Always check your student portal for updates and to do's once a week, if not daily, so you don't miss any deadlines. Also, if you have questions, don't hesitate to contact them. They're a big help and the staff are more than willing to help.

Do as much research as possible for all classes and Professors that you are interested in taking. Talk to past and present students look up online. Because a Professor can make or break a student. Plan ahead don't let that happen to you.

Don't look down on the CSU just because it is a state school, CSUSM has so much to offer, if you only give it a chance. A smaller school than its competitors (UCSD) CSUSM really offers the best classroom setting. The students learn to be around each other and learn from one another and the teachers are ALWAYS there to assist,. they even know you by name! :)
