    Campus Safety

Very friendly security guards coupled with a very honest student body.

    Greek Life

    None

    Clubs and Activities

20+ clubs on campus all lead by a very active Associated Student government. Phi Zeta Beta (honors society) took 4th Internationally this year!

Great for these types of students

If you like small colleges with one to one relations with your professors this would be great college for you. If you come from somewhere with a lot of trees, Cañada can make you feel at home.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

Cañada College is on top of a hill overlooking the Bay from San Francisco to San Jose. Most of the parking lots have phenomenal views and often you'll find various students sitting and enjoying this view in their cars.

    Bang for the buck

    46 Dollars a unit for residents...302 for non-residents

    What to do for fun

There is basketball, football, American football, a fully functional workout center, and oddly enough there always seems to be a group of 'Frisbee-ers' on campus. Also a plethora of computers bring a lot of 'lan' gaming.

    Food and Dining

Brand new as of this years is The Grove, a completely modern cafe/cafeteria that serves all 'grade A' meats. As a student at Cañada you benefit from residing in a large district but going to a relatively small school. Many, many choices of what to eat. Daily 'chef specials' and there is always free stuff if you buy one thing or another.

    Dorm Life

    No dorms as of 2012

    Academic Rigor

I give this a four out of five not because it lacks difficulty but because it's up to you how hard you want to make it on yourself. You can choose easy professors and squeeze by learning the absolute minimum, or you can challenge yourself for what your really their to earn; a higher education.

    Tips for prospective students

Cañada College can be a great stepping stone to a top rated four year if you let it. Get involved on campus and you'll find truth behind their slogan from here you can go anywhere.

    In three sentences

The professors on campus are some of the best you'll find at any community college and in many cases they're nationally rated. Well compensated for their time, professors here are there to stay, and they really care deeply for their students. It also doesn't hurt that the college is on top of a hill and has a beautiful view of the entire bay.

    Campus Safety

Our campus safety is constantly patrolling the grounds and are on campus/ call 24/7. They are friendly and always willing to help.

    Greek Life

The closest thing to Greek life is our Phi Theta Kappa branch, which is an honors club.

    Clubs and Activities

There are many active clubs on campus that range from sports clubs, to educational clubs. There are also many activities. Every Thursday ASCC, or Student Activities, throws events in the quad. The school also throws events for holidays, and special occasions. We have had activities from bull riding to sumo wrestling. Its always a fun time up at Canada.

Great for these types of students

Since Canada is a community college, it is a great option for graduating high school seniors who are not quite sure what they want to do. Through the community college system, you can explore your interests and find your passion without spending thousands of dollars on tuition. Canada is also great for the High School student who may be more mature for their age, or just has difficulty with the whole high school scene. Canada's middle college program provides students in high school to get a jump start on their college careers, as well as finish their high school ones.

    What to do for fun

There isn't much to do on campus, but if you go down the hill to downtown Redwood City it is filled with a variety of Restaurants, bars, bakeries, coffee shops, you name it. There is also amazing outdoor activities around the city. Redwood City is filled with parks with plenty of places to hike, play sports, and adventure around. Redwood City is also conveniently placed right in the middle of both San Jose and San Francisco, so both are great options to have fun!

    Food and Dining

The primary source for food on campus is the Grove. The Grove is the newest addition to campus and has a pretty good selection of food available to students. There are two other places to get food on campus: The Pony Expresso, and The Bookstore. The Pony Expresso is the coffee shop on campus. The coffee is usually pretty good, and there are an assortment of bagels and pastries available. There are also random chips, fruit, and snacks, but its a good coffee shop. The Bookstore is the place where you purchase textbooks, school supplies, snacks/meals, and random healthcare stuff ( like advil, tums, and eyedrops). The line isn't usually too long, only during passing periods, and the staff is pretty nice.

    Dorm Life

Campus living is offered to very few. Campus living is for out of state/ country students and faculty that have to commute.

    Academic Rigor

Depending on the course levels and major one is seeking after, the classes vary in difficulty. Science, Mathematics, and Engineering majors tend to have more difficult classes. Theses classes include multiple labs, extensive out of class work, and lengthy lectures. Humanities classes also have their challenges in the form of many extensive papers and lectures. All in all, it depends on the subject and the teacher.

    Tips for prospective students

Some tips for prospective students are to be proactive in your education, if you are struggling in your classes take advantage of the excellent tutors in the Learning Center, and see more than one academic counselor to insure you are getting accurate information for you academic goals.

    In three sentences

Canada College has a very welcoming and inviting campus community. From my experience, the college has excellent teachers that are willing to go above and beyond, as well as take extra time to help students personally. Overall, Canada is a college that works with you to achieve your academic goals.
