaden your horizons on other subjects. ASU provides many opportunities to not only learn in the classroom, but to learn just from being on campus.

Tips for prospective students Just enjoy your time here. Find someone to hang out with and when you get a chance to leave for home, take it.
Bang for the buck The food here is great. I think my flex dollars are going away to fast but for the meals I am given, I would love to spend them here. The books are in the bookstore and mine were very reasonable.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students All are encouraged to visit the campuses Arkansas State university has to offer.
Bang for the buck The average cost for an ASU full-time (12 hrs) undergraduate is $2800/semester. For the courses/services offered towards the available degrees, the cost of attendance for ASU students is favorable among most.
Am enjoying being here Enjoy being here? If I said that every day on campus was like a vacation to the French Rivera, I would most assuredly be stretching the truth. BUT, the courses, instructors, and students here on campus—each bringing to the table new ways to look at the world—ASU is a great place to be. Though each student and professor has his/her “bad” days, the “good” days are not far in the distance.
Am learning a lot Instructors at Arkansas State University-Main Campus impress upon their students a great deal--with the knowledge and ideas they possess. Professors at Arkansas State University-Main Campus give their students the opportunity to better themselves through each course taught and taken.

Bang for the buck arkansas state is worth every dollar. great experience
What to do for fun there's a lot going on at arkansas state. we have movie nights in the student union fairly often. other times it's easy to get involved in a game of basketball in the red wolf center. there is much opportunity for fun things on this campus.
Food and Dining i think the cafeteria is really good. they have several choices every day and the food that they make is always really good tasting.
Dorm Life dorm life is great. i'm a resident of the honors dorms on campus, and they're awesome. the ra's are understanding of our needs and it's just overall a cool experience to live on campus with your best friends just having fun and learning.
Academic Rigor the classes here are challenging, but they're not ridiculously unbearable. the rigor is appropriate in my opinion because we are pushed to want to learn and i have been successful so far with the rigor that the university provides.
Tips for prospective students be prepared for college. know how to balance work and play in an efficient manner. don't be overwhelmed with wondering what college will be like; at arkansas state, i was impressed to find how laid back and fun it really is if you can find a good balance of your time.

Food and Dining its pretty good at first but it gets really old. same thing every day.

Categories Comments Food and Dining The food here is very repetitive. You will sometimes have to be creative and make dishes on your own. Not everything in the cafe' is appetizing, but you have to eat to live not eat for pleasure.
Dorm Life I for one am not a fan of the dorms here on campus, but I can say that they are very comfortable. I honestly do not like the idea of living with a stranger, but it was not as bad as i expected.

Academic Rigor Most classes are not too difficult if you follow the assignments.
Tips for prospective students If you can get an assigned parking spot, it will be so much better. Make sure you are known to your professors, that way if something comes up and you have to miss class, they are more likely to work with you. Categories Comments Campus Safety There are emergency buttons located around campus to keep the students safe. First year students are also required to watch a video over a school shooting in order to prepare them for what to do in that kind of situation. There are many campus police officers that help keep the students safe.
Greek Life I am personally not involved in Greek life, but I have many friends that are. It provides many career opportunities, and it is a way to meet new people, and help the community.
Clubs and Activities There are many opportunities for students to get involved. There is pretty much a club for anyone. For example, there are religious clubs, anime clubs, and gay straight alliance clubs.
Great for these types of students If you are a student who enjoys a small campus, with one on one time for the students, this is the college for you. It is big enough to where you don't know everyone, but small enough to where you can find your way around. This is a wonderful campus for the student who needs one-on-one time.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus There is a coffee shop located on campus called The Edge. You get a student discount, and it's a fun place to go if you're tired of studying in the library. A lot of college students go there.
Bang for the buck The good thing about ASU Jonesboro is that many local establishments offer a student discount to those who attend the school. The majority of college kids don't have a lot of money, so any discount counts. This has been very helpful to me.
What to do for fun For fun I like to hang out with my friends, or attend the gym on campus. It's a nice way to blow of steam, and more importantly its free. If i'm not doing that, then I'm joining an on campus church, helping to reach out to the community.
Food and Dining The food provided isn't the best food you will ever eat in your life. However, when you cannot afford to go out to eat it's nice to be able to swipe your card, and get a buffet of food. The only thing I think they could have more of is fruit.
Dorm Life Some of the dorms are really nice, like the honors dorms for instance, but others like Arkansas Hall, Kays Hall, and University Hall are really nasty. The dorms are cleaned every day, but because the buildings are so old, it causes them to look gross.
Academic Rigor Some of the classes can be very difficult if you don't apply yourself. Fortunately, ASU is full of teachers who want to work with you. If you aren't understanding the material, it is likely that there is a tutoring session available. Go! It will help you more than it will harm you.
Tips for prospective students Do not buy your books until you go to your classes. I spent a lot of money on some books that I never even used. Another tip I would give is to get to know your professors. The better they know you, the more likely it is that they will work with you. Don't skip class! Even if it's the coolest party of the semester, don't skip class the next morning. If you're cool enough to party, be cool enough to go to class.
In three sentences Arkansas State University provides students with all the programs they need in order to reach their full potential in their future careers. The professors here really care about working with the students until they understand what is required of them. I just completed my first year on this campus, and I enjoyed every moment of what this campus has to offer.

Food and Dining Meal plans are great option for those staying on campus. You can get food throughout day as often as you want. Also, several other different options for those not on meal plan or just wanting something different.
Dorm Life Dorms seem small and can be challenging to say the least. Have been told that it is hard to study in dorms due to noise levels. Also, have heard that the elevators are out a lot in older buildings.
Academic Rigor Seems like they provide so that you can go at your own pace. Any degree is possible with dedication and want to. Scheduling classes can be a bit confusing but with guidance it can be done.

Dorm Life The people you meet in your dorm are the best. When you think about southern hospitality you are thinking about Arkansas State! The RA's are nice and fun to be around. Many of them make great mentors as well. They set up fun activities for you to do throughout the course of the year.

Categories Comments Food and Dining FREEEEE FOOOOOD! Meal plans are the best thing since sliced bread. You can go into the cafeteria and eat as much as you want 3 times a day. Buffet style. There is also a few restaurants you can go to.
Dorm Life I chose to live with my cousin because I wasn't quite ready to live with a stranger. University Hall is the dorm I chose. It is the all girls dorm. It was the best decision because I have made a few friends. including my RA. Sharing the bathroom with three other girls may sound like a nightmare but it really isn't that bad. If you do have any issues with your roommate or suite mate, that can be taken care of in no time. There is a policy called the no questions asked roommate switch, as long as you have another roommate and the old one has somewhere to go, you can switch.
Academic Rigor You may have some professors who seem like they could care less about you or if you understand what they are teaching. But it is to teach that you are responsible for getting the material.
Tips for prospective students Don't buy your books so early. It is true that most of the books may be in short supply but you can always find them somewhere AND a lot cheaper. Rented the required textbooks is also a big help. I recieved all of my books for about $30.00 each when they actually cost about $200 each. Also remember that although you are held responsible for your college experience, remember that there are many people on campus who are willing to help you and can answer any and all the questions you may have. Make friends with your professors and meet your advisor. BIG HELP! Also, get involved on campus. Make sure you get the whole experience, after all, someone is paying for you to go so make the most out of it. You may not need a job freshman year but having a little extra money is never a bad thing, I work on campus so I don't need gas money =)

Dorm Life The dorms are a great place to make new friends. Being surrounded by so many new people, you learn a lot about others. You can quickly figure out who you'll get along with in the first week.
Academic Rigor Like I previously stated, the professors will do everything they can to help a struggling student. Tutoring is free and no one should be ashamed to ask for help! The classes work student's hard enough without over working them.
Tips for prospective students Plan your classes close together. Not too close so they are almost over lapping, but close enough to where there isn't that hour between them that isn't long enough to get anything finished. Get involved! It's your freshmen year so make some friends! Don't overload yourself with clubs though.
In three sentences It's an easy walk to every building; they're all close enough together so that the farthest walk would be ten minutes. There isn't enough parking, but where is that not a problem? The professors really make an effort to help each student however they can.

Categories Comments Campus Safety The ASU Jonesboro campus is fairly safe. At night can be scary, especially being female. But, I'm sure that's how every campus is. There are stations set up all around campus for emergancies, and you can call university police to escort you anywhere at any time.
Greek Life Greek Life at ASU is superb. With new sorority houses being built, the pull for students in the Greek community has also increased. There are many different place where students can feel at home.
Clubs and Activities There is an abundance of clubs and actitivites here on campus. They stretch from Greek Life to The Quidditich Club. Membership usually dones't take up too much time, but students get a lot out of the clubs they are a part of.
Great for these types of students Here at ASU we have many interational students. Also, it's a great place for Rugby players. We have many student athletes that come from around the world. It's a great place for relaxed people who just love life and looking at beautiful things and nature.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The library is so unusual. There are eight different floors in the library with study rooms located everywhere. People get lost in there all the time. We all it 'The Maze.' Everytime students go to the library you find a different spot that you didn't think was there the last time.
Bang for the buck The scholarhips people get here compared to anywhere else are amazing. Students find themselves coming here because they are getting so much money for such a great campus.
What to do for fun There are so many things to do here in Jonesboro. Downtown is about two minutes from campus, with cute little boutiques and restaurants. We have tons of little ice cream shops and fast food joints. There is also a bowling alley, skating rink, and movie theater.
Food and Dining The caf is awesome. So many different choices, and a great atmosphere. People find themselves in there all day just sitting and talking with friends over lunch. The grill is where all the fried food is. It's usually the longest line.
Dorm Life Freshman dorm life is AWESOME! Students will never be closer with friends and the people around them. After freshman year, people are more secluded and have their own agendas. But with that said, the dorms here are extremely nice.
Academic Rigor All colleges have easy professors and hard professors. That's just how things go. But here at ASU, if you go to class and do the work, you should make a decent grade. There are expections to that rule, however. You could come across a tough professor, but not too often.

What to do for fun I'm from around the Jonesboro area, so most of the things to do for fun that are in Jonesboro, I've been doing already for a while. Categories Comments What to do for fun Since I have been in Jonesboro, I have very rarely ever been bored. The fitness center is open almost everyday with different fitness classes or intermural games going on all the time. Jonesboro also has a great mall that is nice, clean, and very big! The sororities and fraternities on campus also provide a lot of fun for students.
Food and Dining The cafeteria food is kindof a hit-or-miss situation. Some days, the food is very good (especially on premium days), while others you find hair in your food or bowls that haven't been washed. The Flex Dollars that are a part of your meal plan are awesome though. They can be used in the food court, the campus store, or at the on campus Starbucks.
Dorm Life Living in the Honors Dorms has been good in some ways and bad in others. I love the fact that these are the newest dorms on campus, and that they are coed. However, they are far away from all of my classes, the parking is limited, and everyone keeps to themselves. The rooms are also smaller than those in Arkansas or University Halls.
Academic Rigor The classes offered at ASU are very well taught. The professors engage their students and require lots of participation, whether online or in class. Of the classes I have taken, much is expected out of me, and I appreciate the fact that my professors are pushing me to do my very best.
Tips for prospective students I would advise prospective students to take a campus tour on a day that students would be out and about. It really gives you a sense of belonging because you can envision yourself walking to class with all the other students. Also, if a student wished to stay on campus, the 5 day meal plan with the most flex dollars is the best option.
In three sentences ASU Main Campus has a great atmosphere, and the campus is very well kept and put together. The professors are very helpful and love what they teach. The classroom size is never very large, which makes it easy to form study groups.

Categories Comments What to do for fun Every few months SAB will show a new movie every week. Usually it is one that has just come out. In town there are several things to do, a movie theater, bowling, a mall, craighead park and nature center. Downtown are a lot of local restaurants several providing live music on the weekends from local bands.
Food and Dining Many choices but after the first few weeks its becomes slightly boring. The plus is there is always cereal or the food court area, but that one requires money.
Dorm Life Dorm life is dorm life. With the right roommates it can be very enjoyable. after freshman year you have the opportunity to get a private room in either and apartment or quad style setting.
Academic Rigor The classes are tough but most professors are willing to work with you and will provide help outside of class.
Tips for prospective students Never be afraid to ask questions and get involved in something. There are tons of clubs and intramural sports which are a great way to meet new people and find a circle of friends that will last a lifetime.
In three sentences Arkansas State University is a very diverse campus with a place for everyone. In my years of attending classes here I have enjoyed every minute of it and would recommend ASU to anyone who is looking for a small campus with a very welcoming atmosphere.

Food and Dining Open and close at a reasonable time and has a variety of things to choose from. Great!
Dorm Life Everything looks as if it's suppose to. The maintenance work is great, they are there as soon as you submit a work order.
Academic Rigor You have to be prepared, studied up, and ready for the ASU. They want every student to be successful and the academic program is wonderful.
Tips for prospective students Don't be scared to branch out. If you fail, at least you know you tried.
In three sentences ASU is a great college. There many places in the union that provides help with any question you may have. There's plenty of activities to do on campus and tons of new people to meet.

Categories Comments Campus Safety It's gotten better over the last three years since i last attended. There is a text alert you can sign up for that sends out emergency texts in case of a safety threat.
Greek Life I have been to a few of the fraternity parties because my brother is in one of the campus fraternities. He always speaks highly of his frat and of the others on campus as well. My aunt and grandmother were both members of one of the campus sororities and have nothing negative to say there either, but personally I don't have great knowledge on this subject.
Clubs and Activities There are activities and clubs on campus for just about everyone. My brother is a member of a fraternity there, I was in the choir my last time attending. The LGBT and Veterans organizations are better than expected.
Great for these types of students It's a great college for just about anybody. Arkansas isn't very welcoming to LGBT students but the campus has an awesome GSA and can help with the stress of off-campus life.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Wilson Hall is haunted. It's not just a rumor. I've experienced it myself on a few different occasions. Also, the mascot randomly starts flash mobs in the student union. It's great.
Bang for the buck This university is affordable and they offer lots of scholarships to help the average student. I have attended before and there are too many reasons to list about why I came back here. It's one of my favorite universities and I want more than anything to graduate from Arkansas State.
What to do for fun There's many Division I sporting events to attend. The college tends to have lots of activities year round for the students to participate in.
Food and Dining The cafeteria is actually very good with lots of food choices. They also have what would be similar to a food court in a mall and there are many food options there as well.
Dorm Life Dorm life was great when I attended before. There are lots of brand new dorms and it's a closed campus so it's a pretty safe environment.
Academic Rigor I've been to school here before. I would say the classes are not easy, especially the online ones. If you have problems and talk to your professors they tend to work with you and try to accomidate if you work your hardest.
Tips for prospective students Apply early if you can. Visit the campus and talk to your prospective adviser early if you can. (Especially if you are a non-traditional student.) Give college your 100%. (I didn't my first time in college and now I regret it.)
In three sentences It has a relaxing atmosphere that seems open and friendly to everyone. It's a beautiful campus but small enough to where you can easily walk everywhere you need to go. There are lots of places to go and things to do and campus sends out daily emails to remind students of the upcoming opportunities.
