If you are girl, walk to 59th st and there you have it H&M, Bloomingdale's etc etc. Central park is like two blocks from hunter so that's a great hangout spot. Also there are a couple of restaurants and CHIPOTLE!! nearby.

You can hang out with friends in the cafeteria or if the day is nice, make your way to Central Park two blocks over. There's always heading into Midtown to shop and explore the area.

There's Central Park if you enjoy being outside. There are also many clubrooms where one could also hang out. After hours, there is also a local bar where students can choose to visit.

Definitely use the gym, since it's free why not use your break to exercise! You can also join clubs on Wednesday or browse around if you'd like to join the Greek life! Central park is also very close to Hunter college, take a stroll around the park or sit there and enjoy nature.

Hunter is located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, but with easy access to the rest of New York City. There is always something to do here, whether you like museums, concerts, sports, etc. There are also plenty of extracurricular opportunities available.

If you can find the extracurricular schedules, it's nice to go to one of the musical symphonies that are offered to Hunter College students for free. Listening to classical symphony can be quite relaxing prior to studying for exams. I also like to take a stroll though Central Park, since it is relatively close to school.

During breaks, you could always walk to Central Park. Go out with your friends to eat or talk somewhere. Lexington Avenue is FILLED with places to relax, eat, shop, and enjoy yourself. If you joined a club, you could visit the club rooms and take part in the activities they have. Go to the library and take out a book. Read something. The computer labs are open for most of the day, so you can always do something on the computer.
