You can also hang out at the Rec Center pool, which is really nice, go on hikes, go downtown, and spend your days however you like. It is a very free and easy campus that has a lot to do.

» Read MoreThere's plenty to do here at Cal Poly. A new Rec center just opened up at the beginning of last year that is a state-of-the-art facility. There's hardly a student on campus that isn't into staying fit or getting into shape! If you're not a sporty type, there's plenty to do downtown too! Only a 5 minute bus ride to get there and lots of little shops and mainstream stores down there.

» Read MoreThere's a lot to do for fun! There's a bowling alley right on campus in the University Union, as well as several hiking trails not far from campus. Hiking is definitely one of the most popular things to do; San Luis Obispo has absolutely beautiful hills and generally nice weather. There are also many different clubs on campus, many of them recreational. If you're not a club person, it's not hard to find a few friends and go into town to go shopping or see a movie!

Also there are a ton of clubs on campus for all sorts of people from fencing, dancing, robotics, to concrete canoe racing. Also the beach is only about 10 minutes away.
