Grand Rapids is AWESOME! Home of ArtPrize, too many local restaurants to count, dates along the river, and Eastown. It is rated one of the best places to live in America.

Grand Rapids is a beautiful town that offers so many opportunities for fun! Great places to take dates, great places to hang as groups, Art Prize is an entire month of awesome activities all over the town. On top of that Calvin provides dorm activities every day, as well as campus wide activities every Friday and Saturday. There's never a dull moment and I guarantee you'll find SOMETHING to do every night if you step out of your room for ten minutes. Also, people here are very friendly and welcoming. If you are feeling like you have no one to hang with or eat with, all you have to do is pick a table, find someone you think is cute, say hello and you'll be welcomed to join their group nine times out of ten. That's the beauty of Calvin in a nutshell!

There are sports that you can join and even intramural s which are sports you join for fun instead of the competition. Not to mention the variety of clubs; there's even a anime club, which I am in, for people whop love Japanese cartoons. Although usually you have to pay attention the the student news or any and all poster boards to find anything extra that isn't always fully advertised. Or you can even chill and talk with friends at Johnny's or listen to live performances in the Fish House under Johnny's. There's even Buck Fridays for things that only cost a dollar if you don't wanna leave campus; also movies are shown every Friday or Saturday in the auditorium.

Calvin's a 10 minute run away from the Woodland Mall in Grand Rapids. ArtPrize goes on during September, and the Post Family Farm is close by for floor dates during October that include hay rides and apple cider. In the winter students can have snow fights or visit the nearby museums, and the Grand Rapids Symphony plays and students can get cheaper student passes ($5).
