    Make sure you go to class and pay attention. Ask for help when you need it, don't wait till the last minute. Go to tutoring, form study groups with your classmates, don't procrastinate. Don't just sit in your dorm everyday, go talk with people, enjoy your college years. But if your not comfortable doing something, you don't have to do it. Do what makes you happy.

    Do your own research because not all teachers and advisors are the best. Ask advise from many departments when faced with an issue till someone resolves it. Sometimes you have to butt heads to get what you believe is right at times.
