Categories Comments Great for these types of students Cal State Fullerton is a good school for all students, especially those in business or musical theater; however, I it is not the best for those in the natural sciences, mathamatics, or computers.
Tips for prospective students Ask questions in class. Take advantage of your professor's office hours. Become involved on campus in an organization you are interested in.
Bang for the buck Compared to other schools outside of California, Cal State Fullerton is a cheap school considering the amount of learning, opportunity, and resources a student can take advantage of. Even within California, Cal State Fullerton is decently priced.
Am enjoying being here At Cal State Fullerton, I have met some very kind, helpful, and intelligent teachers as well as friendly and smart students. However, a lot of teachers don't push their students to learn more and try harder. Especially in GE classes, more than half of the students in a particular class only want to pass the class with a C. This is the case in most colleges, but I hadn't expected it when I enrolled at this university. I would enjoy a more challenging environment.
Am learning a lot During my first year of college, I found that there is so much a student can learn - whether it be in-depth knowledge in a particular subject or about the college system itself - moreover, each student is responsible for taking the initiative to learn. At California State University - Fullerton, most of the teachers I've come across only give their students the information they need to pass a class. It is up to the student to take time and ask a question or go to office hours so that he can learn and more fully understand the subject.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students CSUF has a great Business program and is also great for Musical Theatre and Nursing. The Mihaylo College of Business and Economics was one of Princeton Review's Best 296 Business Schools, is the largest business school in California, and the fifth largest in the United States. The Musical Theatre program is one of the best in the country.
Tips for prospective students Sign up for a Freshman Program after you get accepted, because you will receive priority registration for your first semester and help you adjust better your first semester because you are enrolled in a University 100 class with helpful professors, mentors, and CSUF staff. Sign up for the Finish in Four program around October of your first semester because that enables you to have priority registration during your 4 years at this institution. Having priority registration is a big deal because it's very difficult to get the classes you need with the budget cuts (they cut lots of classes). Also, look your professors up on RateMyProfessor.com because having a good professor makes a BIG difference.
Bang for the buck All the schools within the CSU system are pretty affordable, but there have been huge budget cuts and tuition hikes. Within the last year, tuition has increased almost $1,000. Not only has tuition increased, but teachers are being told to take furlough 6 days a semester that will cut their salaries by 10%. Students are paying 30% more, but is receiving 10% less for their education because teachers don't have classes on their furlough days. Even with the tuition hikes, Cal State University, Fullerton is more affordable than other 4-year universities.
Am enjoying being here Cal State University, Fullerton is a commuter school, therefore most of the students in class are there to get it done with so they can go home. There isn't much of a social aspect here and it's difficult to meet new friends. The school has apartment-style dorms that house only 800 students, which is only 2% of the student population. There are much more students that live off campus, but they are dispersed throughout the city. Meeting people in class is difficult and you have to make an effort to meet people- check out the clubs and student organizations on campus at the DiscoverFest held in the quad at the beginning of the semester, it will make your experience here more enjoyable.
Am learning a lot The classes at Cal State University, Fullerton are fairly easy. I had expected college to be a lot more difficult, but CSUF has proved otherwise. Although the classes are not difficult, they have allowed me to grow intellectually. The professors don't necessarily assign huge work loads, instead they assign assignments and projects that are relevant to the class and real life. The professors help you develop your critical thinking skills by opening your eyes to seeing things from different perspectives by encouraging classroom and group discussions. Many of the professors have unique teaching styles that are very effective in having their students learn.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Anyone. Our school is very diverse!
Tips for prospective students Take your ELM and EPT as soon as possible and turn in your high school transcripts as well. Be flexible with the schedule you want- save yourself from the disappointment that students don't always get a perfect schedule. Use ratemyprofessors.com when picking your classes. Join a club and definitely go Greek!
Bang for the buck Since CA budgets are very tight, it has been somewhat difficult to enroll in the exact classes students want this semester. In comparison to other schools, our tuition is VERY low and, considering how great our professors and programs are, I think the money is worth it.
Am enjoying being here The first month of school was alright for me because ASI puts on a lot of freshmen activities to get to know people but they aren't always huge because CSUF is a commuter school. The best thing a student can do here is join a club- whether it's ASI, spirit, Greek life, anything. After going through sorority recruitment last fall my life has improved by leaps and miles. Greek life doesn't just boost your social calendar, it teaches you time management, helps you serve the community, and provides you with a sisterhood or brotherhood that will last a lifetime. I can't speak for other clubs at CSUF but I know that any member will tell you the same... join a club and enjoy CSUF life!
Am learning a lot In high school, I breezed through without cracking a book because most of the teachers didn't make me want to learn. Here, at Cal State Fullerton, all my professors are passionate about the subject they teach so it makes me eager to learn from them. The teachers here don't want to just give you a grade, they want to spread knowledge.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students CSUF is great for Business majors- the Business program here is absolutely fantastic and very prominent. This is also a great school to attend if you plan on going in the educational route. CSUF has a great teaching credential program, and getting a credential from this school can score big time with future employers. This is also a great school for students who like to be challenged intellectually, and prefer to use their brain more than their hands.
Tips for prospective students If you want to do well in classes, attend professors' office hours! They are very helpful and it allows for better one-on-one instruction. It's especially helpful if your class sizes are very large. It's not like in high school, where the teachers know your names and your work ethic. The only way you can get in good with the professors are to attend the office hours. If you are having financial trouble, and would still love to attend college, I really recommend applying for the President Scholars Program. Besides getting a full ride, you also can get many perks like free parking passes, use of a laptop, and early registration-(which is SOOO important as a freshman). You can visit http://www.fullerton.edu/scholars/ for more information.
Bang for the buck Even though CSU's are experiencing a lot of furlough days due to budget cuts, CSU Fullerton has actually dealt with this situation very well. Instead of cutting out winter or summer classes altogether, they have chosen to take a few days out of the regular school semester, which means.. lots of vacations! Also, there are many scholarships offered on-campus that can really help out.
Am enjoying being here The campus at Fullerton is very large and beautiful. My favorite part of being on this campus is the fact that it seems very close to nature. There are little bunnies and other small creatures that come out and graze on the grass at night, and it is absolutely heart-wrenching. However, I cannot speak as highly of the quality of the students that attend this school. Perhaps it is because I am not used to the OC lifestyle, but it's very difficult to communicate or relate to many of the students here. Many of them do not care about school and grades, so most of the time, they have a tendency to interrupt your classroom time.
Am learning a lot Many of the professors at Cal State Fullerton are very knowledgable in their respected area of study, and show a great deal of passion about the topics they teach. The education is of a very high quality, and the curriculum is very intellectually challenging. There are some courses that would be considered easy, but you actually learn a lot -even if you don't do a lot. I think that the classes and the way of teaching at CSUF is more theoretical, and less hands-on.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Great for students of all ages.I was in class with new RN's,seasoned RN's,RN's returning to the acute care setting too. We each had so much to share and learn from each others point of view.
Tips for prospective students It is so worthwhile to grow. Currently I am laid off with an incomplete BSN,very difficult to get another manager position without it in Southern Ca. Get this under your belt, and move on the MSN if you want to climb higher.
Bang for the buck I used every bit I learned in that first year, from updating how to use the computer based articles and refreshed pediatric nursing in my job. I still refer to Ages and Stages for help with friends and neighbors!
Did enjoy being here I chose CSF because they opened a class in Pomona Valley,a nearby hospital. As I completed my first year, the Pomona cohort was moved to the main campus and I could not continue as I had just been promoted.
Did learn a lot It was so valuable to update my career at this time, with technology and practice updates. The teaching methodology was well aligned with the RN returning to school.Very supportive.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Cal State Fullerton's campus is quite small, making it great for students who fear getting lost or not making it to their classes on time. I've had schedules with 10 minute gaps between each class and I've managed to make it to all of them on time. This school is perfect for Business majors. We have a brand new Business building, Steven G. Mihaylo Hall, and a wide variety of business courses. We also have an outstanding Dance and Theater program, which our school is nationally known for.
Tips for prospective students If you're thinking of attending Cal State Fullerton, I do recommend it. I see it as more of a commuting school, meaning I don't see a lot of students hanging around campus when classes aren't in session; I see it as more of a school where students come solely to take their classes and go home. We do have a wide variety of clubs, from cultural to educational to recreational. We even have a roller dirby club, which I found very interesting. There are also many clubs supporting specific majors, such as the Society of Professional Journalists, etc. Unfortunately, our school does not have a football team, so if you're looking for that, maybe the school isn't really for you. Other than that, CSUF has a lot to offer and keep its students busy when they aren't studying or doing homework.
Bang for the buck All Cal States at the point in time are raising tuition and CSUF is no different. I'm definitely getting a good education, but I don't entirely agree with the rise in tuition. This is not a reflect on the school itself, but the chain of Cal States in general. I do, however, believe that CSUF is worth the money that I'm paying.
Am enjoying being here Cal State Fullerton is a good school for me personally because all the buildings and classrooms are easily accessible, and within a decent distance. The lot that I park in is close to campus, so when I want to go home I don't have to do a lot of walking just to leave. It offers many interesting clubs that show spirit and do what they can to recruit new members during our club rushes. The professors are nice and know what they're doing. My favorite part of CSUF is probably the diversity in students and teachers. There's a little bit of everything.
Am learning a lot At CSUF, as far as instructors go, you get a fair share of full-out college professors, as well as Graduate Students. Both do their jobs well and most know the subject they're teaching inside and out. I'm definitely getting my money's worth. Most of the professors I've had so far have told the class that they want us to be successful and learn; my Humans Communications Professor last semester told us that she wants us to be able to think critically and that her goal was not to fail us or confuse us on exams, and that she would always meet us halfway but it was up to us to put in the other fifty percent. So far, my experience at CSUF has been an enjoyable one.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students If you love theatre, musical theatre, or directing and are planning on studying any one of these things in college, Cal State Fullerton is the school for you. The theatre department takes itself very seriously, You will learn a LOT. The teachers are wonderful, and will push you to be a better performer. Admittedly, it is difficult to attain a BFA at this school, but if you are looking for good training in the field of acting or musical theatre, and you don't want to pay crazy amounts of money for tuition, go to Cal State Fullerton. The plays and musicals they put on are KILLER. Everything from the acting to the sets are superb. I've checked out Cal State Long Beach and USC and their theatre departments are a little lacking when compared to CSUF. I'm very happy with the musical theatre education I am getting. There is a lot of focus on dance, which is totally awesome. However, if you are looking to study musical theatre and you hate dancing or are scared of dancing, you might be out of your comfort zone. Just in my freshman year I was in 3 dances classes-- tap, ballet, and jazz-- all wonderful classes, and I learned a LOT. Overall, this school has a great theatre program. The teachers are helpful and push you to be a better performer. Not to mention, in-state tuition is a great bang for the buck. Not to be glanced over if looking to study theatre.
Tips for prospective students If you are looking to dorm, the dorms are ridiculously spacious and fancy. The single dorms, while more expensive, let you have your OWN ROOM...so if you get home from class and need to unwind without your roomies bothering you, you can shut yourself up in your room and do homework or watch hulu. Both the doubles and singles have 2 bathrooms per suite, with a kitchen (with a stove, fridge, microwave, basically everything you need), and a furnished living room-- commodities that are not included in most college dorms that I've experienced. The singles have 4 bedrooms, and the doubles have 3 bedrooms. In the singles you will have 3 roommates with one in each bedroom, and in the doubles you will have 5 roommates with 2 in each room. Just make sure that you like your roommates -- I had roommate trouble last year, it was not fun one bit!
Bang for the buck Cheap, cheap, cheap especially compared to the UCs. Great school for in-staters. It's a decent commuter school, too -- just make sure to get there early for parking.
Am enjoying being here Nice atmosphere, great weather, and REALLY close to Disneyland.
Am learning a lot Most of your G.E.'s are going to be a joke. Your major classes will be the ones that are informative and interesting.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students This school has a great baseball team, and would be great for business majors as well as those who want to become teachers. There is a large variety of people who go to this school, so anyone would fit in at this school. If you are outgoing, try to live in a dorm.
Tips for prospective students Ratemyprofessors.com is a great website to go to before registering. This gives you a feeling about how the teachers are and which classes you should take. In my experience, it has been very accurate. Also, if you are entering as a Freshman, you take your school ID picture the day of orientation, and you also register for classes that day. It would be a good idea to choose the earliest orientation day you can so that you won't have to worry about classes being filled.
Bang for the buck CSUF is fairly cheap compared to other schools. The state budget crisis for the 2009-2010 school year has however made the cost rise. Although it has been hectic registering for classes as well as paying for classes this year, I still feel like the education at this school is worth the money. Some people go to community colleges before a university, but I personally think that holds students back and it usually takes them 5 years to graduate. Going to CSUF straight out of high school is definitely worth the money.
Am enjoying being here This school is mainly a commuter school, so meeting people is sometimes hard. I too drove to school everyday; but, if I had the option, I would love to live on campus or in one of the surrounding apartments. It's a great way to meet new people and get the college life most people want. The school is great and has an amazing gym, bowling alley, pool room, and pub. Overall, the environment is great.
Am learning a lot Cal State Fullerton is a great Business school. It has taught me so much and the teachers there are great. Most of the professors love their jobs and are always available and willing to help their students. In my opinion, this school has the best Business program out of any of the Cal State schools. Their dual accreditation in Business and Finance makes it a great choice and a great learning experience.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students At CSUF, I really don't see a type of student that this school wouldn't be great for. CSUF is quite diverse and has a huge variety of activities to do on campus for any type of person. It really is a school that is great for everyone! The only type of person I can say shouldn't come to this school, is a commuter who doesn't like traffic at all. Depending on where you're driving from, traffic can take quite a while.
Tips for prospective students My first tip for any student looking at any college is to relax. Being a college student I know how stressful college searching can be, especially when making your decision. If you are attending CSUF as a first time freshman (not sure about transfer students), you need to know that going into registration and orientation is going to be very stressful and scary. Registering will be a nightmare because you aren't really allowed to talk to your friends or family about creating your schedule, since you compile it there. While registering you need to not panic and relax. Systems may go down, people may not be helpful, and you may not get a class that you wanted at a certain time. Yet being a first time freshman, you have an advantage. You have so many choices (except for your English and Math class) to create your schedule out of. If one class doesn't work out, then try getting a different one. Have a list of classes you could take with a lot of potential classes in case you don't get a couple of classes! The last tip I have would be get there early for parking! Parking can be a bit of a nightmare, especially the first few weeks of the semester. I would say get to school at least a half an hour early, depending on what time you start class at, to search for parking, either in a structure or in a flat lot.
Bang for the buck How much bang you get for your buck is really up to you. Cal State Fullerton is relatively cheap compared to other schools but it's not free. If you want to graduate as soon as possible and pay the least amount of money possible, you need to make sure you pass all of your classes. Don't waste your time and think all I need to do is pass this class. If you have that attitude, you're going to end up failing a class and eventually paying more! But assuming you pass all of your classes and what you're paying for, CSUF really does give you a lot of benefits you can use (such as using the Health Center whenever) that is included in your fees.
Am enjoying being here Cal State Fullerton always has something to do, even if you aren't living on campus. It has virtually any kind of club you can think of and join. It also has many nice places you can hang out in, do homework, or wait around for your next class at.
Am learning a lot Cal State Fullerton is actually a great learning environment. So far, all of my professors have been more than happy to help me with anything, from calculating my grade to helping me understand the material. The professors are also nearly always available during their office hours and encourage that you attend them if you need help. It may seem scary to go ask your professor for help, but they are amazing and more than helpful, not condescending at all. Additionally, even though you don't realize it, you are learning so much in one semester without feeling rushed at all.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Excellent atmosphere. Even having night classes, I have always felt safe. There are also poles everywhere where you could contact the police if needed.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus If you love nature or flowers, this school has an amazing arboretum. Men, if your hormones are out of whack like every other college student and want to take a girl somewhere in between classes..hint hint.
Bang for the buck Some people think if you pay more you will be provided a better education. Perhaps that is true, but all I know is that Fullerton has provided me with enough resources to learn, grow, and expand my knowledge everyday.
What to do for fun Again this is a personal opinion. There are so many clubs, events, groups, etc.. that everyone is open to all the fun they want. There are free movie nights, underwear runs, concerts, etc... Many people, and I hope yo do as well, choose classes that fit your personality and are fun to take as well. What I do for fun is hang out with my roommates. We study together and keep each other focused, but also reward our hard work and play hard.
Food and Dining I have been going to Fullerton for three years and have only ate on camps once! There are many places to eat off of camps that are very close. There are also lots of good places to eat on camps I always want to go to but haven't made my way to yet such as Panda express located in the food court! There are also plenty of grocery stores located around that sell the typical Ramen in all flavors.
Dorm Life Personally I have lived in apartments walking distance from school my three years of being here. I have experienced everything you can imagine from living with two other roommates (male and female) to living with five other roommates (all female). Everyone semester has been a fun adventure in its own way. As for the dorms, I have seen them and have been inside of them. They are beautifully constructed buildings. There are always students walking around and it seems like they all enjoy themselves. There is also the Gastronome where all the students from the dorms can eat together. The only negative thing i have heard is that they are more costly than the apartments.
Academic Rigor This completely differs for each student based on many different factors the individual is working with such as if they are going to work, doing athletics, etc... From my experience personally, I have had very reasonable expectations put upon me. I feel the staff knows that there is more going on in our lives than just school, however I feel they believe in us and help push us to work hard so we will feel accomplished when receiving our degrees.
Tips for prospective students ratemyprofessors.com This applies to any college. Even though everyone's views of teachers are different, this website has always been for the most part accurate for myself. I'd have to stay I have made my own schedule every semester with loving, fun teachers who care about education and the future of their students. This provides for a great learning atmosphere that will enhance your college experience to its fullest.
In three sentences The beauty about Cal State Fullerton is its diversity. No matter what you are going through in life, no matter what your outlook on college is, no matter how easy or hard things are for you, I guarantee you will have others around you who feel the same. At Fullerton we are a family; all working together as one unit but each individually contributing in our own way.

Categories Comments Campus Safety CSUF has a very safe campus. Our campus has emergency telephones on every corner of campus. If you have to walk to your car late at night, you can even call the police station, which is literally right on campus, and ask for an escort to your car.
Greek Life I highly recommend joining Greek Life at CSUF. It is pretty expensive, but definitely worth it. What you put in is what you'll get out. Being involved in Greek Life allows you to raise money for philanthropies and even work more hands on through volunteer experiences. In addition to this, you will meet so many fantastic people in greek life that will help you along your college experience.
Clubs and Activities There are over 200 clubs that CSUF has to offer, each with their own unique and compelling things to offer. There are so many great volunteer organizations that one can get involved in and give back. We also offer intramural sports for those who want to play sports for fun.
Great for these types of students If you enjoy getting involved and being a student leader on campus, ASI is a great way to do that. ASI is similar to student government and is a great way to enhance your leadership skills and be connected to school.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus CSUF is a very diverse school, and we pride ourselves on that. We have many multicultural festivities, including a recent Dias de Los Muertos parade on campus. There was also a day where an earthquake simulator was brought on campus and students were able to experience a 8.0 earthquake in order to gain awareness of these natural disasters. CSUF is always having strange and unusual things on campus, which makes every day entertaining and exciting.
Bang for the buck I honestly thought that cal state schools were not as prestigious and didn't have as much to offer as UC's, but honestly, CSUF offers anything one can possibly think of and more. I recommend saving your money and coming to CSUF because you are going to get the same education and experience anywhere else.
What to do for fun There are plenty of clubs and organizations one can be involved in. I, myself am in a sorority and think that it's one of the best decisions I've ever made. I've made so many true friendships that I know will last a lifetime, as cheezy as it sounds. If Greek Life is not for you, there are plenty of other ways to get involved. As for just hanging out, Down Town Fullerton has plenty of fun places to go. There are cute little coffee shops and vintage unique stores. There are also many bars for the older crowd.
Food and Dining The students living in the dorms are offered the great opportunity of eating at the Gastronome on a food plan. The Gastronome is a delicious restaurant style buffet. Whenever I eat there, it is a treat. I must add that their fresh baked cookies are to die for. However, some of my friends complain about having to eat there every day. There are plenty of fun and delicious restaurants in the surrounding area, including Chipotle, Pieology, and The Habit-- all reasonably priced as well.
Dorm Life Although I do not live in the dorms, I am there practically every day because of friends. Everyone living there is so friendly and nice. There is access to TV, pool tables, free printing, and internet. The dorms, themselves are high quality and really give one a sense of community.
Academic Rigor The GE classes I am currently enrolled in are not particularly difficult, though I still have to study a few hours each night in order to maintain good grades. From friends, I hear that some of the upper division courses are more rigorous and challenging.
Tips for prospective students I recommend doing your research before enrolling in classes. Check your Titan Degree Audit and see your counselor for both your GE Requirements and for your major. This will ease the process and save you the headaches that come along with enrollment.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Cal State Fullerton is such a diverse campus that it is great for all types of students. I know they have a great sports program as well as a winning dance team so anybody interested in that should definitely apply to CSUF.
Tips for prospective students For prospective students, just remember to focus on your schoolwork as well as maintaining a well-rounded resume. CSUF does not just look for GPA, but community service as well as involvement in your school.
Bang for the buck CSUF's tuition is so worth it compared to other CSU campus'. Your financial aid will cover all the costs, including books, unless you plan on living on campus.
Am enjoying being here Clubs and organizations are always promoting events around campus, so you will always have a function to attend. There's usually free food at these events as well. I also love the fact that CSUF is nearby everything. For example, downtown Fullerton, the mall, Target, and the beach!
Am learning a lot I have only been in school for almost two months now, but I can definitely say that Cal State Fullerton has great faculty and staff that encourage their students to learn and engage inside the classroom. They are also pleased when you come into their office hours, even if it doesn't have to do with school work!

Categories Comments Great for these types of students This school is great for students that want to be involved because they have to commute from home. I still commute and this is my third year into college and I do not mind because I am still at school all the time for recreation.
Tips for prospective students I know it is hard to know exactly what you what to major in and do with your career, but it is hard to keep changing your major once in college. It is costly and time consuming so try to figure out what you want to do in high school and explore different options then. Also, I was told many times that it is best to take only 12 units or so when you first become a college freshman because it could be too overwhelming. I got behind in my units after my first year in college so taking just one more class will not be too overwhelming. Get good grades from the beginning because trying to raise your GPA after not so good grades is difficult.
Bang for the buck Unfortunately California State University schools tuition's are on the rise ever semester. This means it is best to not slack off and stay on track to graduate as soon as you can. College is super important and should not be put on the back burner because of money. Like I said it is the best to make the best out of your college experiences and college education so use all the free resources you can. There is a free health center for students and even a beautiful recreation center to work out in so use what you can.
Am enjoying being here It is extremely hard for a commuter to come to school then leave once classes are over and actually enjoy being here. My best advice would be to get involved! I joined a sorority during my first year of college and it was the best decision I ever made. Feeling like you are apart of something and making new friends is a great feeling. There are a ton of groups and clubs on campus that can involve anyone with many different interests. Make the most out of college and you will not regret it.
Am learning a lot Students at any university usually have more drive than students attending junior colleges because mostly everyone comes to four-year colleges to succeed in life someway or another. I learn as much as I want to with as much effort I put into the class. There are many resources on campus to help students succeed in their classes, like peer tutors or the Writing Center. It really helps to take advantage of the professors' office hours or study groups.

Categories Comments Tips for prospective students My main point is to get involved and meet new people. School can also become a lot easier if you ask for help from professors.
Bang for the buck Tuition may be increasing, but this school is not bad. I heard it has the lowest tuition compared to other Cal States, and a better education system.
Am enjoying being here There are so many ways to get involved. I joined a club with my friend and it revolved around sporting and social events. Getting involved really helps with meeting new people, especially if you commute.
Am learning a lot If you have any questions, it is best to go to the professor's office hours for help. I recommend to pay attention in class and if you are not on campus, do not be afraid to email the teacher for help.

Categories Comments Tips for prospective students LEARN how to study because you're going to need it when you get into college.
Bang for the buck Compared to other cal states, CSUF is the cheapest. They offer a lot of scholarships and the financial aid office takes good care of the ones that need it.
Am enjoying being here This campus is so fun to be at. There's never a day where the campus is quite and boring because there's always music playing or clubs trying to recruit you. Besides having a lot of clubs to join, they have classes that are super fun. For example, I took Tai Chi and Volleyball and these classes were very interesting. There was never a day that I would want to miss the class.
Am learning a lot I thought coming in to college, I would be prepared for all my classes but I thought wrong. Teachers here taught me more in a semester than what my high school teachers taught me in a year. The professors here take the time to make sure you understand the concept & help you out with anything you need.

Categories Comments Campus Safety excellent! you will always feel safe at csuf because they have their own police unit! apart from the csuf police patrolling, there are various emergency blue phone polls all over campus. you can request a safety escort from there or any campus telephone too.
Clubs and Activities there are all sorts of clubs and activities year-round. students can attend meetings and orientations to familiarize themselves with clubs. activities are always fun to attend! everyone is so friendly and clubs are a great opportunity to gain leadership experience and in general to be a part of something.
Great for these types of students all types of students who want to have a fulfilling college experience.
Bang for the buck school is expensive, but csuf is really fair.
What to do for fun there is so much to do. at school you can play various games, like bowling, you can go to the student recreation center for some exercise, you can go to the arboretum, you can attend one of the movie events, or you can listen to bands. there is so much to do! plus, disneyland and knott's are not so far away. downtown fullerton is always popular. going to l.a. is fun too and even on long weekends you can plan a trip to san diego.
Food and Dining food is delicious! prices vary and they are student budget friendly. there are healthy alternatives too! there are so many places to eat at including the titan student union which has a beautiful courtyard. you'll never get bored! you'll find that you will learn of a new favorite place to eat and relax all the time!
Dorm Life i do not live in the dorms, but i have visited them and they are amazing! the technology is great! also, they have various resources, like study rooms, available exclusively to students that dorm.
Academic Rigor expectations at csuf are set high. it's not strictly about the grades, it's also about the growth of cultural knowledge, experience, and understanding. it's not that difficult of a school either, so don't stress.
Tips for prospective students i would recommend students to really take into consideration everything that csuf has to offer. the school has an abundance of resources ranging from academics to social life. you cannot afford not to attend csuf because the school is really helpful and is always giving back to its students in one way or another. i would recommend to participate in class, lose fear of public speaking. go to office hours and ask questions. make friends in class to form study groups.
In three sentences csuf is an amazing place to experience an academic and social life. the school truly cares about its students and the students care about one another. it's a community that not only expands your education, but broadens your mind.

Categories Comments What to do for fun downtown fullerton is an amazing location to hang out either in the daytime or nighttime. getting involved in clubs is also really fun once you find out what interests you!
Food and Dining there are awesome food options all over campus! panda express, round table, fresh kitchen, togo's, and more are located in the titan student union. additionally, however, there are food trucks that come to campus every day to serve more options. lastly, the school is surrounded by awesome off-campus dining like the habit, wich wich, and cantina lounge. downtown fullerton is also about five minutes away with countless delicious restaurants.
Dorm Life i didn't live in the dorms, but knew friends that did. they have recently added several new dorm buildings and a cafeteria called the gastronome, which is amazing. the ras also do a fantastic job of integrating activities in the building to bring people together.
Academic Rigor overall, it depends on the student, but i found that there are challenging classes all over every department. yes, there are certainly awesome classes that you can take for fun, but to gain a degree you have to work hard!
Tips for prospective students get involved! although it can be considered somewhat a commuter university, there are a lot of amazing clubs, resources, and people on campus to discover!
In three sentences fullerton is a great campus with great resources once you figure out what you want to do and where you want to go in life. the faculty on this campus is fantastic, and the area is beautiful. overall, it's a great university and only getting better.

Categories Comments Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus the undie run! so much fun and the end of the year. everyone strips down in their underwear and runs around the campus til we get shut down.
What to do for fun the town is located in the middle of everything. we're right by the beach, LA, Hollywood, Disneyland, the mountains, its perfect. If you're looking for on campus fun, there are always fun things to do with the Greek life, and athletics.
Food and Dining if you live on campus, the gastronome is the place to be. The food there is great, and there is always a huge variety.
Dorm Life I suggest everyone to live in the dorms their freshman year. It was SO much fun for me and it also helped me grow as a person a lot. I absolutely loved it. there is so much to do all the time
Tips for prospective students Attend your professors office hours as often as you can. It will really help your grade at the end of the semester. Also, get a big calendar to write all your due dates down to stay organized.
In three sentences Attending CSUF was one of the best decisions I have made in my life. They provide the best professors, academics, environment, and fun. Being a student at CSUF is a blast.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students I think just about any student could find success here, as long as they are willing to put in the effort.
Tips for prospective students I definitely think that being a proactive student is essential to gain the best education here. The teachers are willing to help, but you have to ask. I have found that I've done better here when I go and see teachers during their office hours, since class sizes are sometimes large and opportunity to ask questions may be limited. It is mostly a commuter school, so getting involved in the campus culture might be a bit more difficult, but is still possible. Also, take advantage of some of the great resources provided on campus. We're paying for them, so might as well use them!
Bang for the buck CSUF is reasonably priced, but tuition has been raised over the past couple years. The only problem I have with that is they don't tell you until after you've registered, so it was kind of a surprise when I went to pay. That being said, when compared to other schools, Fullerton is reasonable.
Am enjoying being here I have enjoyed the atmosphere at CSUF so far. Because most of the students on campus commute, it does not provide ample opportunity to get to know a lot of people. Getting actively involved in clubs and campus life is necessary in order to gain that kind of experience here. Since I am more on the shy side, it has been difficult for me to get involved and meet new people, so I kind of just go for class and then leave, but for someone who is more outgoing, I assume it would be easier.
Am learning a lot Becoming an active participant in your education is critical here. I have been fortunate to have had mostly great teachers my first year and a half here, and so their passion and dedication to the subject matter is inspiring and helpful. Even so, asking questions in class, taking advantage of the different resources the teacher provides students (including office hours, blackboard, etc), and participating in projects and discussions will make your educational experience that much better (and probably your grade, as well). So far, I have learned a lot, and most of my teachers have been great in the way that they are not just going through the motions, they have actually wanted their pupils to gain valuable knowledge.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students A good majority of the student percentage here commutes to school; so if you looking to stay at home for a few years or if you live close by, this is definitely a school to look into.
Tips for prospective students Think hard about what you want in a school, and definitely take a campus tour before you make your decision. Try to make a first hand experience, because after that tour, you will know what school feels right or wrong, and picture yourself walking through campus.
Bang for the buck Compared to the stress of getting courses in the community colleges around me, this school guaranteed that I would get the classes that I signed up for (and that all of my money is going to!), successfully too. I managed to get every course that I desired, in minimal time. So when it comes to getting classes and graduating on time, the Cal State system is the dream.
Am enjoying being here The campus is located in beautiful, sunny Southern California. Growing up only an hour away, a good portion of my life was already located down here, so it was not hard for this to be in the running for my top college choice. The campus is spacious and amazing, historic and futuristic at the same time. Living on campus, I am allowed the opportunity to experience of campus exploration that some students never get to have. As well, it is right in the center of this college-oriented town.
Am learning a lot One of the greatest aspects of the California State University system is their determination and drive to allow you, as the student, to broaden your educational horizons as much as possible. They wish for every student to succeed in their own terms, as well as experiencing everything outside of their own worlds. The General Education system grants students the opportunity to learn new things in very diverse educational topics, depending on what the student desires to dive into. As a first year student, this really encourages the learner to delve into new experiences and eventually narrow down what they wish to do in life. Overall, California State University, Fullerton excels at exactly what it is supposed to: student learning, progress, and success.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students All, it is a really diverse school.
Tips for prospective students Make sure this is the school you want to go to not your parents or your friends or else you won't be happy and you will end up not putting in the effort to pass your classes.
Bang for the buck This school is not in my budget but I am trying and hope That I can leave with the least amount of loans I would have to pay back.
Will enjoy being here There is not much of a social aspect here but you get what you put in so if you want to have fun take advantage of every opportunity that comes your way.
Will learn a lot I have met numerous teachers here and they all have inspired me so much and given me the motivation to keep moving forward on the path that I am taking now.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Business, Economics, Education (teaching), Acting, Music, Musical Theater, Dance, Kinesiology, Nursing, Engineering, ROTC, Communications (journalism, broadcasting, film).
Tips for prospective students Get your financial aid information ASAP and make sure ALL documents are processed by the school on time. If not, CALL and make sure they get it done. I had this problem the summer before my freshman year. If you're ever worried that something won't get in/done on time, call the school or respective office.
Bang for the buck Cal State Fullerton is very cheap compared to other schools both in and out of California. There are some pretty well known academic programs on campus, especially the Business and Economics, and Theater and Dance schools. So depending on the program you choose, you're getting a very good deal. HOWEVER, if you live on campus, its a different story. I live on campus and I pay between $7000 and $8000 dollars a year (not including tuition). Plus, that's the cheapest possible housing plan. It can be up to $11,000 if you choose to live in the singles suites, or the newest dorm rooms. On the plus side, they just added a food court and a food plan, so we don't have to fend for ourselves anymore.
Am enjoying being here I absolutely love it here! The students and teachers inside my major, and even some outside, are awesome. Most of the people I've met are kind, and willing to help you, or work with you. I have made some pretty amazing friends, and met some pretty inspiring teachers. The campus isn't the prettiest campus ever, but its not too bad. The resources available on campus are pretty great, especially the Pollak Library (one of my favorite places on campus!).
Am learning a lot I am learning more from my actual major courses than I am from my GE courses, but overall my GE courses have been challenging and the teachers have been willing to help me do more than just pass.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Like I said, its a commuter school so its designed for students who have to commute. This school is very relaxed compared to many other universities and most everyone I've met are very nice and very friendly. I'm going to be staying at this school until I have my Master's degree.
Tips for prospective students Parking is nigh on impossible to find close to buildings between 9 AM and 3 PM. If you want a good parking spot, either show up before 9 AM or after 3 PM. However, you can always find parking on the outskirts of the campus by the football stadium and baseball field. CSUF is home to a lot of great activities but you need to be proactive in looking for them. Read the school paper and keep up on whats going on.
Bang for the buck CSUF is one of the more affordable schools in the public university system. The EE department is ABET accredited and for roughly $3000 a semester (full time) you can complete your degree in a timely fashion. Of course, I transferred in from a community college so I ended up saving even more money.
Am enjoying being here It is true that CSUF is a commuter school. There is good and bad about this. On the one hand, you have to reach out to fellow students to make friends, join clubs or be involved in campus activities. On the other hand, the diversity of CSUF's student body means you can get to know people from many different backgrounds and many different places of origin. Also, CSUF has a very active club which studies Historical European Martial Arts and finding this club has already made my entire experience at this school worth it so far.
Am learning a lot I am studying electrical engineering at this school. The EE department may be small but it is made up of some pretty top-notch professors with extensive knowledge of their subjects. All the EE faculty have Ph.Ds in their field and their areas of specialty range from GPS to fiber optics to solar power to antennas. Also, they are all very nice people for the most part (just don't be late for class and don't slack).

Categories Comments Great for these types of students If you love to study and have personal preferences of the setting you would like to study in, this is the best campus to attend to. They provide many different settings for students, so that students can find the perfect spot for studying. They also provide hundreds of computers, enough for every student, so that they can do their research or just go on facebook. This school is also great for students that are trying to be more involved and make more friends. CSUF makes it very easy to join clubs and get involved. There are hundreds of chances to make a difference and meet new people along the way.
Tips for prospective students Carefully choose your classes, and make sure you look in to it. Try not to take classes that you will not enjoy, because then it will be hard to focus in class. Also, look into clubs and organizations. There are hundreds of different types of clubs and organizations available for students. Getting involved makes college more enjoyable and unforgettable. CSUF makes is very easy to stay on track and prepared each year. Always make sure to do your research and take advantage of all the great sources this campus provides.
Bang for the buck California State University initially started out much cheaper, however with the budget cuts, the tuition has been gradually rising. CSUF is getting expensive as the years go by. The dorms have also greatly increased. However, CSUF tries their best to try to keep their costs as cheap as possible. Even though it is getting pricey, if students take advantage of the free resources provided for them, then students can make the money worth it. It is great because there is a health center on campus, and students can get check ups, pap smears, x-rays, chiropractor, etc. for practically free. Antibiotics usually do not run more then five dollars. The health center has all the same resources as a clinic. It is very helpful to keep each student healthy.
Am enjoying being here I have been living in the dormitories on campus since my first year of college. I greatly enjoy attending and living at CSUF. I was able to make friends right away because CSUF hosts many programs and activities in order to give students the chance to meet one another and make new friends. The environment is very beautiful, with landscape and even an arboretum on campus. There is always a nice place to study and relax, rather it is the library, cafe, classroom, dorm room, or even the arboretum. Depending on ones personal preference, CSUF accommodates. CSUF has many different resources for students, in order to keep students on track and confident. They even have free counseling sessions in order to allow students to express their concerns. Attending CSUF has built my confidence and motivation. I am always looking forward to the new school year, and can not wait to begin my new classes.
Am learning a lot When I started to attend California State University Fullerton, I did not realize that I would learn so much about myself and my capabilities. It is my third year now, and I have not only learned new material academically, but also how to be independent, manage money, communication, and social skills. I became more confident with my identity and I clearly see who I want to be in the future. My classes are interesting, and because I am active in my classes, I gain a lot more then just knowledge. I strengthened my studying skills, and time management.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Anyone who is an individual will be just fine. You must know yourself, know what you can handle, and take it head on. However, within the first semester, you will learn to become an individual because that is just how it is. It isn't a bad thing because it is an essential part of life to be able to do things on your own, it's a part of growing up. CSUF is great for any student!
Tips for prospective students Don't be afraid! Relax! It is a bit overwhelming at first but once you get the hang of it, it is a blast! College is a lot of fun but you also have to be prepared. Everything depends on you as an individual, the professors aren't going to remind you about assignments or anything; they gave you the syllabus for a reason. Learn how to manage your time and start implementing self-discipline because it will save you! Homework is rare, it is mostly lecture and tests. But that comes with a price. You MUST study because if you fail the test, you are bound to fail the class since your grade is based almost entirely off of tests. But overall, it is a lot of fun! I don't dread going to school but actually love being there.
Bang for the buck Money is an issue with anything now a days but it is worth the education that is received here. I love all of my classes, my professors and my friends. I think that the money is definitely worth it!
Am enjoying being here I absolutely love being here! I want to work here some day as a Biology 171 Lab TA so that I can be the one making the experience just as great for future students as it is for me. The environment is amazing because everyone is doing their own thing but at the same time everyone has fun and makes friends. The students and faculty are really nice and they truly want you to succeed in all that you do.
Am learning a lot I am currently a Biological Science major and I do not even know how to express how much I have learned! It is a lot of information but it is also a lot of fun. I learn a lot in all of my other classes but the work load isn't unbearable if you are good at managing your time. It can seem like it is a lot of work, but once you step back and take a breath, you will realize that it really isn't that much. You will most likely learn to teach yourself as well since you study majority of the time but it's still fun to learn.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Students who don't care about just being another student ID, don't mind regular tuition increases, and are ok not being able to get into classes because it's so impacted.
Tips for prospective students Check out all of your other options first.
Bang for the buck Tuition keeps rising while the quality of the education declines.
Am enjoying being here Parts of the campus are modern. But for the most part it's ugly and rundown. They have a rec center with a gym that looks modern and up to date but most of the equipment is broken. The classrooms are old and cramped. Everything seems to have a fine layer of grime over it.
Am learning a lot I'm learning some. But for the most part, my classes are repeats of what I got at my junior college, and poor repeats at that.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students If you're a hard worker and have goals, then this is the school for you. There are so many clubs, organizations, and resources available to you. Buckle up and have fun! :)
Tips for prospective students Make sure you're on top of your studies and meet deadlines on time. This isn't high school. There is no such thing as late assignments here and if you miss one there isn't really any extra credit to save you. Just do all your work and you'll be fine, but otherwise you're risking your grade.
Bang for the buck With all the extra facilities CSUF really is worth the money.
Am enjoying being here I don't think there has been a teacher that I've been completely against and most of the students here are really great and easy to talk to.
Am learning a lot This college has so many courses to offer. I'm the artsy type so for me have options where I can complete my GE requirements with art, music, and dance classes is a big plus.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Overall it's a commuter campus, so it's best for students that like to keep to themselves and aren't looking for a fun, enjoyable, typical college experience.
Tips for prospective students Get to school about an hour early; this gives you a sufficient amount of time to find a parking spot (if you can't find any, park in the G lot--it's far away but you will most likely find a spot if you're desperate for one). Meet and talk to as many people in your classes as possible; this is a good idea, especially if you need to miss class one day, you can ask for any assignments that you missed.
Bang for the buck I can't complain about a whole lot. Parking permits are $220 a semester, and trying to find a parking spot anywhere between 8:30-12:45 is a nightmare, good luck! I did get most of the classes that I wanted for the spring semester, except they are all at undesirable times. I can't wait to get priority registration; getting all of my classes will be a breeze! :)
Am enjoying being here CSUF is definitely a major commuter campus. The new dorms only house freshmen and the apartments hold a mixture of freshmen-seniors. There is only room for a little over 2,000 students to live on campus, so it's hard to make friends and find out about social events to attend because students mainly attend class and go straight home afterwards. I'm definitely not getting the college experience because I'm not living on campus.
Am learning a lot I'm currently a first year taking GEs. I took most of these classes in high school so I didn't really learn a whole lot of new information; they were basically the same courses with a few new things incorporated into it. First-time freshmen get priority registration for their first semester so getting classes that you want/need wasn't too difficult.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Cal State Fullerton is great for all kinds of students. It is very well known for their business department and it is great for students who like being involved in student government. There are all kinds of things to do at Cal State Fullerton it is just up to the student to get up and find something they enjoy doing on campus. No matter what major you are or if you are undecided there are programs for those that already know what major they want to be and to those that are undecided there is a program that will help you discover what you like. The career center helps out with that.
Tips for prospective students If you are aiming to attend Cal State Fullerton and know you won't be getting financial help then start saving now. Tuition is most likely going to keep rising. At the same time don't let it hold you back from wanting to attend. There are also scholarship one can apply for. Another tip is that when being college, more time is necessary for studying. That means sacrificing more of your free time to study. Less going out and less fun. It's worth it though when you see the grades you get at the end of the semester. Come in with a responsible mentality and start networking. Get involved and meet new people.
Bang for the buck When I was a freshman yes it was bang for the buck tuition was about $1,500 pers semester and it was great, but now with budget cuts I am struggling to pay for my education. Now tuition is about $3,000 pers semester. Education should not be ridiculously expensive in any institution. Yes the professors are great and the university has alot to offer but the fact that tuiton keeps rising is an issue. It's stressful for those that don't get financial aid. Compared to other cal states though it is one of the least expensive.
Am enjoying being here Cal State Fullerton has a great environment. There are alot of clubs an organizations that a student can get involved in, I though haven't found the right club for me yet. I got in involved in the Social Justice Committee but didn't feel like I was enjoying being there to the fullest even though I did like what they were trying to accomplish. I am looking to get involved in health club/ nursing club soon since I want to get into the nursing program. They have clubs that relate to any field of study which I think is also great. The weather is great if you like warm summers and winters that are not extremely cold. It is a large campus but not large enough where it takes more than fifteen minutes to get to each class.
Am learning a lot Most of the professors I've had at Cal State Fullerton are awesome. They are passionate about what they teach and are there to help you when you need help. Especially during office hours. Most students don't take advantage of office hours and the truth is that they truly help. I love the fact that I have learned so much about different topics and have helped me find out who I am as a person. Courses make you think critically and make you think beyond.

Categories Comments Campus Safety They have escort stations around campus if you do not feel safe walking alone.
Greek Life I don't know much about greek life, some of the girls I know in sororities love it, though.
Clubs and Activities Great variety of clubs, I recommend CRU, Destino, and Epic if you're Christian :D
Bang for the buck Be sure you have a job before you enter college, it will help you greatly.
What to do for fun Go to: Disneyland, Huntington Beach, Knotts, Brea Mall, eat out, ETC. We're in the city, so you won't be bored at all! Check out the college of the arts, they have performances at Claye's Performing Arts Center that do not disappoint.
Food and Dining The dining hall, The Gastronome, is not as great as it seems. On move-in day, they have good food, after that, not so great! Bring food from home as much as possible, weekends at the Gnome are really bad. Everything else on campus is good though, they have Panda Express, Togo's, Round Table Pizza, Green Burrito, Carl's Jr, Juice it Up, Starbucks, etc.
Dorm Life If you choose to live in a residence hall, be sure to check your financial aid! You might think you could afford to pay but turns out you can't. Other than that, it's awesome, the people are chill here, and you inform yourself more on campus events if you dorm. Highly recommend you dorm your freshman year!
Academic Rigor It varies on the professor. Some of the professors are very supportive, which makes learning better. If you have doubts, go to office hours, it helps greatly.
Tips for prospective students Make sure to keep a copy of every document sent!! If you mail something make it certified, they tend to lose a LOT of documents and by proving you sent them in it will save your LIFE! Trust me on this!
In three sentences I can say this school proved me wrong in every aspect, I love being here. The environment is relaxed, lots to do on campus during the week, in between classes check out the different events ASI has. Dorm life here is great, you meet lots of great people here, and move-in week is a lot of fun.

Categories Comments Campus Safety the university is a very safe place, and have yet to witness any serious acts of violence taken place on campus. there are calling stations for security all over campus for any time of the day.
Bang for the buck with every passing semester tuition becomes more and more expensive. in addition, many of the things outside the classroom such as tutoring services and events like campus concerts have been cut back due to budget cuts. i rate csuf's bang for the buck as average as i am aware these types of problems will be frequent regardless of which college a student wishes to attend.
What to do for fun campus committees plan 2-3 events on campus per month that range from singing competitions on stage to barbecues at the plaza. beyond that, there is a brand new gym on the far end of campus accompanied with various sport fields. there is also a spot near the center of campus that has an arcade, big screen televisions, and tables to shoot pool.
Food and Dining there are just under a dozen dining spots on campus, and near any fast food chain you can think of is within walking distance outside of campus. the downside is that that is as high as the quality of food gets. meals are about $5 for a small something and $13 on the high end, so prepare to shell out the cash if outside dining becomes a daily exercise.
Dorm Life i have yet to experience dorm life here, and many lack the experience as well, since cal state university fullerton is well-known to being a commuter school. however, from those that have spent some dorm time on campus, i have heard that life has been pleasant and relatively easy-going. most of the comforts of home are reasonably available or within walking distance.
Academic Rigor classes have a broad range in difficulty, but nearly all the professors are kind, understanding, and above all else, willing to help. occasionally the textbooks seem somewhat unrelated to the information students are evaluated upon, but most of the time the answers are in the book. studying is essential for all classes, and students should adjust their schedules accordingly so that they have the time to be prepared and well informed.
Tips for prospective students register for classes early. classes, especially the lower division units necessary to advance, fill fast. while on break, check via your student portal for when your assigned registration starts so you can plan ahead and nab the classes you need.
In three sentences cal state university fullerton is a large commuter school that features an exceptionally successful business program. the school has just about any kind of facility available to students, often free of charge, for studying, recreational activities, etc. overall csuf is a great university to attend.

What to do for fun the tsu is a place where students can get together with other students to study, catch up, or to just hang out! there are activities such as bowling and billiards. the tsu also gives discounts to places such as disneyland, magic mountain, and on movie tickets. there is also the student recreation center where one can go for a swim, work out, or have fun.
Food and Dining there's different variety of food and dining. there is an indoor food court, a salad area outside, express shops, and there is even a starbucks inside one of the academic halls! there is also a carls' jr.
Academic Rigor the professors do a great job and they are willing to help out in any way they can.
Tips for prospective students getting good grades is very important for any student who wants to apply to a four-year university. if your sat scores are average, you will still have a chance at being admitted!
In three sentences i am enjoying my time at csu fullerton, i would recommend those to apply who live near the campus. the professors not only do an excellent job at their job, but they are also willing to help their students in any way they can. as i got to know my way around the school i started feeling comfortable and i eventually met new people.

Food and Dining they set up a new cafeteria on the campus called the gastronome. it's incredible; it's like a buffet. i enjoy the food that they have, and if you want something, you can request it on their napkin talk. they also have a little store next to it called late night; if it's late and the gastronome is closed, you can get food here either with money or points.

Categories Comments What to do for fun cool clubs and fun people to be around. school is big on sports so watching games is a great way to kill time. lots of things to do, you just gotta look.
Food and Dining great selection of food on campus, feels like i'm at the mall's food court. the dining hall for those that live on campus is a great deal! all you can eat, buffet style for only 7 dollars, what a steal! plenty of great food options a mere block away if none of the places on campus satisfy your tastes.
Dorm Life no experience.
Academic Rigor grading is one of the toughest in the cal state system, but most of the classes are worth the work. teachers are just like any others at different schools, some are lazy, but some will try their best to help you learn and succeed.
Tips for prospective students stay focused and open minded. there are a few bumps along the way at this school, but you can overcome it. it's a good school if you're able to navigate and read up on how things are run. be prepared for challenges, but also be prepared for success.

Categories Comments Campus Safety I feel safe on campus. I believe they provide great service when needed, I saw the campus safety handle a situation in the TSU accordingly. They were able to give the student medical attention quick, and handle the situation.
Greek Life Greek life is week, they are not really popular. I experienced Greek Week and it was disappointing. I mainly pay attention to classes than Fraternities or Sororities.
Bang for the buck Tuition was raised to 3k per semester. I do not see why we need to pay more when there are less teachers and more students crammed in the classes. They should budget wages of the staff members to compensate for the deficits of the school. This way more student would be able to afford going to school here.
What to do for fun The college provides various events on campus. You have a bowling alley in the TSU. Bands are able to perform on campus.
Food and Dining I wish there was a McDonald's or a Subway on campus. But other than that, the food and dinning is good. They have a good variety for students.
Dorm Life I do not live on campus, but there are dorms available.
Academic Rigor The teachers expect you to be responsible for your assignments. Your effort shows in the work you turn in. The work you do here helps you prepare for your career.
Tips for prospective students Have ambition for your career. This school is a great stepping stone towards a Graduate school. Keep in touch with your teachers if you need help with the class assignments.
In three sentences Has a great program for Psych majors. My experience with the teachers is great. Student here are well rounded.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Safety is a huge issue here. There is 24/7 police presence, emergency poles that if you press the emergency button, a board tells campus police exactly where you are and they rush to your aid. The police also respond if you have a health emergency. The campus feels very safe but they do have signs posted warning that some people will steal your things if you leave them unattended so don't. I have never had an issue with safety but I also follow safety procedures such as never walking to my car alone at night. You can also call for an escort when ever you feel uncomfortable.
Great for these types of students There is such an assortment of students here that anyone can come here and find a place. You have to be a self motivated type to succeed and not be afraid to ask for help.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus In between the Humanities building and University Hall is a quaint little place called the Java Hut. It is a privately owned coffee hut with the most amazing fresh coffee on campus. If you bring your own cup, the owner will let you have a refill for only 75 cents. They also offer peanut butter cookies with a Reese's Piece in the center. You have to try it for yourself.
What to do for fun CSUF has a state of the art gym. Membership is included in your student fees. Yes, included with your fees. It is two story and has a heated pool. The most popular exercise machines and weights await you. Under the food court is a bowling alley and billiards room which sells pizza and beer. It is a very popular spot. Some people actually go there and attempt to study. The campus offers some amazing plays and hosts artistic viewings on a regular basis. They even offer a great discount on tickets to an Angel game.
Food and Dining The dining area is actually too small for the number of students and faculty at the campus. Lines are usually long when I walk through in the afternoon and coffee in the morning is also quite a wait. There are restaurant food trucks that have set locations in the afternoons. They offer a variety of food not found in the food court. Carl's Jr. is the only fast food company on campus. They offer a nice outdoor patio area that is wifi accessible for their patrons. There is one building that offers a coffee shop that also serves as a deli. Their sandwiches and soup are amazing. If you have enough time between classes, there are several eateries in walking distance of the off campus dorms. Panera Bread is my favorite.
Dorm Life I actually live at home. I am married with a family. I was so busy having and raising children, I never had the time to attend college when I was younger. I have seen the dorms and they are very nice. I also know from class mates who live in the dorms that the majority of the students are really here to learn and prepare for their future. Of course if you look in the right places, you can always find a party.
Academic Rigor Academic rigor can be intense. It is important to keep up with the syllabus and read ahead if possible. An example of the academic rigor for me is this, I have an interdisciplinary paper to write, a 10-20 page essay on the interpretation of art, an observation to do with children doing art, two exams, and a lesson plan while on Spring break. This is not uncommon at university level. Stay caught up, do the readings, and review every day. You will be fine.
Tips for prospective students The standards overall are high because CSUF has a reputation of graduating students who are high achievers. In order to do your best, find a group on campus that can give you the academic and emotional support. There are so many to choose from. The Multicultural Center is a great one. It is a safe haven for every nationality and gender on campus. Another great thing to do is to create or join a study group from your discipline. Taking classes as a group will provide you with extra notes, a study group, exam help, and even some friends to hang out with when you are blessed with free time. Ask questions, and go to the writing center to have your papers edited. It really helps when you are tired and sleepy from study. A fresh look at your work will catch errors that you, under the circumstances, might not.
In three sentences I am fully convinced that if you have the opportunity to attend CSUF, you will have the opportunity to take on the challenge of a rigorous academic standard. The dining has so many options that one could eat at a different place for two or three weeks. The school encourages students to take down time from studying and enjoy life; they provide some entertainment but also encourage students to see a play or walk through a museum form time to time.

Categories Comments Campus Safety We have an on-campus police station with officers. Also, there are large blue poles set up for emergencies. They are also used for those that just want to be escorted to their car at night.
Clubs and Activities There are over 50 clubs on campus that are perfect for anyone who wants to get involved and meet new people.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus When one of the art professors discovered that a broken statue of David was going to be thrown out after an earthquake he made sure that we got a hold of it. On the ECS lawn you will find pieces of David displayed just as it fell to remind us of nature's power. Tradition says that those who wish for a good grade on a test can rub his butt cheek for luck.
What to do for fun CSUF has a plethora of events going on-whether through societies or colleges, there is always something happening. You can bowl underground or check out the graphic design office. You can get involved and volunteer with ASI or honor societies. There are also sporting events and plays/musicals to attend with friends.
Food and Dining The TSU has a great variety of food. However, there are food places around campus and off campus that are easily accessible.
Academic Rigor Depending on your major, classes are generally manageable. However, your grade depends on how much work you put in.
Tips for prospective students Incoming freshman should apply for Freshman Programs, which includes a one semester class helps transition from high school to college life. The teachers and mentors also give you tips and answer any questions you may have. Also, apply for the honors program or finish in 4. Both programs give you priority registration for classes each semester.
In three sentences CSUF is a nice, open campus situated in Fullerton. It is close to the freeway and to restaurants downtown. When not studying, there are many opportunities to get involved and hang out with friends.

Categories Comments What to do for fun Eat! And of course shop at the mall, go bowling in the TSU, head out to the beach or Disneyland. Everything is really close.
Food and Dining There are lots of great places to eat on and around campus. The downtown Fullerton and Brea areas are filled with cool places. There are lots of healthy places on or near campus, too.
Academic Rigor Some classes seem like they'll be easy, but turn out to be difficult, and vice-versa. It's easy at any school to be distracted and lose focus, but if you keep working hard and manage your time well it won't be too hard.
Tips for prospective students Remember that CSUF was rated one of the toughest grade-givers in the United States. You'll know you're getting the GPA you deserve, which I find really encouraging. I know my work will always, if not usually, be awarded the grade it deserves. Don't come for an easy A, come for a good education.
In three sentences Cal State Fullerton has so far been a rewarding experience. I have yet to endure a difficult or unsuitable professor. Socially, it can be difficult to meet new people since it's a commuter school but everyone is really nice, so that helps!

Categories Comments Campus Safety Cal State Fullerton is highly patroled by police officers that have a station on campus. Also, every mile there is a blue pole with a button that pages the police when you are in trouble and they will be their in less than a minute. Also, campus police is able to patrol a mile outside of campus so if you are ever in trouble and call 911, they will be there. I have been here for four years and never once came across a problem.
Greek Life Cal State Fullerton also has a great greak life that is still growing. We have several different sororities and fraternities surrounding campus that all have their own houses. This offers a great opportunity for students to get involved and meet new people while also serving their community. Each sorority and fraternity is part of a community service project called a philanthropy, so you can choose the one that fits you best. The Greek life also offers many different options to get involved and hold leadership positions. Also, all sororities and fraternities come together once a year to hold an annual Greek Week where they work to raise money for the school's philanthropy, Camp Titan. Every year these organizations have raise over $20,000 to send underpriviledged children in the area to big bear for a week to experience camp.
Clubs and Activities There are clubs offered on campus for every interest possible. We have the engineering club, snowboarding club, hiking club, soccer club, teaching clubs, computer science, business, Associated Students, and so much more. Each of these clubs has their own set of activities but they all come together twice a year to run a club fair that give other students the opportunity to join.
Bang for the buck With student fees continually rising I must say I am so happy I chose Cal State Fullerton to receive my bachelors degree. They offered me everything I needed to get started with my career at an affordable price. I got such a great education that most Universities have to pay tripple for. If this school has the program you need for your career, I highly reccommend attending.
What to do for fun Cal State Fullerton does a great job at offering students many things to do for their low budget. We have an underground bowling alley, arcade, television, video games, air hockey, pool tables, and a pizza pub. Our Associated Students Inc. also puts on free movie thursdays, kareoke days, and they bring a band to campus every week. Also, we have other events such as sports, tailgates, and homecoming week. There is always so much to participate in that I didn't even have time to get to it all. Also, once a year we hold a spring concert where they bring a popular band over and offer students a free show.
Food and Dining Cal State Fullerton offers a wide choice of food and dining options. We have the buffet style at the dorm dining hall, starbucks, carls junior, chinese, italian, pizza, Togos, Juice it up, Cafes, and easy to go options when you are in a rush to get to class. After being there all four years I did begin to grow tired but I know they have plans to upgrade the dining.
Dorm Life I actually did not live in the dorms beccause our new dorm complex opened up my senior year but I have been inside and it is amazing. I wish it would have been there when I was a freshman. I've heard great reviews about the new dorm and dining hall but we also have apartment style dorms which offer kitchens, living rooms, and multiple bedrooms.
Academic Rigor I have met some of the most outstanding professors at Cal State Fullerton that made class challenging but very exciting to learn. They taught me many skills and life lessons that I can carry on through my career. I also had professors that were very caring and always willing to go out of their way to make sure you got the grade you deserved, even in times of trouble.
Tips for prospective students I would say make the best out of your college experience by living on campus and getting involved in any way you can. CSUF does a great job at trying to get students involved and make them feel like they are at home.
In three sentences I would rate this school a nine because it has so much to offer. It is still continuing to grow which is outstanding but I couldn't have been happier with my college choice. I have been here for four years and plan on coming back to get a credential and masters degree.

Categories Comments What to do for fun Get a disneyland pass if you are going to live on campus it is definitely worth it. Also getting involved on campus is always a good idea.
Food and Dining The gastronome (dining hall) is in the middle of all the dorms. The food is pretty good because their are a lot of options. I love it as long as you give yourself variety you'll love it too.
Dorm Life The Residence halls are good for making friends but it is hard to stay focused and on track. The apartment style dorms are nice because you have your own kitchen and a lot more privacy but it is not as easy to make friends.
Academic Rigor Most of my classes have been difficult. Since many professors have PH-D's they expect a lot from all their students.
Tips for prospective students Only take 12 units your first semester, because it takes time to get adjusted to way the classes are run. If you live on campus make sure to bring your car!
In three sentences CSUF is a commuter school. CSUF offers many classes so you always get the schedule you want. CSUF is fun if you make it fun.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Overall, I feel safe on this campus. We have campus police that patrols the campus. I can walk around at 3 o'clock in the morning and still feel safe.
Greek Life There is a Greek life here on campus, but it is not what you see on television. Its more tamed than what you see on television
Clubs and Activities Because this is a commuter school, the clubs and the sororities and fraternities somewhat contribute to school spirit. Other clubs like culture clubs hardly contribute school spirit, but joining one of these does improve the quality of your college experience being that you make a lot of friends through them. Be involved, its better than coming to class and just leaving.
Great for these types of students People who love the beach or kids who are into that hipster or indie scene. Cal State Fullerton is known for the college of business and for their performing arts program. The college of science and math are not good however.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus We have a broken Statue of David that broke into pieces during an Earthquake. The quake left Davids butt exposed. Because of this, a tradition developed that if you rub his butt, you will have good luck for your next exam.
Bang for the buck Take advantage of the student health center and the student rec center. I spend so much time in the student rec center. Of all the things on campus, I am grateful for these two facilities. You're paying for them anyways, so why not?
What to do for fun There are mainly lots of places to eat around campus. And there are many parties on frat row. Frat row is where are the fraternity houses are located.
Food and Dining We recently got a new cafeteria that caters to the general student body and the students that live in the dorms. A lot of students seem to like it. There is also a food court that is decent.
Dorm Life I do not live in a dorm, however, I live off campus and it is really a fun experience.
Academic Rigor Depending on your major, the intensity of the course will be different. Science and math being more rigorous. There are some general course that are harder than others, but overall, the general courses are easy.
Tips for prospective students You hear it a lot, but get good grades. There are going to be times when you feel like the courses you take are pointless, and some of them are. Unfortunately, success is often times measured by grade point average and if you are thinking about moving onto higher education or trying to get into a program I.E the nursing program, then this is a very important aspect.
In three sentences This university is a commuter school. It is currently undergoing projects in creating opportunities to increase more college life on campus by producing more facilities for students. The overall mood and setting of the campus is very calm and laid back.

Categories Comments Bang for the buck It is definitely a good bang for your buck, I am amazed how far my dollars are stretched to provide the wonderful educational value I receive as well the recreation center that provides a place to workout, clubs, free services, wonderful, I am on campus so often I feel I live there permanently.
What to do for fun There is so many activities to do for fun I almost don't which one to do first. On any given day of the week, there is fun happening on campus whether it is the bowling alley, video games or fun events put on by ASI.
Food and Dining The food is extraordinary, I love eating at the school because not only I know the food is made right in front of my eyes, I know that I can a good meal in between my busy schedule. They have plenty of space for eating alone as well as with your friends.
Dorm Life It is a wonderful experience because you the positive aspect of being near your classes, within walking distance and the comfort of living with your friends as well as making new friendships that will last a lifetime.
Academic Rigor I quite enjoy the classes offered, they are quite challenging without being difficult, they interesting, informative and teachers are very friendly and will help students along the way. I always look forward to attending class because the subjects taught are great.
Tips for prospective students I would recommend students to make use of the various services offered throughout the campus, such as the career center to help you along the way with your career decision and to make sure you stay on track with your goals.
In three sentences Is a great school that provides a variety of programs, activities, sports and classes. Not only does the school emphasize good grades and working hard but it also provides a lot of fun opportunities to de-stress during our current busy schedules.

Categories Comments Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Pat the Fallen David's bottom for good luck during finals.
Bang for the buck When those promotions go on at the Titan Walk, don't pass them up!
What to do for fun The Titan Student Union (TSU) is a well rounded activity center. Upstairs is the cafeteria, downstairs has the following: bowling, Billiards, Xbox for rental, a pub, and lounge area.s
Food and Dining Although CSUF has a few main stream fast food restaurants such as Panda Express, Juice it Up, Togo's, etc... the prices aren't that great. A filling meal will cost around 7-8 bucks. So I recommend bringing a lunch instead of purchasing from the TSU.
Academic Rigor As an art student the academic rigor truly depends on the efforts of each individual. But the push from professors is a bit soft for my liking.
Tips for prospective students Be sure to take each class seriously and follow up with your academic adviser early on.
In three sentences CSUF provides excellent academic advising whether it may be for GE or your chosen major.

Tips for prospective students Pick your classes at least a 2-3 weeks before you register and register on time. Especially for freshman, the classes fill up fast and they don't always create a new class even if there are a lot of people who need the class, so be on top of your game.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Nothing really goes on on campus as it is a commuter school. School gets crazy packed around 1 and 2 and is mostly empty in other times.
What to do for fun Nothing at all if you are stuck on campus without a car. With a car, there's a mall, a theater, restaurants and etc available for you.
Food and Dining Before Gastronome (a school cafeteria near the dorms) was built, the food choice on campus was just horrible especially when I didn't bring any food and didn't have a car (I currently get rides from my parents and am saving up money to buy a car). But with a car, you get a lot more variety. Drive out a minute or two and there is a plaza with bunch of fast-food chains and restaurants. Most of these restaurants try to offer competitive pricing, so don't expect the top quality dining. However, they are good enough. Now back to gastronome, they offer freshly cooked burger, grilled cheese and etc, and offers buffet style salad bar and dessert section. it's pretty good, but after a while the food choices get tiring.
Dorm Life I commute so I don't know, but my friends seem to be satisfied.
Academic Rigor Not at all difficult if you're from academically competitive high schools and took AP/IB courses. I'm going onto my third year and so far studying the lecture notes alone was good enough to get an A in most of my classes.
Tips for prospective students Not very rigorous academically. Use the excess time to get involved.
In three sentences Not so inviting at first and it is very possible for you to spend your years without speaking to anyone. Make sure to be a little brave and talk to people. Connect!

Categories Comments Campus Safety There is a police station on campus so students are able to feel safe. There are also emergency buttons that directs it to a campus police officer to come to your location and assist you.
Greek Life For those interested in the Greek Life, there are numerous social fraternities and sororities that work towards improving the self of a person and participating in community service and volunteer work.
Clubs and Activities There are many clubs and activities that is bound to interest any student. It's up to the student to get engaged in the clubs because there are plenty to choose from.
Great for these types of students CSUF is well-known for their business programs, so for those interested in business-related careers should definitely consider this school.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus A popular tradition on campus is before taking an exam, to gain luck, students are found to rub the butt of a broken statue of David.
Bang for the buck The only complaint with prices at CSUF is the same with other colleges because the tuition of going to school keeps increasing, although students are unable to have a say in it.
What to do for fun On the CSUF campus, I enjoyed most of my time at the Titan Student Union Underground where pool tables, a bowling area, air hockey, gaming center, and table tennis are available for the student's use.
Food and Dining CSUF offers choices of Togo's, Carl's Jr., Round Table Pizza, Panda Express, Starbucks and more. A popular request I hear amongst students is an addition of Mexican food, such as Taco Bell.
Dorm Life They had renovated the dorms a year ago, so there is more space availability for those that seek on-campus living. They attempt to have students engage in activities with their neighbors.
Academic Rigor The courses that I took were challenging for myself, making me think critically and learn new concepts. Tests were a good practice to see if we understood the lectures well enough to solve similar problems and situations.
Tips for prospective students A tip that I would share is to get involved on campus and interact with your peers within classes. Another tip would be to plan your courses accordingly to your major and your checklist for graduation.
In three sentences CSUF is a wonderful university that offers a diversity of possible career paths. Many of the courses had professors that were knowledgeable of their subject although improvements in English accents would allow students to further grasp the teachings. Being a major commuter campus, CSUF tries hard to encourage students to partake in extracurricular activities in enhance their college experience with their peers.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Campus Safety is important. The school has blue polls that directly connect you to the police in case you need help they are all over the school. A police department is situated right on campus.
Clubs and Activities There are many clubs and activities on campus. You can find the one that suits you best. The club I usually am part of is the Titan Tusk Force. One can make friends while helping with activities. This club is similar to what in high school is known as ASB. TTF is in charge of various activities that go on in school such as tailgates and sports events.
Great for these types of students If you are an active student, the school offers gym access. It is a good place to work out and attend classes such as salsa classes or even yoga. If you enjoy nature, the Fullerton Arboretum is a beautiful place to visit. Located next to the dorms, one can go and enjoy nature.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Undie runs are typical after finals. Students all gather after finals and run around campus in their undies to celebrate the end of an academic semester
Bang for the buck Things can get expensive especially for us college students. I think food is the main thing that gets expensive. If living on campus, making your own meals is better. Getting rented textbooks is a way of saving money. You can find new books you can rent.
What to do for fun Campus is situated near many stores. One can always head over to Brea mall for some shopping. Downtown Fullerton is one of the famous fun things to do (night life usually 21+).
Food and Dining The food can be better in my perspective. Food places vary from Carls Jr to Togo's and Panda Express. A food center recently opened for all students. Students can enjoy a buffet-style food center.
Dorm Life I have never lived on campus but I have friends who have. They say it is a great way to be more involved in school. Since this is a commuter school, those who live in the dorms have more chances of being more involved. New dorms opened in 2011-2012 term.
Academic Rigor Prepares students through offering challenging courses.
Tips for prospective students Set up a study schedule. Always keep up with your assignments. Stay on top of things. If you need help, go to tutoring or Professor's office hours. Enjoy colleg.
In three sentences Friendly environment for students. Staff is ready to help when you need it. A commuter school, but one can always find ways to get involved.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Our campus is very safe! We have a campus police that reaches about 1 mile radius outside of our campus. There are blue poles spread across campus that students can press and have a community service officer meet with you and walk you to anywhere you need to be, at any hour of the day.
Greek Life Not as great as it should be, but it is very fun! You get out what you put in.
Clubs and Activities There are plenty of different organizations to join and stay involved on campus,
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus We have a broken statue of David by Michelangelo spread across a grass hill on our campus. We purchased it from another campus and due to an earthquake, the statue broke and landed in various spots and the school decided to keep it the way it was.
Bang for the buck A little too over priced for the service they offer. Seems like they raise tuition so often and it doesn't show where they are sending our money.
What to do for fun Join a Greek organization. I joined a sorority and it helped me network with other students and do extracurricular activities on the side as community service.
Food and Dining While I lived on this campus, there weren't many options to chose from. Now, they have a meal plan set for the dorm residents and other students who wish to pay for the cafeteria.
Dorm Life Loved living in the dorms my first year of college. You met so many people and you can have the choice of having your own room.
Academic Rigor Professors should push the students a bit harder to accomplish their goals and to let their students know they care that they are making their way to graduation.
Tips for prospective students Read all assigned book readings and do all homework assignments before the due date do give the professor time to proof read before submitting the hard copy.
In three sentences One of the least diverse college campuses. Most GE professors don't know the subject or don't care to teach it well. Nice, clean campus

Categories Comments What to do for fun If I get free time between classes I would either go to the library to go on the computers, or I would go to the TSU underground area to relax. If I have free time and feel like working out, I sometimes go to the rec. center.
Food and Dining There are plenty of food places on/ near campus to eat from. Many of these places are well-known restaurants (i.e. Carl's Jr. and Round Table Pizza).
Dorm Life I do not live in the CSUF dorms, so it does not apply. However, new dorms were opened recently and even more dorms will be opening in the upcoming year sometime.
Academic Rigor Some classes are harder than others, but overall the workload for a full-time student can be a challenge.
Tips for prospective students Know your major before enrolling in a 4-year university. Its ok to try out different/ new/ interesting classes, but knowing where you want to go in life is a great thing to start out with.

Categories Comments What to do for fun There are always sports games on campus and at near by campuses to attend. We are also centrally located between the mountains and the beach, so you can actually go from surfing to snowboarding all in one day. We also have a downtown to our city, were everyone over gathers on the weekends.
Food and Dining We don't have much dining on campus, but all around campus are plenty of places to grab a bite. They are all in walking distance and include some unknown, non-fast food places, and serve some of the best food near by. If you like coffee, there are plenty on and off campus!
Dorm Life We have just expanded our dorms, so everything is brand new! They look amazing inside and out. They are mostly freshman and sophomore, so i never dormed here, but i have friends who do dorm here and they say it is quite fun during the week. They do admit it is almost silent on the weekends!
Academic Rigor Some of the classes and professors are very tough. Even lower division is intense. Practice your writing skills, since almost every class requires writing. And don't forget to read, it is very important.
Tips for prospective students Buy your books online from Amazon and re-sell them when your finished. Bring a frisbee, so when ever you have some down time with friends don't just go home, hang out! We are about 15-20 minutes away from the beach and mountains, plenty of get always for the weekend.

Food and Dining There are plenty of choices on campus to find what you like.
Dorm Life I have no experience with the dorms. The three star rating I gave is more of a neutral standpoint than an average level rating.
Academic Rigor The professors do not play games so don't expect them to sympathize with any excuses or faulty reasons for not fulfilling your academic responsibility in the classroom.
Tips for prospective students In the Dean's Office you'll find the best and most amazing program on campus: Student Leadership Institute. Bang for the buck Cal State Fullerton is not that expensive compared to other schools, although tuition keeps rising. The fees students pay are reasonable because it includes paying for on campus health services, the new gym on campus, and campus safety.
What to do for fun There are many things to do for fun at Cal State Fullerton. Some of these include going to sport events, which are free for students, and joining a club. Fullerton provides many opportunities for students to join clubs, and there are many to choose from.

Great for these types of students Great for commuter students, friends all live nearby and meeting up outside of class is easy. Also good for people who love a big crowd, this campus is huge and filled to the brim with people.
Bang for the buck In the two semesters I have attended they have raised the fees three times. I realize there is a budget crisis, but you are taking money from those who really don't have it.
What to do for fun Go to the Titan Student Center! they have a round table pizza, bowling alley and pool. Grab a drink at the bar and watch live music too.
Food and Dining They could use more variety in the school food court. It is almost impossible to leave campus to eat somewhere nearby due to parking.
Academic Rigor Some teachers are overly harsh graders, but you are paying for an education, not just for the printed paper called a degree.
Tips for prospective students Be persistant with getting school paper work filled out, if something is taking a long time or there is a mistake catch it right away. They may try to send you to different people to fix the problem creating a wild goose chase, but all I can encourage you to do is to keep at it.
In three sentences It is a very large campus, and most people do not know where to direct you when it comes to paperwork, the website saying one thing, the office workers another. Categories Comments Campus Safety I always feel safe when I'm on campus. They offer escort services for students who on campus late at night to their cars or dorm. If a student calls 911 from any campus phone, campus police will be the ones on their way to see the situation. Amazing resource!
Greek Life I was never apart of the Greek community, but I have never heard any complaints other than it can be pretty pricey for students. However, I've heard they offer many resources and connections for different careers.
Clubs and Activities There are over 300 clubs on campus. Each offer something different to a students needs and wants. There was even a napping club on campus for daily naps. Also, many of these clubs are associations where they are apart of a national organization to prepare students for the working world.
Great for these types of students CSUF is great for any types of students. There is great diversity on campus which is a plus for students wanting to relate to one another. The campus offers a variety of student groups that match their needs and wants.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus At the end of every semester, many students participate in the Undie Run to let out all of their stress from the semester. It is crazy and funny to see students run in their underwear around campus. Of course it is not profanity because they still wear shirts, but an unusual tradition that takes place every year, twice a year. Also, we have a broken statue of David that has never been replaced and now just a normal thing on campus. Also during finals week, the TSU offers 'All Night Study' where the student union is open 24 hours for 2 weeks straight and offer snacks and resources for their upcoming finals.
Bang for the buck Even with the tuition increases, the activities that are offered at CSUF are definitely a bang for your buck. There is always something new happening every day to give students time to relax with all the studying. Also, the professors take pride in making sure you learn the material. They take time out of their schedules to meet your needs which is an extra plus for busy students. It is a good resource and definitely worth the money.
What to do for fun In the student union (TSU) there is an arcade, huge flat screen TV, bowling alley and ping pong tables. Students will never get bored with this selection of fun things to do. Also, there are always activities such as movie nights and free bowling days to connect with other students and have fun.
Food and Dining There are limited options at CSUF, but the food in the dining hall is amazing. It is even open to students who are not living in the dorms! It is buffet style and for every holiday it is a different cuisine. For example, for cinco de mayo, they offered Mexican style food. Even the food court in the student union offers a good selection of healthy choices and panda express.
Dorm Life I never had the opportunity to dorm due to financial reasons, but I've seen the dorms and, Wow! They are wonderful and always have activities and ways to meet other students.
Academic Rigor Articles have shown Cal State Fullerton to be one of the hardest grading Cal State campuses. Classes are hard, but it is not impossible to receive that 'A'. Hard work is going to be needed, but if you were accepted then it should not be impossible to keep up.
Tips for prospective students Cal State Fullerton is known to be one of the hardest Cal States, but it is manageable. You will never find yourself alone and others will have the same concern as you. Get involved! Even working on campus is a great way to meet others outside your major and making new friends. It is a great campus. Just always make sure to ask questions, do not ever feel that your question is dumb. Administrators are always welcoming.
In three sentences Cal State Fullerton is considered to be a smaller Cal State campus with thousands of students. Great resources for students on a low budget such as discounts for outside recreational activities. Also, amazing advising offices, your answer will always get answered.

Categories Comments Bang for the buck Even with the 9% tuition increase, I still think I'm getting my back for the buck at CSUF.
What to do for fun During your break or extra hour in between class, I recommend the CSUF Recreational center. The 'Rec' Center offers various classes such as Yoga, Rock climbing, Salsa Dancing, etc. Try to squeeze a workout into your busy academic life!
Food and Dining CSUF's food court offers various vendors such as Round Table Pizza, Panda Express, and To-Go's sandwiches. All the food is reasonably priced.
Academic Rigor As a Human Services major, the academic rigor was not very difficult. My first two years at CSUF consisted of taking several general education courses. Classes were not difficult. I think a huge help to my academic success so far is the help that I receive from my amazing professors. Professors at CSUF make the effort in scheduling office hours to help you and guide you in unimaginable ways. If you ever need help with exams, homework, and anything in general, feel free to contact your professor outside of class. They will be a huge help to your academic success and will be great references for future resumes/recommendations.
Tips for prospective students I have several tips for prospective students attending CSUF in the upcoming fall or spring. I suggest college Freshmen join the program Finish in Four before they attend school in Fall. By being part of this program, students are able to have priority in choosing classes and professors during registration. Another tip is to be active on campus! I know that many students at CSUF commute to school and back home. Instead, try joining several clubs on campus such as ASI, Circle K, Chinese Student Association, etc. CSUF will provide you with many opportunities during the upcoming school year!
In three sentences Although CSUF tends to be a commuter school, the campus offers strong academic programs to current and upcoming students. The school is constantly hosting various programs on campus such as health fairs, job fairs, etc. CSUF does an outstanding job at providing students with an excellent education with a reasonable tuition. Go Titans!

Categories Comments Campus Safety I believe the campus safety to be pretty good. I take at least one night class a semester and haven't felt unsafe walking a few blocks to my car between 9:30 and 10:00 at night.
What to do for fun I am a commuter student so I don't participate in the campus activities much, but I know they show fairly recent movies at least once a week the Titan Student Union and that they have a bowling alley and other activities. They also have great finals week activities...to make those all-nighters more bareable.
Food and Dining I do like their dining options, I am mainly in the business building which has a Starbucks and then a Carl's Jr. just a short walk away. There is also a Juice It Up! trailer within a reasonable distance of the business building.
Dorm Life I did not live in the dorms, so I can tell you nothing about them.
Academic Rigor The academic rigor is at a good level, the graduate courses (like they should be) are more difficult than the undergraduate courses.
Tips for prospective students If your undergraduate degree is accounting, but is over 5 years old and you don't have your CPA be prepared to take all the required undergraduate accounting courses.
In three sentences I am working on my masters in accounting and I think the alumni network is very helpful.

Dorm Life The school has a great dorm life on campus. The dorms are not too far away from the campus (approximately 5-10 minute walking distance). The dorm life is enjoyable, but at the same time is a perfect place to study.
Academic Rigor California State University is a very academically rigorous school. A student needs to spend many hours a day studying and completing coursework. Academically, a student needs to earn their own grade.
Tips for prospective students Prospective students should be aware that classes may be difficult to get into; however, persistance is necessary to achieve your goals. Check out the student recreation center because it is new and improved with an outdoor pool and many up-to-date equipment. Stay focused and have fun learning.
In three sentences California State University Fullerton is an excellent school for people acquiring degrees in many different majors. The school has a beautiful campus. I would highly recommend this school for students ready to work hard and enjoy the college life.

What to do for fun Newport Beach & Huntington Beach are only 20/30 minutes away from campus. Downtown Fullerton is full of bars for those over 21.
Food and Dining To be fair, I've lived here my whole life so I'm getting tired of the food. It's great food though. Downtown Fullerton has many fun restaurants. Lots of amazing mexican food and sushi around campus.
Academic Rigor Every class you have to work for your grade. Always study, talk to your professors, and find a study buddy.

Categories Comments Campus Safety There's a police department right on the edge of campus, so if a student is in trouble, the campus police can get there in good time.
What to do for fun There are a lot of different things to do on and off campus. The Titan Student Union shows movies once a week for free, and it's a cool way to hang out with new people, and to see fairly new movies for free. There are a lot of clubs and events that happen, and a good amount of concerts on campus.
Food and Dining The food on campus is really well prepared and good. There are a lot of options if you don't like a certain food, and the prices are good.
Dorm Life Dorming on campus is an awesome first year experience. Everything is really close by, and everyone is really friendly. It's very easy to make new friends and to connect with different people either living on your floor or in your building, or even from different buildings.
Academic Rigor All professors are different, but from what I've seen the workloads from different classes aren't that bad. It's about two hours of homework a night, and maybe more depending on how many classes you're taking. It's very easy to fall behind, and it's somewhat difficult to catch up.
Tips for prospective students College is not as scary as all of your high school teachers say it's going to be. Everyone's experience is different, but it's up to you to make it a good one. Making new friends can help you with the home sickness, and can also make your experience fantastic.
In three sentences CSU Fullerton has a very friendly atmosphere, and the professors are amazing. They all care a lot about their students, and care about the subject they're teaching. There's always something going on on campus, and it's very easy to get involved!

Academic Rigor Teachers are very friendly and are always there to help. They have their own time and office where one can go for help if necessary.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Check out the broken statue of David! We have this thing where you rub his right butt cheek three times and slap it for good luck.
Bang for the buck Textbooks are generally cheaper at the student book store. Compared to other universities, our school has a very diverse set of programs and is cheaper than others.
What to do for fun Go work out at the REC building or the Titan Underground for games and stuff. Make sure to check out the clubs on campus as that is the easiest way to make friends.
Food and Dining Cafeteria is pretty decent, have several convenience stores on campus, lots of coffee shops here and there, and is close to lots of food places.
Dorm Life Haven't tried it, but we just got a brand new, state of the art (energy-wise) dorm building.
Academic Rigor Like any school, there are tough professors, easy professors, and in-betweens. However, some professors are different on exams than what they appear to be in lectures, so make sure you prepare for everything no matter what.
Tips for prospective students Make sure you check out the career center for any part-time jobs, internships, or any other potential career opportunities! You will regret it if you don't!

Categories Comments What to do for fun There is an amazing recreational center on campus with rock climbing, spin classes, kickboxing, basketball courts, indoor track, pool, and extra rooms for the gym and available fitness classes. If working out isn't your thing, there is another building with a bowling alley, arcade games, pool hall, and a pub! There are many resturants and fun shops downtown as well and they aren't far away from the campus at all!
Food and Dining I have yet to eat at CSUF, but the food looks great from what I have seen on my campus tours. From brief campus walks, I have seen a Carls Jr., pub, and coffee shops. I can only imagine what there is on the inside if I really tried to look for food!
Dorm Life I will not be experiencing the dorm life since I will be commuting to CSUF from San Clemente, but I will definitely get a feel for what it is like living in the dorms once I make new friends and visit their dorms! Categories Comments Campus Safety CSU Fullerton is one of the safest campuses in California. We have a police station on campus which holds actual Fullerton police officers, not just security guards. We have safety 9-1-1 blue poles all over the campus that connect directly to the police station. No matter where you are on campus there is always at least one within sight. There is a volunteer escort system if you have a night class and feel more comfortable being escorted to your car. It's an extremely safe campus at all times of day or night.
Greek Life We have great Greek Life. The Greek organizations aren't like you see in movies and on TV with hazing and snooty guys and girls. Everyone is motivated by the cause of the organization and is extremely family oriented. It's a great way to be social and participate in fun activities and help others in the community.
Clubs and Activities We have tons of clubs and activities! Like I said, our Greek life is excellent and there is a wide variety of different clubs on campus. Some are religious, ethic specific, some are just for fun hobbies, others are academic. You can find almost every kind of club here.
Great for these types of students If you're interested in theater, we have incredible theater, music, and dance departments. Even if you just enjoy watching or listening to these kinds of shows there are two dance showcases a year and 6 theater shows, two musicals a year, an opera, and two music concerts. They're actually talented too.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus My favorite place on campus is the arboretum and not a lot of students go there. It's next to the dorms and there are a lot of hidden spots to sit and read, or study, or just be away from the busy and hectic campus life.
Bang for the buck Considering the tuition fees and all that our school has to offer I think students get a lot for the money they pay. We have a state of the art gym with two pools that's less than ten years old. We have a great student union and a beautiful arboretum. There's always something to do that doesn't cost much, if anything at all. Some of the classroom buildings are on the older side, but most of them have been updated on the inside and have smartrooms. We have a new section to our library that has group study smartrooms and overlooks the campus.
What to do for fun We have an amazing baseball and basketball team and we have a lot of school pride so going to games are always a blast! ASI hosts a lot of fun activities in the student union, including karaoke. We have a small bowling alley and a billiards section. We also have a video game room that a lot of people use. The Dorms host a lot of fun events for dorming students. We also have a small outdoor amphitheater where local bands, or student bands, will come and play in the afternoon and most of them are really good! There's always something to do!
Food and Dining Our Titan Student Union has some of the best restaurants. We have Panda Express, Togo's, Round Table Pizza, Starbucks, Fresh Kitchen, and Juice it up. There's also the Gastronome, our dorm cafeteria, which is open to all students and is buffet style.
Dorm Life There are brand new dorms and a brand new cafeteria. They look really high-end and modern, but are very reasonable. Since they're the traditional dorm style there's a great social atmosphere.
Academic Rigor It depends on what major you're in. Some majors, such as business, are incredibly difficult, and others are more what you would expect at a four year university. I've always felt challenged and have seen a definite growth in my academic abilities and critical thinking skills. The professors I've had, have always been excellent and care about their students and courses.
Tips for prospective students Get involved in a club or student association your freshman year. You'll have more time to be an officer and develop relationships with other club members. Not only is it self-rewarding in that sense, but you gain a lot of life experience that you can discuss in interviews and the experience looks excellent on resumes.
In three sentences I've loved being a student at Cal-State Fullerton. There's a large enough population that you're always able to meet new people and there are a lot of extracurricular opportunities. I like that the campus isn't too big, it's about a 20 minute walk from one side of the campus to the other, because it doesn't seem overwhelmingly large like some campuses I visited.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Cal State Fullerton is a very safe campus! I've taken night classes here before and I never had any problems walking to the parking lot alone at night. There were even days where I chose to stay late on campus and didn't experience any sort of danger/threats. If you forgot where you parked, you can call campus security...they are also available to walk you to your car if you are afraid at night.
Greek Life I personally did not think that there were a lot of sororities and fraternities to choose from. If you happen to be interested in them, great! If not, don't worry...there are off-campus open sororities and fraternities to check out. These do not require that you are enrolled in their specific college, but they may have other requirements such as a 2.5 GPA or better, or enrollment in at least 6 or more units at any college. For more information on Greek Life, there are many organizations that set their booths up during Discoverfest in the beginning of each semester. Discoverfest is an event where students get to walk around from table to table to get more information on the clubs on campus.
Clubs and Activities If you feel like you're missing out on a college social life, you have to make the effort to get involved! Otherwise, you'll be commuting to school, going to work, and studying for exams/class assignments. If that is the life that you want, that's fine. But if it's not, I highly recommend that you get involved. You do not want to graduate and think of Cal State Fullerton as 'just another four or more years in school'. On a different note, if you like to work out, we have a really nice gym that you can check out! You enter by typing in your Campus Wide ID number, followed by a handprint scan. Lockers are provided--there is no need for additional locks because each locker comes with a number lock where you can create your own four-digit password for the entire time you plan to use the locker for. The equipments are also nice! Machines such as the treadmill offer a t.v. with cable channels, so you don't have to watch the same channel on one tv with everyone else in the room. Just plug in your earphones and change the channel to whatever you want and you're set! Free towels are offered at the counters if you need them, and if you're interested in playing racquetball, there are plenty of rooms available.
Great for these types of students Anyone who is interested in having fun while earning a degree!
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus CSUF is very diverse...we have cultural events on campus, as well as people giving speeches to inform other students about religions, etc.
Bang for the buck Most places are pretty decently priced...I live about 20-30 minutes away from Fullerton, and I always make sure that I fill up a full tank of gas from the gas stations in Fullerton before I go home. It is about 20-30 cents cheaper than where I live. Also, there are student discounts to a variety of theme parks, shows, etc. For more information on that, please visit the student union on campus. For food, I prefer to go to the Gastronome dining common, located near the dorms. It is less than $10 for lunch (breakfast is cheaper, and dinner is a little more expensive), but it is all you can eat! For medicine, our health center offers prescribed medicine for $1!
What to do for fun Two words: JOIN CLUBS/GET INVOLVED! It definitely helps you get more out of your college experience and we have lots of clubs to choose from. Find one that interests you, and always keep an open mind about it in the process. Sometimes you may not find a certain club interesting, but it'll surprise you. By the end of the semester, you'll be creating fun events with the other members! The clubs also offer seasonal events such as winter retreats (snowboarding, etc) and summer retreats (roadtrips, etc) depending on the club that you're involved in.
Food and Dining We have SO many foods places all around campus AND off campus. Most places are within walking distances, so if you're hungry and don't feel like walking all the way to the student union to get food, there are restaurants all around no matter where you are.
Dorm Life Personally, I don't have experience with this, but most of my friends and classmates that dorm, LOVE it! We have newly furnished dorms along with a brand new dining common that feels like you're eating at a buffet! For more information, you can google CSUF Gastronome on all the foods that we offer.
Academic Rigor College is not a joke...if you don't keep up your grades, you might end up on academic probation, followed by academic disqualification. It's a lot harder to get into college now than it was 10 years ago, so make sure you keep up your game! The professors challenge you to think critically, and if you pay attention in class and motivate yourself to study hard enough to pass, you'll be fine. If you find yourself struggling, DO NOT BE AFRAID to talk to your professors. If you make the effort to keep an open communication with them and show them that you really want to pass, they will do everything in their power to help you get there. *Four stars because some classes can be hard while others are easy, but no matter the level of difficulty you'll learn a lot more than you can imagine.
Tips for prospective students Parking can be crazy during school hours, but if you commute long enough, you learn easy tricks to get a spot without going through the hassle. Also, if you need help on ANYTHING, there are A LOT of resources on campus to help you out (financial counseling, personal counseling, academic counseling, advice, tutoring, etc).
In three sentences Cal State Fullerton is a commuter school. As a commuter student, I feel like most commuter students just want to go to school, and leave when they're done. However, like everything else in life, you have to put in a little effort to make the most of it in order to gain the college experience you want; it's all about what you make of it: the more you put in, the more you get out in the end.

Dorm Life Im not dorming but from what i hear its a whole new experience. Plus the new dorms are amazing and beautiful.
Academic Rigor This school is legit and they do not play around when it comes to your education and school work.
Tips for prospective students make sure you know your buildings never get too comfortable with your schedule, people can get in the way of your route and distract you during passing periods.
In three sentences This school is amazing. If you are serious about your school life and fun then this school is for you. You make your college experience this school only enhances it.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Security offers the service of walking you to your dorm or car after dark. Each dorm room has a high and low peep hole so you can see who's knocking. All the dorm buildings are only accessible by key.
Clubs and Activities There are so many clubs to get involved in it is difficult to choose. I would recommend one of the many christian groups that meet regularly on campus.
Great for these types of students Has long been a commuter campus, but with the addition of the new dorms there is a great feeling of community on campus.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The mascot Tuffy the Elephant came to be when they used to have real elephant races on the campus during the 1960's-just google it!
Bang for the buck It is hard to beat the cost of a State University. If it is near your home and you don't have to live on campus, that is a plus also. The cost of housing is similar to other colleges in the area.
What to do for fun The recreation center with pool, rock climbing wall and dance rooms are amazing. They have special discount nights in the bowling alley on campus. Each floor of the dorms has a recreation room with TV and microwave for socializing.
Food and Dining The Gastronome cafeteria is awesome! So many healthy choices. You can eat whenever you want during the day which helps when you have a busy class schedule. Also a late night cafe with outdoor eating area and fireplace.
Dorm Life Brand new beautiful dorms that house two students per room. The rooms are very roomy with high vaulted ceilings giving them a light and bright feeling. Great sized closet also.
Academic Rigor I'll let you know how I do. They have high admissions standard for GPA and community service activities. They also have a pretty high GPA standard for transfer students. This year it was 3.0 and they don't publish that ahead of time so you just take your chances when you apply. Next year it might be 3.5 or higher.
Tips for prospective students Watch closesly for deposit and registration deadlines. Copy everything you send to the financial aid and other offices as it is a impacted campus that has been know to lose information.
In three sentences Top 20 in the nation for my major. There is a strong connection to the industry for graduates. It has brand new state of the art performing arts center. It is just up the street from Disneyland.

Categories Comments What to do for fun My favorite thing to do is walking around, sitting, relaxing, and either people watching or writing outside. Otherwise, exploring the campus or looking for clubs and new friends is a great choice.
Food and Dining The campus has private restaurants and joints located around the campus but the Starbucks in the SMG Hall is by far the most outstanding.
Dorm Life Am not dorming.
Academic Rigor From what I've seen, it isn't so stressful as the teachers know how to make courses as easy and survivable as possible while still teaching all the material.
Tips for prospective students Don't be afraid to come in. It is a big change from high school, and experiment. It might take a while to find your desired major, but don't freak out!
In three sentences It has a very nice campus and very dedicated teachers. The radio-tv-film program seems to have exceptional equipment and facilities. From orientation, I have been very impressed by what they have to offer for my studies.

Categories Comments Campus Safety This campus is very safe. There are lots of emergency call boxes and Campus Security will be more than willing to safely accompany you to your vehicle or class if needed.
What to do for fun I have not been on campus long enough to know where to go for fun. The Student Recreation Center seems to be the place to be. A student can hang out, work out, swim or even rock climb in the Student Recreation Center.
Food and Dining There are plenty of places to eat all over campus. There is a Juice It Up truck and a Carl's Jr on campus as well as two Starbucks and many others. There are also ATM's of various banks in case a student needs cash for food.
Dorm Life I personally do not have any experience with the dorm life. My friend however, does and she says that it is an excellent experience and that the dorms on campus are very safe and comfortable. Given the right financial circumstances, I definitely would look into living in a dorm.
Academic Rigor So far my classes are based more on quality than quantity. This is difficult for those who are not very detail oriented but there is plenty of time to get help on assignments prior to submission. Professors may be tricky to track down but they will gladly be of help to anyone seeking it.
Tips for prospective students Prospective students should definitely visit the campus at least once before actually attending and they will fall in love. Students should also see a counselor for their major so that they have their educational plan laid out. Last but not least, students should join a club of some sort; meeting new people is essential in forming lasting relationships.
In three sentences California State University, Fullerton is a very cozy campus with everything the college student needs. The student-professor ratio (in my classes) is about 24:1, which is excellent for those who need easier access to their professor. There is a variety of places to study on campus and as well as places to relax after a stressful day at in class.

Categories Comments Campus Safety There are always on-site security, police, and medical staff, so CSUF makes you feel comfortable and safe at all times.
Greek Life My best friend is involved in the Greek Life at CSUF, and I could not be more happy for him. He has made lifelong brothers and friends from his experience. Everyone is friendly and wants to have a good time. It is also a great place for networking.
Clubs and Activities There are always ways to participate on campus, furthermore many professors push joining clubs and activities to build connections and to enhance your portfolio or resume.
Great for these types of students Artistic, bright-minded, and eager students are a best fit for CSUF.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus CSUF has an awesome pub attached to a bowling alley on campus. If I recall correctly, bowling is a dollar. The Dude abides.
Bang for the buck CSUF is worth every penny. I have never had so many passionate professors who teach me useful information to further my professional success. My future is bright because of CSUF.
What to do for fun By joining clubs, and school organizations, you can meet lifelong friends and gain experiences and connections for a successful future. There is always something to do at CSUF. Whether it's a rugby game, fraternity dance, or school play, CSUF will be there for many different fun activities.
Food and Dining Around campus there are plenty of restaurants to eat. For myself, I choose to eat fresh, healthy food, and there are plenty of options on campus to do so.
Dorm Life Dorm life at CSUF is a great experience. Located central to campus, the dorms are your connection to a more involved college experience. They provide you with the means to participate, so you can look back on your college experience as a memorable time in your life, gaining friends, and connections.
Academic Rigor Academically, CSUF is a perfect place to gain a better education. Offering hundreds of majors, emphasis, and minors, CSUF will be the connection you need to grasp success in your professional endeavors.
Tips for prospective students Some tips for prospective students would be to take classes that inspire their desired field of work. CSUF is a great place to network and build a future for oneself. Another important tip is to get involved. CSUF offers many clubs, organizations, and events that I urge prospective students to participate in, gaining a more memorable and enjoyable college career.
In three sentences California State Univertsity-Fullerton is an exceptional school because they not only inspire students to success professionally, but also in their personal lives. Known for the arts, business, and science, CSUF is a pillar for many students and a starting point for the rest of their lives. With passionate professors, students will dive into their desired major coursework with excitement, gaining an influential confidence in themselves.

Categories Comments Campus Safety There is help booths all over the campus and university police and other campus safety officials are quick to respond if anyone requires assistance. There are numerous blind, deaf, and other disabled students who get around campus efficiently and with ease.
Greek Life I am not part of it, therefore i cannot talk about them in great detail. They are a good variety of greek clubs and they are successful.
Clubs and Activities There are almost 150 clubs, so there has to be something for everyone of all interests, shapes, and sizes.
Great for these types of students The business section and kinesiology are quite popular on campus and most of the student population is made up of that, but the rest of the campus majors are also enjoyable.
Bang for the buck The quality of education in general has not increased that much relative to price inflation and this applies to all colleges. While it's not as bang for buck as community colleges, it is still worth going to.
What to do for fun Explore the Arboretum, Brea mall, quite a great deal of parks. Downtown fullerton is also fun to explore and eat!
Food and Dining There is new dorms cafeteria the gastronome, which serves up delicious meals and is accessible for everyone. The campus itself has a carls jr restaurant and other fast food options in the bigger cafeteria. There are plenty of good places just outside of campus like Pieology and What's up men to eat at!
Dorm Life never participated in it.
Academic Rigor Can't really complain about it, since i enjoy my classes. They maybe hard, but they are worth taking them and completing them, my major classes at least.
Tips for prospective students Great Campus. Get involved and keep yourself motivated.
In three sentences The classes are in a very fun atmosphere where the major classes are in small population classes. The students and faculty are very open and outgoing on campus that it is not hard to get involved or to make friends. The campus and its surroundings have plenty of resources to work with and have fun.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Fantastic. I feel safe everywhere I go. They have these cool buttons placed throughout the campus that sends a signal to the on campus police if you are in trouble. Even in the middle of the night.
Greek Life Sorry, can't help with this one.
Clubs and Activities Don't get me started on the clubs. There are so many it's crazy. They even have an ANIME CLUB.
Great for these types of students Great for any average college student.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus My friends and I usually hang out at the food court. Yeah, they have a food court. It's a great place to study, too!
Bang for the buck Great price for what you get. :)
What to do for fun There is so much. Bowling even! The campus is full of life and opportunities. Take advantage of them!
Food and Dining Food is simply wonderful. Never gets old.
Dorm Life I love the dorms here. I do not dorm myself, but a few times a week I would stay with my friend and it was GREAT.
Academic Rigor Some Doctors can bit a bit over bearing. that does not make give you an excuse to perform poorly.
Tips for prospective students DO NOT MISS CLASS! (Unless the reason is actually good, like you are sick) Even work is not a good excuse. Study. Study. Oh and Study. I think that goes without saying.
In three sentences The professors are willing to help you. The campus is beautiful. You must study in order to pass the selective courses.

Categories Comments Campus Safety We are gifted with a police station on our campus and officers that have jurisdiction in a one mile radius outside of the campus. All around campus blue light emergency response poles are located, giving an extra sense of security. The campus is patrolled by the police and they even offer a service in which they escort students to their vehicles after night classes.
Greek Life The Greek life here seems to be very active, especially since there are so many varied options in terms of which Greek group to join. During rush week the quad was packed with an awesome amount of fraternities and sororities all for different ethnicities, , volunteer focused groups, groups focused on positive experiences for freshman, groups with a focus on creating a solid group of friends for incoming students and many, many more.
Clubs and Activities There are many clubs here-sports, food, culture, video, art, animation, agriculture, ethnic-so many. Seriously, they've all been thought of and created here.
Great for these types of students Students who want to become involved, or at least want the option to, don;t hesitate to apply here. Students who have varied interest in terms of majors should also apply here.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus There is a replica of the statue of David that was aquired after an earthquake knocked it over and broke it on someones estate. The David was brought to CSUF and the pieces are all in a central area near the dorms, right next to a tree. For good luck before tests and exams, students rub David's buttocks three times for good luck.
Bang for the buck This school, for what you get in terms of education, has what I find to be the most reasonable tuition. i didn't realize this at first, but when compared with other schools. I'd say this is a pretty good deal.
What to do for fun The campus has a recreational center with a pool, indoor running area, gym's, dance rooms, and a rock wall for starters. For those not of the super athletic persuasion, the underground has a bowling alley and ping pong tables. There are also activities hosted by the associated students incorporated (asi). These vary from band performances to an upcoming carnival. on wednesdays in the pub they have alternative band performances, which are always interesting to go to.
Food and Dining There are so many options in the Titan Student Union alone it is ridiculous. We have Juice it up, Pho, Round Table, Panda Express-pretty much, you can be in a mood for any type of food and find it here. There are sit down dining areas and an underground level with a pub and pizza. At lunch the place is packed with students studying and enjoying each others company. For dorming students there is the Gastrodome, which I've never been in, but I hear it's quite the place to chow.
Dorm Life I won't have much input on this because I am not part of a dorm. From what I hear, the dorms are nice, well furnished and close to facilities. The all inclusive packages also come with meal plans to help students dorming on campus. From what I hear, it's nice.
Academic Rigor The instructors focus on giving an all-around education, which includes application of material to life outside of college and future endeavors.
Tips for prospective students Focus on what you would like to achieve here. If you want to do well, you have to avoid getting overwhelmed at school.
In three sentences California State University is a bouillabaisse, filled with many majors, many walks of life, many ethnic groups and friendly student leaders. The campus itself is beautiful. The atmosphere is calm.

Categories Comments Campus Safety The safety is pretty great! They have these blue posts all around that say emergency. If anything happens you press it and they'll be there under two minutes. However, it seems like a very safe school and low on crime.
Clubs and Activities They have dozens, if not at least a hundred clubs! From all things and for all reasons: environmental, cultural, athletes, religion, regional, newspaper, etc. If you can think of it, it's probably there and if not you can start your own club so long as you have a handful of people!
Bang for the buck I have no complaints about the classes or courses. My only complaint is parking! It can be very frustrating even if you have a pass (which is not cheap).
What to do for fun They have the rec center, they have the gym, and a bunch of other things. Or if you enjoy dancing there's dance classes and clubs.
Food and Dining There's all sorts of places to eat. They have various Starbucks, a Panda Epxress, couple Juice it Ups, and other places to eat. The dorms have a buffet, but I've never tried it.
Dorm Life I don't dorm, but I've yet to hear a complaint from friends!
Academic Rigor My classes aren't extremely hard, but then again I've only been able to take my GE classes so far. No slacking though! Teachers are nice but fair and don't tolerate lagging it.
Tips for prospective students Be involved! Join clubs, it's a great way to meet people and new friends. Don't be scared to ask anyone for anything, everyone is willing to help.
In three sentences I'm a freshman, and so far I love it here! The students are extremely nice and there's so many ways to be involved. The teachers are great, and the staff is always so friendly and helpful.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Honestly, I've never seen a security guard or police officer on campus, they just drive around the school like sharks praying on homeless people. . . ohh too soon?
Greek Life It's greekish.
Clubs and Activities Debate/Forensics team and Honor Society (Lambda Pi Eta) . . it's not the same as a fraternity. We be smart.
Great for these types of students There campus is VERY diverse, so, anyone really.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Students spend half their day in the parking lot, JK. It's only bad for the first four weeks. There are constant activities in the quad all year around. Join a club.
Bang for the buck Yes, with tuition rising everywhere, CSUF is still affordable.
What to do for fun Study, find ways to graduate sooner, and study some more. Meet professors and pick their minds, not their noses.
Food and Dining There is a variety.
Dorm Life I have never lived in a dorm but I hear that the admin pair you up with students who are alike; age, interest, etc.
Academic Rigor I've been here two semesters and I feel like I've learned so much. I speak for myself, it is what you make it.
Tips for prospective students Be ready to study. Ask questions, not only in class but everywhere on campus. No one is going to walk you to graduation, it's an interactive process.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Never had a problem. But always be safe. The campus is just like the real world. Treat it like that and you'll be fine!
Great for these types of students Smart and smart spenders.
Bang for the buck If your looking for a great state school with a reputation for grandeur despite its size; Its CSUF! You dont need to spend thousands of dollars on a degree you might change later or switch and then spend a ton of money on some expensive private school with the same reputation. Get a good GPA, but get involved and worry more about the experiences and learning, not the palpable fallacy of a private institution. CSUF is just as good!
What to do for fun Fullerton is within reasonable reach of many fun things like the beach, mall, Disneyland, golf courses, hiking trails, and more!
Food and Dining Great study area for food areas as well.
Academic Rigor Do your best. If it is not hard, your doing something wrong.
Tips for prospective students Keep your nose clean, study (but breath as well), take advantages of the workout facilities and other discounted opportunities as a student. Learn what interest you!!
In three sentences California State University Fullerton is a great academic environment for all groups of diverse cultures and shared future explorations academically. I am a current Kinesiology Major, who, when I first applied out of High School was Biochemistry and swore I would not be that student who changes their major. Tips for prospective students It's always good to be on top of your studies, listen to the teachers and apply yourselves.

Categories Comments Campus Safety All across campus there are emergency call buttons which go directly to the on campus police. The call buttons can be used from dangerous situations to needing a ride late at night so no one has to walk alone. I have walked back to my dorm by myself more than once and have felt perfectly safe, however it is not the universities policy to allow people to walk unaccompanied (I'm such a rebel). Also, any calls made to 911 go directly to the on campus police too. Therefore, it is a very safe environment to study and live at.
Great for these types of students Calstate Fullerton is great for theater students. It's intense program is perfect for those thinking about getting into the business. Another department which I have heard great things about for it's students is the linguist department. This is also a perfect school for future teachers. Another major this school is highly recommended for is business majors.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus There is an odd tradition which involves a broken naked statue, test, and the action of rubbing. A while ago the school had put a replica of the Statue of David up, however due to an earthquake it fell and broke into several large pieces, on of them being his butt. If a student has a hard test they rub the butt of David three times for good luck. Another fun fact is that it is said that the reason the school's mascot is a elephant is because one an elephant race was once held on campus.
Bang for the buck Calstate Fullerton is one of the cheapest state universities with the best programs. Its a great place to get an education for a great price. However tuition is starting to increase, so there is a possibility in a few short years that it will become more expensive.
What to do for fun There are many recreational activities on campus. The arboretum is a nice place to go for a walk, read or have a picnic. Sometimes movies are played outside on a big screen just outside of the dorms. In the TSU there is a bowling alley in the basement. The school also has a gym which has a swimming pool for anybody who loves to swim. There is also the theaters which put on a large amount of plays, musicals and music performances. Then there is the Brea mall which is close by which has plenty of shops and a movie theater thats walking distance. Just make sure to have directions.
Food and Dining The cafeteria, called the Gastronome, has great food. In the morning there is a omelet bar where they prepare an omelet to the costumers preference right in front of them. In the beginning of the year theres a wide choice of food yet there arent as many choices as it gets further into the year. The deserts are displayed in the front and they always look good, so beware the freshman fifteen. There are no trays in the gastronome (sometimes nicknamed the nome) which can make getting food from different sections difficult. right next door is the Late Night Cafe that is opened on week nights for students who have either a late classes or just want to stop on in for a midnight snack. Nearby there is a student store which has open up just recently where students can buy groceries. Necessities are on the lower pice side whereas treats are far more expensive. Over at the Titian Student Union (TSU) which is on the opposite side of campus, there are places to eat such as Panda Express, Togos, and other fast food chains which do cost money. Also, there are other fast food restaurants in walking distance from the school.
Dorm Life I will not lie, the housing office is very inefficient. They are late in cashing cheques, and often don't know the answers to many questions. However the dorms are very well kept. The dorms are one room with two large beds (which can be rearranged into bunk beds if a request is made), two study desks which are on the smallest side but not bad, and two closets which have plenty of space. Space between each roommates side of the room is very limited. Also the carpet is of a darker color so it's harder to tell how dirty it is, so make sure to vacuum more than twice in the entire year ( Vacuums can be checked out for free at the housing office). The cafeteria is nearby as well which is nice considering there is no kitchen in the freshmen dorms.
Academic Rigor Major classes are taken very seriously and if a student does not work hard they will not last in that major for very long. That being said, the teachers are always ready to help a struggling student that is willing to put effort in. Every teacher has office hours so their students can come to talk with them, and most teachers are also willing to set up outside appointments if someone is unable to make it to office hours. General education classes are perhaps not as rigorous, but no walk in the park and the teachers tend to be equally as passionate. In both causes, how much one can get out of a class is dependent on the student.
Tips for prospective students Procrastination is a horrible habit which in the long run leaves students having less time to be with friends, relax, and be a part of other activities. Also, always show up to class. I, for one, have only ever missed class if I was feeling ready to die from sickness, yet I have had friends who have failed classes from just not attending. Going to class is a means of absorbing information verbally which is helpful when studying because your brain has already processed what was said, therefore less time can be spent studying yet understanding the material more.
In three sentences California State University of Fullerton has a staff of well informed professors and are always ready to help any student. However, the school does not believe that academics are the only factor of sole importance, but rather that learning how to be a better member of society is also a lesson of great value. The campus contains a wide variety of many different people with different beliefs and customs which makes it's students learn what it means to be a part of a diverse community.

Clubs and Activities We have great clubs and activities for students. Our intramural sports clubs are famous. We have clubs like Rugby and Lacrosse. The Ultimate Frisbee club is the campus favorite.
Great for these types of students If your a commute student its perfect because your close to everything in Orange County. If your an athlete or like to stay active then this school is for you because of the student recreation center. If you're a student whose interested in pursuing a career in teaching then CS Fullerton is for you. We have a well respected teaching program.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus We have interesting art work and sculptures around campus. Our most famous piece of art is our statue of David. Its broken into large pieces, so some students sit on the pieces and study.
Bang for the buck The campus recreation center is awesome. Its free for students and so are the towel services. The center offers a full gym, pool, indoor track, and basketball courts.
What to do for fun I train in Brazlian Jiu-Jitsu in my spare time. I also work out with the campus Grappling team. I enjoy movie watching as well.
Food and Dining The dining on campus is okay but they have better options off campus. I recommend 5 Guys Burgers. Their burgers are amazing and the fries are famous.
Dorm Life I don't live on campus but I do hear dorm life is pretty cool. My classmates say it can be quiet and lively when they have dorm activities. All in all, I hear dorm life is okay.
Academic Rigor The academic standards are pretty tough and so is the work load but if you study hard, its manageable.
Tips for prospective students I recommend riding a bicycle or skate boarding around campus because parking can be little busy around this campus. If you're a Kinesiology major I recommend Dr. Sherman and Dr. Weirsma. They're both great instructors.
In three sentences On a scale of one to ten, I rate CS Fullerton at a 10. CS Fullerton is a great campus and provides me with one on one time with my instructors. I really enjoy attending this school.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Rated 10. We have emergency polls all around campus to push in case of emergencies, we have many fire alarms which are tested consistently, we have practice drills, and campus police walk/drive around campus everyday. It is a very safe place to be.
Greek Life Greek Life is something extremely special. I went through recruitment myself my freshman year and joined a sorority called Delta Zeta. This sorority was solely based on helping deaf children. We had events all the time to raise money for them while also attending the other Sororities and Fraternities events. I also learned the values of family and sisters. They always have your back. It was one experience I really enjoyed and am glad I am apart of.
Clubs and Activities Each semester they have booths out for discoverfest which explains all the clubs and sports programs. We have so many I can not even count them but it is so great figuring out which ones fit you. It is great to be involved.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus There is one section on campus by Langsdorf Hall with Orange Trees. The reason those are there are because the school was built on an old orchard. Also by the Library and Health Center there are places to sit underneath some trees. Those trees represent the lives lost in the school shooting by a janitor who worked there in the 1980's.
Bang for the buck Worth the fees(:
What to do for fun Clubs, Parties, Shopping. Movies, Mall, Disneyland, Knotts, Hookah, Bars and much more.
Food and Dining The food and dining is really good. They have a Titan Student Union in which you can eat and study. There is a coffee place, Juice it up, Panda Express, Baja Fresh, a soup and salad place, Togo's, round table and other small snack shops. Across the street from the school their are also many choices for food. There is sandwich shops, burger places, Japanese food, Chinese food, Mexican food, and also all the regular fast food joints(Jack, Del Taco, Taco Bell, Subway,McDonald's, etc)
Dorm Life The dorm life is so much fun. I lived on campus my first year attending Cal State and it made adjusting so much easier. First of all you did not have to worry about parking, second you were involved in many more activities, and third you had more space to study peacefully. Best experience I ever had.
Academic Rigor Tough classes, tough quizzes and tests, tough papers but great professors to help you out
Tips for prospective students .Use the resources-tutoring, office hours, academic advising etc. .Sit in the front of the classrooms . Be on time .Do not skip class-every class in important
In three sentences I give California State University Fullerton a 10! They have great athletics, classrooms, and professors. They also have great resources for getting help with whatever you may need such as tutoring for any subject, counselors, writing center and much more.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Very safe campus and they make sure to keep it that way.
Greek Life Very nice people who have a very diverse of people involved. They like to have a lot of fun, but also are very academically involved.
Clubs and Activities So many to choose from. There are the ones in your college or those that are for everyone.
Bang for the buck You get what you pay for, which is a very good education. They emphasize the need to be prepared for the job market and their career center helps you with that.
What to do for fun Tons of places to go around Fullerton. The nice thing about the campus is that you can drive anywhere, or take the bus anywhere and do stuff. Disneyland is a fifteen minute drive and the beach is less than a 20 mile drive. Go to games on the weekends, or join one of the many clubs on campus and volunteer at the events they put on.
Food and Dining Tons of places to eat around campus with something for everyone. There are also several walking distance places off campus if you prefer that.
Dorm Life I don't live on campus but I've heard that the rooms are very small.
Academic Rigor The classes are really challenging but in a good way. Most professors give you a good amount of time to complete assignments, and the classes really help prepare you for jobs.
Tips for prospective students Apply early! This campus is a big commuter one but it's not hard to get to as long as you know where you're going. Parking isn't that great so get to school early to find a spot. Join all the clubs you can and volunteer!
In three sentences Very diverse and beautiful campus. Something for everyone who wants to joins clubs and Greek affiliations. The academics are also really good and classes are above average.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Excellent. There are always police officers and campus faculty are always about. I never feel danger; and I feel safe.
Great for these types of students Students who live in the neighboring area, and who are from different regions who want to explore.
Bang for the buck It's much more cheaper than UC's and private schools; so to be honest, CSUF still holds out as a spearhead for the most bang for the buck. Education is good, social life is adequate, fine living is great.
What to do for fun One can participate in campus events or join a club; but other than that, it's difficult to say. The neighboring cities provide most of the entertainment. Eating out, watching movies, visiting the Brea Mall, Disneyland, clubbing and bar hopping at the Fullerton bars are what make up CSUF life. Be wary of spending lots of money quickly.
Food and Dining The food and dining are excellent. The dining halls cater to nearly anyones' tastes; and the gastronome is an above average HomeTown Buffet. The food tastes great and the hygiene is wonderful.
Dorm Life I have a couple of friends that live in the CSUF dorms. The dorms are rather small; and people of the same major are collected together in the same floors. I do say that the lifestyle is rather boring; my friends who live there rather go out rather than stay on campus, unfortunately. The school is blossoming with commuters; so like many other reviews, I'd have to say that CSUF dorm life is not exactly popping.
Academic Rigor The classes aren't hard, but I am lucky. I actually investigated my professors. I've heard of many horror stories of how difficult some professors; but also from those same people that reviewed their professors, I heard how much they learned. Overpopulated classes are annoying, because it's difficult to learn.
Tips for prospective students If CSUF has programs or majors that garner your interest, namely Psychology, Business, Communications, do join! They are respected in the region; and the Alumni do well apparently. As for the social aspect if you are interested, CSUF has good looking boys and girls, and people here are fun and open. If you want to find peace in mind, this place would be perfect. It is quite laid back, and you can nearly do anything you want.
In three sentences It's a diverse environment that caters to students of all ethnicities; but while being accepting, it fails to integrate the student body. The education is generally good, but however in some cases the administration is over zealous with the idea of the dissemination of knowledge in grossly over populated class rooms. All in all, CSUF deserves a B-.

Academic Rigor Teachers are very helpful and go over material well.

Categories Comments Campus Safety People's belongings are often stolen. Every once and while someone commits suicide by jumping from one of our parking structures. Last week we had an 8 hour lockdown on campus because 2 gunman escaped onto our campus.
Greek Life The Greek life hear is pretty overrated. It's basically what you see on TV, young men pursuing drunk girls and trying to take advantage of them. I should know, I went to a lot of Greek parties my freshman year.
Clubs and Activities The Alpha Omega Campus Ministry saved my life! I love this group! They taught me how to love God and what an adventure it truly is to follow Jesus through the Bible and not the religious traditions of today.
Great for these types of students CSUF is great for people who want a quality education but are social and outgoing. If you like to make friends and are an open-minded person CSUF is a great fit for you.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Sometimes people rub Michaelangelo's David's butt during finals week for good luck. The emphasis is on the word SOMETIMES.
Bang for the buck This school is expensive. The parking pass for one semester is $220. Tuition fees usually increase every semester and have doubled since I started in 2007.
What to do for fun Make friends with the right crowd. Your level of fun will be determined mostly by your friendships. Check out the Alpha Omega Campus Ministry Family Nights. They are down to earth people with cheap and fun activities like ice blocking.
Food and Dining Food on campus is usually really expensive. There are some places on campus that have loopholes. You can get cheap snacks but not cheap meals.
Dorm Life Dorm life can be fun but is more likely to be a distraction. My roommates and I made plenty of foolish decisions while living in the dorms.
Academic Rigor Scholastically, this school has its challenging moments but if you are wise in how approach each class, you can pretty much coast a lot of the time.
Tips for prospective students Get involved in a group on campus. You want to be a part of something that really matters and will allow you to give to someone who can never repay you.
In three sentences California State University Fullerton is what you make of it. If you have the attitude that you are going to come to school and go back home then you will feel like you wasted your college years. C.S.U.F. is a great school if you are willing to invest in your experience.

What to do for fun There is an underground pub and bowling on campus!
Food and Dining The dining is okay not many options

Academic Rigor Its pretty tough to earn a good grade here but nothing is impossible. If you study well you will succeed.
Tips for prospective students I recommend Csuf because i feel like its a safe campus with many oppurtunties to offer.
In three sentences Csuf is a safe school. The campus looks amazing and its easy to find your classes. The staff and faculty are always happy to help students.

Categories Comments What to do for fun There's an underground area in which there's a plethora of TVs used for movies/cable/ and Xbox games. There is also a bowling alley here along with some pool tables and an arcade. If that isn't your thing, there's a gym where people can play basketball and volleyball. It also offers classes from self defense to hip hop dancing. Inside the gym, there is also a swimming pool and a rock climbing wall.
Food and Dining The newly constructed Gastronome is actually quite tasty. It's a buffet style cafeteria that offers a wide variety of delicious food.
Academic Rigor I do not find my classes to have been all too challenging. However, I've only been registered to general education courses. I will report back once I've taken some upper division classes. Other than that, the classes are fairly simple and easy, not much different from high school.
Tips for prospective students My tip for prospective students is to join the Finish In Four program. This program helps you get on track and forces you to meet with your academic advisers, a mandatory task that every student should be doing biyearly anyways. It also gives you priority registration to obtain the classes you want. Unfortunately for a lot of students, this program can only be joined during your freshmen year and it not available to others once past this year. The next tip is to always be prepared, especially for parking.
In three sentences Fullerton is a very small campus with a large majority of commuters. There is a plethora of services available to students. However, I do not believe they're very well known among the students.

What to do for fun The bowling is great! There are also a lot of things going on all over once you find them. Every Wednesday they have free concerts in the amphitheater too.
Food and Dining The Starbucks in the business building is the best starbucks on campus! The rest of the food is pretty good too. Except its a little bit on the pricey side. But you will probably run into that on all University campuses.
Dorm Life I don't dorm but the dorms that I have been in are nice and look like fun. They just built really nice dorms as well as more apartment like dorming options.
Academic Rigor I am a theatre major and I feel that the classes for my major are overall challenging and very interesting. The general education classes are hit or miss. I have had some excellent teachers for some and some not so excellent teachers for other courses. Just ask around before choosing a specific teacher.
Tips for prospective students Get involved and take a tour before deciding. Ask a lot of questions about everything!

Categories Comments Campus Safety Two armed robbers hid on campus one afternoon and sent everything into chaos. Emergency texts and phone calls were sent out, evacuating those who were out of class, and barricading those who were still in class. The communication was very effective and no one was hurt that day.
Clubs and Activities Lots of clubs to choose from that can range from cigar aficionados to frats and academics clubs.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus On campus there is a statue of David that, unfortunately, fell during an earthquake and broke. To remember the event the school left the remains. Students now rub the statues butt for good luck on tests.
Bang for the buck Cal State Fullerton was among only five universities cited by the Education Trust as the most affordable and accessible institutions with high graduation rates. I can attest to that since Cal state Fullerton has also been helping me financially which allows me to concentrate on school and going to pharmacy school.
What to do for fun The new recreation center was opened and can be used to exercise your stress away. The titan union center has a bowling alley, pool tables, arcade, video games, and karaoke. Different events and activities pepper the year like find a club day or free pizza day. Downtown Fullerton isn't too far away and is a blast to go to on a Friday night.
Food and Dining Food on campus is varied but can get monotonous. The best are the places off campus. A lot of variety and all of it is in walking or biking distance.
Dorm Life Its more of a commuter school, so I don't think dorm life is anything special.
Academic Rigor I am a biochemistry major so it feels like the kitchen sink is thrown at us at times. Otherwise the general education classes are fun with a good amount of writing assignments thrown in. This can range though depending on the teacher you select. research the teachers on rate my professor to see what past students have said.
Tips for prospective students Research the department that you will complete your degree in. I came to Fullerton for the simple fact that it is easier to make connections with teachers and faculty because of smaller class sizes. Use all the resources available including tutoring centers, writing centers, career center. Try and get involved, it makes the school year a lot funner.
In three sentences Cal state Fullerton is a great place to go to make connections for present and the future. The teachers try help you inside and outside of the classroom. In the end you get what you put into it.

What to do for fun Disneyland! Jazz club, coffee house, group hang outs and parties.
Food and Dining Many options for cheap food to buy or places to buy your food and cook at home.
Dorm Life I am currently not in a dorm but the apartments around are great and convenient.
Academic Rigor There is a lot of work once the school year starts but I think that it is manageable. You just need to make sure you are scheduling your homework and any other activities into your day with a good amount of time for each.
Tips for prospective students Get involved and don't be afraid to try new things. If someone gives you a flyer or comes up to you asking you to try something different, do it. You never know what you will find that helps you grow. Be on top of your work and get in contact with your professor as soon as you need it.
In three sentences I have found that CSUF was an answer that I was looking for for a long time. I have found many opportunities for making connections, making friends and creating a life for myself. Categories Comments Campus Safety The campus is relatively safe with the campus police patrolling different areas at times, emergency blue phones located throughout the campus, and safety escorts.
Greek Life There are some fraternities/sororities that are beneficial for networking and community work. They do require a certain grade point average, community work, and membership fee, but it is a great way to expand your networks.
Clubs and Activities At the beginning of every semester different clubs advertise themselves at Discoverfest ,here the students can receive information about the different types of clubs, sororities, and fraternities. There are a range of clubs that can fit many interest from those concentrated for academia to cultural clubs.
Great for these types of students For those who've forgotten their lunch the Associated Student Inc sometimes puts on a cookouts and luncheon which offers food and beverages for free. For those students needing extra resources such as mentorships, internships, the use of computers, printing, etc there are various resource centers located throughout the school such as the Asian Pacific American Resource Center (APARC), Chicano center, and the woman's center just to name a few.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus To some it may be odd, but for others it can be liberating and a stress reliever. Every year towards the end of the school year, students rush through the campus during the evening in their underwear in the underwear run. Campus police do show up, but are only there for student safety.
Bang for the buck For those students who want to enjoy the amenities of a gym sans the gym membership the student recreation center is great resource. There are numerous weight and cardio machines, raquet ball and basketball court, a weight room with punching bags, and an indoor track. The recreation center also offers a discount membership for non-students.
What to do for fun The Associated Student Inc lists all their events on their website. Every year they organize the spring concert with popular performers in the past including Jeremiah and Mike Posner, snow days, cultural shows, and fashion shows. There are also comedy shows and bowling in the titan student union. There are many sporting events for those who want to enjoy a game of basketball, baseball, etc.
Food and Dining There is a pub with beer available, a food court with choices from panda express, papa johns, carls jr., and a few other fast food places, and food trucks during promotional events that offer food from the local area. For those who want to enjoy a buffet style dining they can head over to the Gastronome which offers a wide variety of selections as a reasonable price.
Dorm Life There are newly built freshman dorms that are designed in a modern fashion. At night, it is one of the more beautiful areas on campus lit with lights and students walking about.
Academic Rigor Overall, the academic rigor of the school varies from major to major. For those in the communicative disorder major, it is highly competitive, so making friends will help when you are required to do some group work for classes. Also, having a study group is highly suggested as they can help with studying and reviewing notes from different classes.
Tips for prospective students Parking is a challenge try to carpool or take public transportation (i.e bus). Cal state fullerton gives students a bus pass each semester at the transportation office. Save money on books by renting them from the school's bookstore or see if the library has a copy available. For students in the Communicative Disorder programs, join the National Student Speech Language Hearing Association for field work opportunities.
In three sentences Cal State Fullerton is one of the most affordable universities in southern California. While many of the undergraduate/graduate programs are in need of a revamp, the school works to innovate with its nursing program and continues to do so with its highly rated business program. Bang for the buck School in general is quite expensive, but with scholarships and loans you can make it by and in the end it'd be all worth it.
What to do for fun There are events going on all the time, especially during the winter break when the holidays are coming up. Also there are so many clubs that it'd be impossible to be in all of them.
Food and Dining There are some food trucks on campus, along with a cafeteria with a few different kind of fast foods like baja fresh, panda express, and round table.
Dorm Life I live at home and commute there.
Academic Rigor College in general is hard, but all you need is focus and discipline to stay on task and study right. Of course you have to take some breaks and loosen out a little, but in order to succeed, you have to be serious when needed.
Tips for prospective students If you're looking for a nice campus with great opportunity, CSUF is a great choice. People around there are nice and there are events happening all the time. It has a great environment to study and is just a great school in general.
In three sentences Very exciting and lively all the time, especially around the holidays. The teachers are amazingly helpful and willing to take their time to help you in anyway they can. Also the campus itself is very nice, clean, and like a little park.

Categories Comments Campus Safety We recently had a campus lock down and I am amazed at how CSUF handled the situation. They really do make sure all students are safe and informed during and after the situation. I have always felt safe on campus and I give campus safety the highest rate.
What to do for fun For fun you study (: kidding. For fun there is a variety of things to do. There are always parties the Greek clubs host; surrounding college campuses (UCI,Northridge, Fresno, Los Angeles) host parties and invite CSUF students. If you do not party, there is a lot to do like community service, CSUF has a underground bowling alley, many night clubs and bars around the area, and many more.
Food and Dining There is a variety both on campus and off campus. We have a big cafeteria with small coffee shops on campus. There are large chain restaurants right across the street from campus also. Everything is walking distance.
Dorm Life I do not live in the dorms but CSUF does have dorms that are 2 years old and, from what I have seen, they are incredible. Everything is new and things run very smoothly in the dorms.
Academic Rigor Some classes here are kicking my behind but that's what college is for, right? All instructors I've had so far have been great and you really do learn something new after every class. Make friends in every class and make study groups to help you be successful. Also, talk to your professors and visit them during their office hours.
Tips for prospective students Get involved on campus! Many times students become busy with work and school assignments but getting connected with others is very important. Build friendships, join clubs, ask questions, and take advantage of all the resources provided.
In three sentences California State University, Fullerton is an amazing campus with much to offer its students and community. There is a vast variety of degrees offered, opening the door to many opportunities. Overall, a great place to grow as an individual and academically.

What to do for fun Go to Downtown Fullerton, there's always something to do, especially at night.
Tips for prospective students Get to school before 9:00 if you want to park.
In three sentences Parking is horrible. The financial aid office is a disaster. Buildings are all old and need renovation. And the 4 year graduation rate is 16% which is ridiculous. Pick another school.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students The art program is really good and various types of art classes help those still unsure about which direction to go!
What to do for fun Work out at the SRC, bowling alley, art galleries, go to a concert, walk around the Arboretum.
Food and Dining The Student Union has a great variety of food, so it's perfect for those who aren't quite sure what they want to eat. There are also food trucks - food trucks!! - on campus, which is pretty exciting.
Tips for prospective students Get a map! Know what classes you want to take.
In three sentences It is such a big campus and I'm an art major, so I'm only in the Visual Arts building, but I don't even know where anything is! People seem very helpful.

Clubs and Activities There is a huge amount of clubs available for different cultures or interest.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus There is a statue on campus that is broken down into pieces but they say if you rub it before a big test its good luck.
Bang for the buck The classes and knowledge you can accumulate is great for all the classes being taken and reasonable amount.
What to do for fun There is a bowling alley, rock climbing, sports events, and recreation center all available for students.
Food and Dining The food is very delicious with a very of different places to eat like Carl's Jr or Panda Express.
Dorm Life Dorming allows you to be on campus and be involved and make friends.
Academic Rigor The classes at CSUF are great mainly because your challenged and the teachers explain things in real life situations for a better understanding.
Tips for prospective students If you are going to attend here, I encourage you to make friends and join clubs because the more people you know, the better the experience. The classes are challenging at times and I also encourage students to ask for help. Many classmates join study group or tutor and the professor has certain office hours to answer many questions.
In three sentences I am currently attending California State University of Fullerton and I am happy i decided to go here. There is a variety of different opportunities with getting involved on campus or even getting help with classes or information. Categories Comments Campus Safety We have a police station attached to the campus.
Clubs and Activities The only one I belong to is NSNA (national student nursing association) and it is amazing. I now there is pretty much a club or association for basically everything (nationality, sports, etc)
Great for these types of students Hard-working, motivated, friendly, and smart.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The reason we are Titans and our mascot is an elephant is because there used to be elephant races on the property, before the campus was built.
Bang for the buck It is expensive, but it is worth every penny. Just keep in mind that you are paying for your future career.
What to do for fun Make new friends, go to the student gym, or library.
Food and Dining Just like everywhere else. Mostly fast food places like Baja Fresh and Panda Express.
Dorm Life I do not live in a dorm so I said 3/5.
Academic Rigor I can only tell you about my area of study, nursing, and it is a very intense program. I love a challenge and this one is definitely one of the hardest.
Tips for prospective students You have to be independent and very motivated toward your educational and career goals!
In three sentences I rate this school as an A because there are a variety of students and the educators are all helpful and wonderful. I would recommend for anyone to apply here.

Categories Comments Campus Safety I've never felt unsafe on campus, there's always so many people around. we also have a police station on campus. Theres also emergency posts that you can press a button and talk to the police, there's supposed to be one visible from anywhere you're standing on campus.
Greek Life I'm not in a sorority, but I know people who are and we seem to have a pretty active greek life, especially for those living on campus or near campus. I would say our greek life isn't as big though, just because most students commute from all over
Clubs and Activities There's tons! Try archery, or glass blowing, sports, or ASI
Great for these types of students You can really choose what kind of student to be here. I've known students who only come in for tests and that works for them, but there's also people who seem to always be on campus for class, activities or late studying. It's up to you
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus A campus tradition is that during finals or tests, if you rub the fallen Statue of David's butt cheek you'll get good luck haha. I've done it and I got an A! Also there's snow day, in October they bring snow into the quad and you can go sledding. There's also the annual spring concert in may, last year we had Mike Posner and Hunter Hayes.
Bang for the buck This is probably one of the better cal states in my opinion, especially for visual&performing arts, and business. Dorming is really expensive, but its going to be like that pretty much anywhere you go.
What to do for fun Like I said, get involved in activities on campus, but for off campus there's tons of stuff to do. For food, go to Thai Basil or Sansai, there's a good boba place called Quickly's too. Downtown Fullerton is good for shopping and food during the day, and has a good night life. Downtown Brea is lots of fun too. There's lots of great concert venues and museums, and there's huntington beach and newport not too far if you have a car. But I would take the bus everywhere while i was dorming!
Food and Dining I mostly like the availability of the food. Some of the food was great and some was alright, but the dining hall was open from about 7am to 8pm, and then the late night cafe was open til 1 am. All within easy walking distance. You never had to leave campus for food. Also free coffee 24/7 during finals week!
Dorm Life I lived in the dorms my freshman year and it was a pretty good experience. They just built brand new residence halls and a new dining facility buffet with a late night cafe. For double dorm rooms they're pretty big compared to some others that I've seen. And they're brand new so they're really nice. The apartments are okay, they're much older but they're also less expensive. I only dormed my first year because the new facility is pretty expensive. But finding apartments and off-campus housing isn't hard.
Academic Rigor Lower division GE isn't very challenging, but it's to the point and you learn a lot. I've really enjoyed my upper division though; there are some pretty obscure classes that make GE much more interesting. I've really been loving all my art classes for my major.
Tips for prospective students Get involved in campus activities. It's mostly a commuter school so the best way to meet people and have a great college experience is to get involved! There's tons of clubs, a huge student government, and fun classes at the gym.
In three sentences CSUF is diverse, challenging, and friendly.

Categories Comments Campus Safety There is a university police station right across the street from campus. There are different poles throughout the campus that have buttons you can push incase of an emergency.
Greek Life I am not involved in any sororities. They seem beneficial to people who love to party and lack science majors.
Clubs and Activities There is immense amount of clubs. Choosing and becoming an active member can be very beneficial. There is a discover fest each semester with every club possible on campus.
Great for these types of students Fullerton is perfect for any type of student. There is a place for everyone to fit in here.
What to do for fun We do have a lovely brand new recreation center. There is a bowling ally, and pub for students to attend.
Food and Dining The food places on campus are terrible. It would be more convenient if there were more healthier places on campus to eat. There is literally only one place on campus where you can buy fruit. Everything else is junk food and fast food.
Dorm Life I do not dorm at CSUF. It is mainly a commuting school, which is why parking is such a nightmare. Some dorm structures are nicer then others depending on how long ago they were built.
Academic Rigor A classmate of mine once told me, do not take courses, take professors. It was the best advice I have ever received. The material will only be difficult to grasp or understand depending on your professor and how much effort you put into your studies.
Tips for prospective students Beware of the expensive parking pass, and worst of all, looking for parking! Pay attention to the orientation, there is a lot of helpful tips for freshman that many of us take for granted. Always keep in touch with your professors and attend office hours regularly.
In three sentences California State University Fullerton is an excellent school with many opportunities waiting for students as long as they use their resources correctly. Fullerton is sometimes looked down upon because it is a cal state university, but many people are successful once graduated. There are several clubs, staff members, and guidance aids to help each student reach their career goals.

Categories Comments Campus Safety There is an on-campus police station available 24/7. There are also poles around campus with buttons to contact campus police in case something has happened or you don't feel comfortable walking across campus at night. There are always campus officers driving around as well.
Greek Life Lots of sororities and fraternities. They hold a lot of events and participate in a lot of community events.
Clubs and Activities There are a ton of clubs to choose from at Fullerton. It's always easier to join a club in the Fall semester, so that is definitely recommended.
Great for these types of students Students who like to party, enjoy Greek Life, visit the beach, enjoy Disneyland, and are pretty social. Academically, it is great for students interested in business, kinesiology, or theater/music.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus There's a broken statue of David on campus, and it's a tradition to rub the statue's bottom for good luck before a test!
Bang for the buck At Fullerton, you mostly get what you pay for. It's not very expensive, so you can't expect too much from it.
What to do for fun Basically the only thing to do is party. Disneyland is close, but if you don't have a season pass then you probably won't go often. Angels Stadium and the Honda Center are also just down the street, but that can get expensive as well. Not too far from Los Angeles or Hollywood either. Newport and Huntington are also really close, so that's always fun!
Food and Dining The gastronome is great. There are days when you won't like anything they're serving, but there are always pizza, burgers, etc. available. Has great fruit and breakfast, and always makes a lot of pasta! There are also a lot of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options.
Dorm Life Not a lot of students live on campus. Housing and residence life tries to put on events on the weekends, but usually only a few students show up.
Academic Rigor A lot of the teachers are very passionate about what they do. However, since class sizes are usually large there isn't really that feeling that the professors really want you to get to know you and see you succeed.
Tips for prospective students Join clubs and try to get as involved as possible! It's really difficult to make friends in classes because so many students are commuters, so clubs and intramurals are a great way to make friends.
In three sentences CSU Fullerton has a very large student body. Most of the students are commuters, so it is helpful to join clubs. You really have to try hard to make friends since most students leave right after their classes.

What to do for fun Take a hike.
Food and Dining Lots of food choices on campus, and within a very short distance. Both healthy and junky, based on your mood.
Dorm Life Dorm life is not something I chose to do.
Academic Rigor Classes are tough, but if you stay up on your homework it will be a more manageable process.
Tips for prospective students Be sure to meet with a counsellor, so you don't waste time in the wrong classes.
In three sentences This is a very nice school. I appreciate how close it is to my home. It has a beautifully diverse campus, both in student body and the buildings themselves.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Fullerton is a safe city and I strongly believe that all student at CSU Fullerton are kind and generous
Clubs and Activities I would love to join clubs and organizations to rich my school life.
Bang for the buck Cal State Fullerton is a cheap school with decent amount of resources and learning environment
What to do for fun For me, I would most likely hang out with my friends and go to the beach to enjoy the breeze. Also, I would like to sing and dance at my school.
Food and Dining I am not really interested and focused at food and dining, but one thing i can say is that CSU Fullerton won't serve me low quality foods and as always, I am hungry at learning.
Dorm Life I love living in the dorm! I can make a lot of friends which can practice my social skills and its great time to be independent.
Academic Rigor Compared to other schools outside of California, Cal State Fullerton is a cheap school considering the amount of learning, opportunity, and resources.
Tips for prospective students Time is money, grab your opportunity and make you moment shine. Take at least one extra class each semester. Set clear goals for each class.
In three sentences CSU Fullerton is surly a decent college to go to. The campus looks great and I had an awesome time talking with one of the professor.

What to do for fun There is a walking trail on campus if one has free time.
Food and Dining There are many types of foods. On campus there is a Carl's Jr. burger restaurant. The food around the campus can keep a student full while they study.
Dorm Life I currently plan to live off campus still living at school. However I do know that the dorms are close to the campus. Therefore the students are close to the school.
Academic Rigor One must have an eager will to learn. They must always be wanting to learn new things. Therefore perfect for the school.

Food and Dining There are several places to grab a quick snack or just a fulfilling meal.
Dorm Life I did not live on campas, but I have heard fantastic things.
Academic Rigor When it comes to the academic aspect it can be quite intense, but as long as you study you'll be fine as wine.

Categories Comments Campus Safety I would say that the campus safety is pretty good. There is literally a police station built on campus. The police and campus security are always driving around campus or walking around. Also, when you have a late night class you can look for these little blue poles and press a button and a police official will show up and escort you to your car. I feel very safe while I am on campus. Plus whenever there are serious events going on at campus the school will notify you through your text, email, or a phone call.
Greek Life I do not know much about the Greek Life. However, during Rush Week you get the chance to look in to sororities and fraternities and see which one appeals to you. The Greek life students do hold a lot of activities during the school year.
Clubs and Activities The school offers a lot of clubs. However, they really don't advertise them only a few clubs actually have posters on campus. Usually you have to look them up. During Rush Week most of the clubs come out and will inform you about the club and give you information. I feel that clubs on campus could promote a little bit better.
Great for these types of students I feel that this school is great for any type of students. If you are interested in majoring in nursing or business this is a really good school. For both majors CSUF has got great feedback on.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus One tradition from CSUF is the underwear-run. It takes place when finals are over. During the night you basically get to run around the school with your underwear on. It is pretty fun especially when you go in a big group with your friends.
Bang for the buck There are times when the school seems pricey. For example one semester parking pass for school is $220. For two semesters at school you will pay $440 for parking alone. Which I feel is ridiculous and it's not a guarantee that you will even have a parking spot. The tuition can get kind of crazy when it goes up. However, the money goes towards the free health care center and free gym on campus which is pretty beneficial for CSUF students.
What to do for fun You can always check out the Underground it's located right under the Titan Student Union is where all the food places can be found. The Underground has a bowling alley, pool tables, and some arcade games. Hanging out there with some of your friends is pretty fun. You can also check out the arboretum which is located next to the dorms. It's full of trees, ponds, ducks, and squirrels it's a nice place to hangout with your friends and have picnic.
Food and Dining Food on campus is pretty good there is a Carl's Jr., Togo's, Round Table, and Panda Express. Food on campus can be kind of pricey sometimes it's better to just get food off campus. There are a lot of places nearby school such as McDonalds, Del Taco, Denny's, and many others.
Dorm Life I never lived on campus. However, a lot of my friends did and they said they really enjoyed the experience. The dorms usually have a lot of fun activities during the first few weeks of school mainly so people can mingle. During the school year the dorms usually have some sort of weekend activity going on. The dorms are pretty nice and are decently sized.
Academic Rigor The academics on campus are pretty good. I feel that most of the teachers I had were easy but I did have my share of challenging ones as well. If you can manage your time wisely, take good notes, study hard, do all your assignments, and show up to class you will do great. Most of the professors on campus are highly educated and when you ask them a question they will really break down the topic for you. The classes offered at CSUF are pretty interesting and you do learn a lot from them. Just make sure that when you register you jump on it because classes fill up super fast.
Tips for prospective students Take advantage of your professors office hours. They are super helpful especially when you are having trouble understanding a concept in class or when you want to have your professor check out one of your assignments before you turn them in. Also during the first few weeks of school make sure you come to campus earlier than the time your class starts. Parking at CSUF is a nightmare during the first few weeks if you come last minute you will be searching for a parking spot for what seems like an eternity.
In three sentences I can say that California State University is very nice and kept up. The school has very educated students. The school is also very laid-back and gives off a positive vibe.

Greek Life It is big depending on who you are and how involved you what to be in the school.
Clubs and Activities There are many clubs to choose from. Not to mention the people are very nice and well coming.
Great for these types of students If you are a outgoing person it is good to live in dorms and find plenty of things to do on campus.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus I love walking around and seeing the beautiful location and buildings.
Bang for the buck You get everything you could ever want or need foe what you pay. It's reasonable since it is our campus.
What to do for fun There are plenty of fun things to do. It's an amazing place to be but also the city is so lovely and beautiful you will find your way around doing something fun.
Food and Dining The food is out of this world. So far I have had pizza and the sandwiches and I am amazed every time.
Dorm Life There are very nice buildings. There is not a lot of space but what you have should work.
Academic Rigor It's very complicated but you get lots of good help.
Tips for prospective students You need to get involved to feel welcomed into the community and get to know what's going on.

Categories Comments Campus Safety This campus for the most part is very safe. We have campus safety that passes around the parking lots several times during the day to take care of your cars. Our on campus police walks around the campus to make sure everything is ok; they are well prepared for any emergencies that might come up.
Greek Life The Greek Life here is not as apparent as it is in a college setting film. There are some fraternities and sororities you can join. However, their homes are not located on campus so the campus police does not pass around to see what is happening.
Clubs and Activities There are several clubs to choose from. There are several clubs that deal with an individual major as well as there are clubs which allow people from all different fields of study to join. There is a plus to joining these clubs. When you join you get to know the faculty of your department which allows you to get letters of recommendations and to be nominated for several scholarships. However, you do have to pay a fee to be a part of the club but joining one is so worth it.
Great for these types of students This campus is perfect for students who are interested in commuting to and from school; this campus is close to most of the southern California counties. In addition this school is good for the introverted students since it is smaller than a UC and buildings are easier to find. Plus, once this student starts taking major courses you start to see the same people and befriend them.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus One unusual tradition would be that of rubbing the butt of a broken David's statue near our library during finals week. It is said that if you rub the butt you will pass your finals and your courses. An unusual location on campus would be the Arboretum where you get to see different species of plants that are not common here in California; it is so big that you feel that you are in another world.
Bang for the buck Tuition here is a lot cheaper than it is at private universities and at the UC's. There are several general education courses to choose from that when you find a course your interested in you get a lot out of that class. You learn a lot of material in a small amount of time.
What to do for fun For fun you can go to the basement of the TSU building to bowl, play pool and watch TV. You can even go to our gym and take some dance classes for free. We have a pool and tennis courts to play. In the quad the school tends to have several events in which students can participate in such as contests, games and free food. You can also go to the Arboretum to enjoy the scenery and get to see some unusual plants and trees.
Food and Dining There are several places in this campus to choose from for eating a meal. The first place would be at the TSU which has distinct fast food chains to choose from. We have Panda Express, Baja Fresh, Togo's, Juice it Up, Round Table Pizza, and a small cafe place; there's food for every type of person. You can even bring your own food from home and use the microwaves located inside the TSU. In addition we have several vending machines and convenient stores around the campus so you can get some snacks and event instant foods. In Langsdorf Hall we have a wrap and sandwich place. There are cafe locations in the campus where you can purchase Starbucks coffee as well as some food trucks. Lastly we have the Gastronome which consists of an all you can eat buffet for the price of eleven dollars and a Carl's Jr. In the end, there are several choices so that you don't have to eat the same thing every time.
Dorm Life In the dorms you can meet several people from different parts of the state, the country and even the world. Living in the dorms allows you to create long lasting friendships with your roommate as well as it creates cultural awareness since we have students from different cultures; there's a lot of diversity. Living in these dorms is a lot cheaper than dorm life in the UC's and it even comes with a dining plan where you can eat at the Gastronome of a smaller cost.
Academic Rigor The lower division courses are doable if you take good notes and do all of your homework. Some of the upper division courses are very challenging but if you take good notes, go to your professor's office hours, and organize study groups then you can at least pass the course with an average grade.
Tips for prospective students Be prepare to work harder with some courses than you did in high school. Take note of your professor's office hours; they will come in handy for some of the harder courses. Be open to taking general education courses that you at first don't think you will like; you just might end up enjoying these courses. Know who your counselor is so you can better prepare your schedule and the time in which you want to graduate in. If you have done well in school before than you will do fine in this university.
In three sentences CSUF is a school in which professors are willing to help a student with their subject outside of class. The professors there want you to get something out of their class even if you are not fond of the subject. This university gives you several options for your general education courses; these courses allow the student to be well rounded and to discover what they are actually interested in.
