    Biola is great for students that are interested in Christian ministries, medical fields, liberal arts, or arts and media.
    Tips for prospective students

    If you want to be a part of a community that will challenge and encourage you to be excellent in whichever field you choose, you will love it at Biola. However, if you are not a Christian and are not willing to be a Bible minor, Biola is not for you, as these are requirements for all students.
    Bang for the buck

    Biola is very expensive and, at times, difficult to pay for. However, having class with the professor who actually wrote the book we're reading is amazing and makes me feel that my tuition dollars are being used well.
    Am enjoying being here

    Being a resident at Biola is a huge part of the college experience for me! I love living with friends in a community that is committed to moral excellence. Most students who live at Biola want to be here and have not been forced or manipulated to come, which makes resident life very fun. I'm enjoying it so much that I'm going to be an RA next year!
    Am learning a lot

    I have learned more during my Freshman year at Biola than I did any other year of high school. Not only have I been challenged in my Bible, General Education, and Intercultural Studies classes, but I have learned how a college student needs to prioritize academics, which includes good study habits.

    Those who want to be stretched mentally and relationally and who want to have an impact on the world. Not great for those who are being made to attend school and would rather party.
    Tips for prospective students

    Biola has said that they'll never turn away a student who fits the basic qualifications (one is that the student be a Christian) and genuinely wants to go. So apply!

    Biola is very expensive. However, the quality of education is good and the community is wonderful. Get scholarships, get financial aid, but don't be afraid to go.
    Am enjoying being here

    I get homesick being three thousand miles from home, but not as much as you might think. The other students are almost universally friendly and willing to hang out and do favors. The cafeteria is cheap, filling, and delicious.
    Am learning a lot

    I attend the Torrey Honors Institute, a four-year program of reading and discussing the classics. It is a grounding in America's culture and thought and a means of discussing the good, the true, and the beautiful. All classes are taught by professionals in their fields, yet they care about the students and are always willing to spend time with us.

    This school is great for the student that wants to grow academically as well as spiritually with their colleagues. If your willing to step out of your comfort zone and try different things that God is calling you to then I say this is the school for you.

    A tip that I would give to prospective students that are looking at coming to Biola is not to come in with any expectations. The reason why I say that is because when doing that you are able to see the many great opportunities that Biola has to offer from mission trips to ministries. If you come in with expectations they are going to get Blown away.

    This is were the the down fall is for Biola. The tuition is very expansive especially during a time of an economic downfall. However, even though tuition is expensive Biola does a very good job at offer there student the maximum on their financial aid as well as loans and scholarships.

    I am really enjoying being here. I am a student that lived close enough to commute to Biola but I chose to live on campus. When making that decision I knew that it was going to be a shock not living at home anymore where my mom did most of the cleaning. When I arrived however I came to find out that the guys on my floor were really solid guys following after God's heart. I also realized that cleaning my room was not so bad after all. Well back to the dorm life. It has honestly change my spiritually so much due to the fact that you will be surrounded by people that want to grow with you in your walk with Christ weather your in the dorm or commuting. So I totally recommend coming and taking a tuor and checking out the student life for yourself.

    Wow what to say about Biola. First I want to start off by saying that I am learning a lot. The first thing that I have learned a lot about in my two years here at Biola is my walk with Christ and where he plays a role in my life. I feel that Biola does a great job at making sure their students grow spiritually and academically at the same time. The required 30 chapels a semester to me can be a little overwhelming at first but then you learn to love it because you get to worship God every day of the week. Then academically you still are growing in your spiritual walk but in a way that combines Christianity and Secular world views. So if your worried about how much you will learn Biola has you covered from the dorm life to the classroom life they got it all.

    As for most people here at Biola, we struggle with financial aid. Biola is no joke with money, it is highly expensive. Honestly, nobody has to worry, Biola has different kinds of contract that can be avilable for you and your family for paying off the tuition. You can always to work-study, outside employment, scholarship and/or etc.
    Am enjoying being here

    Being at Biola and othe Chritsitan believers help me become a better perosn. I believe that is why I enjoy being here. Not only does friends care about you, but professors as well. Professors who care about me and pray for me, I think are the most wonderful professors at this school. What I also enjoy about this school, is the clean, safe, and pretty campus. I really enjoy taking a walk at night or running around campus, quietly.
    Am learning a lot

    My experience in learning here at Biola is incredibly amazing. Biola has thought me how to manage my time and challenge me through the courses I take. For example, I am not a big fan with essays and I have always done poorly, but I have been improving and learning how to organize and proofread my paper here at Biola from a place called Writing Center at the library. It is free, and I often go to get my papers checked. Learning can be fun.

    This is a great place for students looking to attend a small and cozy university. It is a wonderful school for those searching to not only expand their knowledge in the general subjects, but also explore the roots and foundations of Christian Theology and strengthen their Faith in Christ. It is for those that are genuinely looking for Biblically Centered Education.
    Tips for prospective students

    Do not be discouraged by the different things you hear about the school. Go for yourself and get to know the place. Different people will have different opinions on what is great and what is not so great about the school. One thing is for sure though, most people have a positive opinion about how great Biola is! Don't believe me? Go see it for yourself! I trust you won't be disappointed.

    Please DO NOT let this intimidate you or keep you from enjoying one of the greatest experiences and blessings ever! Biola can be and is an expensive university, but IT IS really WORTH IT! The education received there is of top quality. You truly get what you paid for! It can be hard sometimes, but financial aid is ALWAYS available for those willing to make an effort. Don't give up on such a great school just because of the money. As a prospective student, Biola was way out of my league (money-wise), but deciding to give it a shot was the best decision I ever took! Trust me, you will NOT regret choosing Biola! The money will one way or another, always come, Biola will not! Think about it.

    What can I say about my time spent there? I would not want to attend anywhere else! The campus is small and warming. It is easy to get to know people and there are many activities year round that allow for the flourishing of great friendships with the most wonderful people ever. I cannot be more excited about returning to school after a long hot summer to see and spend time with great friends on a wonderful campus! Time spent here is time well spent! And do not even get me started on the buffet-style cafeteria! Like I said, time spent at Biola is definitely time well spent!

    A lot is an understatement to describe the amount of learning a student does at Biola. What is so unique and wonderful about this school is that you have the opportunity to receive top notch education from a high profile faculty on not only general subjects like math, English, and the sciences, but also on a wide variety of biblically based courses. Biola does not describe it's education as Biblically Centered for nothing. Education there really is biblically centered! There is not one class where Faith and Theology are not incorporated into the curriculum. Even though that might sound odd, learning about the bible in math class?!, it is most definitely not impossible. It is a great learning environment for those who are really interested in being prepared not only for their career of choice, but also in impacting the world for Christ!

    VISIT. You need to get a feel for it. You need to know what you are getting into. If you don't want to attend 30 chapels in a semester or take 30 units of Bible classes then consider going elsewhere. Don't come and try to fight the rules or get around them. It's not right and you won't win. You'll just get kicked out. KNOW WHAT YOU'RE GETTING INTO AND MAKE SURE YOU AGREE WITH THE CONTRACT.

    Pricey? Definitely. Worth it? For me, YES! It really depends on you. Anywhere you go really. If you are into school and want to learn then you will learn to be a god steward of money and appreciate the education. You can make the most of the money you invest or let it go to waste. It's up to you.

    Every dorm and floor has it's unique environment. So far, I've had a blast and met friends I know I will have for the rest of my life! There is always some event going on whether it be a sports game or art exhibit. Campus is never dull, especially with an egg hidden around campus that every dorm wants to find!
    Am learning a lot

    My professors care. I cannot say bad things about the Education major because my professors have been such a huge help! They really try to help us juggle school and play and life outside of Biola. They provide resources and help when needed. I am truly grateful for each of them. I am learning a lot, so much in fact that my mind would explode if it weren't built to process all this information! ;)

    - Be open to the growth that will inevitably happen - Don't let opportunities presented at Biola pass you by - You will be surrounded by intelligent, caring professors who are scholars in their field, ask questions! - Pour into others as your friends and professors pour into you - Have fun :)

    Yes, Biola is expensive. However, I would say it is definitely worth it. Just be aware of awards in your department you could potentially receive as well as scholarships outside school (use cappex!). There is a way to make the financial aspect of going to Biola work, you just need to be diligent in searching out aid. But it is definitely worth the work!

    I never thought I would like being at Biola so much. It amazed me how much I love the friends I have made, the faculty I have studied under, and the quality of the courses. Community is really important at Biola and integrity as a student is essential, and I think that those standards create an environment to learn and live in that inspires you to be all you were created to be. Being at Biola teaches you how to view God, yourself, and the world around you rightly so that you can graduate and impact that world with an eternal perspective. Bottom line: it's awesome.
    Am learning a lot

    The professors really care about the students, which makes the learning environment unlike any other large university! The Biblical studies classes range in size from 20-200 people, but in each, you feel the professor really wanting to connect with you personally and wanting to see you grow both academically and spiritually. All of the professors in all areas of study are dedicated to your growth and care deeply about each student they have in their classroom. Many even pray for their students individually on a daily basis! The general atmosphere and community on campus between faculty and students and among students is incredible!

    Be excited-Biola is such a welcoming community! My tip for prospective students would be to get involved on your floor, in clubs, in a missions trip, in a ministry, in chapel, or anyway you find fitting because the more involved the more you will enjoy your experience.

    Attending college tends to be an expensive process and Biola is no exception. The jobs and loans I've acquired to be at Biola are disheartening because of how much it takes out of me. Even though each semester is questionable whether I could return because of how much it costs, I would say it has been well worth it. I think this school is a great investment.
    Am enjoying being here

    There is simply no other place I would rather be than Biola University. Every opportunity my school is brought up I love sharing about my experiences in the honors program, in classes, in the dorm, in my major, and as an Resident Assistant. I thoroughly enjoy every aspect of my wonderful school!
    Am learning a lot

    This is my second year at Biola and I have learned a tremendous amount in regards to my major, my faith, myself, and the Bible. Because of the Communication Disorders program I have enjoyed learning, knowing that I will be able to become a speech pathologist. I have also grown an unexplainable amount in my faith and have become more self- aware throughout the daily situations, chapels, and challenges Biola presents. I've learned in the Bible classes as well, they have been an opportunity to see God in different angles and to be so in awe of His Majesty. In addition to all this, I was in Torrey Honors Institute my Freshman year (which is equivalent to a prestigious school) and now value learning so much that after class some days my heart would be racing praises to God that He gave me the capacity to understand a glimpse of how much there is to know.

    If your parents can provide a car for you to use, it's helpful. It's not necessary because there is the grocery store and pharmacy walking distance from campus. A car makes it easier to go other places, but the chances are that you'll find a way to get there within your group.

    Biola is pretty expensive, but I would say that the atmosphere and community make it so worth it to go to Biola.

    There is such a great community in the dorms and all over campus. Each dorm has multiple all hall events that cam help you get to know the people in your dorm. Then the floors have events that include the Biola tradition of GYRAD (Get Your Roommate A Date) and floor retreat plus others. There are many opportunities for fun.
    Am learning a lot

    Biola has pretty much everything you could want in a Christian college. There is great community in the dorms along with the entire campus. The Biblical Studies department has wonderful teachers that make the 30 units apply to your life and more than just a requirement.

    Although Biola University is a bit expensive as a private and Christian university, the price for this university is worth the education, the self-growth, and future opportunities that it provides. As long as the student is pursuing scholarships and financial aid, completing the FAFSA on time, and working toward the funds for this education, then all the needs will be met.

    Everything that I expected Biola University to be according to the website, to current students, and to my campus visit was completely accurate. It is rewarding to have students to want to use their careers to serve Jesus Christ and to have others be learning together but also worshipping together.

    I am continually learning far more than I have in high school. It is important for me to learn not only for my future career but to learn according to my Christian lifestyle and Biola University provides that. Each professor is a professing Christian and provides a Christian outlook on each and every career field that any student would pursue.

    Strong Christians or Christians seeking to be strengthened. Do not attend Biola if your parents are forcing you or if they are going to write your statement of faith. The rules here, they are not a burden, they are a gift to help us all encourage one another in our walk with the Lord.

    Remember that this is a wonderful privilege and treat every day as such and not as a drudgery. Make sure to make good friends who will support you. Become friends with at least two professors, they are awesome. Never be afraid to ask for help, someone is always available.

    So... it's expensive. If it was a few thousand less that would be nicer, but despite that, Biola is 100% worth every penny.

    Every single professor takes a personal interest in your learning. That drives me to succeed. I love that we start most of my classes with prayer, dedicating our search for truth to God. God has truly used Biola to change my life. The only downside for me is that I never really got involved in dorm life so I feel a little out of the loop. But if you do get involved and invest in your dorm, it is totally worth it.

    I am a physics major (was engineering) and every semester I get faced with these mind boggling physics classes explaining how the universe works. It's crazy! But so awesome. Half the time I have no idea what is going on, but then I'll sit and pepper the professor with all my questions and then it all makes sense. Plus, the Bible classes, they blow my mind every class period. It's too good.

    Campus Safety

    La Mirada, CA is ranked as one of the safest cities in California, and there is well-trained Campus Safety staff that patrol the campus at night, and are available 24/7.
    Greek Life

    Biola does not have a Greek system.
    Clubs and Activities

    There is a large variety of clubs at Biola including Cheese club, Star Wars club, Film Music guild, and many more.

    Biola is great for students of Christian faith, with a desire to be equipped to impact the world for Jesus Christ.
    Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

    Every year Biola has an event called Mock Rock. Mock Rock is a big lip-syncing and dancing competition where students form teams and compile a playlist of songs that follow a story line.
    Bang for the buck

    In my opinion Biola is worth every penny due to it's deep spiritual intimacy. The spiritual life department does a great job at organizing chapel events and conferences to help students explore their faith. It's impossible to put a price on a closer relationship with God.
    What to do for fun

    Biola is located in Southern California and Disneyland and Knott's Berry Farm are only 20 minutes away from campus! So a lot of students get annual passes and go on their free time. The beach is real close too, and there is a dancing hot spot called Memories that has $3 swing dancing on monday nights!
    Food and Dining

    Biola has all its food prepared by a gourmet catering company called Bon Apetit. The cafeteria has a good variety of choices including a Pizzeria, and 6th St. Grill. There's even gluten free options.
    Dorm Life

    Every dorm on campus has something special about it. Biola is known for it's friendly, close-knit community. Each dorm has a lobby, kitchen, and laundry room. The campus also has quiet hours from 10pm-8am. So there is no need to worry about loud music or parties at night.
    Academic Rigor

    Biola has a pretty high level of academic rigor, but that mostly depends on the professors you choose. For example; my English Lit. and Composition class was not much harder than my high school AP English Lit. class. Also each student is required to take 30 units of theology classes.
    Tips for prospective students

    Don't be afraid to communicate with your professors outside of the classroom. There are some really amazing professors at Biola who are willing to pray with you, and chat over a cup of coffee.
    In three sentences

    Biola is a private Christian university that does a superb job at integrating faith and education. The campus has an outstanding community and noteworthy faculty and staff who deeply care about student growth. I came to Biola in hopes of growing stronger in faith and to major in music; I've achieved this and so much more in just one year of attendance!

    If you want to go here try to get decent grades because they give out many academic scholarships which help a lot since the school is so expensive.

    It's an extremely expensive school, I am not sure any school should be worth more than $20,000 a year and Biola is double that!

    I love being at Biola everyday. The people are so kind, the teachers care a ton, and the campus is beautiful. I personally play a sport and I really recommend either getting involved in a sport at Biola or trying to get involved in clubs or such to get to know people because everyone is just so great!

    I have never learned as much about life and about myself as I have in college. I know this sounds like a comment about any and every college, however at Biola you learn so much more. Biola is a religious centered school and it's focus on God is very obvious. I have learned so much from every teacher and every student about how to be a better person and how to live a life that is more full and less focused on partying and achievements.

    This is a Christian school! On the application you need to make a profession of faith. Students also seeking a very good community, this is the school to attend.
    Tips for prospective students

    Go to as many chapels as you can at the beginning of the semester so you are not rushing to get them in during finals. Use the study guides provided by your professors to prepare for your tests.
    Bang for the buck

    Tuition is on the expensive side because it is a private school and NOT funded by the state. If you live on campus you are also required to have a meal plan, which can get expensive.

    Dorm life here is amazing! Plus there are a lot of activities that happen on campus, and encourage involvement. La Mirada is also considered one of the safest cities, so you do not have to worry too much about your safety.

    The professors here are experts in their fields and their teaching reflects their skill levels. The class sizes are smaller, allowing for more of an interaction with your professor.

    If you want to be a missionary/pastor, nurse, involved in business, in the film industry, in psychology, or music definitely check out Biola. If you're interested in taking care of you gen ed credits through the socratic method rather than lecture check out Torrey Honors.
    Tips for prospective students

    Take advantage of early action deadlines in November and January. They won't just let you get the application out of the way, but they also give you a better chance at acceptance and scholarships.

    One of the biggest things holding people back from Biola is the cost. Even with scholarships most of us will leave with debt, but I know I'm also going to leave with an amazing, Christ-centered education and deep friendships that will last a lifetime. Definitely worth it.

    I love this school! I'm from Canada so I'm far away from home, but this really does feel like home. The all-Christian community makes it feel like family.

    Biola offers an amazing opportunity to learn from an Biblical perspective. I'm not only learning a lot about standard subjects and my major, but I'm learning how God fits in with it all.     biola has an extremely safe campus. our campus safety program is very good. they are always driving around campus and they currently upgraded to a biking system. if you ever need help, you can call campus safety and they will be there within minutes.

    there are several different clubs on campus. every couple of months there is a club fair on campus to let students see what clubs are out there. there are also lots of intramural sports if you would like to play a sport but you don't want to be on a varsity team.

    one tradition is the egg. the egg is a large concrete egg that is hidden somewhere on campus. if you find it, you can take it back to your dorm, have your floor redecorate it, and hide it somewhere new for someone else to find. this tradition has been a part of biola for many years.

    if you are looking for a great education and new growth in your walk with god, biola is the place for you. the professors are obviously there to each you, but they are also always there for spiritual direction.
    What to do for fun

    there are tons of restaurants close to campus. there is also a dollar theatre right down the street. there are three starbucks within a mile of biola, and there are also two coffee shops on campus. biola hosts a few fun activities throughout the school year such as nation ball - which is an all campus dodge ball game. there is also an all campus water gun fight.

    biola has a great cafeteria. it is catered by the same catering company used by the getty museum. there is a large range of choices so your tummy will almost always be happy. there is also a variety of meal plans so you can find the one that is just right for you.
    Dorm Life

    i highly recommend living in the dorms. you are sure to make great friends and live in a community who is happy to have you with them. the residence assistants are awesome and are always there if you need someone to guide you either spiritually, academically, or even personally. people on your floor are always there to have fun or lend a listening ear. there are often fun activities that involve everybody in the dorm which allow you to meet even more people.

    biola has incredible professors. some are much more difficult than others, but you will receive a great education if you work hard in the class.

    biola has a very large variety of majors. make sure you choose the one that is right for you! also, living on campus is a great way to get involved and make friends. if you are not sure if biola is the school for you, go to spring preview day, biola bound, or other fun events that biola puts on for prospective students. once you come to biola, make sure you take advantage of all of the great chapel opportunities.

    you have several options on campus. usually the caf is where you go for meals, but eagles also has meals you can buy, along with the two coffee shops on campus. otherwise, there's plenty of fast food and restaurants only a few minutes from campus.

    most biola classes have a good balance of work to class time. academics isn't easy, but it's not impossible either.

    There are tons of clubs and activities available and new ones always pop up. Every once in a while we also have club fairs available to find out about all the club opportunities such as adventure club, shy writers guild, various ministries, cheese club, etc...
    What to do for fun

    We are only 15 minutes from disney land and approximately 30 minutes from any big cities, so that leaves a lot of options. On campus there really isn't much going on except watching movies and hanging out in dorms.
    Food and Dining

    The food in the cafeteria is really good and hard to get sick of because there is always the option of making your own sandwich or quesedia or something else. Plus there is always ice cream!
    Dorm Life

    Each dorm definitely has its own dynamic, but as a whole the community is very good. We have brother and sister floors, floor events, get your roommate a date, etc.

    The classes aren't exceptionally hard, although one does have the option of an honors program.

Usually what I do for fun is going to the dollar theatre about 5 minutes away from campus, going to the huge mall about 10 mins away, there's Disneyland about 15 minutes away, Huntington Beach 30 mins away, swing dancing about 15 mins away, and I love to go hiking about an 1 and 15mins away from San Gabriel Mountains (great to hike!)

    Food is pretty good. We're catered by Bon Appetite which now caters big time companies! Have gluten free options, and vegetarian options too. Oh, and the bagels are wonderful !

    AMAZING community! You honestly really can feel like your are in a family here. Everyone is always encouraging growth is a a support system. As an out of stater I can definitely say I have felt at home and made friends very easily.

    It's sure expensive, but it is such a great school that the cost is almost worth every penny. I personally thing college is too expensive as a rule, but this institution earns the asking price.

    There are movie theaters around, the town of Brea has a whole assortment of attractions like an old fashioned ice cream parlour, two movie theaters, and a big mall. Also, the beach and Disneyland are only a half hour away!

    The cafeteria and the coffee shops have really good food. However, their vegetarian selection is a but lacking.

    The Dorm community is amazing! There are floor events every weekend it seems and some of the halls put on amazing annual/seasonal events.

    The Bible classes are phenomenal, as are the major-focused classes. The General Education courses can seem a little mediocre, but they are taught by adjunct faculty so it's a little bit of hit or miss with those.

    Figure out your financial and scheduling items IN ADVANCE. Do not leave any of the logistical paperwork, scholarships, or forms until the last minute. You WILL forget about them.

    Academic-development-and-spiritual-development-wanting students. People who prefer community over super-hardcore academics (that doesn't mean that you shouldn't study and not consider the above comment about academic rigor).

    Oh man. Put a bucket of chalk out in the middle of the pavement one day and there's an explosion of creativity and weirdness before the sun goes down haha. Biola has a lot of little quirks here and there, but nothing TOO bizarre. I guess.... You'll have to see it for yourself (;

    So I'll be honest, Biola is expensive haha. In spite of the scholarships and financial aid I got, I still had to take out quite a hefty amount of loans. However, I haven't once regretted attending such an expensive school. I've learned so much over the course of one year and have made friends that I am certain I will have for the rest of my life. Yeah I'll probably have to work super hard to pay back my student loans, but I think it's worth it.
    What to do for fun

    DOLLAR THEATER! I love that place hahaha. Movies that are two weeks old for $2-something, which is pretty awesome. Off of Imperial Hwy, there's a lot of shops and things you could do. If you go a little further, you'll find Brea Mall. The beach isn't too far away (like a 20-ish minute drive) so if you have a car, or a friend with one, it shouldn't be too bad.
    Food and Dining

    The Caf as everyone here calls it, is buffet-styled. There are usually a variety of meals available. You can get sick of the food here (I'm Asian, so I'm more accustomed to Asian food so maybe that's why...) but there's plenty of eateries outside campus so you should be fine.
    Dorm Life

    Okay, the dorms are pretty alright. I dormed in Sigma during freshman year, and I personally liked it a lot. There are newer dorms and ghetto-er dorms, but I think it's a matter of preference. Sigma is one of the older dorms, but it's suite-styled (meaning you share a bathroom between your room and your neighbor) instead of community, so it was comfortable. I was able to get along with my hall really well too, and we had our get-togethers and outings and stuff so it was nice. All dorm halls are single-gender by default, but there are OPEN HOURS (meaning that the opposite gender can hang out in your room/hall on certain days of the week for a certain amount of hours) so if that's a big no-no for you, you should consider off-campus housing or something else.
    Academic Rigor

    Biola works in a semester system, not quarter--like most UC's and some CalStates. However, this doesn't mean that it's academic requirements automatically becomes easy. The nursing program here is VICIOUS (my roommate was a nursing major and she would literally need to have a mental breakdown day every two weeks). If you're naturally lazy and a procrastinator, you will struggle, semester system or not. Bible classes usually require a lot of reading (duh, it's the BIBLE as well as commentaries on the Bible) so you'll have to be able to manage your time well.
    Tips for prospective students

    Do all of your financial aid stuff--FAFSA, loans, etc.--EARLY. Check out the campus (there's a program called Biola-Bound that you can look into) and see if it fits your taste and liking. If you can, talk to some of the staff members on campus and ask them questions and they'll most likely be happy to oblige.

    There are lots of fun Biola traditions. Biola is also less than an hour from the beach, half an hour from Disneyland, and half an hour to an hour from Downtown LA.

    The caf is GREAT. Kind of pricey, but great. They have lots of options for each meal (salad bar, sandwich bar, 2 grill options, one home cooking option, pizza, and one chef's table fancier option), and there is a large amount of gluten free food available for those with allergies. There is also a restaurant (Eagle's), a coffee shop (Common Grounds), and a mix between the two (The Talon) on campus that take cash if you do not want to use/do not have a meal plan.

    Dorms are a great place to destress between classes, make friends, have fun, and do many silly things. They're great. Each dorm has a distinct feel, which just makes life fun.
    Academic Rigor

    Like many schools, you can slip by and do the bare minimum, but if you really do what your professors ask you to, you will be challenged to learn and grow deeply.

    There are wide varieties of choices when dining at Biola. The most popular is the Cafeteria (a.k.a the Caf) where the menu is switched up throughout the week. If no menu items are of interest, there is always the option of the pizzeria, salad bar, and sandwich making stations. Other places to dine on campus include Eagles Nest (takeout), Commons (coffee/drinks), and The Talon (coffee/drinks/food).

    Dorm life at Biola is well-organized and ensures each resident has what they need to have a memorable stay in the dorms. There are numerous dorm events (such as all halls or GYRAD's-get your roommate a date) so that residents have ways of getting their minds off of stress or schoolwork.

    The workload is a lot but it is well worth it in the end. Biola students are required to take a certain number of Bible classes to obtain a minor in Theological Studies before graduation. In each of these classes, so much knowledge is gained and the experience would not be the same if the classes were only optional.     Some people complain about campus safety being ridiculous, but I have never seen any reason to think so. In fact, I'm very pleased with how non-intrusive they are and how much space and freedom they let the students have, while still making the campus feel secure. Thumbs up for campus safety.

    There are a ton of clubs on campus (rugby club being the newest addition, I believe) and activities are always going on.

    Great for students who love the Lord and love the sun. In regards to Torrey (the honors program), it's great for students who love to read. We read a lot of books in Torrey (that's what it's all about). But the Torrey community is amazing and full of some incredible, fun-loving people. So, you'd better love books AND people.

    There is a wall called the Jesus mural on one side of the science building, as you are walking into the Caf. It is a giant, beautiful mural of Jesus Christ holding a Bible out in front of him and looking up to heaven. It was re-finished this past year by the original artist, and it is one of Biola's signature landmarks. Oh, and our president is known on campus as DBC (Dr. Barry Correy). He is an incredible guy and loves his nickname.

    What to do for fun

    Play pool in the Student Union Building, go to Berry Cool, go to Disneyland, go to Huntington Beach, go to sporting events, go to dorm events and GYRADS (get your roommate a date), participate in intramural sports (ultimate frisbee!!), hang out with friends in Holy Joe's, or play Settlers of Catan in the dorm lobby.

    Biola has a great Cafe that students call The Caf. It's buffet style dining with different themed stations. The selection is impressive, and the food is satisfying. Biola has two other eateries/coffee shops on campus, and the food plan allows you to use flex points (extra dollars) on food or drinks in those locations, as well.

    Of course, some dorms are better than others when it comes to spirit and fellowship (Hart and Emerson, especially, are known for it), but there are always dorm events going on, the RAs are fantastic, and the people can't be beat, so what is there to complain about? Oh, and the facilities themselves are very nice.

    Definitely not ivy league status, but still respectable. The Torrey Honors program offers a bit more of a challenge, but As are not uncommon.

    Weather ended up being a huge factor for me in how well I enjoyed school, and Biola's So Cal location did not disappoint. There is plenty of sun, it rarely rains, and it never dips below 50 degrees, which is nice considering all the walking you'll be doing around campus (though I still wouldn't neglect bringing plenty of sweaters and jackets!)

    Biola is really expensive so you must really be dedicated to going and know why you are going for you to really get a lot of out it. If you know why you are going and have set path that involves Biola I recommend it even though tuition is highly pricey. It may be expensive, but it is worth it.
    What to do for fun

    Many times you can always count on a great time when your dorm floor puts on a themed party to get to know each other. Also, because Biola has such a great Gym, many bands come to play at Biola so that is always great. Also the campus coffee shop and restaurant is a great hangout for students.

    Biola, I believe actually has one of the best cafeterias in the State. I have eaten there many times--and may more to come--and let me tell you: the food was delicious. So good the freshmen fifteen might be highly applicable to all attending. Biola has delicious food and has a wide variety of choices.

    So far, I have had people debate over which Dorm I should be in because everyone enjoyed their specific dorm so much, they have some sort of territorial feeling towards. From what I have heard, and observed, Dorm life at Biola is a great experience. Meeting new people and living with new people is always an experience in its self.

    So many people have informed me of Biolas difficult academic life, and so that makes me happy to know that I will be challenged. While you can take a lot of great classes, Biola still maintains its rigorous academic status. I have not taken a class there, but most everyone has told me that it is not an easy school.

    Apply for many scholarships because Biola is not cheap. While it may be expensive, it is worth it. Do not be bogged down by the price.

    Ambrose Pizzeria, located within walking distance of the school, offers HUGE slices of pizza for 2-3 dollars. One small slice can feed two people easily. A large slice can feed three to four. Amazing value.

    Located 20 minutes from Disneyland, 30 minutes from the beach, 30 minutes from downtown L.A., and a little over an hour from the mountains, with a water park right next door. There's no shortage of fun things to do.

    Let's be real. Biola is expensive. Their best scholarships are for academically excellent high school students as well as transfers. They also offer multiple scholarships who are dependents of people working in full-time Christian ministry. Few students are paying the full price for their tuition. You can find a way.

    It's LA. If you have a little money, many students invest in a season pass to disneyland, which is only a few minutes away. There are also regular concerts from famous rockstars to brilliant classical musicians (see Itzhak Perlman at the famous disney concert hall for only a few dollars) If you are on a tighter budget, there are 2 beautiful parks close by, a community pool, an abundance of community activites. There is a $2 theatre within walking distance, a shopping mall within a 10 minute drive (to which biola offers a free shuttle several times a day).
    Food and Dining

    supposedly the 5th best-rated college cafeteria in the US. I'd believe it. It's not difficult to reach the infamous freshman 15 on this campus because the food is so good. Every day predictably offers pizza, 7 flavors of cereal, coffee, tea, ice cream and an assortment of pastries. There is also a variety offered through the day from home-style meals (meatloaf, potatoes, spaghetti etc...) There is a weekly sushi night, taco night and special sunday-sundae bar. Regardless of the meal there is always a soup, salad and sandwhich bar, leaving plenty of room for students to customize their meals.
    Dorm Life

    Dorms here function much like Fraternities/Sororities on other campuses. They are centers of socialization. Each dorm competes with the others in a system of points through the year, eventually deciding the winner of a house cup. Dorms are large, well-maintained and staffed with RAs and RDs who are engaged and aware but not overbearing. Overall excellent.
    Academic Rigor

    Varies by program. This school is reputable for Pre-medicine, Psychology, Theology (obviously) and is up and coming for business. If you are looking for a unique and challenging approach to general education, investigate the Torrey Honors Institute within the university which offers a great-books program, taught Socratically and overseen by the brightest professors at Biola.
    Tips for prospective students

    -Don't apply if you do not hope for a school which integrates faith in every aspect. -Living on campus is ideal in this community because the campus serves a a tiny, self-sufficient city, complete with 3 coffee shops. -If you are looking for a more challenging academic environment, consider applying for the Torrey Honors Institute within Biola.

    Hang out on campus (by the fountain, the SUB (student union building), or Commons (coffee shop)), see a movie at the dollar theater, go to one of the numerous nearby beaches, travel to downtown LA and see the sights there, visit the Getty art museum or the Griffith Observatory (both free), Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm, and lots more!

    Lots of variety, lots of friendly workers, lots of yummy food, and did I mention there's lots of variety? My only critique would be that it can get crowded in our cafeteria during the busy lunch and dinner hours, due to our growing population of students.

    Again, this depends on what dorm you are in and your RAs (resident assistants). They plan the events your dorm goes on, so try to go to as many as possible for the best dorm life. I made the mistake of not going to the first few events, and I missed out on some close friendships I could have had.

    This depends on the classes you take, but most of mine, though they didn't always deal with challenging material, require hard work and dedicated time.

    Don't procrastinate on chapels! The requirement really isn't that much and most of the chapels are very interesting, but I see so many students procrastinate and end up having to do lots of makeups at the end of the semester. It's just another stress to add to finals week that could easily be avoided. Also, don't be afraid to join clubs and meet with teachers! The key to a successful college career is to be seek out people and adventures yourself - don't wait for things to just fall into your lap because they won't.

    Biola is a beautiful community located on a beautiful campus underneath the Southern California sun and within 45 minutes of the beach! The people here really make the school, from our celebrity-like president (affectionately called DBC) to the lovable custodians who treat you like their own kids.     What to do for fun

    There is so much to do in the area! Two of the most popular places are the beach (30 minutes) and Disneyland (15 minutes)! Also, downtown Fullerton provides a lot of options for cute little shops and coffee shops where many students go to study.

    There are several options for dining at Biola however the main option is the Cafe. It is an all-you-can-eat set up and has great food and many options daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Also on campus is a little cafe that has fewer options but great food as well! There is a coffee shop right next door and a food truck that makes appearances. All food shops use a meal plan and flex points that act as money and is placed on your student ID card.
    Dorm Life

    The dorm staff is adamant about developing community and they are so successful! There are no mixed gender floors but only separated floors. There are many mixers, floor retreats, and random gatherings in the hall happening weekly!
    Academic Rigor

    Biola challenges each and every student. It is the hardest work I have ever had to do but the most enlightening. Professors are so engaging and caring about the students and demand that work is to be done honestly. No matter what major, each student must complete a certain amount of Bible credits. These classes are so amazing!

    My primary advice is prayer! Prayer is so important in deciding on which college to go to. Also, visit Biola! There are so many opportunities to sit in on classes and even engage with the Biola community. Finally, research what Biola has to offer and ask questions! Admissions staff are so kind and can find any answer for you.

    What to do for fun

    If you're looking for a big party school where you can get the full college experience, then Biola is not the school for you. However, partying is not the only way to have fun in college. Biola is located down in southern California near LA! Disneyland is only ten minutes away from Biola, Korea town isn't too far off either. Korean BBQ!
    Food and Dining

    The food is good but not the best. Biola does make the effort to provide the healthiest choices for the students but sometimes it can be a bit repetitive and after a while you tend to get sick of it.
    Dorm Life

    Dorm life is great! The campus isn't so big that it makes it super inconvenient for students to go back and forth from their dorms to classes. Each floor has its own theme and has great RA's who do their best to unite and bring together everyone on each floor as brothers and sisters of Christ.
    Academic Rigor

    In terms of admissions, Biola is not too rough. But does that make it an easy school in general? No it does not. This is college, guys. You've got to work hard whether the school is highly renowned or not. The academics in Biola without a doubt builds up and elevates the spiritual and intellectual proficiency of most students.
    Tips for prospective students

    Choose Biola. If you're like me, then you're probably trying to decide on a list of different Christian private universities. Azusa Pacific is not a bad choice. But Biola not only provides a combination of biblical and academic education, it also has the best community. Come visit the campus and you'll be surprised. It's smaller than most UC campuses, but it is absolutely vibrant and full of energy.

    Campus Safety

    Campus Safety deserves a five star rating due to their preparedness and repeated tips. They ride around campus constantly and are just as loving as the rest of the faculty and students. They even gave the incoming students (which I am a part of) an opening day info session. It is awesome to know that these people take their jobs seriously and are faithful servants of God.
    Greek Life

    I am not the one you should ask about this. I do not know if Biola offers those things lol.
    Clubs and Activities

    Biola is crawling with these things. There are cheese lovers clubs, diversity clubs, missionary and ministry clubs. The lists goes on and on. I have not experienced them all yet, but I definitely plan to be involved. We have plenty of intramural sports and other things that interest the average student. It is hard to become bored at Biola University.
    Great for these types of students

    Diverse students. I believe that Biola is one of the most diverse institutions in America. There are Asians, Whites, Blacks, Africans, Europeans, Canadians, and much more. No one will feel isolated or alone here because you will be very comfortable with the environment. The atmosphere here is comfortable alone. Students who are looking to grow are definitely encouraged to come here. If you would like to study God's word more in depth while increasing your intellectual strength, Biola is definitely the place for you. For those who love the Lord, Jesus Christ, this would be the ultimate institution for you.

    The Olive Grove is a pretty cool spot. There is a bridge that crosses a small river on campus that leads to a path with pretty cool flowers and trees. It is very peaceful and a great place to study or reflect. Also there is a place called Splash water-park near the campus and it seems really cool. It is an awesome place to escape the dry California sun from. Of course, one of my favorites is the humongous library that we have. The upstairs is so cool and peaceful that there is no place better to study. The book selection is also quite massive if I might add. I can not forget the various places where there encouraging messages. You will see something like You Are The Light of The World sitting on a building. One tradition on campus that is quite hilarious is GYRAD (Get you roommate a date day). It is really there to promote development of healthy friendships and fun. There are plenty of other things that I have not experienced yet but I definitely believe that they will be magnificent.
    Bang for the buck

    The school is definitely worth the price. You will not receive a better education in my opinion. Love and compassion is given openly here and who does not want that. Besides, if God wants you here at Biola, he will definitely pay for your way into school.
    What to do for fun

    There is plenty. People do many different things: Play the piano, their own personal instruments, tennis, basketball, football, baseball, dorm games, ping pong, pool, soccer, track, jogging, studying, reading, praying, and anything else that you consider to be fun.
    Food and Dining

    Now this is where something good could go bad......if you stuff yourself to death. Biola's food program is magnificent. You have a buffet of food to choose from everyday. There is no lack of vegetables, fruit. snacks, desserts, breads, meats, cheeses, pastas, sodas, juices, water, and any other food thought of. The variety will rarely leave anyone saying that they did not find anything that they would not like to eat. Biola spared no expense in feeding their students.
    Dorm Life

    I must say that the dorm life here at BU is far greater than I would have ever imagined. There is no way for anyone to feel bored or alone because there will always be someone to be in your face trying to know your name and invite you to eat with them. There are crazy nights like all hall in which we dress up and eat food while playing games. The people at Biola know how to make you laugh and enjoy yourself. Even if it takes a while to warm up to your hall-mates, the Resident Attendants will definitely make you feel welcome at anytime. The people you are paired with are very nice and fit your personality well. I will definitively have to say that dorm life at Biola deserves an A+.
    Academic Rigor

    Biola is a very challenging and innovative school. The combination of spirituality and education is quite effective. Your mind is forced to become greater than what it is because you are in an environment that cultivates critical thinking and meditation (general courses and Bible). It is an added responsibility that is greatly appreciated by me if no one else. Although the classes may be rigorous, none of the professors are against you. There is no harsh feelings or resentment towards the students because the love of Christ is present in them all; even the Physical Education instructor/ Athletic Director Dave Holmquist. No other college will shower you with love and grace like Biola University.
    Tips for prospective students

    The greatest tip that I can give a prospective student is to pray to God for guidance regarding your possible enrollment into Biola University. He will direct you to the place that you need to be. I personally have experienced this. Before I enrolled and placed my foot on sidewalk near the Hart dorms, I had never visited campus. God knew what was best for me. Also, I urge you to ask God what is his purpose for you and what major field you should go in. That will also help to see if Biola is the school for you. Biola might not have the major that God wants you to study and that may mean that you need to rethink your choices. An awesome thing about Biola is that the administration is very willing to work with you throughout the admissions process and more. If they can do it, it will be done, and if the answer is no, then it is not possible. Finally, Biola is a place where the love of Christ is displayed openly and abundantly. Everyone is so nice and eager to meet new friends. The school is like a big community in which everyone wants to know each other. This place will become your family. That type of environment is very helpful, especially for students who may have second thoughts about leaving home, or being seperated from their families.

    There are many cool clubs here. There is one called Adventure club where you just go and hike at some pretty cool place. For the fall retreat they went to Yosemite for three nights. There are also Intramural sports so if you want to form your own team you can and play with other teams on campus.

    This school would be great for Christians who want to be changed by the word of God. Everyone here has a Bible minor so you have to take Bible classes with some of the most intellectual professors ever.

    We have something called Nationball which is a big dodgeball game of dorm vs dorm it is one of the funnest events of the fall semester. In the spring semester there is mock rock which is like a dance talent show that different teams compete in.

    It is expensive to go here overall it is a private school but it is so worth it.

    You can go to the beach and park with some friends. Also Disneyland is only 15-20 minutes away from campus! There is also Knott's Berry Farm that is 25 minutes away.

    The cafeteria here is by far better than any of the UC and Cal State schools. There are days when nothing seems good but usually there is something that everyone likes.

    The dorm life here is awesome there are awesome people living here. There are even upperclassmen here that is how good the dorms are that they do not want to leave. Also the dorms are mostly co-ed.

    This school has some awesome professors that will push you because they want you to learn the material. It will be frustrating at some points but that is why you talk to your other classmates to see if they can help you.

    Just be yourself you do not need to impress anyone here because everyone here is practically friendly. If there are things you are struggling with I am sure you will find someone here that will listen and pray for you.

    Campus is very safe. There have been a few creepers escorted off campus, but not many incidents. I never have felt unsafe here.
    Clubs and Activities

    I'm not very involved so I can't say much. I know that there are endless opportunities, but they're not easily accessible. Usually grow by word of mouth and having connections with people already involved.

    Academically achieved, not of the party life but still fun-loving, anyone who loves Jesus Christ as their Savior and isn't afraid to show it.

    There are so many. As for locations, we have a beautiful fountain in the center of campus, we have a bell tower that rings a few times a day, we have a grove of olive trees, we have an organic garden, we have a stream...there's a lot. As for traditions, that gets more complicated to explain. Never take a tray in the caf (and never call it the cafeteria). GYRADs - Get Your Roommate A Date. These are floor events that you find a date for your roommate and you all go and have a blast. Brother floors always take out the sister floors' trash once a week. Sister floors bake brother floors' cookies in thanks. Nationball - challenge of the dorms, a campus-wide dodgeball tournament. Punk'n Pie - talent show held every fall. Mock Rock - lip-syncing competition held every spring. Biola Egg - a massive rock that is repeatedly hidden and found on campus by different dorms. Every time you find the egg, you paint it your dorm color, flaunt your success, and then re-hide it. There are many many more, but I've gone on far too long.
    Bang for the buck

    It's worth it, but it is unbelievably expensive. It's expensive enough to wince when saying it's worth it.
    What to do for fun

    There are so many events and fun things to do on campus, it's ridiculous. Sometimes, though, it's nice to get off campus. Personally, I don't have a car so that's really limiting, but there's a dollar theater and a strip mall within a 15 minute walk, which provides enough entertainment.
    Food and Dining

    The food isn't bad. There are a lot of choices. It's all buffet-style with six main stations, all of which have incredible food. Eventually, it starts to get old, and you grow quite an appetite for home cooking, but in comparison with other colleges, it rocks the socks off everyone else.
    Dorm Life

    Dorm unity is emphasized a lot here. The dorms furthest from the center of campus have community worth killing for, while the bigger and more central ones are more like hotels.
    Academic Rigor

    Classes can be tough here, but some are ridiculously easy. It's possible to get through Biola without taking any extremely challenging classes, but you'll pay the price in life later on if you don't take advantage of some of the more difficult professors' classes.
    Tips for prospective students

    Make sure you keep up with all the email reminders that come in, and keep on top of things. Procrastination will kill you.

    Biola is a wonderful place for people who love community, learning, and the Christian faith. I give Biola a 9 out of 10, overall, because I cannot imagine a better school, but I can imagine better conduct policies. Only one mark against it - that's not bad at all.

    CHRISTIANS. Honestly, God is here at this school. I went to Singspiration, and it was clear how many people just really loved God. As you have to basically minor in Bible, you might as well be Christian. The Bible classes are the hardest at this school, and it's usually why a lot of non-Christians transfer out.

    Red Sea. Apparently for rallies you dress up in red, preferably Red Sea shirts...if you're lucky you get a free Disney Land pass in a raffle for wearing it. Singspiration. A regularly occuring concert/worship session that you go to just to get closer to God and sing for an hour or two.
    What to do for fun

    Go off campus...can't say too much about that.
    Food and Dining

    The Coffee place on campus is AMAZING(well the drink i had anyways, easily competes with Starbucks and sooooooo much cheaper). Supposedly the people that cater at Biola work for Dreamworks, but the breakfast I had there was okay...it wasn't too special and the selection of food was a little bit lacking. The luncheons I went to though....ANGELIC!
    Dorm Life

    The dorm halls themselves are...rustic. The dorms themselves are roomy for the most part(could be smaller), but the views aren't too nice and are generally either parking lots or other dorms. The bathrooms in Alpha could be a lot nicer, but the hall in Thompson is actually pretty nice. The dorms look really lived in and kind of old and it could be a turn off for those expecting these nice looking dorms. Really I just think the dorms need a paint job. And if you're not into big city sounds...I heard the sounds of cars driving by and ambulances regularly.

    Can't say too much as I'm not a student, but apparently Physics is hard.

    VISIT THE CAMPUS! Honestly, I was unsure about where this school was placed on my list of potential schools, but after staying here for one night and going to chapel and just living the life of a student here at Biola, it really gave me a feel of how life would be like here. Honestly, college visits are ALWAYS going to be selling points.

    God is clearly relevant and present on this campus, you'd have to try not to find him. I love how the chapels are open pretty much when you need them, and everything is easily within walking distance. The community is really tight nit here, and the people are really nice. Everyone who goes here really loves their school. A senior who didn't even know me even offered to help me carry my bags and offered advice on why I should chose Biola. The boys here definitely know God.

    Tips that I would have for prospective students is to make sure you are willing to commit yourself to graduating with a Biblical Studies minor. You are required to have 30 credits of biblical classes, because many students here aim to be pastors.

    At Biola, we have Campus Safety roaming around 24/7 and our school is gated so our campus is really safe and secure. I�ve never had a moment when I feared walking around campus or being at school.

    Biola actually has a lot of unusual traditions. There first tradition they hold in the beginning of the year is called Nationball and it is a school wide dodge ball tournament between all the resident halls. Everyone is jam-packed in the gym and wearing outrageous outfits representing their hall. Another tradition we have is called Savage women. Now this tradition is super intense! It is a game students play at events and I�ll be honest, it can get pretty savage. The men have to get in a circle and link arms while the ladies, or savage women, try with all their might to separate the boys� arms. Some guys come out of that game with scratches or bite marks! Lastly, our less violent tradition is called a GYRAD, which stands for Get Your Roommate A Date. It�s pretty self-explanatory, your roommate would ask that special someone out for you so you don�t have to do it yourself and you two go on a group date with the people on your floor. It�s so fun and random because you do things like lazer tag and swing dancing followed by some sushi and an evening boat ride! You�d be surprised to hear that some professors or their old friends from Biola even found their wives through GYRAD�s! And that is just three of the many unique traditions Biola has!
    What to do for fun

    There is a ton to do for fun at Biola, especially since we have about five thousand events going on every school year. There are events from concerts (sometimes even free ones) to sports games to film festivals to all halls, which is done with your resident hall, and so much more! On top of the on-campus events, Biola is actually located between Los Angeles County and Orange County so there is plenty to do outside of campus as well like the beach, Disneyland, multiple parks, malls, and a ton more!
    Food and Dining

    Our cafeteria, also known as the caf, is probably one of the better college cafeterias and I�m not exaggerating! It is served buffet style, so it is a little pricier, but you can pick your meal plan and you always get great food everyday. The chefs take the initiative to try new dishes so that you will never get bored of the cafeteria food. Also, there�s a suggestion box, where you can tell them what foods you like them to make, even foods from your culture that you miss your mom making for you, and they�ll actually make it!
    Dorm Life

    Dorm life at Biola is awesome! They do a housing survey before they pick your building and roommates so they can know about your living habits and match you up with people that they believe you would live well with. So far, it has been a great relief that Biola does this because there are less crazy roommate-from-Hell stories than in other colleges. Most of the time, you get matched up with people you�ll get really close with, like how my roommates and I now feel like we�re sisters from another mister! And on top of that, we have the best cleaning services so our living environments are always in tip-top shape!
    Academic Rigor

    Academics wise, Biola is not excruciatingly difficult, which I believe is a good thing so that the student can also have a great college experience, have a social life and make friends, not just be cramped up studying all the time. The most difficult part for me is that most of the homework is reading, which is the same in any other college, and I am a very slow reader so it becomes more time consuming for me, but there it isn�t enough reading to make me feel overwhelmed all the time. Plus, the professors all understand that we have other things going on in our lives other than their class, so they will be really forgiving and show you grace.
    Tips for prospective students

    For me, my biggest fear coming into college was living with two people I have never met before, but it turned out to be so awesome so my main tip would be not to worry too much about your fears of college! If you are an introvert like me, this is your chance to break out of your shell and go up to someone who is alone. Invest your time on people because I can almost guarantee they are just waiting for someone to come up to them.

    The Egg:: A giant egg that is hidden. If you find it, you paint it your dorms color and take a picture. Then you get dorm points. NationBall:: All dorm dodgeball tournament. Midnight Madness:: Awesome way to kick off and support sports teams. GYRADS:: Get your roommate a date. ;)
    What to do for fun

    DisneyLand!!! Knott's Berry Farm, hang out at the fireplace, get coffee at Common Grounds, drive around, go hiking in Malibu, go to LA. Biola is in a perfect location.

    The caf is great!

    Love my dorm and the people I live with! Such a great community and the RAs work hard to make it great. The rooms are really nice and spacious too.
    Academic Rigor

    The classes so far have been challenging, but doable. I have learned so much from my professors and have been able to manage my time to have lots of fun while still doing well in my classes.
    Tips for prospective students

    Have an open mind. Be open to meeting tons of new friends and meeting the nicest people. Work hard, it's not cheap :)

    One of the dorms does a kilt run, everyone dresses up in kilts and runs all throughout the campus. We have the Biola egg its a 50 pound ball of cement and when a dorm finds it they hide it, and you receive points for your dorm if you find it. Also, there is nation ball which is a huge dodge ball tournament, all the dorms dress in individual colors and bombard the gym.
    What to do for fun

    There isn't much to do to for fun on campus, or really around La Mirada, so you have to be a little creative. Most people buy Disneyland passes and just go all the time. Or we make our own fun :)
    Food and Dining

    The caf is not the most amazing food, but it is definitely livable. There is a down side because there are only two other places on campus to eat besides the Caf because the campus is so small. Eagles Nest is pretty good but your have to use your flex points to eat there and its a little expensive and always really busy, so you have to wait like 15 minutes for food. But the Caf does have a lot of options so there is always something to eat, like pizza or salad.
    Dorm Life

    Dorm life is amazing. Hope Hall is the biggest of the dorms, and had the nicest rooms. The experience of rooming with a complete stranger your freshman year is definitely a growing one. Living on campus really helps you expand your community and makes it easier to meet people. Biola selects only the top students for the RA position which is awesome for the students living in the Dorms the RAs make dorm life so much fun. They plan retreats, All Halls ( where everyone in the hall gets together), and floor rituals. If you go to biola live on campus.
    Academic Rigor

    The professors push you, they expect you to come ready to work and ready to learn. The science classes are very demanding, the professors in that department are of the toughest on campus. Bible classes are not an easy A, they are actually the harder of classes. They require a lot of studying, well most classes do. Don't expect to get by like in High School where you don't have to study, you will not succeed if you come with that attitude.
    Tips for prospective students

    Make sure to stay on top of your finical situation, it would be a shame if at the last minute you weren't prepared with money to register. Make sure to buy books on amazon, much cheaper. When registering for classes look up your professors on ratemyprofessor.com, gives you the information on all professors on campus. Get involved on campus, because it is a small school you can feel like you are bored and there isn't much to do, but if you join clubs or groups this can be a way to avoid that.

    Biola has a stellar community, which is what many are looking for when choosing a college. Biola all around gets five goal stars for college experience, students, teachers, and classes. If you are looking for a college experience that you will not only be proud of later, but that will provide friends and family for life, Biola is it.

    This school is definitely great for christian students who are passionate for the Lord and want to continue their walk with him.
    What to do for fun

    There aren't that many things to do for fun, but the is a soccer field and a volleyball pit if anyone wants to play. There are two coffee shops there where you can get a drink and hang out. there are also some activities that go on like clubs that you can join.
    Food and Dining

    The food is pretty good, but after a while you can get tired of it. Recently though they have a new food truck so there's more choices on where you want to eat.
    Dorm Life

    Dorm life is very fun because there are always activities you can attend, you get to meet a variety of people and it's your chance to live on your own. The RA's are very helpful and caring. The bathrooms are usually always clean and the room are a pretty good size.
    Academic Rigor

    Academics at Biola is very serious and pretty strict. Of course taking on a lot of credits can be stressful, but it still can be done.
    Tips for prospective students

    1. Make sure to keep up with attending you chapels because there is a fee to pay if you don't attend thirty chapels. 2. Try not to lose anything because it's a long process to be able to get your things back from security. 3. Study and work hard because your professors are very caring and look forward to seeing you succeed.

    I have spent one semester in Biola University and those couple of months were overall a great experience for me. I learned so much, I was able to get all my classes that I wanted, the professors are very caring, and you get to meet wonderful people. You are required to attend chapels, but they are fun and fulfilling to attend.

    Campus Safety is always lurking around to ensure students safety. Personally, I feel incredibly safe on Biola's campus.
    Clubs and Activities

    There are plenty of clubs to choose from, but I recommend the Adventure Club. For a certain fee, a group gets together to go hiking or rock climbing. It is very fun!
    What to do for fun

    There are tons of activites taking place on campus daily including floor hangouts or All Halls which are little festivals that the entire dorm participates in. Other than that, a movie theatre is within walking distance which is very popular at Biola.
    Food and Dining

    The cafeteria at first was great, but eating there everyday can give you a slight change in appetite. That is why it is nice to have flex points to purchase food at Eagles Nest or drinks from Common Grounds. They are great places to eat when you're tired of the cafeteria.
    Dorm Life

    Dorm life is great. The rooms are very spacious. The RA's are incredibly nice and there are plenty of opportunities to meet new people.
    Academic Rigor

    On the academic side, Biola offers tremendous help to all students. The professors are always available to answer questions and tutoring is offered to students who need it.

    If you are willing to be challenged in all categories of your life, including your religion and academic studies, then Biola is the place for you. As a Christian, you will not find it hard to meet new people and adapt easily.

    I have never felt more safe than when I lived and attended Biola University. It's a wonderful area.

    The price on this school may seem daunting, but it was worth EVERY penny!!
    What to do for fun

    There are many campus activities from slack lining, sports, trips to berry cool for yogurt and others. Many students join intramural sports for fun. There are also school productions, talent competitions, and dance competitions that the entire school often attends.

    The campus food at The Caf is very good. It's a smorgasbord of delicious home-felt food that many people love to enjoy. From pizza and soft serve ice cream, to homemade roast chicken, pastas and soups - you can always find something you will enjoy.

    Campus living is huge at Biola - the majority of students live on campus their entire time in attendance. There is a huge community feel and everyone loves living there.

    What to do for fun

    Disneyland is only about 9 miles away, and at Biola you're only about 20 min from the beach! There are plenty of activities on campus as well, but if you have a car there are endless possibilities to what you could do on the weekends. Southern California is an amazing place!
    Food and Dining

    The Caf' has excellent food consistently. You may grow tired of it after a couple years, but it is always quality food with fresh ingredients. There's also a coffee shop on campus and a couple other dining options for flex dollars.
    Dorm Life

    All of the dorms are fantastic! Whether you're in Horton or Hart you will grow in amazing community with your floor-mates! The on campus apartments are also great!
    Academic Rigor

    Besides having a biblical focused, the academics at Biola are quite rigorous. This University will bring out the best in you!

    My tip is to apply! Even if you think you're unqualified, God has amazing ways of placing you where you are supposed to be. Another tip would be to visit Biola if possible and talk to some students and sit in a class!

    Missions Conference is the hugest event at Biola. It is something that students wait for the entire year and it is a huge blessing. School is shut down for three days, speakers from the entire world come and speak and show how we can do missions within ourselves and with others.
    What to do for fun

    Disneyland is about 20 minutes away- many people get season passes and spent their free time there. Downtown Fullerton has a good nightlife where one can spend some time at.
    Food and Dining

    Food at Biola is so good! So many chefs work so hard to provide meals for everyone the entire day. They are really nice and put out the best that they can do.
    Dorm Life

    Each dorm is different. If you want to be involved and make friends then go to every social opportunity presented by the dorms. It can be really fun if you want it to be fun!

    Every major is super difficult and every professor really pushes their students to do their best. I have been very challenged academically but have grown knowledge of what I want to do.

    Biola is in suburban L.A. But it is next to a huge park, and there is a movie theater nearby with tickets that are only $2. I don't attend so I do not really know what people do every day.

    I have always heard that the food here is good, and it is! They have different types of food on different days in the cafeteria. There are several restaurants on campus, including Eagles, as well. You can use your meal plan at the restaurants.
    Dorm Life

    The dorm rooms are average. But the people are fun and friendly, which is important. They're the ones you're going to live with.
    Academic Rigor

    This isn't one of the most difficult colleges. Classes and extracurricular activities seem manageable from what I've seen from my friends. However, this isn't a party school. They have rules concerning drugs, alcohol, and other issues.
    Tips for prospective students

    It is mandatory that every student takes a minor in Bible, so if you're not serious about Christianity then you might want to reconsider. On the other hand, basketball is big on this campus. They do not have a football team, but their basketball team is good.

    Biola is worth the $32,000 in tuition if you let it. There are some people who choose to make their experience here worth the money, and some who choose to be miserable. It all depends on you.

    Biola is next to one of the most famous cities in the world: Los Angeles. Hiking to the hollywood sign, going to the dollar theatre, going to the Getty, etc. There is so much to do!

    Excellent! For college food, Biola does a really good job of making sure they meet the needs and wants of our diverse student body. They always have a wide variety of food to choose from.

    I think it will depend on where you live on campus and who you live with. For me, I love my roommates and the dorm I live in. Other people have had bad situations. But it's different for everyone.

    In my opinion, Biola has one of the best academic programs in the nation. I know for a fact that Biola's Bible program is the best in the nation. The classes are all challenging in weight and in your own life, but so worth it.

    Campus Safety is so reliable and trustworthy. If there is the slightest issue they are on it like a hawk. They take their job seriously and are take pride in making sure we are all safe.

    BIOLA has over 30 clubs!!! The have clubs ranging from Social Justice clubs to cheese lover clubs! Needless to say, there is a club for you!!!!!

    Biola has an annual nationball tournament every year! Each dorm comes dressed in a different color and we compete against eachother for the dorm champion title!! We also have an event called catch me if you can. Each person that participates in this gets a squirt gun and a random persons name. They must hunt down this person, shoot them with the water gun and then obtain the name they had. The last one standing is the winner!
    Bang for the buck

    Biola is pricy, but they have so many resource to facilitate and create the best learning experience. The fact that the professors are on your side and rooting for you is well worth the price. They want you to succeed and will bend over backwards for that to happen. The campus is clean and well taken care of.
    What to do for fun

    Biola is centrally located. It resides 40 minutes from the beach, 30 minutes from L.A. 10 minutes from a mall and only 1 1/2 hours from the mountains! Not to mention that there are local shopping centers and sporting events next door!
    Food and Dining

    I would gladly eat in the Cafeteria here forever! They have a wide variety: from salad bar, stir fry, sand which bar, pizza, soup, cookies and so much more! The best part is it is buffet and serve yourself style.

    COMMUNITY ROCKS!!! I live on a floor of about 40 girls, of those 40 I would consider 20 of them close friends. We all get along and truly love each other! It really encompasses what a body of believers should be and act towards one another.

    This school will stretch you, it is not an easy degree, however, the professors are committed to walking you through the content step by step. The classes are practical and applicable to your major.

    You can make it happen! Do not be intimidated by the price, apply for scholarships and look into grants. The community is inviting and you will meet friends for life if you simply embrace all that BIOLA has to offer. Be opened to change, God will rock your world!!

All academics are centered around a Christian worldview with the soul purpose of making an impact for the Lord Jesus Christ. Although pricy, this school is truly a life changing, job forming college.
