    Great for these types of students

    If you are some one who love to talk and be around people then Cookman is the place for you! I must say that Bethune has a great social life that i myself didn't think i would really take part in. I am usually quiet and keep to my self around people i don't know but when i got to Cookman, all of that changed. You will be able to find your true self when you go off to college and you will be surprised at the type of person you really are.

    SAVE SOME MONEY!!!!!!! Be your self! Be confident! Keep your head up! And do not be a follower!!!!

    It wouldn't hurt to lower the cost of education just a little bit. Every school has its flaws but I can honestly say that the cost to attend Cookman doesn't make up for its worn out dorms, its nasty same day food, and its door to door parking lots. So many people have the potential to go to Bethune Cookman but they don't have the money for it. That's why I'm on Cappex. I need to get some help for paying my tuition. If i don't receive any help for the up coming school year, i will be stuck at home at a community college, which there is nothing wrong with that but i will truly be hurt to not return to Cookman. At Cookman, i feel like you are only paying for your education and nothing else. The education that you receive is worth $20,000 (give or take) but every thing else.......no comment!

    Going to Bethune Cookman has given me the opportunity to experience things that I would not have experienced at home. The college life at Cookman is laid back and simple. Mostly every one is friendly and there are people from all over the united states to meet and learn about their home town. I have made many friends and tons of associates. I wouldn't trade going to college for any thing.
    Am learning a lot

    My major is Elementary Education and thus far i have been enjoying every little minute of it. I have learn a lot about my major and i can not wait to return to Bethune Cookman to learn even more. Cookman has so many Majors that stand out but to me the Education Department is where to be!

    Great for these types of students

    Students who have a good academic background and want to further there education the right way I suggests that you consider Bethune Cookman University. This University will make sure that your next step into the world no matter the career will be the right one.
    Tips for prospective students

    Bethune Cookman University is a school that can be sort of easy to get distracted from your school work especially if you are a freshman. So the best thing you can do is come in and focus on your books. Its alright to have fun just make sure that you are get your school work done first because it is hard to bounce back once you fall off in your books.

    Bethune Cookman University is a little bit expensive being that it is a private institution. This is what causes a lot of student to change their minds about attending, but there are many scholarships and grants available to help you pay for school here at Bethune Cookman. You just have to apply for them. Yeah I admit when I saw the price of tuition I almost fainted too but advisers at Bethune helped me find solutions to help me pay for the expenses of college and after I got help I realized that it wasn't too bad.

    I am really enjoying my experience there. The campus life is awesome. The students interact well with each other and there is always something going on if you ever get bored or need something to do. There are also lots of Greek organizations that you can join to keep you occupied. the one thing that I can say is great about the campus is that it is right down the street from the beach which is something that lots of student enjoy a lot. If you enjoy learning and having fun at the same time Bethune Cookman University is the school for you.

    Bethune Cookman is a great institution. i have learned a lot in my previous year there. The university is filled with professors and advisor who want to see you succeed. There are many resources available for students if they need help with anything rather it academic or financial. The campus size isn't too big so finding the help isn't a huge issue, everything that you need seems like a few feet away.

    Great for these types of students

    Boarder line high school college ready, easy going, and/ or homesick kids. Bethune is located in the most central point of Florida make most trips a mere 2 1/2 hour drive, compared to some of the day long drives or few hour yet couple hundred dollar flights. Fill out as many SCHALARSHIPS or GRANTS as you can thus helping out greatly towards your up coming financial cituations at Bethune-Cookman University.

    Be prepared to do Heavy work loads, and ready your mind for easy distractions. This is what makes or breaks you and turns the young playful children of today into the mature young adults of tomorrow.
    Bang for the buck

    If your a penny pincher, Bethune Cookman is not the place for you, at all. I believe the reason to it being a private school makes Bethune-Cookman $12,000+ not including your everyday personal commmitments, necessities, or wants per semester. Multipliying that by two EASILY towers over the $24, 000 dollar mark for tuition. Thankfully, my financial aid covers atleast 95% of that which leaves me to cover about 2000 dollars on a payment plan per full school year which is a little, but still a lot paying out the pocket especially with a SINGLE mother still at home taking care of another child. Unfortunately, this is not the case for everyone attending The Great Bethune Cookman, I've already lost many easily met, close friends due to financial cituations, whos aid didn't cover as much as mine or any at all.

    Without the thought of classes I DO enjoy my time at Bethune, not only because its in Daytona Beach but because of the young friendly population there. The school also holds a great, interesting history behind it beginning with how it was built going all the way to why and how it was thought up to even become a school. There are also a variety of people there that come from different parts of America AND the world. For example I myself am from Canada, no one hates the fact that I am or bullies or condemns me for being so, in fact it has made a quite easy yet catchy nickname for me, Canada. Bethune-Cookman is also smack dab in the middle of most conveniences a gas station / corner store walking distance from the school no more than a quarter mile, across the street from that is a 24/7 Checkers fast food restaurant, on campus ATMs, The mall and McDonalds, Little Caesars, and other stores such as Wal-Mart or Burlington's a mile drive (5 minutes). Teen Clubs the Beach and movie Theaters are also in a 1 1/2 mile radius of the school which makes weekends always alive and going this includes transportation to ALL of the places listed for 6$ or less and Free on the weekends.
    Am learning a lot

    As a current student who has been here for at least a semester now and currently on winter break, I can personally say that Bethune has its ups and downs where actually learning something is involved. They have from what they tell us (The Students) is new called, the C.A.R.E.S program. This personally in my eyes holds one back because they involve taking a semester of beginning, intermediate, and advanced classes of reading writing and math. From which ever level you begin at is where you must start your college academics until all levels have been completed, thus entering you finally into the college level courses. This C.A.R.E.S program is applied to the students who Aren't Ready for College level courses. The only way as a matter of fact to drop these classes is to Drop the classes, or Test out through what are called Compass Tests at the end of a Semester, regardless if you pass the Final exam with flying colors, the compass wields the fate of every student with held in the program. If a student would have to repeat a class this would further slow down their process towards taking a Class more towards the involvement of their major. To which is why I believe C.AR.E.S to be a set back to some or most undergraduate Students. Besides that being a major factor in the learning curricula, you do learn at least SOMETHING of what is to be learnt or what you should have learned before entering The Great, Bethune Cookman.

    i think tuition is way to much for an hbcu. some of the buildings like old and the dorm rooms. also the cafe food has some good and bad days. i think that since tuition is 20,608 that it should include books.

    Be aware that peer pressure is at its peak in college, be wary of the people you choose to be around and always remember whether you succeed at bethune cookman or any university its all about how you apply yourself. Take responsibility for your school work and the choices you make.

    I have to say that bethune cookman is pretty expensive; however i believe its not worth it. The food isnt all that great and the dorms are small, not all but the majority of the dormitory halls are broken down and in bad condition. I myself don't see why the school is so expensive but hey, its college.

    Being here isnt too bad, i honestly believe college is what you make it; and that goes for any school that you plan to attend. Its all pretty much the same.

    it has it's slow days but if you get involved in the campus wide activities or organizations than you will always have plenty to do.

    The teachers actually take the time to make sure that you understand the material. They work with you every step of the way. and most of them make it impossible to fail.

    Bethune is great for all types of students. Being a HBCU I assumed there would only be African American students here. I have met canadians, caucasians, british and people from all walks of life while at Bethune. The faculty and student body is very diverse. I'm sure that all students would love it.

    For those who are looking to attend Bethune Cookman University I have to say if you have your agenda for life made you'll be ok. There is lots to do here and there is plenty of time for parties and extra curriculars once the school work is done. Just remain focused, freshmen get distracted easily.

    No one wants to pay for college, but compared to what some of my friends are paying for college, I am truly getting my monies worth. Besides you can't put a price on education. I have looked at other colleges, but have always been accustomed to a small school settings, I'm not certain that I'd get the level of education that I'm receiving at another university no matter the price.

    From the time of my campus visit, until I moved in the dorm everyone has truly made me feel at home. Everyone is so friendly and are very helpful too. I had no problem finding my way around and everything I desire is within walking distance. I hope you like exercise, there is a lot a of walking and you get to see more of the beautiful campus. I never realized the history lesson the campus offers, I have learned things about Black History that I never received when I was in school.

    I am truly learning a lot a Bethune Cookman University. Although it only my first year I have truly enjoyed the history about the school itself. In addition the teachers are truly there for you, they want you to succeed, with that kind of support it is impossible to fail. For every course there are tutors for those who struggle with a subject. There truly is no reason to fail if the focus is there. I am a Nursing major and am ready to get started with the state of the art nursing program they have.

    campus security is very good. they walk and ride around campus to ensure safety and well-being for every individual on campus.

    greek life is amazing on campus. many of them show the value and meaning of brother and sisterhood. the performances they give are very enticing and entertaining, especially the stepping and tricks they do.

    there are many clubs and activities on campus that are within a person's major. but, outside of an individual major there are clubs that are accpeting to religion, nationality, and other things, as well as activities.

    there are many restaurants and stores around that are inexpensive. for example, checkers, burger king, popeyes, and my favorite bethune grill which is a place that has very good chicken dipped in their special sauce.

    being on campus is fun itself, but aside that bethune-cookman have activities to engage the students in a healthy well-being such as zumba, social workshops, and holiday events that.

    the food and dining on bethune-cookman university is very good. they have different types of food everyday that is prepared by gourmet chefs, there are different vendors as well. lastly, there are also activities they do in the cafeteria to entertain the students on special days or occasions.

    dorm life upon bethune-cookman university is wonderful, there are many dorms on campus based on gpa. but, each and every ra is welcoming as well as the dorm manager. they provide comfort and activities within each dorm that is very accepted by the students here.

    academically, bethune-cookman is very well trained with top professors that will make sure you earn what you deserve even if you are struggling; there would be other options in maintaining a high gpa.

    There are plenty of security guards that are serious about protecting the lives of the students.

    I'm not a part of a fraternity however the greeks here at BCU practice Greek unity and are a part of the livliness of the campus.

    The are hundreds, yes HUNDREDS of activities to get involved with on campus. From the amazing band the Marching Wildcats , Dance teams, Writing Clubs, Mentoring programs and even Christian clubs.

    There's always security patrolling the campus for our safety. Twenty hours of the day and night.
    Greek Life

    The greeks swarm the campus daily and put on shows weekly in the cafeteria during lunch hours.

    There seems to be all sorts of clubs and activities always going on all year round. Whatever you're interested in I'm sure there's a club that comes close to your interest.

    Energetic and active students will enjoy the campus life.

    It's a big field right beside a male dorm that many activites take place on. Track and field practice, cheerleading practice and try outs, band practice, flag football, rugby, and racing.

    Our band is phenomenal, whenever they're practicing it's always a big crowd of people just watching as if it was an actual performance.
    What to do for fun

    Most students go to the beach that is nearby or play basketball that's walking distance from the campus. Sitting outside enjoying the scenery is nice also.

    The cafeteria severs a very balanced diet. Not a lot of greasy food but instead a great deal of rice and other healthy food daily.

    A cleaning company comes everyday to clean the halls and bathrooms. Very well kept dorms.

    Academics are pretty good. I find each course to be well organized and challenging.

    Apply yourself in class from the very first day, the professors are very challenging and grade accordingly.

    Soon as you step on campus and see the buildings you'll fall in love. The grass is well taken care of, very green and healthy looking. Smiling faces and friend people just waiting to greet each other.

    bcu is always hosting something! there is fun on the quad and various activities thrown by sga and many different organizations on campus.

    Like every school things happen every now and then but nothing happens on the campus of Bethune-Cookman University which will stray you away from this great institution.
    Greek Life

    This is school which offers 16 Greek Life and service organizations. Easy to find one that you would like.

    This is a school which hold over 70 clubs and organizations. Some may be of service and others may be for social. Looking to get involved in the co-curriculum? This is a place to for you.

    This school is great for students who are willing to learn something new regarding cultures, first generation college students, and students who are willing to get involved.

    One of the best traditions on campus would be homecoming week and we have a residential hall step show where all the residents hall compete against each other and the being involved with band at football games here will never disappoint you.

    For this to be a small college institutions, the bang for the buck is amazing. There tends to be something for everyone on this campus.
    What to do for fun

    There is so much to do for fun, whether it is watching the band practice with fellow peers are attending one of the quad socials, there is normally something to do everyday. Considering that the beach is a five minute drive from the school, no you should ever be bored.

    Dining is descent, besides the hours of operation, every thing is okay.

    Residential life is not the best here but there has been improvements to them every year that I have been attending this institution.

    As long as a student tends not to procrastinate, this school would be perfect for them academically.

    Yes, the teachers take time to ask questions and give you a chance to ask quetions if you need to. They are willing to work with you one on one to make sure you understand everything you need to understand. They also allow you to contact them on their cellular devices.

    The tips I would give upcoming students who would want to attend Bethune Cookman is that coming here is work but it's so easily to get distracted so stay focus on your work and the actions you do because someone is always watching.

    I enjoy being at Cookman because of the environment that I'm surrounded by and the people. Being at Cookman would really reveal who you are and what you want in life. As I can say with do I enjoy it alot no because Cookman is so much money for no reason. The dorms are dirty and the food is disgusting. Why pay 21,000 for something that's not even worth it. The only reason I stay at Cookman is because of the people, the comunity, and they won't transfer any grades.
    Am learning a lot

    At the Great Bethune Cookman University I have learned throughout my year and a half there about my black history. The teachers from what I have learned is a little complicated but as you adjust things would get much better with you and your teachers and grades. The question is am I learning a lot at Bethune. In my opinion no because teachers doesn't focus on a topic and stick to what the assignment or task is or what needs to be done.

    BCU is very into greek life. there are plenty of opportunities for qualified students to join.

    a variety of clubs for different interest; pre-med society, christian clubs, video game club, etc.
    What to do for fun

    BCU provides a variety of student activities as well as transporation to those activities. Off campus there are clubs, the beach, malls and other popular hang out places.
    Food and Dining

    the school does have a cafeteria on the campus which is free for student that request a meal plan. there is also a seperate facility where you can purchase a meal, and fast food restaurants near by within walking distance. there ae also a variety of places that will deliver to the campus.
    Dorm Life

    dorms are small, but not too cramped. visit before you enroll so you know what your getting into.
    Academic Rigor

    professos are very profession. they will prompt you to do your best, but are also very understandign to different situations. tutoring is available on the campus for most classes and the professor typically have a very liberal open door policy if additional help is needed.

    visit prior to enrollment; inspect the dorms, ans if possible try the lunch facilities.     campus is pretty safe, nothing bad really ever happens here. as i stated before it's a really quiet peacefull environment, and besides everyone is typically friendly here.

    there are multiple greek organizations on campus. they have a strict no-hazing policy to abide by, so that will not be much of a problem. if you are someone who is definitely outgoing and personable, then i would consider joining a fraternity or a sorority

    things are pretty cheap here in daytona, so being on a budget will not be a problem. plus, everything is in close range of the campus.

    they are mutiple student organization on campus that holds events during the semester, primarily for freshman enjoyment. there is also the beach that is close by and a board walk with rides. there are also a few theme parks around along with the daytona nascar center. restaurants, movies, shopping, clubs, are all at your service.
    Food and Dining

    food here is not the best i must say. the best meals of the day would be breakfast and lunch; dinner has it moments. if your not a morning person like me, then you definitely want to try and catch lunch, or if you do not like the gourmet services that they provide you can always buy food from restaurants or the grocery store and store it inside your room.

    dorm life is ok, it can be tricky at times depending on the type of dorm you stay in. the best dorm would be the newly renovated dorms which will cost a little more than the regulars ones but it will be worth it. some dorms have community bathroom while others have a suite bathroom which simply means four persons to one bathroom. the rooms are pretty decents but they are not that big, so keep that in mind.

    professor can be really strict and adamant about student involvement in their academic work. classes can be really demanding at times, such as buying the right materials for the course, homework, labs, and depending on the professor you have outside involvement such as community services and other required forums; but as long as you try your best it will be fine.

    a really important tip would be, focus on your school work. always try and get your assignments done on time and handed in early, because it is so easy to slack off and be procrastinator. at bethune-cookman they are strict enforcer of students academic progression.

    there is a lot to do for fun at bcu. we have a great student government association that makes sure that there is always fun surrounding the campus when things seem to be getting stressful with classes. being in datyona beach, fl is also a fun experience. there is the beach and and different shopping facilities to go to.

    bethune-cookman is in daytona beach, about five minutes away from the beach. spring break in daytona is the place to be. not only that but there is also a board walk filled with rides, food, and events. across from that there's a water park n arcade, and go-kart station. you should never be bored, and these are only a few. more than likely bethune-cookman will have plenty for you to do anyways, like pep-rally, step shows, games, or even homework.

    the cafe is open for five meals on week days and three on weekends. there's up to six meals that you can choose. those who live on campus gets free meals through the day. of course its not like home cooked meals. it's still a tummy filling healthy meal served fresh everyday.

    Bethune-Cookman has a strict safety policy they don't allow girls and boys in each other rooms. Drugs,weapons, violence are three ways to get you kicked out for good no three strikes your out your do one of these three and your on the next bus home.     Bethune-Cookman is by far one of the BEST colleges to choose due to its location. Heard of the Daytona 500? it literally about 8min away Bethune is located off International Speedway Drive; but maybe you like to be active if you continue past Bethune-Cookman they is a Bridge that will take you to the Greatest Beach(this is the Beach name) often called Daytona Beach. Here you can run, bike, swim, play beach volleyball, enjoy the view, or go to the carnival. That's whats around Bethune but on campus they have a recreational center where you can work out, play games in the arcade room, or chill. Greek like is also big on campus as well as band, sports, etc.

    Unlike most campuses that through in fast food places to the dinning halls. Bethune-Cookman has its food catered by Gourmet; the reason being I think is to avoid freshman 15. Freshman 15 is where freshman gain weight due to there terrible eating habits. They also have a Bethune grill and local food places that you can go to off campus.

    Dorms I like them as I said before this is a historic school so the dorms have a historic look but inside they are modernized. They have laundry rooms in each on as well as lounges and some have computer labs in them. However on this campus there is only one co-ed dorm and your freshman year you will most likely be in one of the all girls or all boys dorm.

    Honestly since this is my first year I don't have a lot in this area but since I do live in Illinois I have had to do a lot of my admissions and financial aid via phone or web. But everyone I talked to has been friendly and directed me to what I need to do to have every thing set for the fall my major by the way is Computer Software Engineering.

Here you will take assessment test for class placing, campus tour, informational sessions, and much more.     If you was to blink you eyes five times while slowing spending around in a circle, you would see at less four different campus security. they are everywhere. They walk, the ride, they cruse. They only thing i haven't seen them do yet was fly, but trust me, i see them everyday all day.

    You can pretty much lave campus with your dorm door open, come back and all you belongings will still be there. Just last night we had a meeting concerning the peoples needs.     The campus is small and completely gated. Most buildings can not be accessed unless you have your student I.D. School events such as dances and athletic events have security present. There is a school security office on campus as well.

    All Divine Nine organizations are present on campus. There are also many service Greek letter organizations, and others such as Tau Beta Sigma, Phi Mu Alpha Musical Fraternity and Sigma Alpha Iota Music Fraternity for Women. There are many Greek letter events held on campus that promote community service and student involvement.
    Clubs and Activities

    There is virtually a club present for every student interest. There are modeling troupes, dance groups and various ethnic awareness groups. There are also opportunities for students to become involved with the Student Government Association, Model United Nations and various Honor Societies. There are also many sport teams present.
    Great for these types of students

    Students who are interested in playing football, volleyball, basketball, and softball. This school is for students who want to participate in one of the most well known and esteemed marching bands among Historical Black Colleges and Universities. Also students who want to attend a smaller school setting with small class sizes and want to enjoy the sunshine state!

    The dining experience tends to improve each year. I do not know how the food options are now. The variety increase with in two years of my attendance and the hours of operation were also extended. There is a cafe separate from the school cafeteria that serves other options for affordable prices.

    There is no co-ed visitation or co-ed living. There are more female dorms as opposed to male dorms due to the male to female ratio. New dorms have been built in the last few years however there are many other older dormitories. There is also a newer living complex for athletes.

    The level of rigor varies among major. The School of Business and Nursing are among the most rigorous. Of course I encourage students to advocate for their education and seek honor courses or more challenging courses. General education courses taken during the first two semesters were very basic.

    Be prepared for the hot weather. The school is very close to the beach so take advantage of the great location. Advocate for your education and often inquire about scholarships and financial aid as early at the start of each semester as possible.

Overall I would say that due to the fact that this University costs so much to attend, and is not trying to help me out (other that trying to get me into loans), I could definitely use, if not need the money from this scholarship; I rate Bethune-Cookman University at a 2 out of 5 for financial assistance.

    Bethune- Cookman University securities are always on standby and our security office sits in the middle of our campus. You should not have to worry about being harmed in any way, shape, or form.

    Greek life is open to anyone who is interested. However, you cannot pledge as a Freshman, because of the academic requirements. Also, Greek Life is fun to watch and the people involved are friendly individuals who do not mind helping you with earning community service hours, or helping you with your assignments.

    Always remember there are problems at every institution, so do not transfer from one institution to another; just because there was a brawl or incident that you did not expect to happen. Also, remember to remain aware of your surroundings, and you may think you have friends on campus, but at the end of the day you are in college to get an education.

    Make sure you get involved with student organizations on campus. You can always sit on the quad and relax with your friends; an area set up in the front of the Freshman dorms. On Wednesday's you can go to the Cafeteria and hang out with friends, while listening to the DJ play music. Also, there are always parties off campus that you could attend.

    The Cafeteria is set up in a relaxing setting, but always remember to have food available in your dormitory, because there are times when the food is not going to be as tempting as you expect it to be.

    Going to beach side is your best bet at any fun in Daytona but everything shuts down around 11 except for the clubs. But on campus they advertise activities but its not that many on the weekends.

LLC is a huge girls dorm which consist of three halls with three lobbies and a huge parking lot. Lee rhyant is for gpa's of 3.0 and above and its also extra money. The three dorms on campus are cozy because its close to the Greek trees on the quad and its also closer to classes and the dining hall. There literally in the middle of all the excitement. There's also two Guys Dorm, Bronson and Levere there by the band field and the music building so there extremely close to every building on campus.

    The professors are very understanding and responsible, when it comes to work that needs to be graded or reviewed. Each professor has office hours, emails, and phone numbers that students can contact them in case of any questions.

    Daytona Beach is a small city with minimal to do. There's the beach of course and clubs. It's a great location, Orlando is 45 minutes away and that's where things pop. I like to find my own fun in Daytona. Stay active around campus!

    The cafe is always the main complaint of students. The options in the cafe and on campus are minimal. The Cub Cafe is good but not always open. There are no vendors (McDonalds, Subway, etc) on campus. Got to work on that.

    I lived in Curtis Hall my freshman year for the first month, and I loved the coziness and convenience of the dorm. I did not like the community bathrooms. The brand new dorms opened up and I moved (suite-style). BCU needs to get apartment-style dorms and offer on-campus vendors.

    BCU is founded on the great qoute, Enter to Learn, Depart to Serve. It's above most doorways around campus and we try to live up to that qoute. Classes are the standard college course workloads but it also depends on your major. BCU could offer more non-traditional majors.

    The cafeteria isn't very inviting but it has good days. Always create a relationship with your professor, they will help you. Don't be intimidated by the Greek organization members and steer clear of the locals. Get involved!

    There is mold in most of the dorms and they don't do anything about it besides spray bleach and water. Curtis hall has the smallest dorm space, Joyner I think is the biggest.

    The classes vary depending on who your professors are, most of my professors gave scheduled work so we knew what was coming it was a matter of doing it in a timely manner.
    Tips for prospective students

    Keep a planner and calender and write down everything even if you think you won't forget!

    BCU has a close knit family feeling when you step on campus. It is small andd full of history. The professors are there to see you achieve.

    we have the Divine 9 at Bethune as well as several SPOACS

    We have a large variety of clubs from Dance Teams to performing arts Band sports and different leadership groups based on interest religion and ethic background
    Great for these types of students

    If you are looking for a school where you not just a number come to Cookman. Where is every student has a name and a story that someone wants to here. We are a very family orientated university and it feels good to know everyone.
    Bang for the buck

    I would say the money is worth it because there is soo much more money you could be paying for a university and don't even get acknowledged by your professors.
    What to do for fun

    For fun around campus I stay active. Join a group or a club explore Daytona Beach there is more that reaches the eye.

    We recently have a new food provider in the caf as well as a new caf and both of which are Delicious.

    Dorm Life is just that, Bethune has built a new co ed dorm with a caf on inside and in the process of building a new all boys dorm leaving the school 5 boy dorms and 6 women dorms.

    Academics at The Great Bethune Cookman University differs by major and teacher choose wisely and what you know you can handle.

    Check your email regardly for scholarships or other oppurtunties that the school may offer. Go to class and get to know the professors on campus they will be of help to you later on down the line.

    Well, you are in Florida, so there its a lot to do for fun. Also, there is numerous of organizations on campus that provides activites during the week and weekend.

    Honestly, when I first came to the school the food was not so great, but Cookman is on the rise. We just this year implemented a new cuisine and it truly superb!

    I stayed on the dorm for the first two years of college. I suggest all freshmen to live on the dorm because it gives you a foundation that you will depend on for the rest of your years in undergraduate through all the connection you make.

    I do not believe the curriculum is to extreme, but it does challenge you if you put your best foot forward. Your education at Bethune-Cookman is what you make of it!

    Do not forget your purpose. Be open to a new experience. Love the opportunity of getting a college education because everyone does not have this opportunity.

    What to do for fun

    There so much to do for fun, you can go on the quad and hangout with your friends. You can go to the game room and play different games or you can even walk to the beach and have fun over there. There's always some type of activity going on in Daytona.
    Food and Dining

    Bethune Cookman has a new revamped cafeteria so their food is much better now. We now have a WoW cafe along with the regular cafeteria. WoW cafe is another place you can eat when your tired of eating cafeteria food, WoW has a different variety. If you don't want to have either you can have food in your dorm as well.
    Dorm Life

    Dorm life is fine you just have to get a good roommate that you'll get a long with. The RA's are very helpful and if you have a problem they try to help you solve it immediately. When you're a incoming freshman you have a curfew so you have to be in your dorm before 12am or you'll be fined.
    Academic Rigor

    Academics is key, when your first attending college your advisor makes your schedule so you're guaranteed to get the classes you need. Incoming students also have to attend seminar classes because Bethune Cookman is a Christian college and they want their students to keep intouch with their faith, during seminar you also get financial advice as well. If you get a letter grade of a C or lower you have to visit you advisor immediately so they can get you assigned a tutor so you can get back on track.
    Tips for prospective students

    When you first get to Bethune Cookman everyone is very helpful and nice, they have a whole week dedicated to the incoming freshmans. The thing that incoming students have to keep in mind is their academics and BCU make sure of that because all incoming students are assigned a advisor that emails them regularly. Also students should never go anywhere alone, always make sure you have a friend with you.

    Bethune Cookman University is a great college for any student to attend. You would never want to sit in your dorm because the school always have fun activities going on. Summer has just started and I'm already ready to reattend Bethune Cookman for my second year.
