There's plenty to do in Pittsburgh, parties on weekends, and parties at PITT on weekdays if you're into that

Pittsburgh is a really great city. You can explore the different sectors such as the strip district, the cultural district, etc. There are many restaurants within walking distance from campus. The buses make it pretty easy to get around also. As a student, there are many things you can do for free around pittsburgh.

Go to the events your dorm has, your RAs are surprisingly interesting and funny. Sports teams are fun and aren't hard to join no matter what your skill level is. I hear that if you want to go a really fun party, you have to go to the University of Pittsburgh down the street. As far as just hanging out with friends goes, its easy to find a favorite restaurant and bus fare is free for students with their ID. That is a bigger plus than it seems.

Explore Pittsburgh! We get free access in to all of the museums and our ID card works as a bus pass, so we can get anywhere in this city.

There are tons of campus events happening all the time that are usually pretty fun, especially Carnival. Also, going down to the Waterfront and seeing a movie or just hanging out with friends is a great way to get away from campus now and then.

There is ALWAYS something to do at Carnegie Mellon if not the plethora of work given, there are plays to see (free for students) almost every week. Fashion shows to participate in or see, on campus concerts in one of our cafeteria's, game nights, plenty of places to eat in the city, a numerous amount of extra curricular activities and or electives that suits one's interests.
