Great for these types of students

Self motivated individuals will exceed here. You must be able to work under stress (this isn't a free ride). You will be in the middle of nowhere so being able to deal with that would be a big plus (there is a Walmart some 10 miles away, though). As for intended majors, Campbell offers plenty of different subject areas. Campbell is the number 1 law school in NC (so I've heard... but they're moving to Raliegh). Pre-Pharm students are abundant here as well.

    Tips for prospective students

Don't waste your money if you're comming here to squander your time (I can name some other colleges for that). Always take advantage of the open library (especialy when your finals come), buy your books early (finding them online instead of Campbell's bookstore will save you money, particularly when you return them to the bookstore), always use the gym at least twice a week (its free!), and most importantly, use the camel bucks towards the end of the semester (if you come to Campbell, you'll know what I mean).

    Bang for the buck

Campbell is EXPENSIVE to the financialy average family. However, the education is up to par, the food is decent (though you'll get sick of Marshbanks), there are plenty of recreational fields (for those with an athletic spark), and the scenery is very pleseant (especialy in the snow... which isn't to often).

    Am enjoying being here

Campbell is situated in a quiet area inbetween two small towns. I enjoy a serene atmosphere and if I want to do something, I can just pick a town to go to.

    Am learning a lot

There is a whole lot of nothing to do around Buies Creek, so learning is the next best thing... :)

Great for these types of students

Campbell University is great for all different kinds of students. I'm a science major, and the science departments at Campbell are great. The business, law, and educations majors don't feel left out either. Campbell is great for well-rounded education seeking students.

    Tips for prospective students

Campbell University is a great four-year private institution. It has five different graduate schools, including Divinity, Pharmacy, Education, Business, and Law. I have found my home as Campbell University for the next four years, I absolutely recommend the school. It's amazing.

Great for these types of students

Students who have a hard time focusing won't have an issue here cause there are not too many distractions. People who are looking for a small school with a lot of friendly people with a great sense of southern hospitality.

    Tips for prospective students

Campbell is a very good school. It is in the country but the people are very nice and you can find something to do if you want. The law, business and pharmacy programs are very prominent but everyone is included and no one feels left out. The school spirit is great and everyone is very helpful.

Great for these types of students

This school is great for any student looking for a very straight edge student body. You see girls walking around in nice outfits, while guys are sporting the polos and kakis. So if you are looking for a school with a dry campus, don't mind learning/ building a relationship with God, and looking for a vigorous course load, love the warm weather, and want to be surrounded by friendly people, come here! And this school is a Baptist school, but I am Roman Catholic and many people are also other religions/ or are Atheist. They don't push this Baptist faith on anyone so don't worry!

    Tips for prospective students

Be a good well rounded student. This school is getting bigger and better. It is a good school now but with the Physician Assistant major available starting the 2010-2011 academic year-this school will be getting more prestigious and harder to get in over the next upcoming years. Also I was reading this on the Campbell website that after each student took this National Survey of Student Engagement- more than 92% said their college experience was excellent or good!

    Bang for the buck

The school is a little over 30,000 but the school is very generous with scholarships. If you have over a 3.0 in H.S or college (if your a transfer) coursework you are most likely guaranteed a Scott-Elis or Presidential Scholarship. (Usually ranging between $6,000-12,000-my scholarship was 8,500 with a 3.18 college GPA.)

    Am enjoying being here

This school has so much to offer! And it's a great that it is a private school! (They have a lot of $!!!) They have trips offered to students all the time- trips to Hawaii, Georgia, Florida, NFL Panther games, etc. Also I love the fact this school is Division 1 with a football team, makes campus life more knit and it's very enjoyable to cheer on the Fighting Camels!

    Am learning a lot

The classes here are very challenging. I transferred here from another school and I finally know I am getting my money's worth. Professors are very nice and assessable with small classroom sizes. Graduating from Campbell University I will know and feel that I worked hard for my degree and will be able to excel in graduate studies. If you are looking into Campbell and looking for a school just to get by in I wouldn't suggest you coming here.

Great for these types of students

Campbell is great for students who like that small school feel. Also, if you like to attend sporting events, if you live on campus then you go to any of the home games for free, which is awesome. Campbell is for the students who like to be sociable, because here you will see the same people well over a few times a semester.

    Tips for prospective students

Make sure you go to your classes. Campbell is strict on their attendance policy, and they have failed students for not showing up.

    Bang for the buck

Yea the school demands a little bit more than other colleges, but it is a private school. Also it is a great school, well worth the money.

    Am enjoying being here

Campbell may feel like there is nothing to do, but I always have stuff that needs to be done. Then I always find something exciting going on at the campus.

    Am learning a lot

There is so much that I am learning that I'm having a hard time keeping up, but it's worth it.

Great for these types of students

Campbell is number one in pharmacy and has a great law school. hoped this review helped you make a decision

    Tips for prospective students

New students will now have a freshman seminar starting 2011-2012 school year. They'll have guest speakers consisting of faculty and current students. They'll learn things about Campbell that us current students had to experience first since no one told us.

    Bang for the buck

Yes this university does cost some serious dough but it is a private school. So make sure you have the money

    Am enjoying being here

I come from a same town as well so being out in the middle of no where isn't bad. It is however between two cities, to the North is Raleigh and to the south is Fayetteville both about 45 minutes away. It's a very friendly environment.

    Am learning a lot

I've learned a lot from my professors here at Campbell. Depending on your major you'll be very close with your professor or just casual friends, either way you won 't be a number here.

Great for these types of students

    Studious, self-driven, and goal-oriented students

    Tips for prospective students

Campbell is very EXPENSIVE but, the education is great! This is a great school to go to and it will definitely look good to future employers. We have nice scenery and it is a great Christian environment. Class sizes aren't overwhelming and the food is decent but you will get tired of it quickly.

    Bang for the buck

Though you are getting a great, quality education sometimes one may wonder where their money is going. For example, we have mediocre dorms for the price of them (except for the New Residence Hall which is fairly new and very nice).

    Am enjoying being here

I am enjoying the Campbell experience and it is what you make it out here. It's not much to do off close-by campus so you will have to find a way to occupy your time or join the many clubs we have on campus when you have down time.

Great for these types of students

Campbell is the school for students who enjoy southern hospitality, small campuses, and small towns!!

    Tips for prospective students

Start strong, study hard, and stay focused! Remember, someone is paying for your school, so keep the grades up!!

    Bang for the buck

Campbell is a private school, so it is more expensive than public universities. However, no price can be put on my education and my experience that I have had at Campbell. Most of the dorms have been remodeled, a lot of the campus is growing, the cafeteria food is decent, and everyone is welcoming. I'd say I am definitely satisfied with my decision to be at Campbell.

    Am enjoying being here

Campbell feels like home away from home. I feel welcomed everywhere, and the people are fantastic. Although it is far away from the big city, it really helps when it's time to hit the books! Raleigh is about 45 minutes away, so when I need a break from studying, getting away isn't too difficult.

    Am learning a lot

I am learning more at Campbell University than I have throughout my entire education. The professors are very resourceful, and they know how to make the students understand the material.

Great for these types of students

The school has a Christianity background and focuses on the importance of school and hard work so its not for the unmotivated or uncaring. Small student body, but not too small where you get tired of seeing the same people everywhere. Enough to keep you occupied here when you have free time.

    Tips for prospective students

Be ready to study, learn and have a good time. College is a once in a lifetime experience and Campbell is a great place to have it. Be sure to get involved in activities and all the events Campbell holds for its students. Just about every week there is something going on, mostly started up by CAB, so be on the look out.

    Bang for the buck

Campbell is an expensive school but there is a lot of scholarships and grants you can find. Campbell has a good Endowment program which is basically free money they give away so that helps. The quality of education and campus are great when compared to what you pay. You get what you pay for and you are getting top quality at Campbell.

    Am enjoying being here

Buies Creek itself is not the most populated or attractive place, but it is what you make of it. Campbell University itself has plenty of activities on weekdays and weekends to keep you busy if you aren't studying. It is also close to Raleigh and Durham so bigger cities are close. The people and opportunities at Campbell have made my time enjoyable.

    Am learning a lot

The class sizes are small compared to other universities and this allows teachers to be more personal with students. The classroom atmosphere is great for students and you can tell the teacher cares that the students actually learn the material. The professors know what they are talking about and are always willing to help you during or out of class.

Great for these types of students

I would recommend Campbell primarily to people who are interested in PGM, Exercise Science, Pharmacy, and Law. We have really big programs for all of those here, and you will definitely be taught what you need to know. Being involved in the science department, I can speak for the Pre Pharm curriculum and say that it is just what I needed to help prepare me for Pharmacy School!

    Tips for prospective students

Get involved! Make as many friends as possible at scholarship competitions, orientations, and activities in the first semester. The friends you have really are a big factor in what kind of experience you're going to have. Campus Activities Board has a club for just about everything so it's easy to get plugged in to something early on in the year. Club and intramural sports and any of the campus ministry groups are also really popular ways on campus to meet new people.

    Bang for the buck

Without scholarships, Campbell can be pretty expensive but it is definitely worth it. I have learned so much and wouldn't trade schools for anything. The small campus is easily accessible from just about anywhere, which is something that really makes it stand out for me because you won't find that at a larger school.

    Am enjoying being here

To be honest, college was hard to adjust to at first, but after I became acclimated to the college scene and the campus, I really started to like Campbell. The second semester is way better than the first, but I have had an awesome first year overall.

    Am learning a lot

To keep good grades, you're going to have to do a lot of studying, but it's worth it. I have learned so much while I've been at Campbell, and the teachers I had were awesome. They've really made me want to pursue my major by making it interesting.

Great for these types of students

Campbell University has a fantastic PGM program (so I hear). If you're interested in golf management then you're probably already on your way. We've also got one of the best pharmacy schools and law schools. Basically, if you're trying to make a lot of money one day, Campbell is here to help!

    Tips for prospective students

Get involved with the clubs. I have made so many friends by doing that. College is all about finding yourself, so you definitely need to get involved. No matter where you go!

    Bang for the buck

Campbell is a little pricy but that's what you get when you go to a private school. Scholarships are great and they offer a ton of money, you just have to find it. I'd say it's worth it though.

    Am enjoying being here

I love the atmosphere here. If you think you might enjoy a smaller campus, this is the school for you. It is so easy to get to know people; everyone is nice. Your friend group will be gigantic but you will have a close relationship with each person. It's great!

    Am learning a lot

Definitely learning a lot. There are a lot of prerequisite classes you have to take at Campbell, but that's going to pay off in the long run. It'd be nice to be able to get into my major sooner, but the extra classes aren't too bad.

    Will enjoy being here

I am truly looking forward to attending Campbell in the fall. They have so much to offer. The campus is beautiful and renovations are still being made. The administrators that I have met were very kind and you really do get the feeling that you matter. My favorite thing was that the campus was small and that it was a christian-based school. It is just a wonderful place to be!

Great for these types of students

Someone who likes small classes, personal time with professors and a small community where almost everyone knows everyone. Even though this college is classified as a Baptist private college that is not all that it offers. So even if people aren't religious this is still a great college.

    Tips for prospective students

Do not get so bogged down in studies that you do immerse yourself in Campbell culture. Join the clubs, go to the sporting events or the fine arts events.

    Bang for the buck

People see the tuition cost for Campbell and think, do I really want to pay all this when a public school is cheaper? Campbell actually gives out a lot of scholarships. Your initial scholarship package is just the beginning there are endowment scholarships that are given out ever so often. The teachers are great and so are the facilities. Campbell is always renovating!

    Am enjoying being here

There are many ways to get involved on campus. Campbell tries to keep their students busy so that they do not get in trouble with such things as alcohol. As for what to do around Campbell there is not much. There are a couple of parks to go to during the spring time(Raven Rock is great).

    Am learning a lot

The professors here actually know how to teach to learn not just to teach to a test. A big plus is they know who you are which is really important when it comes to your grades. If you show interest in getting great grades any professor will help you. The tutors at the school are not too bad either.

Great for these types of students

Campbell is great for students who want a challenge, who are motivated, want a small town feel and want to have a relationship with the professors.

    Tips for prospective students

Always read your textbook and do work before it's due, don't wait until the last minute.

    Bang for the buck

You get what you pay for here!!

    Am enjoying being here

I love being here. It is a quiet campus and doesn't have the distractions of the city. However, there is always something to do on campus.

    Am learning a lot

The professors here are very help and are truly interested in seeing you grow as a student and a person.

    Campus Safety

There is always security around even late at night, Campbell University is always secured. Not only is security on point but every resident hall or lobby requires an updated id to ensures no one that does not belong can get into the buildings.

    Clubs and Activities

Campbell has plenty activities to chose from. There is free zumba and other exercising classes along with plenty of group bible study groups that meet. There is always some activity not only hosted by the school but by personal dorms for the people living in them.

    Food and Dining

The food in the the dining halls have their good days and then the food becomes repetitive after awhile. The breakfast food is always good for people who do not mind getting up in the morning. The great thing about Campbell is that you do not have to rely on just the dining halls but there are plenty of other campus restaurants like Papa Johns, Chic fil a, Jole Mole, and plenty others to chose from.

    Dorm Life

Living in a dorm takes some time to get used to especially if you are not used to sharing a bathroom with 4 to 8 or even a whole hall of people. The good thing about living in dorms is the usually are cozy enough for roommates to have their own space and personal belongings. There are better dorms than others but each have something unique about them that makes living in a dorm a good memory and preparing you to deal with all kinds of different people.

    Academic Rigor

The academics at Campbell University can become rigorous if you do not take the time to study and put in effort in your classes. Campbell offers many tools to ensure the student is successful in the classroom. Things like the writing center that allows students to receive editing on papers and tutoring services in tough courses ensure students can not only pass their classes but receive a good grade.

    Tips for prospective students

Campbell is a good choice for students who would like to be in a relatively small environment without many distractions. The courses here at Campbell are above excellence and many students leave with jobs offers right after graduation.

    In three sentences

Campbell University is a baptist based school equipped with the tools to further students education and prepare them for the workforce. It offers a vast amount of majors and minors to chose from as well as many professional schools to further your learning. Campbell is a perfect school choice for any student focused on their school work with little partying and more of christian-based atmosphere.

    Campus Safety

If there is ever a problem, campus safety is only a phone call or a yell away. Campus safety rides golf carts around campus in order to get to any disturbances on campus quickly.

    Clubs and Activities

We have a plethora of clubs on campus. We have a street fair at the beginning of the year which showcases them all. Tents are crammed on the walkway with people showcasing their club.

Great for these types of students

Students wanting a close knit community feel on their campus. Ones that know how to have fun when there are not any events going on on campus.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

We have an annual Easter egg hunt where the golden eggs can get you a flat screen TV. The Alan Brown Challenge is a great relay race that involves many activities other than running.

    Bang for the buck

Depending on your major, Campbell is a great deal. This applies for everyone planning on going into a graduate program at Campbell. Otherwise, you are getting a very expensive business or education degree.

    What to do for fun

I mostly play sports. We have a ton of club sports and intramural sports that are very competitive. Otherwise you can go to the sporting, CAB, or club events. Also there are some parties that you can go to if you can find out where they are being held.

    Food and Dining

There are many places to eat on campus. With your meal plan, you get a certain amount of meals and camel bucks. Camel bucks can be used at Papa Johns, Quiznos, the Burger Studio, and Chick fa la on campus. Marshbanks and Shouse use the meals off of the meal plan.

    Dorm Life

Depending on the dorm, you will have a different dorm life. I was in a suite style dorm which held eight people. There were two per room and one bathroom. The only problem occurred when some suite mates were not as cleanly as they should be.

    Academic Rigor

This depends on your major. I am a pharmacy major, and my classes tend to give many people a hard time. Honestly, I have only found one class hard in my two semesters, but most of my friends have found multiple classes giving them major difficulty.

    Tips for prospective students

If you are looking for a school in a big city with a lot of parties, this is not the college for you. There are parties and things to do around campus, but Campbell is not located in a big city where you can do anything. I would highly suggest this school for people considering entering their graduate programs. However, if you are getting a regular business degree or something of that nature, this college can give that to you, but for a whole lot more money than other colleges.

    In three sentences

Campbell University is a great college for students trying to find a close knit community with small class sizes. The teachers are very in tune with their students and get information across quickly and accurately. Overall, this school is fantastic.

    Greek Life

Greek Life is in it's first year at Campbell so there isn't really much to go off of.

    Clubs and Activities

It is easy to join a club, and if they don't have something you are interested in its possible to run that club yourself if you talk to the right people.

Great for these types of students

    Academically focused.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

Midnight Breakfast before finals at Marsh.

    Bang for the buck

It is really expensive, but you do learn the material.

    What to do for fun

Wal-Mart, Cookout, and County Seat on the weekends.

    Food and Dining

Make sure you have plenty of Creek Bucks...

    Dorm Life

Freshman girls in New Dorm have it made other than that you're screwed.

    Academic Rigor

As a science major, it is challenging, but not impossible if you put in the effort needed.

    Tips for prospective students

    Study every day.

    In three sentences

A wonderful school, filled with great people. Campbell University is not only a school, but a family. You build relationships you couldn't find anywhere else.

Great for these types of students

CU is great for anybody wanting to feel Southern hospitality or just wanting to get away from it all. It's kind of in the country and you have to travel a bit to find certain types of entertainment but CU offers many different things for students to do. Clubs, movies, concerts, lectures....there's a little bit of something for everyone!

    Bang for the buck

CU is pretty expensive but the educational opportunities and the feeling of the campus makes it worthy.

    Will enjoy being here

I have walked around CU since I was a little girl and have always felt welcome. Everybody here has such a nice way of making you feel at home. They really care about getting to know you and making you feel comfortable.

    Will learn a lot

I have heard SO many great things about CU and the professors there. I can't wait to get there and start learning!

Great for these types of students

There isn't a whole lot to do, so if you're a party-goer, this isn't the school for you. If you are a devoted student, come to Campbell. Students who love the color orange are always welcome.

    Tips for prospective students

Don't speed, because the cops around Buies Creek love giving tickets to college students. Especially don't speed in Angier (which is just down the road). Get your acceptance early and get in your housing form so you can get the best pick of dorms. (Hint for the guys: Murray has very sensitive fire alarms.)

    Bang for the buck

Yes, it's expensive, but that's what scholarships are for. Plenty of free t-shirts to go around along with exam week breakfasts and shuttles to Walmart during move-in. The top-notch classrooms and sporting facilities definitely make it worth the money!

    Am enjoying being here

Campbell has a cozy atmosphere. I feel like I see the same people all of the time, making it a very close-knit community. The Campus Activities Board always has fun events planned, and sporting events are always great to go to as well.

    Am learning a lot

The professors are great at Campbell. There are no student assistants teaching the classes, which means that only those with degrees are teaching the materials. With the lack of fun stuff to do really near campus, there is always time for studying, which is the whole reason for going to school right?

    Food and Dining

The food at school is okay. It all depends on where you go on campus. If a person goes to the Oasis, they are sure to get great food. If a person goes to Marshbanks...well they better be picky.

    Dorm Life

Dorm life for me this year was amazing! Of course this year I was extremly lucky. As the first class of students able to be in the New Residence Hall for a full year, I have had a great time. Making dorm friends, hanging out in the lobby, and struggling with laundry are all memories I have made this year.

    Academic Rigor

I took quite a bit of AP classes in high school so I don't necessarily think the work at Campbell has been too rigorous. I know for a fact though, from the other students that many teachers are extremly rigorous. As usual though I believe a rigorous course load depends on each student, their particular semester, their year in college, and the professors that they have.

    In three sentences

Campbell has a great atmosphere which can help foster students as they learn who they want to be in life. The teachers along with the rest of the staff are all very helpful, and the overall hospitality seen on campus is just the type of environment a person can become who they are in. I know that I will have a great education on campus as my Freshmen year has been full of great memories.

    What to do for fun

I've just discovered Campbell and am wondering whether the small size creates a healthily close-knit community, or whether it seems as though there is not enough diversity among students. Are there any current students with insight to this concern?

There are always security guards creeping around so you are perfectly safe to walk around at night. I did get my bike stolen over Christmas break, so maybe if you bring one you should take it home over long breaks like that though.

    Clubs and Activities

The clubs are mostly academic, but we do have fun things like Zumba, Martial Arts, Yoga, etc. The Campus Activities Board tries really hard to have fun activities, and it's getting better, but could use some improvement.

Great for these types of students

If you want a smaller school and a beautiful campus this is for you.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

Campbell LOVES fountains....every once in a while kids will put soap in the fountain causing it to bubble up.

    Bang for the buck

The prestige of a degree from Campbell is definitely worth it. If you are going for Pharmacy or Law, this is an exceptional school. I'm an education major, however. After your first year, you will probably want to transfer, but if you stick around long enough to move off campus it will be worth it. After visiting friends from other schools, I can certainly say that our buildings, dorms, and dining halls are much nicer (although the food is somewhat lacking).

    What to do for fun

There is a bowling alley about 10 minutes away. Sometimes we have on campus events, such as the dances, concerts, etc. Fayetteville is kind of sketchy but there is some stuff to do there. I prefer to go to Garner/Raleigh/Apex area which are all about 45 minutes away. Skating, Movies, Shopping, Restaurants, Etc. Fuquay Varina is only 25 minutes away and has some restaurants and small downtown shops.

    Food and Dining

Shouse dining hall is a lot better than Marshbanks, but the latter is usually okay. Chickfila, Quizno's, and the Oasis are definitely the best, but require Camel Bucks instead of Meal Plan. We do have a Starbucks though! My biggest complaint is simply that Marshbanks closes too early.

    Dorm Life

As I said, there is not much to do. Living with someone else is extremely difficult if you're not used to it. Try to meet the people in your suite or on your hall and participate in the RA's activities. I would have enjoyed my freshman year much better if I had done that.

    Academic Rigor

Depending on your professor, the classes can be pretty hard. As long as you do what is required though, you'll pass.

    Tips for prospective students

I would recommend that if you don't plan on going home for the weekends, that you have your car on campus. Also, it's helpful if you bring movies, games, etc. for when you get bored. The food is not so great. More Camel Bucks is far better than more Meal Plans.

    In three sentences

Campbell really is in the middle of nowhere, so this can be both a good and a bad thing. You have to drive about 45 minutes to go do stuff, but you do get to know your professors and classmates very well. The best way to get the most out of Campbell is truly to become involved in an organization and try to make friends.

    Campus Safety

Campbell University is a very safe school. It is in a rural area, so there is no inner city violence. However, it is a college campus so there is a need for the campus safety group. They travel by golf carts and cars, which allow them to get through campus quickly. You will see campus safety spread throughout campus any time of day. There are also emergency poles that can call 911, spread throughout the campus.

    Greek Life

Campbell's 2013-2014 school year is it's first year with Greek Life. They have added 2 sororities and 2 fraternities.

    Clubs and Activities

There are clubs for just about every major on campus. There are political, cultural, and special interests clubs. The CAB (Campbell Activity Board) plans a lot of events on and off campus that are either free, or very well priced. There are several volunteer actives and missions trips throughout the year as well.

Great for these types of students

Students who want to feel part of a great community should come to Campbell. If you want to know your professors as well as many of your classmates, Campbell is for you. Campbell is a Baptist University, but many of the students are of no religious affiliation at all. About half the students are Christian and many of them refrain from partying, while the other half parties like typical college students.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

Every year during welcome week, there is a mud volleyball tournament. Teams are formed and then compete in a volley ball court filled with mud. A lot of students attend to watch and many people meet new friends at this event. Since Campbell's mascot is a camel, every Wednesday, aka, Hump Day is celebrated, and CAB throws an event.

    Bang for the buck

Campbell is expensive, but a quality education that will effect the rest of your carrier. Campbell's main focus in making successful students, and the professors are the one's who teach the class, not assistants (that teach in public college). All of my professors know my name. I can proudly say 90% of my professors were excellent.

    What to do for fun

Since Campbell is in a rural area, you may wonder what there is to do for fun. There is a team called CAB (Campbell Activities Board), that plans events. These events are dances, trips to amusement parks, beach trips, DC trips, and fun events on campus. There are always sport events going on, and the Camel Crazies, rewards students who frequently attend games. If you are into fitness and sports, there is a variety of things to do. There are zumba, cross fit, yoga, and, other fitness classes. There are two free weight gyms, and one complete gym. Of course there are several intramural and club sports. If sports are not your thing there are many other clubs and groups that fit every personality type. Campbell also has a country club with a pool and golf course, as well as an indoor pool available to students. There are always events going on, it is not hard to have fun at Campbell. Campbell is a little far from the city, so that eliminates some a lot of things to do. Sometimes it can be boring, but you just have to search, and you will find things to do.

    Food and Dining

Campbell has two main dinning halls, that offer a variety of meals. Marshbanks, the largest hall, has a salad bar, home cooked meal bar, custom sandwich bar, burger bar, pizza bar, and several deserts. Marshbanks is the only all-you-can-eat dining on campus. Marshbanks does not always have the best food, but thank goodnewss there are other options. The other dining hall, Shouse, offers a salad bar, burger bar, and, home cooked meal bar. You can also eat at several other places on campus as well: Hole Mole, Papa Johns, The Groc, The Pod, Chick fil a, Quizno's, The Oasis, Montage's Deli, and Starbucks. Just off campus, there is a Subway, an Asian restaurant, Creek Coffee, and more.

    Dorm Life

Campbell has many options for dorms. They have the traditional dorms with two bathrooms for every hall, dorms with a bathroom between each room, and suite style dorms with five rooms a bathroom and a living room to each suite. Upper class men have the option of apartments or dorms for on campus living.

    Academic Rigor

The classes at Campbell challenge their students. Many courses are rigorous and require a lot of devoted time to studying and doing projects. They are not impossible, but you will have to put forth effort and study. Remember, a school that trains it's students to study hard produces excellent worker who can face challenges. If you are not doing well academically, Campbell offers tutors as other success programs.

    Tips for prospective students

    1. Talk to students from the campus, so you can get a feel for what life is like there 2. Visit the campus because it makes it much easier to tell if you will like a school. 3.Before you start school, get a planner and write all the important dates, breaks, and assignments you have due.

    In three sentences

Campbell University is the best of both worlds, it is a small university with a small town feel, but it offers many things a larger university has. Campbell offers many undergraduate degrees and programs that are well respected. Campbell recently opened it's new School of osteopathic medicine, to accompany it's pharmacy school, and best in the state law school.

    Clubs and Activities

Lots of clubs and club sports, which are a big deal on campus. We even have a humans vs. zombies club.

Great for these types of students

Campbell does have a somewhat diverse group of students. Ideal for anyone looking for a school that has incorporated Christianity into every aspect. Also if you like smaller classes, professors that actually take the time to know you, and a more family environment.

    Campbell is a baptist-affiliated school

    Bang for the buck

As a private school, it is on the pricey side. Lots of scholarships available though and they are pretty reasonable to earn.

    What to do for fun

Surprisingly a lot. Campus activities board does a pretty good job making activities available to students considering the .. ahem... distant location of the school.

    Food and Dining

The dining hall is improving but still leaves much to be desired. however, there is a Starbucks, Papa John's, Jole Mole, Quiznos and Chik-Fil-A on campus, as well as a burger place and a new coffee house across the street.

    Dorm Life

RA's and programs are great and with more dorms being renovated, this rating should vastly improve.

    Academic Rigor

Like all universities, some programs are more difficult than others.

I worked late hours while attending here, and there were always security officers who were willing to take me back to the dorm if I needed assistance due to the hour, or the amount of books I was carrying. They have poles located all across campus to call an officer if you need one, and they also have a phone in the 24 hour room that connects to the security office in case of emergency or if you just need someone to accompany you back to the dorm. Be careful though, some of them do like to race each other in their golf carts at night, and they aren't always watching for pedestrians.

Great for these types of students

Most of the students that enjoy their experience here are ones that are going for pharmacy, party, or come from money.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

There are plenty of quiet places to go on campus if you decide to tak a walk or run.

    Bang for the buck

You really don't get your bang for your buck here. They have an awesome library (and staff there at the library), some good variety for eating and a lot of activities. But, the school itself seems to spend its money on advertising the school and using smelly chemicals to make the grass look green rather then fixing sidewalks and issues in the dorms. The academics are okay. But overall, for the amount you pay to come here, it just isn't worth it.

    What to do for fun

CAB hosts a lot of activities on campus, there are Bible studies (of different faiths) going on throughout the week, and there is generally a lot going on for relaxing around exam times. Though, if you want to go anywhere, you really do need a vehicle since the closest town is almost 20 minutes away. But, I do advise you to take full advantage of the weightlifting room, the free gym and the pool. They are great for getting rid of some of that spare time during the year.

    Food and Dining

I don't exactly have a lot to say on this topic, since I'm not on the meal plan, except for the fact that they have a very limited selection for those who do have food allergies. Otherwise, they have restaurants and two small stores on campus as well as the general dining hall. So, if you don't like what Marsh is serving that day, there are quite a few other options.

    Dorm Life

This really depends on the dorm you get into. From my experience though, some of the RAs and RDs are really awesome and it's possible to have a great time with friends. The quality of the dorms themselves is debatable. They need updated, and the New Dorm, which I was in, wasn't properly maintained.

    Academic Rigor

I have only enjoyed a handful of the classes that I've attended here so far, and it is mostly because there are some teachers that don't seem to take a particular interest in the students they teach, just the standing that they [the teacher] hold in the school. The classes are on both ends of the spectrum. I've had some that are so easy that you can sleep through it and get and A, and I've also had some that, no matter how hard you try and study, you will barely squeak by.

    Tips for prospective students

    1) Be sure that you know the state regulations for your major as well as the school's. ESPECIALLY if you are a special education major who plans to get a Master's in something other than special education. 2) Look for a better school first. 3) Really get to know your department head and your adviser if you do choose to attend. 4) Find teachers that everyone recommends (not just because they're easy)! They are generally the ones that care about the student and are willing to help you the most if you are struggling. 5) Love your roomie! It doesn't matter where you go, this is a must. If you don't love your roommate, find one that you do as soon as possible. It will make life so much easier.

    In three sentences

Campbell is an expensive school, especially for the area, although, the campus is really nice. They do offer a variety of activities to do, however, if you are serious about your academics or are a student who works, they schedule things at times that aren't always convenient. Overall, my experience here has been less than satisfactory for the amount that I have to pay in order to attend.

    Dorm Life

Brian hall had a bug problem and was very cold during the beginning of the winter, but then they fixed the heat later on.

    Academic Rigor

It is easy to find a tutor if you need one, and professors are good at responding to emails, and it is easy to go to your professor about a question and they will be there. Professors usually get to know you by face and name.

    What to do for fun

CU is located off US421 (that runs between Wilmington and Boone, NC) near Dunn, NC out in a rural setting. Several nearby attractions, town and cities are within short distance for a quick run to Walmart or day trips.

    Food and Dining

Come prepared at CU to supplement the meal plan with your own shopping. The food is generally not all that great. It would be nice to have more soup and sandwich options, along with more home cooked meal fares.

    Dorm Life

With the right CU roommate, freshman dorm life can be a rewarding experience. The dorms have good locations and are well maintained. Make sure to do a thorough inspection of your assigned room on move-in day, especially for any potential mold problems.

    Academic Rigor

The teacher to student ratio in most classes at CU is very good. Teachers get to know you by name. Assignments are fair and challenging. You can expect to make A and B's, with an occasional C, with the appropriate balance of study and social time.

    Tips for prospective students

My four tips for CU prospective students would be: 1.) find a good roommate, 2.) bring a bike, 3.) join some clubs, and 4.) apply for scholarships. Even though it is an expensive private school, don't be discouraged and try for the Scott-Ellis Scholarship.

    In three sentences

I knew CU was the right fit for me after my first college visit. The campus had everything I was looking for including great: 1.) PGM program, 2.) learning facilities, 3.) Christian atmosphere, 4.) small population, and 5) extracurricular activities. I would highly recommend CU to any prospective student.

Campbell may be small, but it is tough. They push their students to the very best.

    Tips for prospective students

Come prepared to work hard and have fun. Have an opened mind to try new things and make the most of the small campus. Teachers may be difficult but they are there to help.

    In three sentences

Campbell University is a great college that supports its students educationally and spiritually. It provides for its students a small town life filled with happiness and peace. It is a wonderful enviroment.

The food could be alot better if the things on the menu had more of a variety so that students wouldn't so easily get bored of the same dishes. I try not to eat there so much because there are only good meals every so often so usually try other places on campus.

    Dorm Life

This can pretty much rely on your roommate who can make or break dorm life and the dorm where you stay. Some dorms are nicer than others though you generally have to pay more to stay there and if roomate problems do arise it's easy to switch out with someone else.

CAB sends out a calendar full of activities each semester like the Great Gatsby themed spring formal, Bacon Day(where we will get free shirts), midnight breakfast, zombie week, ski trips, water park trips, Nerf gun war, flag football, dorm wars and even free massages during exam week!! When they don't have something going on there's Zumba, Cross Fit, Sports games, movie night, and whatever dorm activities your resident director has planned. But if none of that is appealing there's midnight bowling at the bowling ally up the street on weekends!

    Food and Dining

It just depends on where you go and what day it is. The Oasis, Chik-fil-a, Quiznos, and Shouse always have great food but Marshbanks is iffy sometimes.

    Dorm Life

This is how I've met most of my best friends. If I had commuted I'm not sure I would have met some of the groups I'm involved in today.

    Academic Rigor

Some teachers are tougher than others but they are all fair and are willing to work with you if you are willing to put for an effort.

    Tips for prospective students

    1. Shouse is way better to eat at than Marshbanks and the food is always ten times better on visitation days. 2. Work ahead! It means you get to go do all the fun stuff. 3. Get involved! Go out and meet new people! Sometimes just exploring the campus is a good way to find activities you didn't even know were out there. 4. Take advantage of the free games, tutors, counselors, and workout sessions (Like zumba and cross fit). 5. Be bold. Be creative. Have a blast!!

    In three sentences

It's defiantly a gorgeous campus and takes no more than ten minutes to walk from one end to the other. Most classes are small (no more than 30 people) so students are able to get some great one on one relationships with professors. It may be in the middle of no where but if you put yourself out there you can always find something fun to do. Plus CAB is always giving away free shirts at it's functions.

    Food and Dining

They have several options for student. However if you like to have a tremendous of seasoning in your food then you should be prepared to have to add some.

    Dorm Life

    I never lived on campus

    Tips for prospective students

Keep all notes and books if possible from classes. A lot of information for certain programs is repetitive and it makes it easier to study. Make friends and try to go on as many of the school spononsered trips as possible. It will allow for a better college experience.

    In three sentences

Campbell University is an excellent school. The only thing that I dislike about it is that there is not more stuff to do on campus. However as far as the education you get it is well worth it.

    Dorm Life

    The dorms look decent.

    Academic Rigor

College courses can be challenging but, you are there to learn everything possible about your major.

Campbell University has a wonderful campus in the middle of a nice and quiet town. Everyone I have met on campus is extremely nice. I knew the minute that I set foot on campus that they were the school I wanted to go to.

    Campus Safety

The campus is mostly safe unless you count constant fire alarms every week that turn out to be nothing. The campus safety is always willing to help out even f you lock yourself out of your room at 3 in the morning.

    Greek Life

Currrenty there are only 4organizations. All of which started in the fall of 2013/ spring 2014.

    Clubs and Activities

An array of clubs for everyone and if you don't find a club that interests you start one.

Great for these types of students

small-campus orientated , non party , ones that want to learn, easily distracted , ROTC

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

at basketball games when our team is shooting a free-throw we raise our hands in front of us and wiggle our fingers.

    Bang for the buck

Its a private school so spend you time and money here as efficiently and effectively as possible.

    What to do for fun

Dorm events are great to attend. Sports and playing sports with friends is always good. There are events that the activities board puts on that range from movies to trips( trips cost money). There are free concerts and plays to attend. Club events are essential to being involved on campus. Community events are also great to be involved with to have fun. The library is always opened and hosts events that are actually fun sometimes. As at any college going out away from campus can be a fun time.

    Food and Dining

There are many places to eat and most of them take meal plan. Papa johns is the only one that doesn't take meal plan. There is a Mexican place that is good depending on who is working. There is a burger place that is very busy at lunch since it began taking meal plan. There is a sandwich place that is like Subway. There are 2 cafeterias one is dine in an the other take out. Breakfast is the great. Lunch and dinner at Marshbanks (dine in) is most of the time the same except for the home cooking which changes. There isn't a lot of variety. More healthier options are gaining ground at Marshbanks. There is ample seating everywhere. There are also 2 mini grocery stores on campus, but they are about double what you would pay at a regular store.

    Dorm Life

Girl's/Women's dorms get the first attention and he best attention. Girl's dorms I would give a 4 for appearance for the freshman ones and a 3 for all the other ones. Guy's get the run down dorms. They are the oldest and require a lot of maintenance from heat and a/c to mold and bats. Previous years dorms were the place where all the bad things happened but now nothing criminal is happening and dorm life is improving. Students start to accept other dorm mates for their differences and try to talk to everyone. There is always construction going on to renovate or build new dorms. It is only a matter of time when the male dorms will be made new and better.

    Academic Rigor

4 stars for academics. The medical field is rising and the hardest of the programs and courses offered here. The Professor- students relationship is the most important t having the best academic experience. If the student doesn't care the professor doesn't care about giving the very best teaching (this is mostly true for math and science). If the work isn't done by the student the Professor doesn't help as much. Academic excellence is continually being placed upon the student to take initiative for learning. Professors want to teach and they get more in depth and do the harder more challenging things wit the students that want to learn.

    Tips for prospective students

Make sure to find a roommate or pray that you end up with someone that you can be friends with or at least tolerate. Ask around people already attending for the professors to get. Talk with professors and get to know them along with your fellow students. Make sure you either have a printer that has ink and a lot of paper or you have money to print. Once you are in a dorm it can take a long time to switch dorms, so pick the dorm you want to stay in. Always get books from another source other than the campus bookstore.

    In three sentences

I am a student here. The heart and soul of Harnett County, Campbell University is home to a small beautiful campus and excellent academics. There doesn't seem a lot to do in the Creek if you don't search and look for events. Most students love it here but they complain about general education courses and weekend deadness.

The dorms I saw looked fine. They were much nicer than the dorms at Elon that I visited. I liked them.

It has the programs I am looking for (pre-pharmacy or pre-law), and they are excellent.

    What to do for fun

You are in the middle of nowhere so don't expect a lot to do around campus. However, raleigh is about 45 minutes away so it isn't that far of a journey to go in the city.

    Food and Dining

Good food, but it gets old since there is only like 5 places to eat on campus.

    Dorm Life

Dorm's are alright for the most part. You want to try and get into the apartments on campus, but for freshman you're out of luck unless you're an athlete.

    Academic Rigor

The academic rigor is pretty high. The professors expect quality work. There is no slacking here.

    Tips for prospective students

Be prepared to work hard to achieve what you want. Campbell offers a lot of help for you to succeed, but you have to be motivated.

    In three sentences

Small School. Family like community. Not for the lazy, come to work & succeed.
