Great for these types of students

Bradley University is great for any student. Regardless of sex, race, background, and field of study. The Garrett Center is a multicultural building and is a great place for any student to go to with anything. If you're from a foreign country, there is no need to feel alone. Many students at Bradley are from other countries, but the Garrett Center helps to bring everyone together. Go to Bradley University, a place where you can truly, B.U. (be you).

    Tips for prospective students

Go to Bradley. You will not regret it. Make sure that you study hard, yet, still have fun at the same time. You will fall in love with the campus size and the amount of activities that they have to offer. Be sure to join at least one. Get involved. That's a mistake that many students seem to make; they do not get involved and regret it later on. Volunteer your time. Do some community service. You will feel great afterwards!

    Bang for the buck

The great thing about Bradley University is that the tuition is well worth the enrollment. Due to the number of activities and organizations, everything feels well-worth it. A new recreation center, the Markin, was built in the past year, and it is every student's dream. It includes a swimming pool, rock-climbing wall, multiple basketball courts, indoor track, a massive amount of exercise machines, dance studio, and many more rooms. Bradley University classes are small, so there is more one-on-one time with professors. The professors are all willing to help their students. In other words, you will get the best professors for a very decent tuition cost. The food at Bradley is great! It is all-you-can-eat at the cafeterias and a lunch doesn't cost as much as four dollars. Awesome! Breakfast does not run higher than two. Even better! Bradley also offers a vegeterian bar in both cafeterias for those who do not eat meat. The dorm buildings are great and several of the rooms are lofted, which allows for more floor space, which makes the room even spacious. The rooms are very cozy and it feels like home everytime you walk inside your room. When you apply for enrollment, you're automatically applying for scholarships. Bradley offers multiple scholarships such as the Presidential, Provost-Garrett, and University Scholarship. The counselors, resident advisors, and even the President of Bradley University are all available with office hours if students want to contact them. Bradley University is truly a wonderful college choice!!

    Am enjoying being here

Interested in joining any clubs/organizations? Well, Bradley University offers over 200+ organizations, and if you still can't find something that you're interested in, just start your own club. As simple as that! I really enjoy being a student at Bradley. During the first week, there's so many activities to participate in, I wish I had clones so that I could go to every event. One thing that is great about Bradley is that there is something that occurs every week, sometimes every other day. Once you set up a B.U. email, you'll receive information called Hilltop Happenings, which basically lists the days of the week and all of the fun events planned. This is one of the best emails that a student can receive because it is a relief from the week of studying. Want to relax underneath the sun? Olin Quad is the spot for you. Many students like to grab their blankets, laptops, MPG players, and enjoy the warm temperature while hanging out with some friends. You will absolutely be able to find that special social group just for you. Everyone at Bradley is very sociable, nice, and excited about being a student there.

Wow. Bradley University is a wonderful college for those who want to receive a great education in any chosen field of study. Bradley offers the best of the best college professors who all share the same passion and enthusiasm in not only their studies, but also in their students. Amongst the faculty of Bradley University includes Dr. Kevin Stein, who is Illinois' Poet Laureate. I was a student in his class, and I must say that he is a very dedicated, responsive, and passionate professor. In all of my classes, my teachers showed the same care for their pupils and many were available during their office hours if more help was needed. Bradley University is a good choice for the best education!

Great for these types of students

Engineering or nursing students should definitely look into Bradley. The programs here are recognized nationwide and they provide some of the best knowledge in these areas of study.

    Tips for prospective students

From the moment you arrive at campus, go out and get involved. Join a fraternity or a sorority, clubs, groups, anything that you might find interesting or fun. You can learn so many things that you never thought you'd have the chance to. I myself took a fencing class, something I never pictured myself doing, but it was absolutely worth it. Go out and meet people, Bradley isn't a huge campus, so you'll be seeing the same people a lot, might as well make them your friends. As for classes, study, ask for help, and focus on you goals.

    Bang for the buck

Bradley is a top school in the nation. It is known nationwide, I know this personally as I had a friend mention my school to her friend in California, and they had heard of Bradley's prestige. If you put in the work, you are guaranteed to get the education you are seeking. Outside of classes, the school offers so many extracurricular activities at no extra charge. You get your moneys worth.

    Am enjoying being here

Bradley isn't only a school, it's a community. They have tons of activities, clubs, and sports to participate in. From basketball and indoor soccer to skydiving and fencing to music and drama. Bradley just opened the Markin Center, their new gym, and it is amazing. They have plenty of room to workout, do programs, and just have fun. They are always having special programs taking place on campus, special guest speakers, and meeting with other students and employers in the local area. Even the dorms are fun. Once you get to know the people on your floor or in your building, you'll always have people to hang out with. You can never be bored at Bradley as long you get out and explore.

    Am learning a lot

Bradley University is a top school in the engineering and nursing field. As an engineering student myself I am learning all sorts of interesting, helpful, and lifelong information. Bradley is opening the world to me through the eyes of a student, of a person ready to learn. Even if engineering or nursing isn't your major, the other curriculums are still top of the list. The teachers are always ready to help you and guide you to excellence. Your learning skills and experience will soar to new heights.

Great for these types of students

Bradley University is great for students interested in majors of Engineering, Nursing, and Health Sciences. It is great for students looking for a smaller school. It is good for students who would like a change from the fast pace life of a city. It is great for students who would love additional help in school. It is great for students who love to hang out on the quad in the down time of summer and spring and hangout in friends dorms in the down time of winter and fall. It is great for students who may not know exactly what it is they want to do. It's great for almost every student!

    Tips for prospective students

Let's see, a few good tips I can think of would be: 1. Don't be afraid to change your major or enroll undecided. Bradley has a spectacular undecided program and your advisers can help get you where you want and need to be. 2.Wait it out. If initially you don't like it give it some time. Change a few things up in order to find the root of the reason why you don't like it. Don't make drastic choices. 3. Take advantage of your teachers willingness to help. If you are struggling do not feel ashamed or embarrassed. Everyone has that one class they just don't get. Ask your teacher for additional help 10/10 times the teacher will be grateful you came to them.

    Bang for the buck

Since Bradley is a Private University it may seem on the expensive side but the money is well spent. You can definitely see the differences when you visit public institutions. There facilities are not as new, and well kept as that of Bradley. We constantly have renovations that keep our school looking great and also these renovations add to the convenience of the students. You can additionally see our money go toward the qualifications and hiring of our professors who all seem eager to teach and help out students if they are struggling with any aspects of school.

    Am enjoying being here

Initially the change from such a large city environment to such a rural country town was very drastic for me and I missed the city. But after making many friends, some of which felt the same way, I found I was able to adjust to the change in environment rather well. A good thing about the campus is that it's only 3 or so hours from the city so whenever I missed hanging out downtown I just hopped on the Peoria Coach Charter and went home for the weekend. It's the perfect distance away, not too far but not too close either.

    Am learning a lot

I originally enrolled in Bradley University as a Dietetics Major but after a one on one sit down with the head of the Dietetics department during my orientation we decided the major was not for me. He recommended Nutrition and Wellness because it allowed me to learn most of the same information without having the focus of becoming a Dietitian, which is not what I wanted to be. After my first semester at Bradley I realized I made the right decision. I took Family Consumer Sciences along with the Dietetics Majors and I learned all the information they did.

Great for these types of students

Bradley is great for a student that is interested in a school that is not large but not too small where you are able to be yourself. I know it also was great for me because my high school did not do the best job preparing me for college studying, however the professors are very helpful and so are the tutors as well as adviser's. Honestly, I think the school is great for any students because it has the best of large schools (diversity, many things to do, ect.) but also the best of small schools ( no Teacher's Assistants, small class sizes with a small student to professor ratio)

    Tips for prospective students

I came to Bradley only knowing one person that would attend the school. I was extremely nervous, living with someone I did not know, new classes, and all new people. The transition was easy. I met people right away that I clicked with because although it is a smaller school, you will see diversity on campus, in race, religion, sex and interests. Also, if you are having problems with your roommate make sure you talk to your RA. They want you to enjoy your time at college and make you feel comfortable so they will do what they can to help you.

    Bang for the buck

The school is very expensive, however the education you receive is great and they offer free tutoring hours. The clubs and organizations are often free and very enjoyable. Also, keep in mind when looking at the price that this is a private school and when compared to others that are the same size and rank are much more expensive.

    Am enjoying being here

The people here are all welcoming. My RA made sure we found people we clicked with. We also had floor programs which were really fun and allowed you to bond with your new neighbors. The university offers over 200 clubs/organizations so I am always doing something. The recreation center is brand new and makes working out fun since there is so much to do. I also got to see Maroon 5 in concert, front row tickets for $10 which was awesome. I was told every year they have a concert like this! I also got to see the author of post secret speak which is the most interesting speech I have heard, it was very heartfelt. Greek life is something the university always talks about and promotes, however, I decided not to join and I am still really enjoying my time at school. I have plenty of friends both in houses and not in houses and I am glad with the choice I made.

    Am learning a lot

The education I am receiving in the courses at Bradley is beyond what I imagined. Although the classes are difficult, the professors are very helpful. Also, you are offered free tutoring hours which I have found very helpful for learning anything I may find difficult. The classes are definitely preparing me for future courses and my career.

Great for these types of students

If you prefer small class sizes rather than big lecture halls, and a better relationship with your professors, this university is right for you!

    Tips for prospective students

Go to your advisor as much as you can. Don't be afraid, they will help you out with any question you have.

    Am enjoying being here

I love Bradley's small campus because all your classes are within a five minute walk. There is not much to do in Peoria's downtown though, but I still love going to school there.

    Am learning a lot

Bradley has small class sizes so you have a more personal relationship with your professors. They actually learn your name and help you out a lot when you ask.

Great for these types of students

Its one of the top communication schools in the country, and its small enough that you never feel lost, and big enough to not feel like your in high school again.

    Tips for prospective students

Bradley has a million different fairs in the first week, a part time job fair, activities fair, even a food fair. Go to all of those because they really help you know all of your options at school.

    Bang for the buck

Obviously BU is an expensive school, but once you get past just the numbers you realize there are great ways to help pay for all of that while getting an incredible education. Bradley offers great scholarships and a majority of the students recieve one. It ended up being the same cost to go here as it would to go to the public university in my hometown. They offer several different payment plans to fit everyones needs. A little known fact is that the price per year is actually only 80% of what it costs to educate you, Alumni donations and other gifts pay the rest.

    Am enjoying being here

The town itself is way different from a big city such a Chicago, and you have to look to find stuff to do, but there are so many opportunities on campus. There are over a thousand different student organizations and Bradley definitely encourages all of the students to get involved. They have a great Greek life that is way different from any other school. There is a place for everyone here at Bradley and most people you can tell really love the school.

    Am learning a lot

A majority of the teachers are incredible, they remember your name and they really help you feel like your an individual not just another number. The programs are all really great and you get an advisor who really knows what they're talking about and you will have them as a teacher by the time your a junior and a senior. One of the coolest things that I've been able to do is that you can minor in Leadership, something that will look great on a resume and you can learn so much from.

Great for these types of students

Hard-working students do awesomely at Bradley largely due to BU's excellent Honors Program. Also, Bradley's greatest strength is in teaching engineering of all types.

    Tips for prospective students

Bradley is a tiny school. You won't get lost in the crowd, and your teachers will recognize your face. It's an excellent place to learn to excel in and love your major (and future career), and there's plenty of things to do, but it's not in a big city and it's almost three hours from Chicago.

    Bang for the buck

It's a little pricey, but if you're actually here to learn and to have a good college experience, it's well worth the money.

    Am enjoying being here

Bradley is a small campus, and it is the most interesting thing going on in Peoria; so you won't get lost in the crowd and there is no real downtown to escape to on Friday nights. However, there is always something happening on campus, and there are tons of clubs so anyone can get involved.

    Am learning a lot

Bradley has an absolutely wonderful Honors Program with carefully chosen teachers, exclusive classes that focus on discussion rather than excessive homework, and interesting and education field trips. Other than that, even my regular teachers are typically experts in their field of study, with plenty of experience to back up what they teach.

Great for these types of students

-Students who want a small campus. -Those who want to major in nursing or engineering. -Those who want to join a frat or sorority. -Those who religion plays a big role in their life. - Students who have a car. -Students who want to join the Speech team (We have the best!)

    Tips for prospective students

I highly recommend visiting the campus. It's the best way to get a feel for the environment and be able to talk to professors in your major's department. I would even spend a day or two to explore Peoria because its a different area. Bradley has fantastic nursing and engineering programs, so if you are planning to major in either of those, check out Bradley. Greek life is a huge part of campus so if you are planning on joining a fraternity or sorority, consider coming to Bradley. If you currently live in a big city, Bradley will be a drastic change so be prepared. I would suggest bringing a car. If you are Catholic, you probably will feel at home because there is the Newman Center where many students go. There are also retreats and many religious organizations on campus.

    Bang for the buck

If you did well in high school you will most likely get a scholarship to go here. My advice is to take advantage of Markin because it's a new building and it has some great equipment for working out. You are paying for it in your student activity fee, so you might as well go there as much as you can. There are chances of getting a job but the priority goes to students with work-study. If you don't qualify for work-study, it's going to be harder to find a job, especially on campus.

    Am enjoying being here

I've only been at Bradley a semester, but so far I'm not exactly enjoying being here. The department that I'm in is not exactly what I was looking for. Also, I don't party every weekend. For those of you like me, it's going to be hard finding something to do if you don't want to get drunk at the frats and you don't have a car.

    Am learning a lot

Most classes are under 20 students so there is a lot of personal attention. The professors will know your name-you are a person here at Bradley, not a number. In high school, you most likely had to memorize names and charts and all other types of information. In college it's a different method. Memorizing really won't get you anywhere, you actually have to comprehend the information and be able to use logic and reason. Professors at Bradley genuinely care about their students. I have not felt intimidated to approach them. They welcome students to come to their office hours. Sometimes professors will give you points for coming and talking to them if you do not participate in class.

Students who want a small environment for their next 4 yrs of their lives, and who want newer workout facilities and fantastic people!!!

    Tips for prospective students

When you go on your visit here make sure you get a private tour. This will allow you to see things first hand and you will learn about the school a lot more than with a group!! Make sure if your a freshman you check out University Hall... it's pretty sweet!!!

Great for these types of students

I loved high school because I wasn't intimidated to go ask the teacher questions and because I could walk around the campus and know a lot of people, familiar and friendly faces. Both of these elements are found at Bradley, just slightly larger and with more independence.

    Tips for prospective students

Apply early, don't panic over the price, look into Bradley's and your high school scholarships. If attending, orientation is a great place to meet your roommate! When picking a dorm, pick one with air-conditioning, the ones without are nice and they supply you with a window air-conditioner, but the ones with are nicer.

    Bang for the buck

Since Bradley is a private college, it's more expensive than a lot of other schools. However, Bradley is extremely affordable for a private college. My application was free since I applied early, which is a good reflection of Bradley. Your dollars are put to good usage. The meal plan allows you to only spend what you would like, and all the leftover money you get back, unlike a lot of bigger schools. Bradley offers a lot of academic and athletic scholarships that are very accessible. Also, since I am out of state, I was awarded with an additional scholarship. Bradley is definitely worth every penny.

    Am enjoying being here

I love the atmosphere, campus, living, food, and people I've met here at Bradley. I was a little worried coming here because I was the only student from my high school, but it hasn't been a problem at all. The students at Bradley are very welcoming and the staff is phenomenal. There are great events going on all the time and so many different organizations to get involved in, it's hard to choose which ones.

    Am learning a lot

I absolutely love my classes and teachers at Bradley. I am learning a lot and the teachers make time for students to come in for additional help and questioning. Since Bradley is small, there are small class sizes which I find extremely helpful when asking questions. The small size allows for one-on-one time with the professors. The professors are great, they're extremely knowledgeable and I've never walked away without my question being answered.

Great for these types of students

If you like busy life, Bradley isn't for you. If you want a place where you recognize people, have a tight knit community, and easy access to help and teachers, Bradley is perfect! I am a rather shy person and I was able to find a great group of friends rather easily. The great thing about this school is that is small so its personalized AND its on the larger side so it has many clubs to choose from.

    Tips for prospective students

Make sure to tour each campus before you choose. I wasn't planning on going to Bradley when I applied but I went on the tour and I loved it! Also, don't be discouraged by the price. I applied early and qualifyed for a $16,000 schlorship. Good luck!

    Bang for the buck

I think the education is of a good quality. The teachers know what they are talking about, the rooms are rather nice, and there is a home-like atmosphere. Also, Bradley is doing a lot of construction so more opportunies are coming! The only real complaint I have is that Bradley feels isolated. Compared to larger universities, there isn't much to do around the campus. However, I'm hoping the current construction will change that.

    Am enjoying being here

I do enjoy the campus but there isn't much around Bradley to do. To fill up your time, you need to join a sorority/fraturnity or be involved with many clubs/activities. One thing I love about this school is its late night BU program. Once a month, Bradley has late night BU with FREE admission, FREE food, FREE games, and many fun activities to choose from. It is a fun alternative to parties or drinking (if you are the conservitive student). Also, if you don't have a car to reach any grocery stores, clubs, or really anything else there isn't much to do. I also wish there was a football team but Bradley has a great basketball and soccer team!

    Am learning a lot

I really love how Bradley is so personalized! That is the main reason I chose to be here. So far all of my teachers have been really involved in the learning process and it is very easy to get a hold of them for questions or office hours. Each teacher is different but all of them have shown knowledge in their field and effectively use pictures and graphs to explain the concepts. Bradely has a wonderful tutor program where you can get 2 hours of free tutoring a week. Not to mention the teachers are very concerned about how well you understand the material. Just ask them when to come in and they will help you as much as you need it!

    - Engineers - I have a lot of friends who are engineers, and I've heard the program is really good. -Students who prefer a close knit community rather than a sprawling college town. -Hard working students - the Honors Program is a great opportunity, if you have good enough grades to qualify. It offers some really interesting, stimulating classes. -Art students who want to be well rounded- it's a small program, but there are still lots of opportunities and some great faculty. Going to a liberal arts school instead of an art school also means you get a more comprehensive education and take some non - art related courses. -Anyone interested in Printmaking- the Printmaking community is very vibrant, thanks to the excellent Printmaking professor.

    Tips for prospective students

About a third of Bradley students are involved with Greek life, but don't worry if that's not your thing. There are plenty of other ways to get involved. Also, learn how to use the bus! Peoria has a decent bus system which you can take to get almost anywhere you need to go - the mall, the movie theater, downtown Peoria, and even Walmart. Don't be afraid to venture away from campus and explore a bit.

    Bang for the buck

Bradley is a pricey school, but they are quite generous with scholarships if you are a good student. They also have some nice facilities. They recently built the Markins Center, a state of the art workout center with a pool, track, racquetball courts, and lots of workout machines. There are a lot of activities that your tuition pays for as well. Once a month, there is Late Night BU, a completely free night where you can get food, fun pictures, and various giveaways as well enter raffles for great prizes. They pay to bring in performers ranging from musicians to comedians to jugglers and show movies every couple weeks, and only charge a few dollars for entry. Some of the dorms are in poor condition considering how much they cost, but fortunately they are renovating the one in worst shape this summer. If you have good grades, you can also get into the Honors program, which offers a few extra options for classes and some free trips and events.

    Am enjoying being here

I really love the small campus environment. It makes it a lot easier to meet people. The one disadvantage is that if you are not into frat parties and don't have a car, finding entertainment can get a bit challenging. Still, once you find the right group of people to hang out with, it doesn't matter if the campus is a bit isolated, you can still find plenty of things to do.

    Am learning a lot

The small class size means you can really get as much out of a class as you put into it. There are a few exceptions, but I have found that most of my professors are more than happy to spend extra time with individual students. I am studying Graphic Design, and while Bradley has a small art program, there are a few professors in the department who are really wonderful. My one annoyance was that all the art students are required to take mostly basic courses the first year, no matter your skill level. I still did learn and improve, but I felt like I could have been challenged more in some of the classes.

If you're the kind of student who doesn't want to get lost in a sea of students, this is the place for you. We aren't just an ID number here. Here you can really B U. (Bradley University)

    Tips for prospective students

Join clubs that interest you and don't be afraid to try something new! Study abroad if you can. It is an amazing experience, and Bradley has connections with many great schools around the world.

    Bang for the buck

It is a bit on the expensive side, but they are very generous with their scholarships. I am definitely getting a lot in return for my tuition money. Bradley even gives you 2 hours of tutoring free every week.

    Am enjoying being here

I really enjoy the size and atmosphere of Bradley. Everything is centrally located and within a ten to fifteen minute walk. I absolutely love living in the dorms. The RA's and ARA's (Assistant RA) really try to create a feeling of community on the floors through their floor programs and outings.

    Am learning a lot

The professors here are great. Not only do they really know their stuff, but they try to make class interesting and engaging at the same time. I love, love most of the Spanish professors here. My favorite is a Peruvian who isn't afraid to speak her mind. We have talked about so many stimulating, and culturally relevant topics.

    Campus Safety

Bradley University has its very own police force located on campus. At night, you can call the campus cruiser to come pick you up and drop you off anywhere on campus for free. There is also a safty patrol that walks campus all night to ensure you are safe.

    Greek Life

Bradley's campus is a very greek campus. There are over 1300 students in the various fraternities and sororities.

    Clubs and Activities

Bradley has an uncountable number of clubs on campus. If you do not find the club you want, then it is easy to create it. All it takes is a few more people to sign a petition and your club becomes part of Bradley!

Great for these types of students

Bradley is great for any student who wants a quality education but also wants to enjoy their college years.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

It is a tradition at Bradley basketball games to have every student and fan in the stadium turn their backs to the court and drown out the announcer when the other team is being announced.

    Bang for the buck

Bradley offers numerous benefits that other colleges don't. On top of Late Night BU, Bradley offers benefits for the school part of the Bradley experience. Each student can ave up to 2 hours of free tudoring per week if they need it as well as professors who are willing to help at almost any time. The professors offer office hours every week as well as schedule appointments, which is more than a large majority of other colleges.

    What to do for fun

The campus is always lively. In the Olin quad on most days you will find hundreds of students hanging out or palying games. Once or twice per month there is the Late Night BU. This is a large event that takes place in the rec-center and students come to play games, win prizes, listen to music, and eat some FREE FOOD. The events are something that has to be experienced.

    Food and Dining

Bradley just recently (within the past 2 years) updated four of its dining halls and food courts. The food in each are is great (most of the time) and there is a large array of choices. The most recent addition to campus is a Chick-fil-a in the student center.

    Dorm Life

The dorm life is nothing short of exciting. There is always something going on on your floor. People to socialize with, games to play, and floor activities to participate in.

    Academic Rigor

Although Bradley is very strict on their cheating policy, the professors still do a good amount of bending. For example, some professors will completely change the grading scale if the class average is lower than the usual ABC scale.

    Tips for prospective students

ALWAYS seek help when you need it. This can be done by asking the professor directly, asking your peers, or getting some tudoring. Every professor has office hours where you can just walk into their office and ask questons. Also, you can schedule a meeting time with your professor if needed. Every week you can get 2 free hours of tudoring in any subject. Use that to your advantage. The tudors are other students who previously took the class and excelled.

    In three sentences

Bradley is a fantastic college for those looking for a warm, inviting classroom atmosphere. The professors are always willing to sit with their students, one-on-one, to halp them reach their fullest potential. At Bradley, the opportunities for success are endless.

Great for these types of students

If you're looking for a smaller school that has an inviting sense to it, Bradley's the place to go. It is very inviting and the students form a sort of community that is great.

    Tips for prospective students

Find out what Bradley has to offer you! There are so many great opportunities you might not even know are out there that Bradley can offer you.

    Bang for the buck

Bradley was great at giving me scholarship chances and an affordable way to pay for school.

    Will enjoy being here

I LOVE Bradley's campus. I feel at home when I'm there because it's small (but not too small) and it has a warm and comfortable feel about it.

    Will learn a lot

I am going into the physical therapy department. I'm so excited about all of the opportunities that the department- even outside of classes- has to offer.

When choosing whether to be at home or at Bradley, Bradley wins. There are always people to hang with. The quad is awesome people are always planning events or just playing games.

I never used to study, but Bradley created an atmosphere that encourages you to do what you came here for. They provide plenty of opportunities to take you learn and apply it to the outside world. The work load depends on the teacher, but is manageable.

In my own opinion, if you are to attend Bradley, you must be ready to put in the extra hours if you are going to graduate in 4 years (provided you are majoring in Mechanical Engineering).

Bradley is a very good school. It the perfect size for someone who wants to have that high school feel in college. You have small class sizes which in return gives your teachers an opporunity to get to know you and help more.

    Bang for the buck

Bradley is one of the cheaper private universities in Illinois. It is not very cheap though. For some families, it can still be a struggle to pay the full amount including tuition and room and board. However, Bradley does offer many merit scholarships and financial aid to both incoming freshmen and transfer students. For the amount the students pay to attend and live at Bradley, they receive many great benefits. Many of the residents halls have been recently renovated and include new bathrooms and larger dorm rooms. Almost all residents halls are include air conditioning and heating except for one that only includes heating. The windows in the rooms do open so there is always a way to cool off the rooms. New furniture is in many of the rooms and new laundry facilities are in some of the buildings. A lot of the building on campus have been renovated including the Markin, which is the recreational center. It includes a rock climbing wall, salt water pool, many dance rooms, locker rooms, full indoor track, four basketball courts in the main gym and one larger basketball court in the performance gym. Many of the work out machines are new and fully functional. There are many dance rooms and an inclosed court for soccer. Although the price to attend Bradley can be steep, there are many different ways of paying that price including financial aid and scholarships. Also for this price you will get new dorm facilities and newer buildings on campus included with state of the art equipment.

    Am enjoying being here

I enjoy being at Bradley because not only am I learning a lot, I am also having fun! College is supposed to be about learning about what you want to do with your future and learning about yourself. I've learned how to live on my own and be independent. Bradley has helped me to learn how to time manage my day so I don't waste any time. I do study and do homework a lot but I also make sure I have time for myself. I hang out with my friends, go to the gym, go out to parties, and still find time to sleep! I enjoy being here because I feel like I'm learning and having fun. The campus has a lot to offer, not only academically but socially, I am involved in many organizations including a sorority, and still get my homework done. The campus offers Greek life, intramural and club sports, many social clubs, academic clubs, and charity organizations. I am currently starting to get involved with a new organization called Paws for independence. This organization trains rescued dogs into dogs for the disabled. Organizations ranging from Paws for independence to Organizations for specific majors are available at Bradley. I can almost guarantee, if you want to get involved with something your passionate about on campus there's a club for you! Another great thing about Bradley is that if a certain club or organization is not on campus that you want to be a part of, you can start it yourself! Even though the campus is small there is always something to do on campus, whether it's hanging out with friends in someones dorm room, going to a Division 1 sports game, or getting involved in a club or organization, there is always something to do on campus.

    Am learning a lot

At Bradley, many of the teachers and staff sincerely want you to succeed. You are not just another number at Bradley but a person. Many of the professors and student advisors are truly here to help you. They all have flexible office hours and will give you one on one time to fix a problem you are having regardless of what it is. There is also free tutoring available for each subject at any level. These tutors go through a rigorous application process in order to work as a tutor, ensuring their ability to help other students academically. Many of the classes are organized and usually have a small number of students. The small class sizes have helped me personally because it is easier to get to know people in your classes so you can form friendships and study groups. The small class size also helps with learning in the class room. The professors have less students to focus on so they therefore can help each student and meet the students needs academically. Another great thing about the education at Bradley, is that all the classes are taught by professors. There are no teaching assistants like at bigger schools and this helps the student learn more and trust in what the professor is teaching. This also helps build a personal relationship with professors. Building a personal relationship with your professors is important because many of them will be writing your letters of recommendation either for a job or another program you want to be involved in. In all, Bradley's small class sizes, organized curriculum, and professors make the education here worthwhile. I don't feel like another number here, I feel like a person trying to succeed here. The educators and staff are interested in my success and I feel like I am learning to the best of my abilities and the staff here is helping me to go beyond that. They are preparing me for my future.

    Campus Safety

there are many muggings and robberies that go on around campus but i will say that campus safety is trying and you will also see campus police cars around campus. there are definitely things that can be improved on in the campus safety area, but they are working on things and definitely have bradley student's best interest in mind.

    Greek Life

greek life is pretty big at bradley. unfortunately greek life comes with many stereotypes and many sororities and fraternities are associated together when they shouldn't be. usually it is said that if you aren't in a sorority or fraternity at bradley, you don't hang out with anyone, which is very untrue. i have many friends that aren't a part of greek life. also, we are friends with many people in other sororities and fraternities. being a part of greek life does enhance the family-like atmosphere.

    Clubs and Activities

bradley offers many clubs and activities to be a part of and i believe every student can find one they are very interested in. also, from experience, every club or activity i have made myself a part of, everyone is so open and willing to let you in on their experience and wants to welcome everyone with open arms.

    Bang for the buck

even though bradley is expensive, like any other college, is does give you a great academic background. if you apply yourself and get involved, the money is worth it.

    What to do for fun

because of campus being in peoria, there isn't necessarily much to do, especially off campus. there are usually multiple things going on within the week on campus and we are notified of them through hilltop happenings. it might be a benefit for being part of a small campus because you are forced to create relationships with people rather than going out and doing things that you would at a bigger college.

    Food and Dining

wherever you go, cafeteria food isn't the greatest, but even being a vegetarian i can say i definitely survived with the food and there was always something i could find to eat. a personal favorite is center court and luckily they just changed their hours to be open on the weekends which i know a lot of students will be happy with. for a small campus, there are many food options.

    Dorm Life

i only lived in geisert my freshman year and i strongly disliked it. even though we did have a cafeteria in our basement, i didn't like how the rooms were set up and didn't have friendships with the people on my floor like i heard were made with people that lived in u-hall. i have heard that sophomore year and living in williams is a lot better though.

    Academic Rigor

the classes definitely require more studying and preparation than high school and push students. even though classes seem difficult, the professors are usually willing to help the students if they need guidance. because of the high percentage rate of students that get jobs after college prove that the hard work will pay off.

    Tips for prospective students

don't procrastinate and ask for help. everyone is willing to help in order to see you succeed. become as involved as you can. it looks good on a resume and will help you expand your college experience as much as possible.

    In three sentences

bradley university is a small campus that offers a family-like atmosphere. the students are more than likely to have a job that turns into a career when they graduate. the professors are always willing to help a student achieve their goals and usually go above and beyond to know their students on a personal level.

    Campus Safety

Bradley is not in the best neighborhood, and while campus police are frequently patrolling, they cannot be everywhere. Bradley's president is really good about informing students of safety issues on campus. As long as students are smart about their safety, they're fine.

    Greek Life

I have not been involved in Greek life, but 30% of Bradley students are in a fraternity or sorority. Greeks sponsor a lot of cool events on campus like cookouts, pancake breakfasts, fashion shows, and bake sales.

    Clubs and Activities

There are at least 50 student organizations for students to get involved in, and you can find out about these groups during welcome week. There are philanthropies, religious groups, sports teams, adventure groups, and Greek oraganizations

Great for these types of students

Students who know how to balance fun and academics. The rigor of classes requires time and effort, but you need to be able to have fun in your down time.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

Welcome week is the best tradition we have at Bradley. The whole week is dedicated to welcoming students back to campus, so there are activities all the time. My favorite event is Taste of Bradley, where local vendors sell food at a discounted price.

    Bang for the buck

Bradley is undergoing a campus renewal project right now, so a lot of money is going toward updating buildings and creating new sports facilities. I wish more money would be put toward student activities and the career center.

    What to do for fun

There are three movie theaters in Peoria, none of which are close enough to walk to. There is a park very close to campus, which is where our softball team plays. There are also many bars near campus, and there are even more downtown.

    Food and Dining

There are two cafeterias on campus that have a wide variety of options. There is a convenience store and two starbucks on campus. Across the street from campus is a stripmall with other dining options (bellacino's, subway, jimmy johns, sushi, fieldhouse, great wall, avanti's)

    Dorm Life

The quality of the dorms really depends on which one you choose (williams and u-hall are best). The cafeterias have lots of options, including vegetarian menus. Get involved with floor activities and hall council.

    Academic Rigor

Freshman and sophomore year are pretty easy. Junior year is a little harder than high school. Senior year is tough.

    Tips for prospective students

Do not be afraid to talk to your professors during their office hours; most of them love seeing students. Get involved with groups on campus that interest you.

    In three sentences

Bradley has a lot of fun campus activities for students to get involved in. The professors are usually very focused on providing good feedback to students. The career center is helpful if you start looking for grad schools or jobs early on.

    Campus Safety

The Bradley Police make you feel extremely safe here by constantly patrolling the campus at all hours of the day, their headquarters is right by the campus and there are emergency stations all around the campus which you can push if you feel unsafe for any reason and they're guaranteed to be there in 1 minute or less. Also, they're very generous when it comes to helping out anyone who is having any kind of a problem whether it be drinking or not, they just ask for your cooperation because they're not just patrolling with the intent to catch students in the wrong, they're patrolling to keep us safe from unwanted visitors.

    Greek Life

33% of the school is involved in Greek Life, so Greek Life is very big and noticeable at this school. You always see someone walking around in their Fraternity's or Sorority's letters when you're heading to class.

    Clubs and Activities

Markin Fitness Center is a huge attraction on campus, many people spend a lot of time there. Whether they're playing racquetball, basketball, indoor soccer, volleyball, running around the track, lifting or evening swimming in the olympic sized swimming pool, there's always something to do there. Many intramural's take place there and intramural's are a big part of Bradley student's lives.

Great for these types of students

Students who don't want TA's (teacher's assistants) because Bradley has none of these and those who want no giant lecture hall classes. The biggest class I've had has had about 50 people in it, the rest have around 15-30 kids.

    Bang for the buck

Bradley is quite an expensive school at about $36,000. This is because it's a private school. But with a school costing that much money you would think they would have more things for students to do.

    What to do for fun

There's not exactly too much to do in downtown Peoria, most Bradley students tend to stay really close to campus or about 10-15 minutes either way for fun. The weekends definitely make up for the hard weeks!

    Food and Dining

The one thing that is kinda lacking at Bradley is the food selection, just this year they closed a spot for lunch on the lobby floor of Uhall, there are only two other two other cafeterias in dorms to eat at. A lot of people just go to Center Court which is closest to Uhall and Williams dorms because there's a wider selection and the food is cooked right in front of you, but still quick.

    Dorm Life

This has by far got to be my most favorite part of Bradley. Coming to college I was incredibly nervous how the social situation would play itself out, for me, it has done wonders. My floor is incredibly close and I have numerous friends on other floors around the building. Uhall has been said to be the best dorm to live in Freshman year and it has proven to be so, also Uhall is the only All Freshman dorm on campus, so that made it a lot easier knowing that everyone is going through the same adjustment as I am.

    Academic Rigor

Classes can be pretty tough at Bradley, especially the math and science classes, make sure you devote a good amount of time to studying. The degree that you'll receive from here in the end will be well worth it when it comes to opening doors further down the road.

    Tips for prospective students

To make sure to study much more than you did in High School!

    In three sentences

It's a great school in the way that you get to know everyone very quickly. The teachers are incredibly helpful especially due to the smaller class size. Also, if you're into intramural sports or Greek life, Bradley is very big on those two things as well.

    Food and Dining

Although the cafeteria food isn't the best keep in mind that that is exactly what it is, cafeteria food. However it is not horrible and the other food on and around campus is pretty good.

    Dorm Life

The dorms are very nice and homey. One of the dorms is newly renovated from the basement to the top floor!

    Academic Rigor

Some of the work is hard but it can all be done if approached the right way.

    Tips for prospective students

Make sure you use your resources such as the free tutoring and make sure that you take advantage of the help the teachers offer.

Although the tuition is quite steep, you definitely get the most for your money at Bradley, especially with the engineering program.

    What to do for fun

Peoria is super fun! There are so many things to do in the area and the university makes it a priority to have events that are specifically for us students.

    Food and Dining

At every campus, you get tired of cafeteria food, but it isn't that bad. I personally like it, but I do get sick of it. BU has a bunch of little restaurants in the surrounding blocks of campus that are a nice, refreshing eating option as well.

    Dorm Life

The university is constantly making changes to better the dorm rooms and residence halls.

    Academic Rigor

I'm a Mechanical Engineering major with a concentration in Bio-medical. Engineering at Bradley is the hardest major the campus has to offer.

    Campus Safety

Many people may say the the campus is not safe, etc. and that the Peoria area is a bit sketchy, but thus far I have not known anyone, personally, nor have I have any problems with my safety on campus. The Peoria Police department is just two minutes away and are patrolling 24/7. On campus there are also emergency call buttons that alert authorities if you re in danger or just want to be escorted to your destination. Also, one of the Fraternities on campus - Delta Tau Delta - has an escort service everyday of the week. All you have to do is call in, and immediately someone will come to walk you to where ever it is that you wanted to go! Overall, the safety of every single student is taken very seriously at Bradley University.

    Greek Life

Greek life is unlike what you see on the TV screens. Everyone is open and friendly - always welcoming new faces and coming out to get along with the rest of the campus; everyone is so close and connected. The Greek Life pays close attention to their philanthropies and get the rest of the Bradley community involved in every way possible.

All of the students gather in front of Bradley Hall (on Founder's Circle), eat free food, and listen to great music, and wait for a giant B to be lit! It's an unusual tradition because not many other schools do this. In a way it's paying respect to Bradley University and Lydia Moss Bradley (Founder of Bradley University). Another unusual tradition is Midnight Munchies: Each semester at exactly 12 AM, sorority girls from Kappa Delta give out free food from restaurants nearby (i.e. Taco Bell, Jimmy Johns, Subway, and more!) to students at the start of finals week!

    Bang for the buck

The tuition for Bradley University may seem a bit high, although many students are offered a lot of financial aid, grants, and scholarship opportunities - I know this from personal experience. You get good dorm rooms, good quality food, a great education, and memorable experiences - all on a perfectly-sized campus. It's the total package!

    What to do for fun

What to do for fun?! More like what isn't there to do? Activities range from joining clubs and organizations, attending a movie night ($1 w/ I.D.), playing catch on the quad or just sun-bathing, to late-night BU and the annual Spring concert! Late Night BU is hosted once a month with tons of free food and activities for students from 10 PM to 2 AM! And every Spring, Bradley invests in bringing a famous performer to campus for a cheap cost.

    Food and Dining

Food is never difficult to find on campus, there is always something open where you can get food! And, even better, they are in close-walking distance! You may even get the chance of being placed in one of the two residence halls that have these cafeterias. Many may complain about the food offered on campus, but I enjoy it! I live by this motto: If it's good and fills me up, then it's great food! If you're a picky eater - you'll hate it. If you're open to trying new things - you'll love it! It's as simple as that. And for the incoming year, Bradley University will be signing a new contract with a new international dinning service - so the food, I'm expecting, will be even better!

    Dorm Life

I love the dorm life! The dorms are in walking distance to all of the academic buildings (at least two minutes away). The dorm rooms are decent in size and they offer all you need - with washers and dryers, bathrooms, and a lounge for socializing - you won't miss home! I had the privilege of living in a newly renovated residence hall, so my dorm life experience was phenomenal!

    Academic Rigor

The courses seem to be quite good, as long as you're on top of your game! Though, the mathematics department is a bit challenging. If you are going to be taking math courses, make sure you're placed in the right class and be ready to learn a lot of material in a short amount of time!

    Tips for prospective students

Do NOT procrastinate - it seems to be a serious issue for incoming freshman. But, as long as you go to class and complete your assignments on time you'll be fine! Also, many people may say that they didn't really meet new people. Well, in order to avoid that you have to put yourself out there! Join new clubs and organization, contribute to class discussions (hint: you also get participation points!) and attend on campus events! They are definitely worth-a-while and free!

    In three sentences

Bradley University has a great campus size; everything is in great walking distance. The school is small enough to know many people, yet big enough to meet new people everyday. And Bradley University pays close attention to it's students' through offering flexible schedules, many on-campus organization, and a friendly, learning environment.

    Food and Dining

The food options are great. There is a little convenience store kind of place in one of the dorms that you can buy things like sandwiches for on the go. If you plan to sit down to eat there are buffet like options available. Also if you want foods like Jimmy John's, campus town is right down the street.

    Dorm Life

    Campus Safety

Each dorm requires and ID and key to gain access into the building. The Library and Gym also require a student ID for access. In Peoria, a robbery or other small crime is no surprise, but campus is relatively safe. Anytime something happens, students are notified via email. Campus police patrol campus at all times, and if students ever feel unsafe, they are encouraged to call the Bradley Escort system to go with them on their travels through campus.

    Greek Life

Bradley University does have a large Greek Life active on campus. Going Greek provides students with several extra opportunities to get involved both on campus and in the Peoria community. Greeks are expected to maintain a certain GPA, participate in community service and attend meetings for their house. Greeks also have many opportunities to play in organized sports against other Greek houses and have special friendly competitions and activities throughout the academic year.

    Clubs and Activities

Everyone has different interests and Bradley understands that. Whether students are looking for community service or volunteering work, academic clubs, or just some fun, Bradley offers dozens of clubs, so that there is something for everybody! Students are also welcomed to start up their own club, if it does not exist yet. These clubs offer students the opportunity to get involved on campus and hold leadership positions, which provide students with great experience for their future. Also there are club teams and intramural sports for students to get involved with, with their friends. For those whole just like to watch, free shuttles take students to basketball, soccer and baseball games to see their fellow Braves take on other Universities.

Great for these types of students

Bradley University is great for students that require extra personal attention to succeed to their fullest potential. Falling asleep in the classroom is not an option here, because class sizes are small therefore requiring everybody's full attention and participation. In addition, professors always make themselves available to help students and assure student's success.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

Bacci's and Avanti's are two food places that are well known to students at Bradley. For college kids on a budget, cheap is a key variable in making a decision of where to eat out. Avanti's restaurant has a nice menu with even nicer price tags. Students also fill the small pizzeria known as Bacci's on weekend nights. For five dollars, Bacci's serves pizza slices so large, that they have to use a tray instead of a plate to serve it. At two in the morning on a weekend night, Bacci's is just as packed with college students as any Frat party on campus.

    Bang for the buck

Students will find more than just the average college experience at Bradley University. With a student/faculty ratio of 12:1, each student receives personal attention in the classroom and is able to establish a unique relationship with their professors. In addition to the opportunity for students to get to know their professors well, students at Bradley also have numerous opportunities to meet with the President of the University; a very rare opportunity at most other Universities. Also unique to Bradley; all classes at Bradley University are taught by Professors with a degree in their area of expertise instead of a teaching assistant or graduate student. Each student is also offered two hours a week of free tutoring in any subject. Upon accepting admittance to Bradley University, students are setting themselves up for success. Excellent resources such as the Smith Career Center, assists students in achieving helpful internships and timely job placements upon graduation.

    What to do for fun

Bradley offers several clubs and activities to satisfy a wide range of interests. Many students choose to organize teams to play intramural sports at the health center, Markin, where students can also swim, rock climb, or exercise. Bradley arranges events once a month called Late Night BU. Each Late Night BU is themed, where students can get free food and participate in a variety of activities in accordance to the theme. Bradley University also brings musical performers to campus for a unique concert at college experience. Incoming students will have an opportunity to learn about all Bradley has to offer at an activity fair held at the beginning of each school year.

    Food and Dining

Bradley University offers a variety of food options. There are two cafeterias where students can swipe their ID for admittance and select food from the buffet as many times as they would like in that sitting. Food options usually fall under the label of standard cafeteria food, meaning what can be produced in large quantities easily, average taste, and often unhealthy. However, there is always a salad bar for those trying to eat light. There is also one cafeteria in the Student Center, which students pay for each entree separately. Another favorite place for students to stop for a bite to eat is Center Court, where students can purchase pizza, sandwiches, bosco sticks, and many other convenience store food items such as chips and candy. In addition, students can use their ID's to purchase snack in the library and student center. On the days students wish to switch things up and eat something other than cafeteria food, students are allotted money each semester categorized as quick cash to use at restaurants within walking distance of campus, such as Jimmy Johns and One World Cafe. It is rare that students run out of money on their student meal plans or quick cash, but in the event of that happening, students can always add more money at any point in the semester! But one thing is for sure; going off to college and living in a dorm sure makes you appreciate mom's home cooked meals.

    Dorm Life

Dorms on Bradley's campus are nothing spectacular. Most dorms are relatively small. Traditional housing arrangements are set up for two students to live per dorm room with a communal bathroom for the whole floor. Floors are not co-ed. While dorm life at Bradley does take some adjustment from a nice cozy family home, they are tolerable and complete the true college experience!

    Academic Rigor

Bradley University challenges students to reach their greatest potential. Academically, Bradley can be challenging, but do not fret, there are always professors and student aids available to help get students through their toughest obstacles.

    Tips for prospective students

Get involved! Bradley University offers endless amounts of clubs and activities to get involved with, and if you can not find what you are looking for, Bradley welcomes you to start a new club! Getting involved helps you to make friends and contacts quickly and is a fun way to slim down on stress!

    In three sentences

Bradley University offers a traditional college experience with unique attributes. Consisting of less than 6,000 undergraduate students, you will experience the incredibly warm community feel Bradley has to offer. Professors, Faculty, and Students alike, all take the time to get to know you by name.

The school is extremely safe. While it is true (that like other major cities) Peoria can be not so nice sometimes, Bradley is always safe. The police department patrols both in car and on foot 24 hours a day, and is always just a shout away. The campus is filled with the perfect amount of police call boxes, making you feel safe even when you are walking alone at night. The police department also offers services like escorts for students who do not feel safe walking alone at night.

    Greek Life

Greek life is a big part of campus, but they do not rule the school, like at some other major universities.

    Clubs and Activities

Their are TONS to choose from, so you are almost guaranteed to find something that you are passionate about. If you don't find a club for you, grab two friends and a staff member- and you can start your own club.

Great for these types of students

It's a great school for students who want to feel like they are a part of a large university, with endless things to do, but still be on a first name basis with their teachers. Small class sizes, a beautiful campus, and the proximity to downtown Peoria allows for students to always be happy and entertained.

One bonus, all of Bradley's quads have WiFi, so it makes it easy and fun to sit outside and do homework, or hangout with friends.

    Bang for the buck

Expensive? Yes! But so worth it. Bradley not only provides a great education and living environment, but also many student support options- such as free weekly tutoring. The buildings are all recently renovated, providing students with state-of-the-art services, all free.

    What to do for fun

Bradley always provides local entertainment for their students. Concerts, events, and shows take place very often on campus, giving students a central 'hub' for fun. In addition to the planned events, their are always student organized events on campus, in addition to the many social events held by the greek life on campus. Peoria also has many things to do, at all hours of the day and night. Peoria is very active city with many events to take part of, and places to visit. Since Bradley is right near downtown Peoria, students can get to everything they need, in little to no time.

    Food and Dining

There are lots of options both on and off campus of places to eat. You will have no problem walking to a food court, or local restaurant to grab a bite to eat- no matter what time.

    Dorm Life

The buildings are not as new as you will find at some schools, but the residential living is like no other. Everyone at the dorms has their door open almost all the time, and enjoys when people just walk in their room, and makes a new friend. The RAs in the dorm will create games and activities for students on their floor. They are a fun and non-formal way to meet other students!

    Academic Rigor

Bradley prides it's self on their academics. The teachers are all professionals in their field, but they know where you are coming from. Professors will challenge you to become the best student that you possibly can, but unlike at major state universities, they will know you by name and assist you when you ask, with everything they can.

    Tips for prospective students

If you have ANY questions, do not think twice about asking for help. Everyone at the university is very friendly and happy to assist with everything. I emailed my admissions counselor back and forth for months during the admissions season. Also, visit campus! You will see how the school can give you the major university feel, with small and personal class sizes.

    In three sentences

Bradley is a beautiful campus that is large enough to enjoy, but small enough to feel comfortable. Students and staff are all extremely welcoming and they are happy to assist when you need. Overall, Bradley provides the opportunities of a large state university, with the feel of a small community.

    Dorm Life

The RA's and ARA's are always available for students so safety is never a n issue and these same Ra's and ARA's are great leaders and role models for students who set up activities and help students get involved on campus

    Academic Rigor

Bradley is a private institution with an incredible academic track record and very high job placement for every major even in times of economic disparity. The material may be challenging but students are learning from professors, never teacher's assistants, who engage in additional research on their teaching subject evey year so everything is up-to-date and they also make themselves availbe three times a week for students individually thus giving students every chance for success.

    Tips for prospective students

My main tips for prospective students are make a visit because you don't know what Bradley is really like until you're here, research us online and our credentials, and lastly, Bradley is a midsize college giving it the best of both worlds from small and large universities.

    Campus Safety

Campus safety has gotten so much better over the years. Not to say that it was terrible before, but there were barely any issues with illegal actions on campus before and now, there are even less. Most people feel comfortable walking out and about by themselves at night, but don't fret because if you aren't one of those people the Bradley police and some fraternities has escort services that will come get you from all over campus. Great police department and they're always finding ways to make it even better.

    Greek Life

Greek life is about 1/3 of the campus and very involved on campus and off. They are a great bunch of people and have very close bonds, so if Greek life has ever crossed your mind, you should check it out during rush season!

    Clubs and Activities

There are so many clubs and activities that it's impossible to not be involved or not know anyone on campus. Most of them are free and the ones that cost are usually between $5 - $20 per year/semester depending on the club/activity. There's a little something for all students and as I said before, if you don't see anything you like, create your own!

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

The Taste of Bradley is similar to the Taste of Chicago. For those who have never been to either, there are stations set up around the Bradley circle with local restaurants and several sample dishes that you can try for a small fee that you pay for with tickets. It's a great way to try the food and meet new people. It's a win-win! This happens during Welcome week which happens all over campus and has many different activities such as the Activities Fair (features over 200 clubs and activities on campus), the BBQ at Meinen Field and the block party on Fredonia (both across the street from campus, hosted by the fraternities and sororities), and many more! You must check it out.

    Bang for the buck

There are several Walmarts, a Target, a Shop and Save, Big Lots, several Krogers, Schnucks, a few Aldis and 2 great malls (Northwoods and Grand Prairie) that are not very far at all from campus, so if you have a car or friends with cars, then you're good to go. There are actually sales papers put in the dorms and around campus, so you can utilize some coupons. You can sign up for sales information from those stores and you'll be set. There's almost always a sale somewhere, but you have to look for it. Overall, the stores are great for broke college students like myself! :]

    What to do for fun

As I said earlier, Bradley has tons of free events throughout each semester. Many of which are hosted by the 200+ student (and sometimes faculty) ran organizations. I don't recall a day or night where there wasn't some kind of event. We have a monthly event called Late Night BU (10pm - 2 am) which hosts a ton of fun activities, free prizes, and FREE FOOD! So you don't even have to spend money on food that night. We also host 2 major concerts (one every semester; there are smaller concerts throughout each semester as well) with big names that are always a surprise right before tickets go on sale. There are also places in Peoria like Kartville for those who like to go kart race, there's plenty of volunteering opportunities for those who like to give back, and a few bars and clubs for those who like to party (after all, we are in college)! Take advantage of everything that you can because it's all for you!

    Food and Dining

There is so much food on this campus, so you better beware of the freshman (or any grade level) 15! Luckily we have an amazing recreational center where you can work out 7 days a week. The food isn't always wonderful in the cafeteria, but we have a restaurants on campus and very close off campus, so you do have variety. The meal plan that we have is amazing and not your average meal plan. You actually have money instead of meals (about $800) that you decide how to spend throughout the semester. It inadvertently teaches budgeting while you eat. It's good stuff!

    Dorm Life

The dorms are pretty great. Some are better than others, of course, but there are renovations going on this summer to make many of them better. Having to live in the dorms may seem like a drag, but it is an amazing way to make new friends! There are floor activities, some which are mandatory, so we basically force people to meet their neighbors. Don't worry, though. If you have very important things to do you can talk to your RA or ARA and take a rain check until the next one. I met a lot of my best friends during my time in the dorms and you can too!

    Academic Rigor

Bradley has amazing academics and very competitive programs like nursing and engineering, so don't take your admittance into the program with a grain of salt. Work hard and you will be extremely pleased that you chose Bradley University!

    Tips for prospective students

Go to orientation and have fun! You'll see most of the people you met in orientation again. It's guaranteed. It may be difficult for some people to adjust because they may have never been away from home, but there are SO MANY activities, clubs, sports that the only way that a person isn't involved on campus is if they don't try. If you don't see anything you like, you can create your own clubs! There's so much Bradley has to offer, so taken advantage of it while keeping up with your studies, of course!

    In three sentences

Bradley is a small school perfect for those who don't want to feel like a number on campus, but rather, get to know many students, faculty, and staff pretty easily. It is in Peoria, IL which isn't the most exciting city on Earth, but it encourages students to create their own fun by making new friends, going to on campus events (which we have an abundance of; a lot are free), and getting to know the fine details of the city. It is far from perfect, but the academics are great and I have learned so much in my time spent here at Bradley and I wish all future students to the University well.

    Greek Life

Nearly 1/3 of BU is Greek, there are 14 fraternities and 7 sororities.

    Clubs and Activities

At the beginning of every year, there is the activity fair where students are able to check out all of the clubs and organizations. It's a great way to get involved in something!

We love our founder, Lydia Moss Bradley, and she is mentioned alllllll the time!

    Bang for the buck

Although it is expensive, I couldn't see myself anywhere else. Everything about Bradley clicked for me. The professors, the RAs, the social life, it's all great and I'm sure that you won't be able to find it anywhere else.

    What to do for fun

They are numerous clubs and groups that you can join or you can just hang out with friends! There's usually something going on around campus!

    Food and Dining

For as small as the campus is, the food is pretty good! I'm a picky eater and I can almost always find something to eat in the dining halls.

    Dorm Life

I love that the campus is small enough that you can walk to your friends' dorms in only a matter of a few short minutes. I was fortunate to live in the newly redone Heitz Hall and I loved it! The rooms were actually a room and half and having brand new bathrooms was awesome!

    Academic Rigor

I'll admit, the classes were a lot different than high school so it took some adjusting. But the professors are great and they will help you, they understand that college is a new experience for you.

    Tips for prospective students

Don't let the Peoria area scare you off. A lot of prospective students ask me how I feel about the area, and honestly, Bradley has everything that you need and you rarely have to leave campus. So definitely keep an open mind!

    In three sentences

I love BU! From the academics to the atmosphere to the athletics, Bradley is the place to be. It's small enough that you are able to get to know your fellow students and professors but it still has the feel of a larger university.

There's always security around, and they are really nice about college life. They know when there's something bad going on and when it's just kids having fun.

    Bang for the buck

It seems a little expensive, but for the most part, it is worth it. It's up to the student to get out there and have a good time.

    What to do for fun

Barbecue Kitten: the on campus improv group. There is almost always a production or a party on campus.

    Food and Dining

Try the vegetarian options. They tend to be prepared better.

    Dorm Life

All dorms suck. Bradley's dorms are decent, but it really depends on the vibe of the roommates and the floor as a whole.

    Academic Rigor

Some classes are more challenging than others. Usually the gen-eds are really easy and the major/minor courses are more intensive.

    Tips for prospective students

    Campus Safety

Peoria is somewhat a dangerous area. That's not to say that you should be scared out of your mind walking from the cafeteria to your dorm at 4 pm on a weekday. No! Just take precaution and think before you do. This means you should NOT take a jog at 5 o'clock in the morning carrying your brand new iphone-that wouldn't be smart! What you should do is walk in groups when you have to walk somewhere at night, and use your brain!! Nothing will happen to you if you make wise choices. Also, since police are always patrolling the campus you shouldn't have a reason to be afraid. They are always on guard for trouble.

    Greek Life

Greek life is fairly prevalent on Bradley's campus. The majority of the students are pledged/affiliated with a fraternity/sorority in some way. But its not just social Greek organizations that are at Bradley. In fact, there are nursing, volunteering, and other academic based Greeks. The good things about Greeks beside the fact that the freshmen get free entrance to events is the fact that it looks good on your resume and its an excellent way to network once you'r graduated.

    Clubs and Activities

There are a ton of clubs/ activities at this school. You can chose from volunteering to fashion clubs and even religious groups. It is limitless. And there is even an activities fair in the beginning of the year which can allow you to sign up for clubs. There are many choices.

Great for these types of students

This school is great for students who may like to catch a few parties during the year but are mostly focused on their classes. Its also ideal for someone who learns better with more of a one-on-one approach. Since Bradley's classroom sizes aren't very large its easier for someone who isn't a self-teacher to learn since they can count on their professors being able to help them and WON'T have to teach themselves.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

Bradley kids especially the younger classes love the tradition of going to Bacci's (a pizza place) on the weekends. They usually head there after partying at the nearby frats, and congregate in the place just to act wild and show of their drunkenness. It may be a little odd, but it is sometimes entertaining to hang out at Bacci's because you never leave bored. There's always something interesting occurring there.

    Bang for the buck

To get the most bang out of your buck you should save whenever possible (especially food), and avoid volunteering people to use your meal plan money. Many first year students end up with very little money to buy food and usually go around begging for food, and you don't/shouldn't want to have to get to that point. All of that can easily be avoided by tracking how much meal plan money you spend, and saving all unfinished food instead of wasting it.

    What to do for fun

Peoria can be a dangerous area depending on where you go. So its a good idea to travel in packs depending on where you're going. This of course shouldn't limit the fun. There are in fact some fun things to do that aren't too far away. There is a movie theater, shopping mall, grocery stores, bars, restaurants, and many more.

    Food and Dining

The food isn't bad but it isn't good. It's fair. Its not as good as high-end restaurant food, but its not necessary atrocious. My biggest critique would be that it can tend to be very bland and flavorless, but on the upside they do provide condiments to add more taste. There are at least 5 dinning areas to get food. Fortunately, not every place serves burgers/pizza. The cafeterias tend to have a lot of variety and even have started supplying healthier choices. All in all the food selection is pretty decent.

    Dorm Life

Dorm life is pretty laid back. There aren't any crazy things that happen in dorm. Usually, RA's or ARA's take their floor on small trips a few times every month to get better acquainted with them, and to enjoy some fun activities. Other than that the dorm's resident assistants require the floor-members to listen to them explain some mandatory information such as fire safety/room safety. This isn't too much of a bother. Depending on who your roommate is, you can enjoy a lot of fun times in the dorms.

    Academic Rigor

The courses here can be quite challenging. Bradley offers an array of courses from chemistry to communications and fine arts. But don't think you will get of your classes without putting any effort. Bradley professors (for the most part) don't hand out grades-they are earned! Therefore, take your classes seriously and find classes that you are sure you will at least pass in. Of course you will need to take some hard classes from time to time, but the best idea is to find a rating of your professor on ratemyprofessors.com and locate the best professor for you.

    Tips for prospective students

I would advise any future Bradley students to lose any idea that it is a party school. Bradley is not a school were there are endless parties every day; I guess you can say it is more of university geared toward academic excellence, and only that. Also, it would be wise for any first year students to try to go to all of their classes, and stay on track with their course. Your workload can catch up to you in no time. Remember you're here to learn. A final word of advice would be to be conscientious of your meal plan spending. Try to keep track of how much money you spend on food so you won't be on the brink of starvation.

Bradley has a ton of extracurricular activities. I plan on going Greek, joining the radio station and newspaper, and playing intramural sports!

    Food and Dining

    Dorm Life

All of the resident halls are really nice. No matter where you end up, you won't be screwed. Most of the rooms are of equal size and each building has its own individual perk, for example University Hall has a big lounge and Geisert has a cafeteria built in so that you don't have to bundle up just to eat in the winter. Heintz hall used to be complained about it but was just renovated, so all of the dorms are very up to date.

    Food and Dining

    Dorm Life

The greek life is very prominent on campus and they are always throwing fun events and activities for everyone to enjoy. They show their pride all over campus and they are very friendly to people even if they aren't in a sorority. Your always guaranteed to get a bid into at least one of the sororities.

    Clubs and Activities

There are a couple hundred clubs and organizations. From fencing, to math club, to marketing club, and even Pinterest club. There's one for every kind of person and if they cant find one they can start their own.

Great for these types of students

Versatile, friendly, and driven ambitious students.

The school is very proud of their founder, Lydia Moss. They take mornings class off one day in October to celebrate the founding of the school.

    Bang for the buck

The campus is beautiful and the buildings are well kept. The gym is fantastic and there are more than enough machines to go on. There are many programs to do that are fun. There is a Hollywood program that students can do their junior and senior year where they can visit California for a semester and intern at big places such as Warner Bros or even on the Ellen Degeneres show. Bradley and texas are the only schools that do this program and its a great opportunity.

    What to do for fun

There's always nightlife, every day of the week theres a party a person can go to. They have fun themes, like during homecoming there will be a foam party. If a person is not into the party life there are also a lot of other options. The school throws fun events, such as a paint fight on the campus or a rib fest. There are movies every month that a person can go see on campus, and there are also fun shows. They have comedians visit, speakers , magic shows, and singers. Off campus there's a yogurt place that many people love to go to. There are also a couple of restaurants to go to for a nice dinner. These are just a few to list, there is a lot to do on campus and even off. There's something going on everyday and every weekend.

    Food and Dining

The food is my least favorite of the school because I have never found the dining halls to have the freshest food. There's always a variety and they do provide options for people who cant have gluten products. Also, on the positive side, there are other food courts a student can go to get Chick-filet or fresh salads.Of course these are just a few. The meal plan also guarantees you wont starve and will always have enough to make it through the semester.

    Dorm Life

People are very friendly and when you keep your door open there will always be people coming to say hi. There are themes on each floor to keep it fun and the dorms are a decent size. They aren't too small and give enough space. There are enough showers and stalls in the bathrooms and the janitorial staff are always helping to maintain the cleanliness of the building.

    Academic Rigor

I find the academics at Bradley to be challenging. I know that I have to study for days and put in the extra hours to excel on an exam or quiz. It was a wake up call because I never had to study much in high school. It takes hard work to do well and it's a great lesson to learn for the real world.

    Tips for prospective students

Take every opportunity given. Community service, clubs, and greek life are all great ways to meet people; learn what interests you and build an outstanding resume. Try to not hide out in the dorm and always put your face out there. Even if its just to grab lunch or workout at the gym. Most importantly, get to know your professors. They are all kind and understanding. Sit front row, ask questions, and never hesitate to ask for help or strike up a conversation after class. They are there to help and if they know you and like you, they will help write a letter of recommendation for an internship or career.

    In three sentences

Bradley University truly sticks to it's motto, Go Far, Go Bradley. There are many opportunities for every student, including freshman, and the course work is challenging. The campus is beautiful and everyone is friendly; I wouldn't hesitate to give the school a five star rating.

Dining halls have typical style food. Not many options without a car off campus however.

The professors are knowledgeable and expect you to learn the material. The math and physics departments are terrible however which makes the engineering degree harder than it otherwise should be.

    Campus Safety

I feel 100% safe on Bradley's campus. Between the safety cruiser, of which you can call at an time, for free, to drive you anywhere around campus, to the Bradley Police, also available at any time and constantly spotted around campus, I never feel scared. Even walking alone around campus and at night I feel safe even though you should always have a buddy. Bradley's campus is completely protected and safe and there is always someone there to help you or walk you home!

    Greek Life

Bradley has a greek life of about 60%! Bradley's greek life involves unity. There is no hazing or hatred. Everybody is equal and everybody gets along. Bradley's greek life doesn't match up to the typical sorority girl or frat guy talked about in movies and books. Bradley has it simple and greek life here is about common interests.

    Clubs and Activities

I am involved in so much on Bradley's campus and there's never a dull moment. From academic to interest clubs, greek life, intramural sports, dorm life, sport teams, events, volunteer groups, there is something for everyone. I think everybody is involved in at least one activity besides attending classes at the university!

Great for these types of students

If you've had enough of your hometown and are ready for a new beginning with the world at your finger tips, Bradley is the place for you. There's no doubt that you will meet amazing new people and find some of your best friends !

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

We have the lighting of the B which occurs on homecoming week along with several other activities. All students gather to see the large B on top of Bradley Hall be lit up! As a freshman it was so cool to see everybody come together for homecoming.

    Bang for the buck

For the high price of Bradley's tuition you get what you pay for. There's always something going on on campus and something for students to do to get involved. The high quality of professors, tutors, office hours, and programs offered, allow students to get all the help they need to scuceed.

We have two dining halls which have delicious meals. We have center court which offers several different kinds of food. The student center offerse pasta, moe's which is a mexican restaurant, chick-fil-a, and a pizza place.

    Dorm Life

The dorm life is very good! Some of the dorms are located within the dining halls so there is no need to leave the building. The dorms are all of similar size but with different layouts. The dorms comfortably fit two people per room and there are never really any problems

    Academic Rigor

Bradley offers great academics for all majors. Some are more difficult than others, but they're all worth it. Bradley provides tutors, study sessions, and office hours for teachers so that students are able to get all their questions answered! I have never gone into a test or class not knowing something without asking.

    Tips for prospective students

I highly reccommend talking with older students who have the same major as you. By doing this, you are able to find a good balance between going to class, studying, and free time so you do not become overwhelmed. Bradley's classes are challenging but if you have your classes layed out right, there should be no problem!

    Campus Safety

Despite its location in Peoria IL, Bradley's campus is very safe. Incidents are extremely rare.

    Greek Life

We have a very active Greek Life. Great for those interested.

    Clubs and Activities

There are many clubs, sports, and organizations. The only thing we don't have, is a football team.

    Bang for the buck

It's a tad pricey, but worth it.

    What to do for fun

Go to concerts and theatrical productions! Our bands and orchestra are great! The theater program is also superb at Bradley and they always put on interesting shows.

    Food and Dining

The dining halls are not the best out of colleges I've visited, but places like the student center and Center Court offer decent food options. If you don't mind walking a bit further, then Campus Town has some delicious options.

    Academic Rigor

Coursework is not impossible, but not something you're likely to breeze through. I'd say it's about average. Really depends on your major and how much you are wiling to do.

    In three sentences

An incredibly supportive environment. Although held in extremely high regard for their engineering program, Bradley offers a quality education in numerous disciplines. Plus, everything is within walking distance.

    Campus Safety

I'm not dead and I haven't been robbed so... it's pretty decent I guess.

    Greek Life

See above. A lot of students here are Greek, and they know how to have fun.

    Clubs and Activities

    Greek life!

Great for these types of students

If you like quiet, dull surroundings, Bradley is for you. You really have to go out and look for fun, it won't just appear. Perfect for engineering majors.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

Greek Week is so much fun. Go up and down Greek Row and meet all of the fraternity and sorority members. It's the best event all year.

    What to do for fun

Join Greek life. You will not regret it, even if you don't think it's for you. It's fun and your brothers or sisters are more than willing to help you with academics.

    Food and Dining

The meal plan here is thievery. The food is overpriced and it blows.

    Dorm Life

University Hall should never be anyone's top choice. I spend as little time in my room as possible. They're cramped and hardly big enough for one person, let alone two.

    Academic Rigor

Classes are tough. Stay on task and you should be fine, but some professors could hardly care less about one particular student, they're focused on the class. Don't expect a lot of personal attention without asking for it, this isn't high school.

    Tips for prospective students

Bradley University is known for it's engineering, education and nursing students. That's not to say the other majors are bad, but you should certainly keep other schools in mind.

    In three sentences

Bradley University has a friendly, engaging environment. The campus is beautiful but that's about the only beautiful thing here in Peoria. Everyone cares about your academics and will help you to succeed, but a lot of the academics here aren't exactly top-notch.
