Categories Comments Great for these types of students If one is looking for a small school, where one can be in intimate classroom settings, then Cazenovia College would be for them. It's a place for students who want to have close relationships with their professors and fellow-classmates. It's a place where one can get the help one needs to be successful in life after college. And also a great place for students who want a challenge, because the honors program offers some rigorous courses.
Tips for prospective students The school does come with some drama, because word travels very fast in a small school. The college is also located near a lake, which can make for a ton of snow in the winter. Also, not many jobs are available in the village surrounding the college because the village of Cazenovia is very small.
Bang for the buck Since the college is small, the staff is dedicated to helping each accepted student afford the education. Every student can receive a scholarship upon acceptance (based on high-school merit) for a percentage of the education, and hundreds of other, smaller scholarships are available. The school also makes sure that every student gets the most out of their education and college experience by tailoring the education to the student's needs, as well as getting great internships and jobs for the students.
Am enjoying being here The school has about 900 students, so the school is a very close community. One can truly find one's niche with all of the different clubs, sports, extracurricular activities, and trips the school offers. The food is pretty delicious considering it is a college cafeteria, and they offer a variety of choices. Also, the school is gorgeous, well-kept, and located next to a scenic lake.
Am learning a lot The professors at Cazenovia College really try to tailor one's education to one's needs. They offer a fantastic learning center ready and willing to tutor any student in any subject. The advisors and professors want to challenge the students so that they can learn the most from the classes and to be successful in life. The coursework is challenging, but doable, and the college offers a variety of interesting classes.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Students looking for a low-key creative atmosphere for art, students interested in a smaller, close-knit college (though be prepared for some drama--it comes with the size), smaller class sizes, strong equine program, and sports teams that become your family.
Tips for prospective students You can never have too many quarters. Get involved with clubs and other campus activities (this is important on any college campus--it's all part of the college experience). Visit Caz, stay overnight, talk to coaches and current students.
Bang for the buck Good education, not crazy expensive. The school offers many scholarships.
Am enjoying being here Great campus, great professors, great people.
Am learning a lot I have seen improvements in my work in all my classes. Part of it is my own drive to succeed, but I have received a tremendous amount of support from my professors.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Students who want to go to a college that will provide great education that is tailored to them. Also for those who like the small school and town atmosphere.
Tips for prospective students Apply early and know that the school is smaller. This school may be small but it offers a lot.
Bang for the buck You learn a lot here and the professors are great. If you like a smaller town that is close to a big city this a great place to be
Am enjoying being here There is a lot to do here even though it is a smaller school. The campus hosts many events throughout the year and a lot of them are great. Every weekend we have a movie that is out of theaters but no on DVD yet for students to watch with their friends for free.
Am learning a lot The professors here help each student on an individual level and will not give up on you. They are professors who have either mastered the field or are part of the field of the course or study therefore giving the student the most for their time and money.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Equine studies majors. The equine program is fantastic. Other than that.... choose another school.
Tips for prospective students Make sure you really want a small school and know that you can create your own fun or else you'll be bored 24/7.
Bang for the buck Not really. The school is very expensive.
Did enjoy being here Not really. The school was really small and the people get old fast. There's nothing to do on the weekends and it takes a half hour to get into Syracuse and if you're a freshman you won't be able to get there unless you take the vans that run once every two weeks or find an upperclassman.
Did learn a lot The professors do teach you a lot and expect a lot out of you. If you do all the work and study, passing the classes will be easy!

Categories Comments What to do for fun cab events happen mostly every weekend (movies, comedians, musicians, dances), but as for in-town fun, there isn't much to do. unless you have a car, you make your own fun with your friends, which i have found to be better than clubbing any night.
Food and Dining campus dining is better than most high school cafeteria food, but a step below other college's options. we have one dining hall on campus with very good food on some days, but poor selections on other days. we also have late night and cyber cafe, which are the food options past dinner time. both have good food, so it can sometimes be a good substitute if it's leftovers for dinner.
Dorm Life cazenovia has four main dorms on campus, not counting the suites and apartments. freshmen typically live in either park or watts, and to a lesser extent, farber (the all female dorm). i have found people in farber to be courteous, clean, and quiet. i can always count on being able to take a nap in my room without being disturbed. however, living in park or watts can be quite noisy, and in some cases, uninhabitable for the quiet lovers. they are fun dorms to spend time with your friends with, but not to sleep in.
Academic Rigor the academic rigor varies from class to class, as it does in most schools. i have been in classes that are painfully easy, while at the same time doing homework for others that take all of my concentration and effort.
Tips for prospective students before committing yourself to caz, be sure you are ready to live in a small town. though the college provides many events for students to participate in, there is no denying that we have limited activities in the town itself. however, the exchange for a personal, safe, and friendly town is worth it in my opinion.
In three sentences cazenovia college is located in a small town, nestled among the hills of upstate new york. a private institution founded in 1824, cazenovia college is school for those of us who prefer a more personal relationship with teachers and other employees. this is not a lie: you are not a number at cazenovia college.

Categories Comments Campus Safety campus safety has things covered. they will help you out at a moment's notice and make sure that people are on their best behaviors.
Clubs and Activities i love the clubs and activities. i am a part of many many clubs and it is great to mingle with so many different people.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus the fashion show is huge and almost seems like a tradition, and i love it.
Bang for the buck although there is a lot to do here it is a small college and quite expensive.
What to do for fun attending cazenovia activities boards events is great fun. dances, movies, music, and much more.
Food and Dining the meals are prepared very well, but seem to repeat more often than they should.
Dorm Life at times it can be very noisy and hard to deal with, but over all the resident assistants do well to keep things in check.
Academic Rigor the academics are done very well, generally. some professors could do with being more organized and making sure certain software and tasks are explained properly. learning from any and all of the professors is great fun, and the work load is never too overwhelming.
Tips for prospective students it is a great college to attend if your major is among the options here. because it is a small campus, you will be known and your professors will help you. make sure you are prepared for a change in scenery and for a different way of living because it can be tough.
In three sentences cazenovia college is great for its size because it does have a lot more to offer then one would think. most of the people are friendly, and willing to get to know a diverse group of people. and the campus life overall is good if you are one that likes to be very involved.

Categories Comments Campus Safety The security guards are all very kind and respectful. If you need to get into a building late at night and you need some one to open it then they are always on call to come and open it for you. They also help you out with van keys early in the morning if you need to as well. Also if you are up at the parking lot walking down to the college and if you are a little scared then you can call them and they will walk you down to your dorm for extra safety and for your own comfort.
Clubs and Activities There are many clubs and things you can do at Caz. We hold a Quad day once a year in the beginning of the first semester in order to have all the clubs in one place to allow everyone to sign up for the ones they like and such.
Great for these types of students Great for students who are really focused on their studies. If you like to party too much then you can find yourself getting bored quiet easily at Caz.
Bang for the buck Cazenovia is a tad expensive. They help you out with scholarships and all however they tend to raise tuition sometimes.
What to do for fun Syracuse is located only 20 minutes away from the college and is easily accessible. There is also a mall that is about 15 minutes from the college, and also a shopping center. A van is provided to both of these locations once a week so even incoming freshman can have a chance to leave campus when they can.
Food and Dining The food is very good in the cafe. It does seem to get repetitive sometimes however. There is also a small cafe that is open at night until midnight just in case there are some late night munchies.
Dorm Life The bathrooms are cleaned each day, and the cleaning lady is very kind! The staff at Cazenovia will always make sure you are enjoying your time in the dorms and if you do not get along with your roommate then it is easy to switch. The rooms are a nice size as well and also come with desks, a wardrobe and a dresser as well. You can have the chance to have your bed lofted or in the ground.
Academic Rigor The teachers at Cazenovia College are great and very caring. If you are having a hard time with the work then you can easily go to them for help and they will do their best to help you. The classes are challenging but fun and a lot of the classes I have taken already have taken me to places I have never been before and have allowed me to do things I have never done.
Tips for prospective students Don't pack too much because You will wind up using half of what you bring! The library hours are a little hard to work with, but there is a building that is open 24 / 7 for all of your projects that are needed! I would also advice for a ingoing freshman to apply for your van license. It is a lot better if you can drive the van just in case you need to go some where. Then you don't need to find some one to drive it for you.
In three sentences Cazenovia College is a very small college. It is never boring there however and you are always kept on your toes. The teachers and atmosphere is great for learning and furthering your education.

Categories Comments What to do for fun There are many events during the semester that help entertain the students. There are movie weekends and events during the week on campus.
Food and Dining The food is well diverse and they have a vegan selection. There is always life in the dinning hall.
Dorm Life Dorm life is different that being home with family it gives a feeling of Independence.
Academic Rigor The professor work with the students and gives helps to those who ask.
Tips for prospective students Come with goals and high confidence. Believe that you can make it through any situation that may come your way.
In three sentences Cazenovia College helps you to explore the possibly of what life will bring. The staff make you feel like your home and they are open to help a student in need. Caz is a place where you can make lifetime friends.

Categories Comments Campus Safety always safe.
Clubs and Activities they have a club for just about any interest
Great for these types of students equestrian, interior design, art, fashion design, psychology
Bang for the buck cazenovia is expensive, but you get what you pay for.
What to do for fun Cazenovia is a small town so there isnt a ton to do, but the campus activity board puts on a lot of events to keep you occupied.
Dorm Life other residential students are nice. living in the dorms helps you really connect with the whole campus.
Academic Rigor classes are challenging, but manageable.
Tips for prospective students dont be afraid to ask questions and for help. this isnt your typical college with over 50 students in a lecture, the professors want to help you.
In three sentences cazenovia college is a great school to be able to work closely with professors. Classroom sizes are small so you can get immediate attention. All professors are great, 10/10.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Campus safety is always around if you ever need them you can find them right away.
Clubs and Activities There are over 150 clubs you can join at Caz!
What to do for fun Bowling, Movies, walk to the lake, go to the events caz puts on each week, Go get pizza at Caz Pizza.
Food and Dining The food here is good. But if your not in the mood for campus food theres tons of places around you can go to and use meal swipes.
Dorm Life Dorm life here is pretty fun. Every week Caz put on events for us like comedians, magicians, movies stuff like that. And its all free!
Academic Rigor Classes here are just like any other school, but with the school being so small the class sizes are about 20 kids max. which gives you and your teacher more one on one time if you need it.
Tips for prospective students Be ready to come to a small campus. Meet people before coming here it makes move in day much easier!
In three sentences It's a small campus which makes everyone here personal. The campus is gorgeous durning the fall season. The teachers here are amazing if you need help with anything they'll find a way to help.

Categories Comments Campus Safety All the dorms are closely monitored and the doors are all locked after a certain time. It isn't a huge campus, so that certainly helps.
Great for these types of students Students who came from small towns, or don't want a big city environment will love going here. Those who love the hustle and bustle of the big city might have to take some time to adjust to the rurality of the campus.
What to do for fun There is a lake walking distance from any campus building, and the Main Street is full of shops and restaurants. Syracuse isn't far from Cazenovia at all either.
Food and Dining The food on campus looks amazing. From what I have heard from students already there, and the menu I saw online, there isn't much one will miss in the food department.
Dorm Life The dorms are in fantastic condition. The buildings are co-ed, with men and women separated by floors, and single gender buildings as well.
Academic Rigor They offer an All-Honors College that provides an academic challenge for the ambitious students. They also have professors who have the highest degree in their fields teaching their students.
Tips for prospective students I received very concise and accurate information about who to talk to, and the school goes above and beyond to make sure that prospective students always have their questions answered. They even set up a Facebook page so that I could meet people who I will be graduating with early, and that we could get to be friends so that we don't feel so alone that harrowing first day.
In three sentences It is one of the most beautiful campuses I have ever seen. The school is in a perfect location, close to everything, and state of the art. The people are wonderful, and welcoming.

Categories Comments Campus Safety THEY ARE BEYOND RUDE.
Greek Life there is none!
Clubs and Activities Lots of clubs!
Great for these types of students - Equine majors.. - People from small towns...
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus well i'll just let you see for yourself
Bang for the buck i can honestly saying i am receiving a good education here :)
What to do for fun Well it depends on what you like.. Freshmen are not allowed to have cars, unless you're an equine major (which is unfair because obviously a lot of people are not). The town does not have much to offer, or at least in my opinion. Syracuse has things to do, but unless you have some mode of transportation to get you there and back eh hem.. well you know. ( taxis are usually between $75-90 from Syracuse to Caz ONE WAY. You may be lucky and find one for 60 :) )
Food and Dining The sea food is great.. :)
Dorm Life Farber is by far the best dorm, but it is an all girls dorm. sorry guys. You can control the air as well as the heat.
Academic Rigor Some classes are simply harder than others.
Tips for prospective students - DO YOUR RESEARCH!!! please. - Visit the campus, i did not and was shocked when I arrived. - Make sure this place is the right fit - Study, even if you don't think you need to, it will help!
In three sentences Cazenovia is not very diverse. Certain people are treated better than others. You have to take it upon yourself to make this college fun.

In three sentences It is a school of campus program is catered to adults returning for to school. Staff are easy going and communicates well with students attending program. We have the benefits of attending smaller class size and seeing the same faces each semester.
