If you are not used to the life of a small and extremely quiet town, be prepared to be disappointed with Beloit's social life. This is an important aspect of college life in my opinion, but there are ways to work around this, proven from my past experience. In the past I have found that weekend trips to Madison, Wi which is about an hour away can satisfy one for a few months (especially during special events like Miflin, Halloween, and St. Patrick's Day). Rockford, Illinois is also a nice place to go, so having a car would definitely enhance one's experience. However, the college tends to organize trips to Chicago, Madison, and the movies periodically at no cost to the student as well.
