Mission Statement

Averett University, founded in 1859, offers courses of study leading to bachelor's and master's degrees in Danville and at regional centers in Virginia. Through personal attention for all students, Averett prepares them for successful lives by encouraging them, in the liberal arts tradition, to ask and answer important questions, form and defend judgments, and evaluate diverse views thoughtfully.     The campus is really pretty and well taken care of. The students and staff are all very friendly. When I visited in February, there was a group of students (football players) practiced with a fun game in front of the student center with one of the professors!
