Great for these types of students

Bellevue College is great for any type of student. If your planing on tranfering or get your degree here at BC, You can count on getting a great education here. They have so many programs to offer for any type of person who wants to get into any job feild. You can earn your AA or even your bachlors degree in some programs. Their is also so many clubs and activities for the students to be involved in throughout the campus.

    Tips for prospective students

If you want to do well at Bellevue College, apply early and on time for your classes. There is so many students and if you apply late for registration, theres a slim chance you will get any classes. Secondly, just be prepared to get your brain rocked. Lots of studying, determination, and hard work will help lead the way to a great education at Bellevue College. Dont overwhelm yourself with so many credits. The last thing you want to do is drop your grades because your so stressed out.

    Bang for the buck

Compared to what students pay at a university, here at Bellevue College you get the same education and level of classes for 1/4 of the price. As of right now personally, i am taking 15 credits and my tuition for the quarter was about 1500. Compared to a university it would be 10X that. Bellevue College is a great place for low income people that want an education as good as any other university but is quite affordable.

    Am enjoying being here

As a current student, I really am enjoying it here at Bellevue College. The students, staff, and enviroment make Bellevue College enjoyable, safe, and very college atmosphering looking.

    Am learning a lot

Being here is absolutly great. I am learning alot and do feel like I am getting a University level education even though Bellevue college isnt classified as a University. The classes here are about 30-40 students which allow you for a lot of one on one help with the proffesors.

    Campus Safety

Very secured campus. Security available 24/7 for your safety! Just a call and they will be there.

    What to do for fun

Attend an event, join a club, and socialize!

    Food and Dining

The cafeteria here can certainly satisfy your hunger. However, one bad thing is they usually serve fast food more than healthy food.

    Dorm Life

Engaging learning environment with lots of activities going on all the time.

    Academic Rigor

Some of the classes, especially the core major classes, are challenging. Most of the classes at BC is very fun and helpful to attend.

    Tips for prospective students

Be active in campus activities by joining clubs, programs, or just attending fun on-campus events.

    In three sentences

Bellevue College is a great institution with a diverse student body and a very engaging learning environment.

    Campus Safety

Super safe but at night those big tree areas around the parking lot can seem scary at night if you are by yourself. But really a medium sized girl like me has had no problems. There are lots of security guards on campus if you have a problem or you can always let a professor know everyone is very kind. Though every once in a blue moon a car might get broken into but nothing really bad has happened since I've been there for 3 years.

    Greek Life

We have a Phi Theta Cappa and they are nothing but nice people wanting to do community service. It is not like a click environment the people there are bettering the lives of those around them.

    Clubs and Activities

There are soo many like fishing, acting, art, culture, GSA, religous, and so many more. The people in the clubs are really friendly because they are your fellow friendly college students.

Great for these types of students

Great for Art sudents but not ones who want to goof off.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

There isn't anything really weird on campus, the campus it self is unique so nothing would seem weird or unusal.

    Bang for the buck

As an art major student this is a great college for improving your skills with spending the least amount of money. I took and love about 95% of the college art coures and would gladly take them all again if I could. Again, a great way to prepare yourself for transfering to an art major college. And who knows some of those credits might transfer there saving you lots of money.

    What to do for fun

Go to the dances, sports events, local school general events, clubs, and school plays. A lot of people hang out in the stairwell area of the cafeteria and you can always hangout at the crossroad mall nearby.

    Food and Dining

They have a lot of options more than a public high school cafeteria but costs more for average quality food. However there are at least 30 food restaurantsin a 10 mile range of bellevue college vicinity so going out to eat before class is easy.

    Dorm Life

There is no dorm, however there might be for international students.

    Academic Rigor

The only thing I would say they lack is the Bachelor degrees available I would like one for animators. Also they could evaluate their professors better on how they teach math or english.

    Tips for prospective students

Do searches on reviews of professors before you pick a class some professors are superb and some hard confusing. Also use your writing lab tutors and math tutors they really know what there talking about and make the hardest things understandable.

    In three sentences

Bellevue College has a great learning atmosphere with a variety of people. The art professors are great for getting you prepared with transferring to art major colleges. There are a lot of after school activities ranging from Asian culture events to sports.

    Campus Safety

Campus safety is wandering around campus and the school also has an alert system that can send emails or text messages.

    Greek Life

The campus does not have a greek system.

    Clubs and Activities

Many student clubs and organizations on campus! As mentioned before, it is great to get involved!

Great for these types of students

I believe that it is a good campus for all types of students. There are a variety of programs offered and so that attracts a large age group.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

The campus mascot is a Bulldog and you can see him running around sometimes!

    Bang for the buck

Definitely! I financed my education personally by working and going to school. It was hard at times but manageable.

    What to do for fun

Bellevue College is very close to both Bellevue and Seattle so there are plenty of things to do in the city. If you are looking for things to do on campus, the clubs and organizations always have some type of event going on but it can be hard to stay informed if you don't stop by Student Programs or follow Facebook/Twitter.

    Food and Dining

The cafeteria food is okay. It can be a bit pricey. There are plenty of options to eat nearby and off of campus though so I never thought of it to be an issue.

    Dorm Life

There are no dorms available on campus. However, there are plenty of apartments nearby.

    Academic Rigor

The academics are not too difficult. It depends on what classes you are taking and what teacher. Some teachers have varied material although it might be the same class. It is helpful to ask other students and find out how classes are structured with specific teachers before enrolling.

    Tips for prospective students

Get involved! Although it is not a typical college, there are plenty of opportunities available for students.

    In three sentences

Bellevue College is well known for their transfer degree programs and running start programs. I attended to complete my transfer degree. This school is very cost efficient and the people are from all areas of the city. It is extremely diverse.

Great for these types of students

I'm somewhat unsure of what this section great for these types of students exactly means. I will simply leave a breif conclusion of what I think about the school. Overall BC is an excellent school and a great place to start for GED and high school grads alike!

    Tips for prospective students

Simply pay attention, do the coursework and take notes if it helps, go to class and strive to succeed and if you do those few steps obtaining a degree isn't too difficult.

    Bang for the buck

This school is inexpensive compared to other colleges and univeristys as it used to be a community college. However, the recent washington state tax hike of 7% did increase tuition a bit.

    Am enjoying being here

I do enjoy being here and am very glad I made the decision to even start going to college. Previously to my college career, I only had a G.E.D. and in today's economy etc, its hard to find a good job without a college education.

    Am learning a lot

I have been a student at Bellevue College (formally know as Bellevue Community College) for a full year. All of my teachers to the most part have been friendly and helpful. I have learned so much since the beginning of my college career. Every class Is packed with information, sometimes it seems overwhelming but that seems to be somewhat normal in college.

Great for these types of students

Possibly the greatest quality about Bellevue College is that it isn't geared to just one or two types of students. The student body is one of the most diverse populations one could imagine. Interests, activities, and styles vary astronomically from person to person. However, if you're looking for the ultimate college experience, complete with lots of school spirit and a huge group of friends, BC probably isn't your best bet. But if you're looking for a calm environment where you can truly learn and focus on your classes and activities, BC is the perfect choice. Most importantly, BC is perfect for people who have a lot on their plate (i.e., jobs, families, etc.). I guarantee that whoever you are, you will be able to find something to love at Bellevue College.

    Tips for prospective students

Get to campus early or take the bus! Parking is an absolute nightmare at Bellevue College. Because of the fact that there is no campus housing, each and every student commutes to school on a daily basis. Therefore, despite the nearly fifteen parking lots, it still becomes next to impossible to find parking between the hours of 10 AM and 2 PM. So, it is definitely wise to invest in a student bus pass or organize a carpool system with friends. Join a club. If you're interested in meeting people and making friends during your time at BC, you're definitely going to have to reach out. It's possible to meet good people, but not if you don't put in the effort.

    Bang for the buck

It's easy to feel like a thief as a BC student because you get a top notch education for next to no cost. Having just recently gone through the transition from CC to four-year college, BC still has the tuition of an average community college. However, the education you receive is far superior to any CC. Therefore, as a student at Bellevue College, you will receive an extremely high level education for an extremely low cost.

    Did enjoy being here

In my first quarter at BC (then BCC), I was a high school junior and running start student. Being able to leave behind the constraints of my high school for the freedom of a college campus was one of the greatest opportunities I've ever been given. This transition rejuvenated my passion for school and allowed me to excel more than I had in the past. Also, the campus itself is perfect for a new college student, with a centrally located cafe for socializing and meeting new people as well as plenty of open grassy areas for studying and relaxing. So far as the classroom experience goes, I've never had a better experience than I did at BC. The professors and students alike are extremely welcoming and the learning environments are open and comfortable. It truly pays off to be able to have small classes and personal relationships with each of your professors. Like every campus, Bellevue College has its cons. For example, although the campus is a great place to be, the weather hardly ever permits any outdoor relaxation. For most of the school year, students have to trek through the rain, sleet, and snow. Also, because of the fact that BC is a commuter school, meeting and maintaining friendships proves to be quite difficult. Most students are on campus strictly to take their classes, rather than to meet people and socialize. This can result in a rather lonely feeling sometimes. So, in order to form a network of friends, you will have to reach out to interest groups and campus clubs.

    Did learn a lot

When I attended Bellevue College, it was still considered a community college. For this reason, the school and it's students did not receive the respect they deserved. However, despite its CC status, Bellevue provided me with some of the most eye-opening and educational experiences of my life. The classes and professors at Bellevue College are interesting, unique, and cutting edge. As a sociology and English student, I took several classes regarding social issues through the ages. After studying with the professors in these areas, my mind has been forever changed. Upon leaving Bellevue, I have been armed with a completely new and much more informed outlook on life. I think about my classes and professors on a daily basis and will never forget what I learned.

Great for these types of students

This school is great for all students.

    Tips for prospective students

Sign up for any of your classes early! Just like all colleges, to ensure that you get what you need, you need to make sure you get in as soon as you can because this college is a fairly large school, so there's a lot of other students trying to do the same thing. And if you don't get in, you'll be on the waitlist, which doesn't necessarily grant you a spot in the class. Also! The beginning of the quarter is always a busy time for the main office, so if you need to go in for a counselor or to register or to pay for anything or to buy books (all conveniently located in one giant room, which can obviously make it even more busy), go in there a lot earlier than you think you'd need to. There was always a huge and slightly confusing line for the first two weeks.

    Bang for the buck

Bellevue's tuition costs were relatively the same to other community colleges. Of course now it is a regular college, so I am not so sure now. But I don't expect it to be too different.

    Did enjoy being here

It was truly an enjoyable experience. It was a hard decision to continue my education elsewhere.

    Did learn a lot

As of this is my first college I went to, this school taught me a lot about being responsible. Not only for my classes and great education, but for myself. It may sound cliche, but it was a wonderful school with enthusiastic teachers. Every single one of my teachers truly and thoroughly taught their lessons to us, and had a great passion for what they did.

    Tips for prospective students

i would say pick your classes early because you don't know when you will be stuck on the waiting list. Also pay right after you sign up for your classes so you don't get bumped from your classes that you are already signed up in.

    Bang for the buck

It is worth the money and commute to go here!

Ive met a lot of new people in the athletic program and I love it. people are nice here and are willing to help the freshmen.

Great for these types of students

Independent people, those working a large amount (online classes available), those who can't commit to a university away from home/work, or anyone struggling to find money for a college education!

    Tips for prospective students

Sign up for your classes on time! You don't want to miss out on the classes you really want or need because someone else got your spot first! Also, don't overload yourself. Though it's not a university, it's still easy to become overwhelmed!

    Bang for the buck

I have visited many other universities and sat in on their classes, and Bellevue College is in no way lacking in prestige. If money is an issue for you, then Bellevue College is definitely a great place to start your education. You save so much without sacrificing a ton!

    Am enjoying being here

Although it is nothing like living on campus at a university, Bellevue College offers plenty of ways to get involved around campus. It's also small enough that you are able to build community with classmates or the people you just happen to meet around school!

    Am learning a lot

What a great continuation of education! Bellevue College has prestigious and engaging professors who really wish to help you succeed. The subjects are intriguing and spark quite the intellectual mind!

Take as many different classes as possible. I particularly enjoyed the sociology and communication studies classes. Make sure to check out your teachers before signing up for the class. They can make or break your enjoyment level.

    Bang for the buck

Can't get any better prices for such great classes.

    Did enjoy being here

Bellevue is not a traditional college. Most, if not all, students commute to campus. It can be difficult to become involved at Bellevue. Its all about putting in the effort, but once you do its well worth the time.

bellevue college costs a lot less then other schools. it also has a lot of specific programs for different majors.

    Am enjoying being here

Because it's a smaller school, I have friends in every class. There are free events the students can attend and lots of clubs to join. The campus is beautiful and it's easy to find your classes. I also love the diversity here.

    Academic Rigor

the professors really try to get to know you and are happy to explain anything you don't understand. for them, it's not about getting through a certain amount of material; it's about making sure the students learn about the subject.

Great for these types of students

Students looking to fulfill general education courses before transfer. Students looking to transition slowly into college life. Students returning to school to complete or perfect or renew education requirements. People who just want to learn something new in a college environment, for less money.

    Tips for prospective students

Know what you want to do or where you need to go academically. There are councilors here, but there are so many people all the time and the lines are so long that it can be discouraging, so find out stuff on your own and talk to other students. Then go to the advisers to fill in the gaps. Usually, if you're on top of it, you won't need to. Also, if you're looking to transfer, look into the transfer degrees and what they require. If you don't plan on getting a degree, look at the classes themselves. Classes with an ampersand (&) will easily transfer. And finally, make sure you get to school on time. Because this is a commuter campus, the parking fills up fast! Know traffic on your way here and know where the nearest parking will be.

    Bang for the buck

Absolutely! Who wouldn't mind having to pay only $2000 for 16 credit hours per quarter? The classes teach you so much and there is a really good level of student interaction within the classes themselves. The size of the school is such that you can easily reach your teachers and establish connections with your classmates in order to enhance your educational experience. Definitely get so much more than that tiny bill implies.

    Am enjoying being here

Most of the students here are really enjoying what they are learning and are very dedicated to what they are studying. It is a really nice environment. It is a commuter campus so there is a lot of flexibility, while still providing ways for students to get involved.

    Am learning a lot

BC definitely has a lot to offer. It does require you to know what you're looking for or else you might spend a lot of credit hours doing nearly nothing...but once you find the things you need its great! The staff is very good. They all usually have advanced degrees in what they are teaching and are all very good instructors. Since this was only recently a community college they all seem very used to the idea that students need to be at a community college pace. They might be returning learners or perhaps don't speak english as their first language. Even if you don't fit into those descriptions, definitely savor the in-between pace while it lasts.

    Bang for the buck

With budget cuts, the cost of textbooks and tuition has gone up substantially. There are many extra fees and expenses that go beyond the cover price of attending, such as all students having to pay for parking. However, Bellevue is cheaper than a regular major 4 year University, and with programs such as Running Start for high school students, the rate of quality classes to fees is above average.

    What to do for fun

There are many clubs and groups that have been created for the students and run by the students which is an awesome way to get involved in the community and connect with other students.

    Food and Dining

The food is pretty good, it's basic standard cafeteria food that might be expected at a college. They are a little pricey, but the coffee stands scattered around the campus are very good and accessible.

    Academic Rigor

Bellevue's academic rigor is very difficult compared to most community colleges, but as long as students come in with good study habits and an expectation of putting in many study hours, it is possible to do very well.

    Tips for prospective students

Ratemyprofesser.com is an excellent website for checking out student reviews of the teachers because it really makes all the difference with the grade you will get in the class. When registering, don't wait to sign up for classes otherwise you take the risk of losing out on the best teachers and classes.

    In three sentences

As an accredited 4 year university, Bellevue has become one of the top community colleges in the Northwest. With a wide variety of class choices, the teachers are for the most part very interested in the student's success and very helpful. The campus may be small, but their location and website are very well organized.

Campus safety is available 24/7. I feel that if I ever need anything, even just being walked out to my car after a night class that I can call them.

Great for these types of students

It is great for all types of students. Anyone who wants a great education without paying university prices.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

Bellevue College is a campus that is going green. They already have composting, recycling, and an active sustainability program which encourages all students to make a difference, by taking the bus, carpooling, and using less resources. Plus if you don't know how to help with the sustainability there are multiple ways that you can find out about it.

    Bang for the buck

You are getting the same education, from professionals currently working in their field of study, that you would get at university for less than half of the cost.

    Food and Dining

The cafeteria has the typical food fare for a college campus, so it can be harder to find healthier options. On the other hand they do have a deli so you can make your own sandwiches, and even your own salads. They also have coffee shops scattered throughout campus, which makes it nice for getting your morning cup of coffee at least somewhat closer to your class.

    Academic Rigor

The classes can be challenging if you don't keep up with your work. So my best advice is to keep on top of your studies.

    Tips for prospective students

Register for classes early. Since Bellevue College has a large student population there can be some competition for getting into classes. As soon as your registration date and time comes up register, or be prepared to be put on a wait list for your classes.

    In three sentences

Well rounded college, with a lot of clubs, sports, activities, and a wide range of classes for all different kinds of majors. Plus it's the same education as a University, but for about 1/3 of the price!

    Bang for the buck

The professors are very well qualified while the tuition is only around $2,000 per quarter for Washington citizens.

    What to do for fun

Not a whole lot. There's a computer lab and a campus commons to hang out and entertain oneself in, but nothing placed specifically for entertainment.

    Food and Dining

The food isn't the best but it isn't McDonald's quality either. I found it acceptable when I couldn't put something together in the morning. I liked the salad bar the most.

    Academic Rigor

The classes are challenging but not too difficult, and do a very good job of preparing you for your degree.

    Tips for prospective students

If you plan on taking classes between 10 am and 4 pm, I strongly advise taking the bus if you can - the parking is a mess.

    Campus Safety

The Campus police here on campus are sticklers for rules. If you're not by the book, you get a ticket. They aren't even all that big on warnings either. So be sure to read all of the student manual before going about your business. The college has working lampposts ever 5-6 feet throughout both the main walkways and parking lots. So even when I haven't been able to get a parking space close to the front, I still feel incredibly safe walking around by myself at 10 o'clock at night. There's just nowhere for criminals to hide. There is a fire station just across the street from the main campus and a city police station just a few blocks north.

Great for these types of students

You must absolutely LOVE the city. I am a country girl myself through and through and I nearly had about three mental breakdowns for the lack of small town cordiality. Even if you are standing just behind someone and they know you're there, don't ever expect them to get the door for you! The atmosphere, the people, and the attitude here are all very much City. People who are considering the UW would do well to have their undergraduate work from here. The portion of international asian students (mostly from Japan, Korea, and Vietnam) is even greater than that of the Caucassian Americans. There are also a great deal of middle eastern students here, nearly all of them friendly. Because of all the different cultures and backgrounds, it first seems like no one wants to even look at anyone they don't expressly know, which can be quite awkward for the lone duck wanting company. You have to be unafraid to just go up and introduce yourself to someone.

    Bang for the buck

While Bellevue is admittedly a bit expensive of a school, they also have amazing undergrad programs and regarded highly all over the state of Washington. For example, I have several friends in radiology who are making just above B grades. However, competitive graduate programs are still looking at them as likely candidates because those B grades are from Bellevue College. Another example is that my own GPA this past fall was just above a 3.0 and I was still accepted by my dream school (on Christmas Eve no less!) for their tough undergraduate program. Why? Because my transcripts were from Bellevue. This place will mostly certainly put you through your paces, but other colleges recognize that and will give you credit where credit is due because of it.

    What to do for fun

There are plenty of hiking/biking/horseback riding trails scattered all over the place near Bellevue, however you will need either a car or a good friend with a car to get to any of them. Downtown Seattle is about a 10-15 minute drive away in good traffic, but once again, you will need a car to get there. There are buses that come to the college every five minutes on the dot that can take you all over the city of Bellevue. I personally have never used the buses and can tell you no more about them. The college itself often has events such as Ice Cream Socials (with FREE ice cream!), ASB barbeques, concerts, LGBT dances (they even had a prom this year C: ) and school sponsored trips going on. All events are posted on the school calender located in the cafeteria and most events will also have fliers set up at the bulletin boards located around every corner on campus. They're very difficult to miss.

    Food and Dining

The cafeteria food wasn't all that appetizing and they don't tell you any of the prices until you're at the cash register. I always preferred to just bring in my lunches and dinners from home. Also, the cafeteria tables are almost always filthy. The janitorial staff are either highly overworked and underpaid or simply don't give a rip. The bathrooms, hallways, and even some classrooms are all quite filthy.

    Dorm Life

I am honestly unable to truthfully answer this as I did not live in the dorms during my time at Bellevue College.

    Academic Rigor

In the state of Washington, all colleges (especially community colleges) are graded on their academic rigor in correlation to a grade transfer to the University of Washington. For example, a 4.0 in macroeconomics at some colleges transfers to the UW as a 3.0 or even a 2.5 in some cases. However, Bellevue courses transfer almost exactly; a 4.0 often becomes merely a 3.8 or 3.9. The amazing thing about Bellevue though is that the courses don't Feel rigorous. For example, I took Japanese 121 last Fall Quarter. During that course we learned an average of three new characters, twenty new words, and six cultural phenomenons in a single one hour class period. However, the coursework was fun and interactive. I felt less as if my brain was being pummelled and more like I was basking in the sun of knowledge, soaking up every last ray.

    Tips for prospective students

If you are unsure about what classes to take, talk to the professors and fellow students (and the secretaries! they are very smart people) Before talking with an advisor. My experience with the advisors has been that they will say just about anything to make you stay for as long as possible. Also, Bellevue provides study labs for each subject (Science lab, Math lab, Writing lab, Language lab, etc.). Go There if you need help! The tutors there are miracle workers! They'll get you sorted out.

    In three sentences

Incredibly diverse with an emphasis on eastern cultures. Most professors are superbly knowledgeable in their subject and explain that knowledge well. Tucked into the western part of Bellevue, WA so there's city, but no mall right outside your door.

    What to do for fun

Since you only have the option of 18 credits at this college, the court yard always has something to do on campus if you are looking for something to do in your spare time, off campus there is a bowling ally and several other areas in down town Bellevue that make socializing easy. There are so many varieties of clubs too that the social life may seem kind of dull, but everyone has a group of people that they have met, usually in this way.

    Food and Dining

The dining area in Bellevue College is generally the same thing each and every day, there is one item that does change every day, although they continue in a cycle of the same items being switched out over a period of time. While it gets boring after a while, the food is not horrible.

    Dorm Life

This school does not have dorms of any kind so there is not much to say about it. But living in the area is nice because of how calm and beautiful this part of Bellevue is.

    Academic Rigor

The rigor for the accedemics here is not the hardest I have experienced, some high school classes have been noted as harder, but they do expect you to behave like an adult even if you are a running start student looking to gain college credits while still in high school. While it always depends on the professor, there have only been a small handful that I have encountered that are irrational.

    Tips for prospective students

Future students should think of the classes here as seriously as they would a university, it is not as simple as some make it out to be to get an A in a class. Always pre-order your books so they are there the day classes start because teachers expect you to have them on the first day, and the book store line will keep you waiting for hours!

    In three sentences

Bellevue College has a lot to offer for two year degrees considering they used to be a Community College. Today, their degrees and majors are still blossoming out but are always creating new classes in order to fulfill student needs. They have a lot of kind hearted professors and make it easier to transition into the college life.

    Academic Rigor

The rating system on this really isn't fair. This will depend on your professor and course of study. Stay away from hybrid classes and online classes. Hybrid classes tend to give you homework on line and in class making the work load more than double. On-line classes forget you have a life and there is a reason you are an on-line student.

    Tips for prospective students

Keep everything..if you have to ask should, I keep this? the answer is yes. Read the syllabus and don't be afraid of your professors. If you have to do anything on-line, do it early the computer system tends to go down, or need maintenance when projects are due.

    In three sentences

I would recommend this college to my friends or family. The location is beautiful. The staff is usually helpful. The activities and clubs are amazing. You will always find help, a good cup of coffee and a place to study in between classes.

    Campus Safety

We have teachers that are cops and former cops, plus campus safety has a presence that is really easy to reach out to. Trust me, it feels so safe that I can almost leave a laptop unattended...you know if it weren't a laptop.

    Greek Life

None really...or at least none that I've seen.

    Clubs and Activities

There are lots of clubs and activities but you kind of have to go searching for them. But they are out there.

Great for these types of students

Self-motivated, running-start, returning to school. It's a community college so really EVERYONE is the perfect student here.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

I haven't been here for very long but it's very woodsy around and there are so many little tables and outside areas that help you feel like you aren't in Northern, Western Washington (unless of course it's cold outside).

    Bang for the buck

I'm getting financial aid and a lot of it so I don't have to pay for my classes...but books are REALLY expensive at the bookstore. Chances are students are selling them for cheap or you can find them elsewhere for a steal.

    What to do for fun

Talk to random people in the Student Union building. Most people love making new friends and can usually give you awesome advice on teachers and how to succeed at Bellevue College.

    Food and Dining

I don't eat in the cafeteria but the coffee shops stationed all over campus sell awesome coffee and snacks.

    Dorm Life

No dorms...community college is typically like that.

    Academic Rigor

It all depends on what you can handle. It also depends on the teachers and courses you're taking. My advice, meet with a counselor before signing up for your first classes so you can get an idea of what is right for you.

    Tips for prospective students

Do homework and reading and you'll do fine. Remember that having an opinion is a lot of the times a good thing in college, not like high school where you need to keep your opinion to yourself.

    In three sentences

Friendly atmosphere to all students. Feels like a community. Instructors are there to help you succeed.

    Academic Rigor

Distance learning classes require a lot of reading, internet research and writing. I found that the average 5 credit class has required about 15 hours of studying per week (I am a very fast reader) to consistently get A's in the classes.

    Tips for prospective students

Great for these types of students

    Food and Dining

The cafeteria food is actually pretty good! The only thing I would say is maybe increasing the size of the cafeteria...it's pretty small for the number of students we have at the school.

    Dorm Life

Although Bellevue College doesn't actually have dorms, I'm sure they would be in tip-top shape!

    Academic Rigor

The courses are true to their descriptions, and challenge yet encourage at the same time. If you put forth the effort, it will show. If you slack off, it will also show.

    Tips for prospective students
