    Make sure you choose a school based on more than just academics. Try to get an idea about the culture of the school and opportunities outside of the classroom.

    Make sure you meet with professors and advisers prior to attending Carson-Newman. They don't offer many medical programs (like Pre-dental programs), also some other majors have been cut in the past years. Many students are turned off by the campus being so small and the college town doesn't have anything but a Walmart. Visit! Visit! Visit!
