Categories Comments Great for these types of students This college is great for students that didn't want a huge campus, but they don't want a small community school either. Any student that loves to get involved in their campus will love this school.
Tips for prospective students I encourage all prospective students to tour the campus because thats how I fell in love with it.
Bang for the buck The college is very student oriented. They try to help their students not only pay for college, but they help them get the most for their money.
Am enjoying being here The weather is nice and the campus is beautiful. The ducks and geese add character to the campus. The people are friendly and the whole campus has a home-y feel.
Am learning a lot The staff is always very helpful here and the Professors are knowledgeable and attentive. They create a great learning experience that allows the students to excel.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students If you really want to just get out and want a new scene or if you want a peaceful small school its perfect.
Tips for prospective students Come check out the campus see it you like it. Once you've decided to come here make sure to get involved on campus it opens so many doors. If you can I highly advise doing Student Leadership Program during the summer you'll meet so many new people. Also make sure you go to as many events at school because all the events we put together it's for the students and you're paying for it through ur student fees so get your moneys worth by going.
Bang for the buck Since the school is very small it's as if your paying the price of a public school but the quality of a private school. The school really tries to get the most out of the budget. If you go to most of the events on campus you will totally get your moneys worth.
Am enjoying being here I love being at Stan State. The campus is small and cute. Its like a little taste of nature. It's a very relaxing place. Sometimes when I want to relax I go for a walk or sit by one of the many lakes and just look at the ducks, geese and all the trees. Not a crazy campus. Great place to focus on school. The people here are great they're pretty welcoming and friendly. The dorms are in gated community so it's very safe. There isn't a lot to do especially on the weekends but if you have friends its fun to just hang out. For me it's been the best decision I've made.
Am learning a lot All the classes are small so students get a lot of one on one with their professors. Professors are very easy going and approachable they are always willing to work with. Students just need to talk to them. We have tutoring center that is for free for students to use so there's always somewhere to look for help. There is so much to learn not just inside the classrooms. There are a lot of different organizations on campus that a great for networking and lots of leadership programs available for the students. It's a great school.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Liberal Arts majors looking to accreditation, pre-nursing program (impacted), Theatre Arts majors (I would know!), commuters, and students who are still trying to figure what it is they want to do with their lives.
Tips for prospective students Tour this school. Stepping onto campus may make you fall in love with it. Also, talk to advisers and counselors to see if the programs available would suit you. CSU Stanislaus is a very good place for people who have a lot passion for furthering their education. Get to know the professors, they are wonderful!
Bang for the buck Less than $5,000 for the year? Yes please! Why pay a school the amount you would pay for your first house when you could easily attend a University for only a little more than a junior college.
Am enjoying being here The campus is beautiful! There a tons of trees. It is very well kept up and they are constantly improving.
Am learning a lot As a student in the Theatre Arts program, I have learned a lot about my craft. The small size of the school allows for more learning opportunity and a hands of experience with your chosen field.

Categories Comments Campus Safety the best!!! i feel protected.
What to do for fun well many of the students live the bad life. i mean they go out and they party and what not, but i'm actually the opposite of this. i am a calm guy who loves playing soccer. so most of the time you'll see me playing soccer. i play in two teams in school(intramuals). i also play video games.
Food and Dining here we have many options of food places and dining. we have the village cafe witch is personally only for dorm students, which is pretty cool and the food is not that bad. also we have the main dining where i often go. there, the food is great. and we have pop's and mom's as well. over all the food is amazing.
Dorm Life the dorms here are excellent. even though they are really expensive it is more convenient. there are lots of benefits if you live here.
Academic Rigor my best bet for the campus academic rigor is really good. i mean all the staff are really helpful and most of them know how to help and attend your needs. same goes for the students, there behaviors of learning are those of positive ways and thinking.
Tips for prospective students some tips would be to try hard in school. the main point is to never give up and never stop. keep trying and trying until you reach your goals.
In three sentences well, this school is amazing. it makes me feel like i'm home and i really love it here. i couldn't chose more wisely than this.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Those who love a smaller size campus than most colleges, then this is the college for you to go to. If you are someone who is having a hard time adjusting to living on campus or learning how to cope with classes, the faculty and students are very helpful when it comes to these situations
Will enjoy being here I fell in love with the place as soon as I set foot on the campus. It's a good size campus. The rooms are excellent and everyone is really friendly.
Academic Rigor Being that it is my first year of college, it is difficult to determine the value of education that I will obtain while attending Stanislaus. While most of the teachers that I have already had were fine, I see my education being rather short. Due to a lot of budget cuts in all the CSU's, the quality of education for all students have been short-changed. While I learn a lot while attending classes, it makes me wonder if I'm going to learn enough.

Categories Comments Campus Safety If you ever feel unsafe in any way you can have an escort with you.
Clubs and Activities Clubs for anything!!
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Stanislaus has a tradition called Worrior day where we show our school spirit with a huge carnival and music performances.
Food and Dining Good stuff. Starbucks and delisious food in the dining hall
Academic Rigor Teachers are interested in you understanding and passing courses. Take advantage of tutors you aren't going to understand everything all the time and thats okay.
Tips for prospective students If you are a transfer student I suggest visiting the school and seeing a councellor to make sure you dont repeat any classes or take more than you need. For incoming freshman make sure u look closely at your classes to get done faster. Good luck!
In three sentences I love this school. Small classes and teachers that are friendly and willing to help you in any way they can.

Tips for prospective students Read your textbooks, and take notes on what you read in your textbooks. Study your notes every day.
Bang for the buck This school is not as expensive as the other California State Universities and the Universities of California.
Am enjoying being here I like being here because it is a peaceful area where i can relax.
Am learning a lot The teachers teach skills that are useful in the real world. The teachers also tutor the students when they need help.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Great for people who are very determined upon their work and what they would like to accomplish, but also likes to have fun when the hard work is done.
Tips for prospective students This school offers everything you really want. If you want to party, the school is known for their Football tailgates. If you don't want to party, there is plenty of ways to have fun otherwise and the overall attitude of the campus is to be courteous and friendly to one another. No one will judge you or make fun of you for the way you are. This is an amazing school and everyone here is friendly. Just make sure you know when and how to do your work. That's the reason why you are going to college!
Bang for the buck As compared to what some of my friends are having to pay for their CSU room and board, my is really affordable. And the on campus apartment I live in is very nice! About $3500 for a single bedroom in an apartment with a full kitchen and living room. Only shared with 4 other people. There is also so many free activities such as movie nights, free movie rentals, free air hockey, pool, ping pong, Foosball, and much more!
Am enjoying being here The area is really nice. Great Weather! It is located in downtown San Jose but everything is kept really clean and safe.
Am learning a lot The teachers here are very good at what they do, and they really want you to succeed. So far all of my teachers have offered to help me whenever I needed it, via email or going to their office. There is also so many free tutoring programs on campus you lose track of how many there really are.

Dorm Life I have not stayed in the dorm.
In three sentences California State University, Stanislaus is the smallest campus in the CSU System, but it's size allows for small group setting. It is a public school but is able to offer all the benefits of a private education. CSU Stanislaus offers baccalaureate degrees in the liberal arts, sciences, business and education, as well as teaching credentials, masters degree programs, and other professional studies. I feel home in this school

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Students looking for a very student oriented campus. A campus that is moderate in size, not too big or overwhelming and is very nature oriented. In a modest community.
Tips for prospective students Check out the campus ahead of time to make sure it is what is right for you. Also remember school is the number one priority but also remember to make it an enjoyable college experience. Try to meet new people by joining an organization on campus.
Bang for the buck A great learning environment and everyone is always willing to help you have a wonderful learning experience. There are many organizations to join that can help to make your college experience that much better. They do what they can to help you with all your financial needs. They also provide many opportunities for you to get involved on campus.
Am enjoying being here The surrounding community is wonderful as well as the people. Everyone is very friendly and not only is the learning experience enjoyable but so is meeting new people. The campus itself is a peaceful environment.
Am learning a lot All the staff is very helpful especially the professors. They make it a comfortable environment for you so that you do not have to be afraid to approach them and ask for any help needed. A very student friendly environment that makes learning very enjoyable! There are also tutoring centers which have proven to be very helpful and a nice library with many places to study.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Students that don't want to go to a university with a big campus or a small campus. It's also very easy to get around the campus. Close to many great places.
Tips for prospective students Don't start getting lazy after Thanksgiving break because there is still Finals and other projects due. Also live in the dorms if you can because it is worth it. If possible don't buy books in the bookstore because they are expensive.Instead buy them online or used.
Bang for the buck The cost is going up next year but so are all State Universities.
Am enjoying being here There is always something to do. Even if there is no activities for the day there is a game room & many people to talk to.
Am learning a lot The professors are very helpful and they are all available during their office hours. Many opportunities to get extra help with tutoring available.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students I would say it is great for commuter students, but also students who want to live on campus.
Tips for prospective students Really research all the schools that you are thinking of and take campus tours. This school may not look that great in it's first impression, but if you give it a chance it will suprise you. The faculty is very helpful and want you to succeed. Most of the student population is extremely friendly and willing to help new students. We have good athletic teams to support and games are a blast.
Bang for the buck Unfortunately over the last couple of semesters the tuition has been increasing due to budget cuts, but that is the economy we live in now. This school is very inexpensive compared to others in the state. The main goal would be to get financial aid, which there are plenty of opputunities, you just have to go looking for them.
Am enjoying being here In the beginning I did not like this school at all. It was something that I was not used too whatsoever. It is not in an extremely large town and to the naked eye there is not much to do. It is a big commuter school so that makes campus pride a little non-existent, but you have to fnd the right group of people to be around. I got involved on campus and now attend almost all of the events and am enjoying myself tremendously. I love it now. GO WARRIORS!
Am learning a lot I am currently in my second year taking 20 credits at this university. Last year as a freshman I felt I learned, understood, and retained more than I expected to. This semester my classes are more difficult I feel that I am always learning something new. I feel that I have learned new ways to study and better understand how to read a professor and figure out their teaching style in order for me to do better in their class. The academics here are making me challenge myslef and realize I can do more than I think I am capable of.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students This campus is great for any type of student. It doesn't matter where you come from, or what ethnicity you are. This campus and the people here are very welcoming. It has a little place for everyone.
Tips for prospective students I challenge students to visit the campus and see it for themselves. I came here before my freshman year for a weekend event that Housing offers for prospective students and fell in love with it. But, keep your options open picking a campus is a big decision.
Bang for the buck Tuition is on the rise for all educational systems in California. Stanislaus, however is fairly cheaper then most CSUs. With the help of financial aid and scholarships, students will be amazed at how much financially help they can receive. Don't be afraid, college is worth the investment!
Am enjoying being here The campus itself has a very relaxing atmosphere which gives you that tranquility you need to stay focus in your studies. The beauty of the campus also is very pretty through all seasons of the year. Besides these there are various ways in which a student may be involved on campus to where they are able to connect with other students and acquire any help they need.
Am learning a lot The Professors here focus on helping their students succeed. Especially with the small class sizes, your comfortable enough to get that one-on-one help. Not only that, the campus provides a Tutoring Center free of charge which has helped me through out my difficult classes.

Categories Comments Campus Safety there are police on campus to ensure safety. it is not a rough area so the police are there to make sure that everyone are following the rules. the police provide great service.
Clubs and Activities there are sporting events to go watch and cheer on classmates. if you are unable to play on scholarship you can join the intramural sports. either way there are sport activities to get involved in some way or another.
Bang for the buck the school is very affordable as long as you qualify as an in-state resident. there are lots of opportunities on campus that you can never be bored. the books are affordable.
What to do for fun there are movies on campus to go see or student activities such as plays, music events, etc. the students on campus create their own entertainment, which makes socializing all the more fun. there are also intramural sports to join where you can play, exercise, and meet others on campus who share similar interests as you.
Food and Dining there are lots of places to eat around campus. they do have food on campus that is nutritious and fits the needs of everyone. it is a great place to eat a healthy or non healthy lunch in between classes.
Dorm Life i did not live on campus, but from the outside it looks really nice. the atmosphere is friendly with people interacting and activities constantly going on. also, they take good care of the presentation of the university which makes it all the more enriching experience.
Academic Rigor the classes are challenging but they are doable. it is good to be challenged so that it prepares you all the more for the real world of business and how things work. also, the challenges in the classroom are meant to enhance the student in their future career.
Tips for prospective students prepare to challenge yourself and take your time with each and every class. learn as much as you can from your instructors and experiences. open up and be willing to really dedicate yourself to the assigned schoolwork and finish to get your degree.
In three sentences csu stanislaus is a comforting atmosphere that allows any student to entirely focus on their degree. education is the most important when attending college and csu stanislaus makes that their mission statement. it is a place to expand your knowledge on your inner passions for life achievements.

Categories Comments Campus Safety i have to say the csu stanislaus has campus safety personnel driving carts around campus, especially at night time, to take you to your car. you don't even have to ask, they offer!
Bang for the buck my favorite part of the 'buck' is the student recreational center - it's big with plenty of activities scheduled for everyone's taste. also the health center offers easy to access services. those are two services i've used. your warrior card can also be linked to your washington mutual card for easier banking!
Food and Dining the city of turlock has a great array of food, cuisine, fast food and tastes for all. my personal favorite is panda south-chinese cuisine on monte vista avenue (same avenue of campus, a couple blocks down).
Dorm Life i have not lived in the dorms but i have seen them and scoped them out myself for consideration. the campus offers many priveleges for students living on campus including free copies, bbq, pool, additional recreational space and more. the rooms are spacious, neat and ergonamically friendly.
Academic Rigor for graduate students, the rigor can be intense depending on the number of classes of course. however, the professors really work with you as a student and understand that most of us work full time treating us as leaders - not students. that eases up the intensity. the homework; well that always depends on your challenge you're looking for.
Tips for prospective students there's a lot of history behind the existence of this university. i would recommend getting to know the history-it helps out a lot. not just knowing the campus but also the interesting facts behind it! i wont say it here since it's part of your research!
In three sentences the campus is very community oriented in respect to students and professors. it also gives a good reflection and resemblance of the diversity we have in the central valley, including the emphasis on careers that are on demand in its respective area.

Categories Comments Campus Safety we actually compete with somona state every year for safest csu. we have both public safety our university police department, and turlock police department on our side...two police forces working together to keep our campus safe!
Greek Life greek life was probably one of the greatest decisions i could ever make. no matter where you go, join a national greek fraternity/sorority! the bonds you make, the networking opportunities you are given and the fun you will have is priceless!!!<3
Clubs and Activities as i mentioned earlier, csu stanislaus offeres over 90 cubs and organizations on campus (including greek life). there is a club for everyone, but if there isn't, then you have the option of creating that club!
Great for these types of students csu stanislaus is a great place for studnets who are trying to find their independence for the first time, or if they're solidifying their adulthood. it is a small community but there is alot to offer and quite a few cool places, especially in dowtown turlock.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus i've never seen any unusual traditions, but alot of things that take place on campus occur in the quad because that's the center of campus and where most students hang out in between their classes.
Bang for the buck i believe stan state is pretty reasonable about the cost of things and how they go about charging people. also i think they do a great job at including a lot of costs into tuition so it's not a ton of small, annoying payments.
What to do for fun with the dorms they offer programs constantly throughout the month, and a lot of the events are going on during the weekend! also the school puts on weekend warrior program, where they take students on trips all over the central valley area. transportation is always included and the people you meet and memories you make are unforgettable!
Food and Dining the food and dining is delicious! the dorms food is made by the same company that makes the food on campus, so everything is very trustworthy! also the options that are provided here is unimaginable!
Dorm Life the dorms at stan state aren't like your traditional communial bathrooms, but instead they are apartment style, where all uperclassmen dorms have four individual bedrooms, a huge bathroom, good size common area and a full-size kitchen! as a freshman you ca have the option to go apartment style (with a kitchen) or suite style (without a kitchen). also as a freshman you can decide if you want your own bedroom, to share with one person or to share with two people!
Academic Rigor csu stanislaus is very difficult, especially in the science department. however, the professors here are all about the students and making sure that each person gets their one-on-one time. here at csu stanislaus the average class size is 30:1, while the average student to teacher ratio is 21:1! where else can you find that?!
Tips for prospective students one tip that i wish i had is to research the kind of things you are interested before you apply, then you can see what you are looking for and what schools offer what you desire. for example, i was interested in going greek, so when applying to schools, i made sure that they all had sororities with a diverse sisterhood!
In three sentences here at csu stanislaus you are provided a real college-life experience with the comforts of a smaller campus atmosphere. with over 90 clubs and organizations, there's something for everyone; not to mention 14 division ii athletic teams and over 100 majors to pick from! schedule a tour at http://www.csustan.edu/admissions/visit/ and see what being a warrior is all about! :)

Food and Dining i don't eat on campus.
Dorm Life i live off campus.
Academic Rigor Courses are designed to be challenging and to prepare students for all aspects of the intended career. The required reading is heavy to cover various perspectives.
Tips for prospective students If you ask a lot of questions, it will keep help you to be able to accomplish what is required and keep you from misunderstanding. The website is not always updated and can be confusing to navigate
In three sentences The courses are very challenging intellectually. CSU Stanislaus has competitive graduate level classes. The campus is large with many trees and small ponds with fountains making it a beautiful campus.

Dorm Life i do not live in the dorms but a friend of mine does and he says the dorms are quaint.
Academic Rigor great for those who are undeclared. various classes to find what interests you.
Tips for prospective students try to find a major you can stick with; something that will be useful in your career goals.
In three sentences csu stanislaus is great for those who wish to attend an easy going college with flexible schedules, work-study, and very helpful teachers. students here are easy to get along with. i recommend this school to those in the modesto, turlock, and merced areas who are looking to get into a four year csu.

Great for these types of students This school is awesome for everyone, it doesn't matter who you are, how old you are. You are sure to feel free to be you, and comfortable at this school.
Bang for the buck I interviewed the UC Merced next to my home to but choose to attend California Stanislaus State after careful consideration. I choose to drive 30 minutes a day to Stanislaus State, why? because it was $$$ less than a UC and it is beautifully laid out. when you compare all your loans, and what it costs to attend college, the cost differences between the two schools was unbelievable! I believe this school has the biggest bang for your buck! I am so glad I decided to attend CSUSTAN over any other school, Price wise is just a small part of it
What to do for fun Every month there is an outside get away activity for all the people who want to have fun to join in on, and if your afraid of people and feel you can't hang out with that many people, there is always special little events to do. There are get together and games to play in the dinning hall. Ski trips and rafting to do. Every month there is an activity posted for sign ups to go have fun. There is a park like setting if you just would like to sit outdoors and listen to the birds and the water falls and watch the ducks and geese you can do that to.
Food and Dining The food is exceptionally great! You can eat as healthy as you wish at an affordable price, with many day specials that are sure to tantalize your tastes and satisfy your tummy.
Dorm Life I don't live on campus, but many of my classmates do, and I see them all happy and well adjusted and pleased with the environment.
Academic Rigor Academically the staff is the best I have ever had the pleasure in learning from. The instructors are personal with you, and dedicate in giving you as much time with you as possible so that they can help you be successful. They are compassionate and dedicated people, everyone of them. If you want to meet with them they are always there for you. It is their goal to serve you to make this the best learning environment for your success.
Tips for prospective students I would recommend you ask as many questions as possible and don't hesitate to ask for help. Everyone on campus in every department is there for you and you only! There is no stupid question other than the one you didn't ask.
In three sentences This was the smoothest transfer experience I could have dreamed for. Everyone on campus has been completely dedicated in helping me meet my academic goals and making me feel at home. The entire staff on campus has been personally friendly and helpful with the main goal in helping me meet my educational and personal goals.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Campus security has provided emergency stations through out campus that alert for help if needed. University police also circulate the campus throughout the day and respond to calls immediately.
Great for these types of students Nursing students are highly recommended for CSU Stanislaus. there is an amazing nursing program offered for undergraduate student and student who want to receive there BS after being a nurse with an AS degree.
What to do for fun There are many different clubs to join on campus. Being an active part of the university will increase networking capabilities between professors, other students, and many organizations.
Food and Dining It can get crowded during the busiest lunch hour, but everything moves pretty quickly overall. There are many places where food is sold and is distributed around campus. The cafe sells burgers, sandwiches, and salads. The cafeteria sells a larger variety of different foods from Mexican to Italian to wraps and salads.
Academic Rigor It is a four year university, so professors really expect you to learn and apply what you learn on exams. The work load varies depending on different professors and courses, but dedication must be applied to pass each course.
Tips for prospective students Pay attention to deadlines, and check your student email constantly. All important e-mails will be sent to your student e-mail account, not your personal e-mail account.
In three sentences I give this school a 9 out of 10. It is a great school for people who enjoy a calm learning environment. The computer system is also extremely easy to navigate, so adding, dropping, and wait listing for courses is easy and user friendly. I would recommend it to anyone.

Categories Comments What to do for fun There isnt to much to do for fun in Turlock besides going to the movies, but the Student Union and Warrior Activities Center is constantly putting on activities.
Food and Dining The food is pretty good, but it can get expensive, especially if you eat in main dining, or the Warrior Grill often.
Dorm Life I love the dorms! I made some of my best friends while living in the dorms. There are always activities going on, and we were always getting to know eachother and hanging out.
Academic Rigor While some classes are easy, the majority of classes I've taken in the chemistry department and the psychology department are extremely challenging. The teachers expect a lot out of their students, but are always willing to help.
Tips for prospective students Joining clubs and intramural sports is a great way to make friends. The school is pretty small so after a while you will begin to know a lot of people and eventually everybody becomes a friend of a friend.
In three sentences Stanislaus is a very beautiful and peaceful campus, with plenty of new buildings it certainly feels like you get what you pay for. There are many programs and clubs to get involved in. The teachers are helpful and knowledgable.

Categories Comments Campus Safety There is an on campus police station. The campus is fairly safe.
Greek Life Even though there are Sororities and Fraternities they do not have houses, the city doesn't allow them to have houses. But that doesn't stop them from being close not brothers and sisters.
Clubs and Activities There are several clubs and activities that are available for every type student or major. The clubs that focus on your major are very helpful for you to reach your goals.
Great for these types of students If you are interested in a small school with not that many students in a classroom than this is your school. If you focus a lot more on your academics than your social life this is the school.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The campus has several ponds which come with several ducks and geese. The ponds are a nice place to sit next to when you want to relax and just hang out with friends, study, or just read a book, you can also go for a night walk.
What to do for fun Honestly, there isn't that much to do for fun if you don't have a car or other means of transportation. The city of Turlock, CA is small, but you always have Modesto not to far to visit to go to the mall. You may go to the movie theatre in Turlock, take walks around the campus, or go to parties that are held by the students.
Food and Dining The food and dinning areas are great. There is always something different on the menu. The only thing is you get somewhat tired and miss home cooked meals. Don't let that discourage you from eating on campus. The food is always warm. You can also order something that isn't already out.
Dorm Life The dorms are like your typical dorms. It is more like having an apartment, that you sure with other people of the same sex. The living environment is very free you can do what you want just as long as it doesn't go against the housing rules. Housing and Residential life helps you in any way possible, they want you to succeed in school.
Academic Rigor Your academics should always be number one. If you let your social life get in the way it will be noted. Professors are willing to help you out of class they have specific hours that they are in their office to answer any questions that you may have. The things you go over in class will be on test make sure to pay attention and attend class.
Tips for prospective students What ever you do don't get sucked into the social life so much. Your social life is what affects your grades. You need to study for every test, and do your homework on time. If a professor allows you to turn in your assignment more than once after they give you feedback make sure to do it. Everything helps.
In three sentences The school is small, which means small class sessions and more time with the professor. The campus is extremely lovely, in fact, people that live near by walk around the campus. Dorms are amazing the are more like apartments if anything.

Categories Comments Bang for the buck Although CSU Stan may be in a small town, and most may believe that there is not much to do for fun, this small town may surprise you. While getting a good education from a wonderful staff who is willing to help, CSU Stan can offer many fun activities and good times.
What to do for fun CSU Stan is located in a small suburb that has a beautiful downtown. The downtown sort of looks like a scene out of a movie. There are many places to eat and shop. Also, CSU Stan is not to far from San Francisco, which is a city that has many adventures to be discovered.
Food and Dining I know there might be rumors about the cafeteria food at colleges, but to be honest, the food at CSU Stan is quite good. The times that I have eaten at the cafe, the food has always been something new.
Dorm Life Dorm life at CSU Stan is wonderful. There are many benefits from living on campus, such as; free printing, a game room, a pool, fun activities, and a home and family away from home. Plus, unlike most colleges, students have the option of having a room to themselves, as oppose to sharing it with one or more persons.
Academic Rigor Although the work may be challenging at some points, the professors are more than happy to help you get through it. As long as the student continues to ask questions when they come across their mind, the academic part of college should not be too difficult.
Tips for prospective students Take advantage of the helpful staff who never seems to get tiered. Do not feel intimidated to ask an questions that you have, the staff is there to help you. Just keep in mind that no matter how much help there may be; no one can complete your education for you, you must be the driver of your education.
In three sentences CSU Stanislaus is a beautiful-green campus, located in a small suburb. The staff at CSU Stanislaus is amazing; every single time that I have called or walked in with questions: my questions were always answered quickly and correctly, the staff at CSU Stanislaus is always willing to help with a smile. Last, but not least, the campus is safe and is surrounded by many fun adventures: it is surrounded by several shopping centers, and is located not to far from San Francisco; a city that never sleeps.

Greek Life There are only three national sororities and two national fraternities. All the other ones are local. There are about fifteen fraternities and sororities.
Clubs and Activities There are over eighty clubs, you can also get involved in code red, which plans the school wide events.
Great for these types of students Students who want the experience of a private school, since it is small compared to others. Students who like to get involved. If they are want smaller teacher to student ratio. If they like nature because the campus looks like a big park with a lot of trees and lakes.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus There is the welcome back concert, which takes place the first month of fall semester and it is really fun. We have a performer and free food and activities for the students. We also have Warrior Day, which is in the spring before finals week and it is a bigger concert where most students g and have fun. There are many more activities. It is held on a Friday and classes get canceled for the day.
Bang for the buck Since it is a university, it is a little expensive. Most people there receive scholarships or some sort of financial aid. The university has a wide range of scholarships they offer for all sorts of students.
What to do for fun There are many events held on campus at different times, which are flexible with class hours. Usually, every Wednesday there is an activity in the quad and free stuff! There are events put on later in the evening for those who have class in the morning or afternoon. Many clubs and organizations have socials, which are really fun and you get to know a lot of people there.

Categories Comments Campus Safety It is pretty safe nothing to be worried about there are police on campus and the blue emergency buttons, located all around campus,if anything ever happens and you feel in danger the police can escort you wherever you are going.
Clubs and Activities Personally I haven't joined a club yet, but there are clubs who are always recruiting members you just need to talk to the president of the club.
Great for these types of students For those who are from suburban areas and love the sun and hot weather this is the place for you. There are ducks on campus whoever is a duck person would love this campus. As well as, those who want a small school and want to build a strong bond between professors and classmates.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The best place on campus I would say is at the second floor of the library. The view is incredible specially during the fall and winter season.
Food and Dining The main dinning hall is always serving fast food for breakfast there are egg omelet, and pancakes. For lunch they have pizza, subway type if sandwich and yes you can take the food out of the dinning hall. It is expensive though.
Dorm Life Next semester I wil be moving into the dorms I've heard that the RA's are great advisors, very friendly people. Also, it is close to the gym and you get to meet a lot of people.
Academic Rigor Since I went to a college prep high school I felt that personally I was challenged more in high school than in college. I'm not trying to say that college is a piece of cake because at points there are challenging times such as finals and essays, but there's help I had a tutor for my English class who helped me a lot. His feedback was so helpful that a passed my English class with an A. College is about doing the necessary work studying it so that when being tested it then is a piece of cake.
Tips for prospective students I had a tough time attending school events my first semester freshmen year because I couldn't afford living in the dorms so I commuted. I would advice that during the summer save up some money so that financially you are prepared to pay tuition as well as room and board. Get involve there is sororities and fraternities but there are clubs to join as well. The professors are there to help you and are always making an effort to help you succeed.
In three sentences California State University, Stanislaus is located in Turlock, California and is small school. The advantage of it being a small school is that one has the opportunity to get to know the people around them easily since it's a small campus. Though it is located in a suburban area there is a lot going on during the beginning of the school year.

Tips for prospective students Learn to communicate with your professors and establish good professional relationships that will benefit you down the road. Learn to manage your time wisely, learn to make academics your priority and not your social life.
In three sentences It is a relatively small school, in a great area. It's very affordable, and allows for very personal relationships with your professors. It is a great school overall for anyone wishing to attend this university

Categories Comments Campus Safety The school is pretty safe. Police are kind people. They look out for you.
Greek Life Fraternity and Sorority is big on campus
Clubs and Activities Clubs for your major.
Great for these types of students Students that aren't looking for a party school. Students that are looking for a relaxed college. Its much of a commuter school.
Bang for the buck The schools tuition is actually one of the cheapest of the CSU system. It is a beautiful campus and everyone is nice here.
What to do for fun There is a hookah bar off campus and there are some events they have in the quad during the day. They have a little grill on campus where students hang out at.
Food and Dining The food on campus is pretty good. There is a variety of things you can eat on campus. Th dorm food gets bored after a while though. The food can be a little pricey .
Dorm Life Dorm life is not what you would expect at a epic college. Not much partying. The people are nice though and you can meet new people by going to the events they have. They do have free trips to six flags and movie theater.
Academic Rigor The college curriculum is pretty straightforward. The professors are nice and most are there to help you. The science department has had bad stories about professors not bring helpful. I wouldn't recommend coming here for a natural science degree.
Tips for prospective students Get involved on campus because if you don't, you wont make many friends and won't enjoy the college.
In three sentences This college is a small diverse community. The class sizes are small and everyone interacts with each other. The campus is beautiful and quiet.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Small School = Small Crime
Greek Life The Greek life is pretty big on campus. Being that CSU Stan is a smaller school the Greek Life gets a lot more attention. There are plenty of nation and regional fraternities and sororities for anyone looking to join. Only bad part no houses.
Clubs and Activities There are many clubs to get involved in here. The clubs may not be as diverse and large like bigger schools, but if you want to get involved you can.
Great for these types of students People who want to go to college and still live at home. A large portion of the student body is local. People who want to get away from home, but want to attend a smaller university.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Warrior Day is the long standing tradition here. It is a concert at the end of the year. StanFest is a newly established tradition which consist of a community festival, and concert for the students.
Bang for the buck When is comes to bang for your buck it doesn't get much better than CSU Stanislaus.
What to do for fun Clubs and Organizations. Food. Friends. Greek Life.
Food and Dining This is one area I think CSU Stanislaus need to improve on. There is not much as far as on campus food options, being that a single company own's the food distribution rights on campus. But! within a couple blocks there is plenty of good food options.
Dorm Life Didn't live in the dorms, but had many friends from who did. Seems like they enjoyed the dorm life a lot. Housing is constantly putting on events for students in the dorms. Dorms are pretty nice, roomy compared to many other schools. Overall it's not a bad option if you can pay for it.
Academic Rigor I am somewhat biased to non-science classes in this area since everything else is easy compared to science courses. I think this school on par academically with any other CSU or UC. Plenty of challenging course and some not so challenging. There are many great professors in each field, and very few bad ones.
Tips for prospective students Get involved in student life. CSU Stanislaus has a lot to offer if you take a some time to get involved in on campus activities.
In three sentences Small commuter school. Somewhat of a hidden gem with many opportunities. Great education at a good (steadily increasing) price.

Categories Comments Campus Safety We were nominated as one of the safest campuses in California!
Greek Life One word, Amazing. If you are looking to find long lasting friendships then greek life if your way.
What to do for fun During the summer they have this SLP program and it is super fun, the last day everyone gets to go rafting and its FREE!
Food and Dining The food is good but it could be better.
Dorm Life I've never lived in the dorms but my friends have and they seem to like it.
Academic Rigor Some professor may seem to not care about your education but that to me is just a sign for you to try your best!
Tips for prospective students Join as many clubs and organizations, there is no better way to meet people than to make friends with the ones who believe in what you believe.
In three sentences CSU Stanislaus is a university devoted to the betterment of the students and faculty. It's clubs and organizations give the university life and a chance to bring everyone together. Professors may seem mean at times but they are only looking forward to your future.

Categories Comments Campus Safety There is always campus police around. After night classes they will even provide rides to the dorms and to the parking lots if requested.
Greek Life There is a small greek community and it can be very cliquey, even amongst the same organization.
Clubs and Activities There is a lot to choose from but it is difficult to figure out when they meet. Many are selective as well.
Great for these types of students Great for people who want to get in and get out and do not dwell as much on social life.
Bang for the buck If you're involved with a club or organization there is a lot to do, if not it gets a little lonely.
What to do for fun This school is slightly in the middle of nowhere so there is not much to do, but if you do not mind the drive Yosemite is fairly close to go on a day trip.
Food and Dining Mom's or the Warrior Grill has good food, good music, and is a great place to hang out with friends or study. It is conveniently located in the center of campus as well.
Dorm Life I never lived in the dorms
Academic Rigor As for any school, some classes and teachers are extremely difficult, while others are not. It is not as simple as a community college or high school, but it is no where near as difficult as a UC.
Tips for prospective students Get involved. It is easy to get lost in college but having something to belong to will help you out when you need to have your home away from home.
In three sentences 7. It is a smalle school which makes class sizes small and you get more attention. However, signing up for classes and getting the ones you need is such a challenge.

Categories Comments Greek Life Greek Life is a dominant trait about this school. The center of the school, also known as the Quad, is packed with the greek's tables. Also, you can see many, many people wearing their fraternity's/sorority's letters.
Clubs and Activities There is a variety of clubs on campus from Geology to protecting the cats on campus. There isn't something that doesn't suit your fancy. I am currently in the Faculty Mentor Program which enables students to create a closer bond with the professors around campus on a much more personal level outside the classroom.
Great for these types of students This school is ideal for people who live near the town of Turlock and for people who are looking for an easier level of workload compared to UCs.
Bang for the buck This school is average when it comes to Tuition but the town itself is generally cheap to live in. The burden of coming up with housing isn't that big of an issue compared to many of the other state schools.
What to do for fun Outside the campus, there is absolute nothing but restaurants, but if you get involved on campus with clubs/organizations it makes up for it. By being involved, it makes it easier for you to know about fun events and gatherings.
Food and Dining There is only about 5 places on campus where there is food and they are all owned by the school. There are no outside vendors like Subway or Panda Express on campus. The food can get a little overrated but for the majority they have a lot to choose from.
Dorm Life The dorms themselves are structured like individual apartment complexes. The exit of the dormitory leads to the outside and not a jail-like hallway. Each dormitory has their own bathroom and shower space to up to 6 people. The Housing Staff is incredible because they make tons of events like field trips to Santa Cruz, Gilroy Outlets, and SF Giants games.
Academic Rigor The general education classes are interesting and tough but with enough focus and studying they are very easy classes to pass. When it comes to the major courses, it becomes a lot more difficult but with the same concept of enough focus and studying will get you a passing grade.
Tips for prospective students If you're looking for a great transition from high school to college this is the right school to go to. There is a small teacher to student ratio which takes it to a much more personal level. The advisers are very helpful on getting you to the right pathway and get you on the right track!
In three sentences This is a small-sized school that is mainly a commuter school. The campus is very appealing to the eye because it has 5 ponds, lots of trees, and the architecture of the buildings are unique. There is even some wildlife there like foxes, ducks, and geese.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Campus is safe and really nice. There are rare crime alerts on campus.
Great for these types of students If you're really into school and that's your priority, then you'll definitely want to be here.
Academic Rigor The professors range from really bad to really good.
Tips for prospective students If you are outgoing and you like to go out with friends, then you probably wouldn't want to be in Turlock. Turlock is a town only for people who are planning to go just for school.
In three sentences Stanislaus is a nice college and it has really wonderful surroundings. I would give this school a rating of about 5 out of 10. I am attending this college, but it really just isn't for me.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Own police, and students driving around all night checking. They are always int eh loop of all activities planed, and are ready before hand.
Greek Life They are big on philanthropy, and it shows with how many contacts they have.
Clubs and Activities They are active every semester with dunk your professor, and resume workshops. They will help you chose what classes to take and when to take them.
Great for these types of students Not just book smart but applying what you know to the field. All the knowledge int eh world will not prepare you for work if you cant do what you are reading.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus A relaxing tide pool, with a small fall away from classrooms, but near the dorm. This allows a close place to get away and relax between classes.
Bang for the buck The unit cap of 15 hurts because it limits how many classes you can take but keeps the price the same. Tough to get more units, but possible. Not Harvard cost, but certainly more than a JC.
What to do for fun The clubs host a weekly activities on the quad, and sports are playing every week or so. The library offers loan laptops and so many books you could play dominoes with the book cases.
Food and Dining THE BEST bacon cheese burger I have ever had. Lots of variety, and even preprocessed food for added sugar and no wait time. lots of places to sit, and great view of the campus. Food is made to order by a private catering company, and quickly served.
Dorm Life The fire alarm goes off a bit often but the room are clean. The spaces are snug but not confining.
Academic Rigor Very difficult classes, more so when you get into the specific sections. However, they are passable if you buckle down and ask the teacher questions. The teachers will help but will not give you a pity grade.
Tips for prospective students Get in touch of your clubs that are connected to your major, they know what classes you are going to take and need to take.
In three sentences A school that prides itself on classes that are rigorous, but prepare you for the field that you will be entering. The people are overall friendly, and want to help you. While you may groan going to classes, you will perk up once the classes going because they are interesting.

Categories Comments What to do for fun There aren't many thing to do for fun but there are a variety of clubs to join.
Food and Dining The food is absolutely horrendous. There isn't much variety and the dining areas available aren't very convenient.
Dorm Life There are some events that take place but the community isn't very close. The RA's need to be better chosen because they are not very good.
Academic Rigor Depending on the classes and professors that you choose the classes can be very challenging.
Tips for prospective students Make sure that you know how to find any information that you may need on your own because from the experience I've had the advisers are absolutely horrible.
In three sentences The campus is beautiful and the professors are great. The classes are small and the environment is comfortable. Administration and advisers have a lot of work to do to be considered even remotely good though.

Categories Comments Campus Safety I've never felt unsafe.. unless I parked off campus at night, but even then, just carry your keys in your hand all the time. In day time, no problems. There's even campus security to take you to your car if you want.
Greek Life There are plenty of them. Everyone can find their nitch, if they just ask around.
Clubs and Activities I never joined one, but I should have. This school has a lot to offer.
Great for these types of students Great for all students! There are fraternity's and sorority's, there's clubs, and study rooms for everybody.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus There's always something going on in the quad EVERY week, usually Wednesdays.
Bang for the buck Great school, academics, and people. 5/5 STARS!
What to do for fun They have a game room! Spend a few bucks for hours of fun on a table or with a console, or just hang out and watch tv for free!
Food and Dining There' a beautiful dining hall with great breakfast and lunch. There's actually several places around campus to grab a meal, snack, or coffee on the go.
Dorm Life I didn't live on campus, but the students that I know that do, really like it. :)
Academic Rigor I've always learned a lot in all my classes. Study hard and you will be rewarded.
Tips for prospective students Organize your schedule around your classes! It's tough to get in, ask your work to compromise, not your education!
In three sentences I love this school. There are a lot of ducks and ponds. Great professors.

Categories Comments Campus Safety I always felt incredibly safe on this campus. I walked around campus several times at the middle of the night and never had an issue. The campus police are always around and are very helpful. They also offer a self-defense class for students.
Greek Life Greek Life is great here! They try to spend a lot of time together. They have a lot of competitions with each other as well, like Greek Olympics. The Greek Life here will definitely keep you busy if you join. It also makes up a decent size of the students here.
What to do for fun Go to activities in the dorms or on campus. Depending on the group of friends you have, you may go out and do stuff around town.
Food and Dining The meal plan here is great! I had so many friends complain about how jealous they were about my meal plan. They seriously give freshmen more than you can possibly use. The food has good days and bad days. It seems to depend on the meal. They also have a convenience store on campus and two other meal areas to eat aside from the cafe for people living on campus.
Dorm Life I have been told the dorms are nicer than most California universities. They are set up more like an apartment building rather than the hallways most schools have. The furniture is nothing extraordinary but most, if not all, of them have kitchens included. Most of the dorms have individual rooms for the students. They also have multiple pools, a game room, and a computer lab just for students.
Academic Rigor The classes aren't too bad if you actually do work. There will be the occasionally teacher that has incredibly high expectations but most classes are doable. Most of the teachers are willing to work with you during office hours.
Tips for prospective students Be active on campus! This a commuter school, so it can be a little tough to make friends. The Greek Life here is a great way to be involved. It has also helped students get jobs on campus.
In three sentences This school has a beautiful campus. It is very relaxing to study outside with the ponds and trees surrounding the campus. The school is not very big, so getting to classes does not take as much time as other universities. The teachers are helpful and the students are friendly.

Categories Comments What to do for fun The town is quiet, so there is not very much open late at night, but the ocean, mountains, and major cities are within an hour and a half of California State University, Stanislaus.
Academic Rigor Most classes are fair, although some are quite difficult, if students take great notes and read the books, the classes are all passable.
In three sentences They have some of the best teachers at California State University, Stanislaus. The school ground is beautiful; it is surrounded by beautiful trees and magnificent ducks. This is a great university and they have one of the best Liberal Studies program.
