Around Town

Bentley is close to Boston which helps but a shuttle must be first taken into Cambridge then students must ride the local city transportation to get deeper into the actual city of Boston. Shuttles are sometimes undependable. This is why on campus activities must be utilized to have fun. Gyms are somewhat small and often crowded, but are pretty decent quality.

Boston is incredibly close, so I go there on the shuttle bus once a week to see concerts, go to the Prudential or out to dinner. On campus, there are events at my Fraternity, Kappa Sigma every week and opportunities to network often.

The different activities hosted by the dorm government and other activities are good opportunities to have fun but the best way to have fun is to get a connection with one of the frats to go to their parties or go into Boston.

go into Boston on the weekends, have dinner in Waltham, or hang out on campus, especially on the Greenspace during the warmer days.

Again, if your a girl, there is always something to do no matter what. The school is not very strict at all as it is called a party school with a business problem.

You can do many things for fun, such as, play Division 2 sports or intramural sports. We are ranked in the nation in club sports such as Rugby.

At Bentley almost 90% of all students participate in some sort of sport. If you don't like sports there is a wide range of the stereotypical college clubs such as student government as well as investment clubs and business oriented clubs. For the weekend, there is always a party going on someone on campus or off campus within walking distance. There is also a street within walking distance that has clubs/bars and shopping.

There are hundreds of clubs on campus as well as athletics for anyone who is interested.

One service that Bentley offers is a free shuttle that takes students, and there guests, into Harvard Square. People use this to go to the Hockey games, its the only sport Bentley is Div 1 in, and to shop and hangout. Typically this is really popular on the weekends.

During the week, Bentley offers a variety of intramurals and clubs that keep the students active. I suggest forming a team on your freshman dorm floor or joining something with a friend. The fitness center is also always open very early and closes around midnight which allows students plenty of opportunity to work out. On weekends, campus is usually up and about with music and students everywhere. Fraternities also have parties off campus which are a must for any freshman. Fraternity and Sorority life have been growing gradually over the past few years and offer another fun opportunity for students.
