Categories Comments Clubs and Activities There is always something going on, with over 50 different clubs in the school you get to go around meeting new people and enjoying the club activities.
Bang for the buck You get out what you put in, means you will only enjoy what you put out. I think that this school is very good for the money paid, even though it is a small campus the people you meet and the experience is once in a life time. Students have very good professors, good library and a demanding system that only cares for your success at school.
What to do for fun Well depends, hanging out in the student lounge conversing while watching tv, or playing basketball in the gym with the school team to playing video games in one of the clubs, there is always something to do.
Food and Dining The school cafe offers different types of food everyday, giving the students a different choice day by day at a good price range. Around the school campus there are many different types of restaurants that you can choose from also.
Dorm Life There are no dorms.
Academic Rigor There are very dedicated professors that are really devoted to improving students. The standards are tough but also very achievable. There are a lot of people wanting to help you achieve your academic career.
Tips for prospective students Get involved in events and activities. Talk to fellow students and faculty about school resources and very well needed information.
In three sentences Hostos is a great school that has some really good and caring professors. Students get the enjoy one on one learning with professors by having access to new computers, and a good library. Hostos is the definition of a family based school, from what you get out of it.

Greek Life No greek life
Clubs and Activities many clubs, organizations and activities if you are a person who enjoys doing community service and planning events for the student body
Great for these types of students Great for students who just came from another country because the main population of students consists of minorities---this helps with the language barrier and feeling comfortable in a new environment.
Bang for the buck Great price per credit! No a very expensive school
What to do for fun there are always events, parties and educational forums given by student organizations.
Food and Dining other students come from different campuses and they say they loved the cafeteria. Everyday the menu is changed up and you have a variety of foods to choose from whether you are vegetarian or not.
Dorm Life There is no dorm life---students communte to the campus.
Academic Rigor Hostos' graduation rate is not that great. Most students come here and slack off, dont graduate, or just never come back. However, there are many students who have academic goals and want to achieve them. There are honors programs specifically for these students. Also, students in the allied health programs---radiology, dental hygiene, and nursing---must have a high gpa to even get into these programs. the programs are very competitive.
Tips for prospective students Students at Hostos must be serious about their schoolworlk---we are not in high school anymore---and thats what many new students seem to forget.
In three sentences Hostos is a school with a lot of diversity that has a great allied health division. Many students come here to go into radiology, nursing, or dental hygiene. The programs are very competitive and students graduate with a career when leaving the school

Great for these types of students The plus to being a student at Hostos Community College is that there is huge multicultural rate as well as equity for those who come from different backgrounds.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The locations that can be quite confusing to new students would be the A building mainly because there is no 2nd floor, so a student would have to take the stairs to the 2nd floor, where as if they wanted to go to the 3rd or 4th floor they could take the elevator.
Bang for the buck In attending Hostos Community College, you won't be regretful.
