Great for these types of students

Cedarville is great for students who are self motivated or have a high work ethic. Students who are committed Christians will grow in the ministry saturated environment. Students who love to get involved in volunteering or in ministry will find that Cedarville is a great place for that. Cedarville's challenging academic atmosphere is conducive to students wanting to excel in their studies and in life.

    Tips for prospective students

For prospective students, make sure that you get a lot of volunteer and ministry experience. It will help your admission chances greatly. Also, the earlier you submit your application, the earlier they will review your materials. Also, outside scholarships are a must in helping afford Cedarville, so make sure you apply for those as well!

    Bang for the buck

Although Cedarville is on the pricey side as a Christian University, the education received there is worth every penny. Cedarville is ranked first among student satisfaction reports, and from personal experience, I can say that attending this school is well worth the price.

    Am enjoying being here

The friends you make at Cedarville University are lifelong. The people at Cedarville are of good character and have high morals and values. They are always looking for a good time, but also know when to get their homework done was well. The campus provides plenty of activities to do on the weekends from concerts involving well known Christian artists, Elliv (a large talent show/spoof award concert), to small student led worship services and concerts. There is also open dorms, Campus Christmas, and the new ALT nights to provide plenty of entertainment.

    Am learning a lot

Cedarville University has much to offer its students in everything from academics to volunteer ministry opportunities. Its faculty are all top notch, with most having their doctorate in their chosen fields. They are all passionate about teaching and it shows in all the classes. The classes are all very challenging and each student is required to take a Bible minor in addition to their major. I would highly recommend this university to any student looking for a challenge.

Great for these types of students

The students that will get the most out of their Cedarville experience are the ones who will love to get involved with campus activities, who will enjoy Christ-centered classes, and who wont mind that you'll be stuck in a small town :p

    Tips for prospective students

Jump on those scholarship opportunities, it'll make your life so much easier. Also, once you are accepted, email or Facebook people that go to the university to get a head start with making friends there. Finally, don't worry about the classes, the professors do a great job of making sure that you learn, no matter your previous experience with the topic.

    Bang for the buck

Cedarville is an expensive school. I am going to be in major debt when I have graduated. I tend to think that the education is worth the money, but sometimes it feels like I might be getting screwed.

    Am enjoying being here

The student body at Cedarville is very friendly and accepting. After just one year I have friends that I know will last for a lifetime. Cedarville itself has many events that make socializing very easy. From music nights at the coffee shop, to many class parties. I have had issues with decisions the administration has made in the past year, but those are outweighed by the positive experiences at Cedarville.

    Am learning a lot

Cedarville has many learning opportunities on campus, in class and out. The professors and the staff are all excellent in their field, and are all wonderful teachers. The classes are very well balanced, not too hard, but challenging enough to teach you what you need to know. In addition to this, there are many opportunities to join student groups that are specifically designed to teach you how to function in your chosen field. The general education classes can be boring it you are not engaged in the subject, but usually the professors take care of making the subject interesting.

Great for these types of students

Cedarville University is a university that attracts students who are willing to learn in a close-knit body of people, willing to be academically challenged, and who are open to learn about a variety of subjects.

    Tips for prospective students

My first tip to you is while searching for a university to study at is to make a list of all the things you desire in a school. Separate the list into important and necessary qualifications and personal preferences. Once doing so find the university that you will not only be academically challenged at, but one that you will enjoy as well. My second tip to you as a prospective student is to never give up on a dream just because it is too hard or the college of your choice is too expensive. With hard work and perseverance, anything is possible.

    Bang for the buck

The cost for tuition and board at Cedarville University each year is about 30,000. The price is costly but what a student gets in return is priceless. A Christ-centered atmosphere, a good education, lifelong friends, career experiences are priceless things that one cannot obtain anywhere and cannot put a price on. Sometimes I wonder myself, Hannah, why do you attend such an expensive school? If you would attend a public university you would not have to work at a part time job and you would not have to struggle to pay for school. Although I do have to work hard to pay for school, I fully believe that the education I receive and the lifelong experiences I am gaining is well worth the sacrifice of hard work. If you could experience a day on the campus of Cedarville University, you would realize that attending this university is well worth the cost.

    Am enjoying being here

Not many individuals can say this phrase, I love my college. But I honestly can write you those four words and completely mean it. There are so many aspects of Cedarville University that I enjoy. The campus is spread around a beautiful lake, our facilities are very modern with up-to-date technological equipment, class sizes are small for more personal learning, professors are helpful and truly care about the welfare of their students, opportunities and experiences for future career success are available, and extracurricular activities are always available for those who need to take a break from the academic aspect of college.

    Am learning a lot

I am a sophmore this year at Cedarville University studying Biology. Over the past three semesters of studying at Cedarville I have learned so much in my classes. From the professor lecturing, to labs, to small group projects my academic knowledge has increased in ways I never expected. Not only have I been personally challenged in my academics, but I enjoy learning in such an atmosphere.

Great for these types of students

The kinds of students that excel at Cedarville are dedicated, independent, fun-loving, and Christ-centered. :)

    Tips for prospective students

Get involved. There are many different orgs and volunteer groups that are amazing. Being involved will also make your transition into college easier because you meet tons of new people!

    Bang for the buck

Cedarville does give quality classes that are definitely worth the money, but they are a little bit stingy when it comes to handing out scholarships.

    Am enjoying being here

Although the school is in the middle of a cornfield, there always seems to be something going on. In addition, the friends that I have made are incredible and we have great times simply hanging out! Another great aspect of Cedarville is having chapel everyday. A lot of people do not like the idea of being required to go everyday, but Cedarville brings in really great speakers such as Gianna Jensen, Dannah Gresh, an ex-Mafia member, and DeMaurice Smith, the executive director of the NFL Players Association.

    Academic Rigor

I cannot believe how much I have learned. The material is presented clearly and any questions are encouraged by the professors. The professors are all very willing to help me grow, not only in the knowledge of my major, but also in my spiritual life.

Students looking for an academic and spiritual challenge at a sound Christian University.

    Tips for prospective students

Come visit and check out Cedarville for yourself!

    Bang for the buck

Yes, there are cheaper Christian schools out there, but I think Cedarville is definitely worth the cost!

    Am enjoying being here

I love being at Cedarville! It is great to be constantly surrounded by other Christians. The environment here is just wonderful!

    Am learning a lot

Cedarville has been challenging me spiritually in my walk with God, as well as academically. My professors have been teaching me a lot, and just in this first semester of college, my knowledge has definitely increased! I am also learning how to integrate the Bible into all of my classes and assignments.

Great for these types of students

If you have dreams, if you want the impossible, if you strive for excellence, if you want the best, if you want to succeed, if you want a consistently Judeo-Christian approach to education, then Cedarville is the place for you. The students here are intent on being excellent in whatever they do, and they are passionate about their faith.

    Tips for prospective students

Do not be afraid to ask for help or to ask questions of the current students! They are more than happy to answer your concerns or respond to comments that you may have concerning the University. Everyone tends to be very helpful and kind.

    Bang for the buck

The cost is prohibitively expensive for many students - some cannot come back second semester or are forced to transfer to other schools in order to save money. The school has been improving on this by offering more scholarship dollars to students in the last few years, but this is certainly an on-going struggle. If you can afford to go to Cedarville, it is worth every penny! Great students, competent faculty, and premium facilities make this institution first-class in every way.

    Am enjoying being here

From the very first day you arrive on the CU Campus, students and staff alike welcome you into the 'Ville family! Getting Started Weekend allows freshman and transfer students to get to know each other before the rest of the students body, allowing them to forge important friendships and get used to campus before classes start. The students are friendly and helpful, and they are courteous to both visitors and their peers. With approximately 3,000 students attending Cedarville University, it is a large student body that allows everyone plenty of opportunities to get involved in student organizations (approx. 70+ on campus), student government, and volunteering for events held on site. At the same time there is a family atmosphere and the campus is not excessively large or impersonal.

    Am learning a lot

The faculty of Cedarville University are highly qualified, many of the professors holding doctorates in their field. The class sizes are reasonable, allowing for one-on-one time with the professors, who are both helpful and accommodating to students.

Great for these types of students

Students who want to live in a Christian environment, can follow some rules, and want to be challenged academically and spiritually. Cedarville is out in the country, which I love, but some people find that difficult to deal with.

    Tips for prospective students

Definitely start looking for scholarships early. Sites like Cappex and Fastweb are helpful. Also look at scholarships that Cedarville itself offers, and don't forget other sources, such as military scholarships. If you have a job, start saving money for college. Talk to your parents about how much they will be able to help you out financially. Keep a resume of everything you do during high school. This will be helpful for applications for school and scholarships. Send in your application early, and it's helpful if you have plenty of volunteer and ministry experience. Visit campus at least once to get a feel for the area, and make sure you look at some dorm rooms to get an idea of where you'll be living. Talk to faculty, staff, your admissions counselor, etc - make sure you ask plenty of questions. Get to know other students on facebook before you start school.

    Bang for the buck

Cedarville is without doubt a very expensive school. However, I believe that in many (but not all) cases, the more you pay, the better your education will be. There have been news stories recently about less expensive nursing schools having to shut down because they were not providing a quality education for their students. I do not think anything like that is likely to happen at Cedarville. The only reason I'm here at Cedarville is because of scholarship money, and I believe that is the case for many students. Even with the scholarships, affording school has caused some worry for my family. However, I do think that I will be able to afford 4 years at Cedarville, and that the money invested will be worth it.

    Am enjoying being here

I love the environment here at Cedarville. I have visited many other schools where I didn't feel at home or at times did not even feel safe. Cedarville, on the other hand, has always seemed like a home away from home. Since Cedarville is a Christ-centered university, my days are full of Christian fellowship - which sometimes means prayer and Bible study, and other times means just hanging out with friends, going for a walk, playing a game, etc. I have met so many friends in my first semester here, and even people who I'm not friends with are always ready to give me a smile. This is not to say that I don't miss home and my family sometimes, but I always have friends to support me. And with the number of missionary kids who are thousands of miles away from home, it's a little hard to feel sorry for myself.

    Am learning a lot

Cedarville has definitely challenged me academically. Some of the general education courses have been easy and it seems like some of the information we studied was either common sense or material that was covered in high school. But other courses have made me take my studying, time management, and thinking to a new level in order to pass. (That's a good thing, in case you were wondering.) Cedarville has an excellent, free tutoring system for students, which I have used several times. Professors are easy to approach and talk to. I know it sounds cliche, but they really do care about students and take their responsibilities toward us seriously. Sometimes the amount of reading or writing that I have is overwhelming, but I have found that I have never been given more than I can handle, as long as I handle my resources well.

Great for these types of students

Outgoing, hard working students will do best here. I am neither, yet I also found myself enjoying the school. It has an environment that really welcomes any type of student, but if you want to do well, you need to make sure to work hard.

    Tips for prospective students

Be willing to learn, and put yourself out there. If you hole up in your room and don't talk to anyone or slack off, it will be a wast of time and money. Make sure to go to all classes, because even the gen. eds. are difficult enough. Making good friends is essential too, so make sure you find people to hang out with.

    Bang for the buck

While it is really expensive, I think the price is worth it. Being a good Christian school that has great teaching and many opportunities is great. They also supply a desktop in every room that has many great programs on it. Overall, despite the price, which most certainly will put you in debt, the opportunities far outweigh the negative aspects.

    Am enjoying being here

This is a great environment. The people are always nice and you can talk to pretty much anyone you want. However, being so far away from home is a slight let down for me, but the friends you make here surely make up for it.

    Am learning a lot

Every class I have attended so far has been really beneficial. Not only is class a good time to learn, but having chapel every single day has a good impact with learning. Almost everything you do you learn a lot.

Great for these types of students

Community driven students, Christians, students who love the arts, engineering and nursing students, and those who love small towns.

    Tips for prospective students

Stay in Printy Hall if you're a girl!! There is such a sense of community there and you will get to know the girls in your unit and the unit across the bathroom so well, it'll be like having 15 sisters in Christ!

    Bang for the buck

It is expensive, but they have pretty good scholarships available.

    Will enjoy being here

It has chapel every day of the week, so duh! :) There is a very strong sense of community there that I love and campus is next to a small town and a huge cornfield, so there are two more big points there!

    Will learn a lot

The classes were amazing!! The professors managed to bring humor into the classroom but also taught stimulating classes. In a music theory class I sat in on, the professor had every student participate in the class. It was amazing!

Cedarville is a great school for people who like to be involved. There is a wide range of extracurricular activities. Cedarville is just the right size that you can always meet new people and still maintain a close group of friends.

    Tips for prospective students

Work hard in high school and the transition into college will be less difficult.

    Bang for the buck

Cedarville may not be the cheapest school but for what you get for your money it's worth it. They offer the best, the chapel speakers are amazing. They keep it new, current and exciting by switching things up.

    Am enjoying being here

Almost every weekend they have something exciting for you to do. They show new release movies sometimes right on campus. Game nights where you can play laser tag or Wii games. Cedarville is serious when it comes to school work but they know when and how to loosen up and have fun.

    Am learning a lot

The courses that I have taken have challenged me and taught me so much. It has made me a better student and giving me a leg up for when graduate and get a job.

brock to the rock for guys in the brock dorm. painting the cu rock is an everyday event that many of the students do.

    Bang for the buck

it is an expensive school. there are some scholarships available, but not too many. there are plenty of loans and aid available though.

you can get involved in intramural sports and orgs. the gym is open most hours of the day, as well as a game room easily accessible.

    Food and Dining

the food is alright most of the time. once in a while there is something really good. for each holiday, the cafeteria goes all out with the food and its a great celebration.

the dorms are older and some of the dorms are smaller. but the smaller dorms are great for freshman and transfers to meet new students as well and get to know people.

    Academic Rigor

cedarville is most known for their hard academic program. it is hard, but it is so worth it. you learn alot that you will use throughout the rest of your life.

Great for these types of students

Great for Christian students hoping to strengthen their faith and gain a more global worldview, and students hoping to use their major and degree for missions.

    Tips for prospective students

If you plan on transferring in the middle of the year make sure you know someone or be prepared to be very outgoing in order to make friends. Be persistent if you need something like a letter of recommendation or something, and have fun. You only have a couple of years in college, so make sure you get the most out of it as far as your education goes. Study hard and have fun!

    Bang for the buck

Cedarville is expensive, particularly for a student whose parents can't put any money towards the cost, but there are some scholarships and grants available. The education and relationships are definitely worth it, but it isn't cheap!

    Am enjoying being here

It took me a little while to adjust and make friends because I didn't really know anyone at Cedarville when I started in the middle of the year, but after several weeks I was able to connect with my dorm mates and classmates. The people make it worth it!

    Am learning a lot

Part of why I chose Cedarville University was to have more challenging courses than I had been taking at my local community college. Cedarville's professors are well-educated and interested in the students' lives and helping them succeed while also challenging them to learn a lot and work hard.

Christian students who are committed to academic excellence.

    Tips for prospective students

Attend a CU Friday! It allows you to really see what campus life is like as well as attending classes, eating in the cafeteria, and touring the dorms.

    Bang for the buck

I love Cedarville, but it's quite expensive and doesn't hand out a lot of financial to people who don't get a lot of government money already. They do give more scholarship money to you as you stay, however.

    Will enjoy being here

Do not be fooled by the cornfields surrounding this smaller campus--Cedarville's campus is quite vibrant. Not only is it fun and exciting, but it's also small enough that you feel like one big family.

    Will learn a lot

Cedarville is really committed to not only providing a solid Christian education, but also an extremely academically rigorous one. In addition, the professors are always encouraging growth not only in knowledge, but also as a person. Cedarville trully provides a well-rounded education!

Cedarville is a great place for students who are willing to work hard and get involved. It also has a very strong christian environment.

    Tips for prospective students

Look around, there are a TON of different kinds of colleges out there. Also ask around, people are full of good advice! And make sure you visit campuses once you narrow it down, this really cements which college to chose.

    Bang for the buck

Although it is a little pricey, I feel very confident that the experience will more than make up for the cost!

    Will enjoy being here

I have visited the campus twice. Both times I was blown away by the friendliness of all (not just the staff.) The atmosphere was very positive and I loved it! They also offer a HUGE range of extracurricular activities that I can't wait to get involved in. Another plus is that they have now begun to use a facebook application that helps you find a roommate, which was super helpful!

    Will learn a lot

I have spoken to a few professors there, and past students. By all accounts this is a great school for learning! They have a passion for academics and you learn a lot!

Great for these types of students

Great for non-athletes. The schedule is definitely more manageable when not playing a sport. Some of the professors don't understand the load that is placed on athletes so that gets pretty tough.

    Tips for prospective students

Make sure your priorities are in line because sleep can be forgotten in the scheduling of your day.

    Bang for the buck

I would say it's a great value. The school is just so expensive that it's still a lot of money to pay. They provide great connections for most students coming out of school and the professors are generally genuinely interested in your growth and learning as a student.

    Did enjoy being here

I enjoyed the atmosphere of the school itself. Being from Florida became a bit of a strain because of the dreary weather during the winter.

    Did learn a lot

I learned a lot in school, but also learned a lot about life.

They are always around campus cruising around. They are generally friendly and you can always call them.

    Greek Life

There isn't much of a Greek life here. So there's no pressure to join. They don't have houses or anything. And they are mainly focused on volunteer work.

    Clubs and Activities

If you want to get involved, you definitely can! There are committees, clubs, ministries, intramural sports, worship groups, glee clubs, and many many more!

Great for these types of students

If you are a Christian looking to grow even more in your faith during your college years, check out Cedarville! All of the programs are top-notch. Nursing and Engineering are the most common majors.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

When people get engaged, the guy gets laked - thrown into the lake in the middle of campus. Also, there's no kissing on campus. And people aren't allowed into the dorm rooms of members of the opposite gender. There are a lot of awkward couples floating around.

    Bang for the buck

The tuition is up there, but scholarships are available, and it's definitely worth it. If you allow yourself to have an open mind and soak in all that Cedarville has to offer, you will love it here!

    What to do for fun

There are Alt Nights about once a month, which includes movies being shown on campus and Just Dance and other fun activities. Playing board games is fun. Wally-ball and racquetball are big here. A lot of people do intramural sports. Walmart is 20 minutes away. And people go out for pizza at Colonial's, which is down the street.

    Food and Dining

Chuck's is the name of our cafeteria. It's a big buffet, so you never have to worry about not having enough to eat. And there are lots of choices, including an all-day-long breakfast bar.

    Dorm Life

I have made the best friends ever here! I particularly like the dorms that have units instead of halls because it's more of a family atmosphere, so it's easier to get to know people.

    Academic Rigor

It's challenging, and you will learn a lot, but it's do-able.

    Tips for prospective students

Visit! The tuition is high, but it's worth it. And when you visit, make sure you come to chapel. Chapel is a major part of going to school here. Students attend chapel services every day for an hour, Monday through Friday.

    In three sentences

Cedarville is an amazing place. If you are looking for God, fun, friends, and a great education, you should check out Cedarville. It's a fantastic environment!

    Bang for the buck

i'm not going to sugarcoat it: cedarville is expensive. but from the students i've talked to, it's completely worth every penny.

    What to do for fun

ive heard that tons of activities take place on the weekend. plus, there are bike trails, hiking trails, ping pong, volleyball, pool, and, of course, the climbing wall!! there is also an exercise class that's pretty sweet. :p

    Food and Dining

um...not completely sure about the food. but i've viewed the webcam (go to resoundradio.com to view it), and it looks pretty yummy! plus, it's pretty reasonably priced. (i'm just going to have to watch out; don't want the freshman 15!)

    Dorm Life

this is the part that impresses me the most. i was so terrified about college because of the dorms, and not getting along with my roommate, but cedarville students are so welcoming and kind. i know that the living situations are awesome!

    Academic Rigor

    What to do for fun

There are many different organizations and clubs to get involved in. If you want to play a sport you can get involved with inter murals, if you're looking to just go to the gym, workout, play basketball or even rock climb the Athletic Center is there for your convenience. There's also almost always a school event occurring. If you're not doing homework you can go to the student center and grab some coffee and even chat with some friends. If you're ever wanting to take a walk, longboard, ride your bike, play frisbee, football or whatever, the campus itself is a great place to do so. Although Cedarville is in the heart of cornfields, at a maximum 30 minute drive you can find almost anything and everything to do from bowling to zip lining.

    Food and Dining

There is a wide variety of food to choose from. You have Habanero, Breakfast Bar, Fresh off the Grill, Pizza, Home Cooked, Dessert, Sub line, Grill, Salad bar and Ice Cream bar. You will never run out of options and can always eat what you want and however much of it. Its an endless buffet of deliciousness!

    Dorm Life

Unit style and Hall style are the two choices. No co-ed dorms. This is a great way to meet some lifelong friends. Theres ALWAYS a great sense of community and you will always feel like you're at home when you go back to your room. It's also full of fun and can be a great place to relax, socialize and study.

    Academic Rigor

The courses and classes provided here are a challenge. If you are seeking to challenge yourself then this is the place to do it. Engineering and Nursing are the 2 most applied majors here at Cedarville. When looking for a job, those who see that a student has studied at Cedarville know that they have a good potential employer on their hands. After students graduate, almost none have a problem finding a great job afterwards. The professors are always willing to work hard with the students to ensure success.

    Tips for prospective students

Always ask questions if you are unsure of something, there is always someone to provide you with the best advice and direction and there is always someone who is willing to help you out. Never feel shy, theres always someone willing to take time away from their (usually busy schedules) to help anyone out. Be prepared to work hard and study hard. You will learn to manage time and will definitely grow. It's a great place to become an adult. Leaving Mom and Dad may seem hard but when you're here there's always something to do. Cedarville keeps you busy and on your toes! Academically, spiritually, and with fun activities.

    In three sentences

Cedarville provides students with challenging courses that are Biblically grounded. The community that the students are immersed in is positive, friendly and uplifting. If you were to look for a college that based its truths out of the Bible and applied it into their very challenging studies and had one of the friendliest campuses then this is the place for you!

    Bang for the buck

I would say Cedarville is relatively competitive among other private institutions; however it's still ridiculously expensive. I don't honestly want to be here any longer, but still feel God calling me here so I'm still here, and I would say it has benefits. I don't think I would have survived in my program at any other school. It is a direct result of a professor who came to me to figure out why I was stuck that I've made it this far. I froze up, but he made it a point to talk to me and now I'm doing quite well in my major classes. So I will say you won't get that elsewhere. Again I don't know other departments as well, but I know the engineering program is one of the best out there, and we really learn a lot. As well I do feel like most professors genuinely care about you which is really a great thing. Even so make sure you are where God wants you, and know he will provide if you are following him, but that doesn’t mean it’ll be easy to keep strong in that faith as the pressure of owing so much start to overwhelm you.

    What to do for fun

Anymore I don't really do much for fun. I'm not even taking that many credits but I still feel like I'm always busy (Junior this year). However I do remember Freshmen year hanging out with friends a lot. We actually did Bible studies sometimes (no unfortunately doesn't seem to common here but you can find if you look), as well as movies and studying that consisted of a lot of talking and little homework at times. Long lunches and dinners at chucks were also pretty common back then. They are always doing things on campus, plays, movies, random games and events you can join in with. And of course Walmart is a common hang out place, not sure why, but my friends at least are always taking trips. They probably like just getting off campus which can be fun.

    Food and Dining

People constantly complain about Chucks the local dining hall. It does have its fault. But it is a school cafeteria, and I honestly think they do really well. No it's not home cooking but there are a lot of options. Pizza and pasta bar is normally open, as well as taco bar, sandwich lines and breakfast foods including bagels, waffles cereal. My favorite part is the ability to cook. There are fruits and vegetables every day, granted not much rotation, so you have to get creative, but there are a number including tomatoes, lettuce, onions, green peppers, mushrooms, apples and others. You can make a salad, or use them to add to your taco, or sandwich, including different kinds of tortilla wraps and pita bread. One thing I like to do is make stir fry like dishes using varies veggies and seasonings and then cooking on one of the grills we have open to us putting it on top of pasta or rice. And they also rotate main dishes along with other things that are out regularly. It can get old, and the quality isn’t always the best, but overall I would say food options at chucks are pretty good.

    Dorm Life

I've enjoyed my dorm living having ended up in a good dorm freshmen year. However friends haven't had as good of an experience as I have, so you might end up in a negative environment still. Sometimes that includes personalty clashes, but it could also be due to differing values. You'll find not everyone at Cedarville is Christian, despite the proclamations they make to get in. Sometimes this can even include breaking rules such as drinking, even underage and drugs.

    Academic Rigor

At least in the engineering field I would say that Cedarville is academically rigorous. If you aren't motivated to do well, it may not be the best environment. While I don't think students try to be competitive, I would say generally on campus students have a higher level of expectation of what doing well in classes are than average. Although that could be due to a desire to keep scholarships that rely on academic standing as well.

    Tips for prospective students

Make sure to pray talking to God about the decision, don't just go with it. Try to transfer classes from back home or other schools online. You can save a lot of money that way, and honestly I didn't gain anything better from taking the gen eds at Cedarville that I wouldn't have elsewhere. Try to find all your books on classifieds or online, the bookstore is more expensive than necessary. Consider getting an older version of the textbook. You can email your professor as soon as they give you your schedule and ask if an older text book will work, sometimes they can be a pain if you do homework problems a lot, but if you are just reading the book, it really doesn't make a difference. Get enough sleep, hardly anyone does here, but it's critical, and 7 hours is not a good nights sleep, try 8. If you have an 8 o'clock class, it's probably better to switch until 9 unless you are really disciplined about getting to sleep early. An hour might not seem a big deal, but it adds up pretty quickly when it's an hour less than you need every night. I personally need closer to 9 to be rested.

It's always fun laking a newly-engaged mister; and at the end of every year there's an amazing dress-up and have fun talent night known as Elliv (Ville backwards). Of course there's more. Tips for prospective students

I would suggest saving up in advance; the place ain't cheap! But they give a fair deal of help there. Make sure you are dedicated to learning what you drop into; this isn't some Northeasy State! (BTW, that means that although there is NO law that you have to go to higher ed, if you want real MEAT this place has it!) Seek God's kingdom and His righteousness, and He'll take care of you. Including getting you through these next years.

    In three sentences

According to its mission statement, Cedarville University is a Christ-centered learning community equipping students for lifelong leadership and service through an education marked by excellence and grounded in biblical truth. It is one of the few Christian schools with a rigorous, accredited engineering program -- for instance, once it beat the Navy in a SolarSplash boating competition; this year it was first among college entries in Shell's supermileage competition. I have much enjoyed and grown in the Lord because He graciously provides an education here that teaches one how to go and make disciples in engineering, nursing, teaching, finances, arts; the list goes on.

    Campus Safety

Cedarville is an incredibly safe campus. Campus safety is always driving around, checking on everyone. The University Medical Services (UMS) is a doctor's office located right on campus. Most students go there for minor illnesses. UMS has its on EMS that is staffed by volunteer students who have completed the EMT course given by Cedarville's volunteer fire department.

    Greek Life

Greek life at CU has been changed into what we call orgs. CU does not have a Greek life. Instead, they are academic organizations. The organizations do a really nice job of putting on dinners and fun activities for its members. A lot of times, the organizations will do a fundraiser for a charity by doing something fun for the rest of the campus.

    Clubs and Activities

There a lot of clubs and activities on campus. Since Cedarville is in the middle of nowhere, the school makes sure that there are plenty of clubs and activities for students to get involved in. Every student participates in at least one club or activity. A lot of the activities are volunteer opportunities.

Great for these types of students

Students who are academically driven and who want to grow in their relationship with Jesus. Also, students who do not mind living in the country, away from the city.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

In Chuck's, when someone breaks a dish everybody claps. Also, when a guy proposes, the other guys in his dorm hall sneak up on him and thrown him in Cedar Lake. The cardboard canoe race is put on every September by the engineering department. All of the freshmen engineering majors have to build a cardboard canoe and paddle 3 people across the lake without sinking.

    Bang for the buck

Cedarville is expensive. However, after spending time on campus it is clear that the money students are paying is being put to good use. The campus is always clean, the buildings are up to date, and they are always adding more academic resources. There are a plethora of academic experiences available to students at Cedarville, therefore enhancing the education experience.

    What to do for fun

The school provides a lot of fun, free on campus activities. The activity committee plays movies multiple times a month and they also do things such as laser tag. In town there is Colonia's Pizza and Mom and Dad's Dairy Bar, both of which are very good. There is also a Subway and two coffee shops. The Greene is in Dayton, and it is an outdoor mall. There are different restaurants, many different stores, and a movie theater.

    Food and Dining

Chuck's, the cafeteria, has various options. There is home cooking, Mexican, sandwiches, a rotisserie, and a vegetarian bar. There is also an all-day breakfast bar. However, because Cedarville is so small, there are not any restaurants on campus so you may have to get creative.

    Dorm Life

Dorm life is great. Everyone seems to get a long and there is always something fun happening on campus (most of the time it is free). The RAs are some of the nicest people you will ever meet and they really care about you. Also, you will form some of the closest friendships by living in a dorm.

    Academic Rigor

Academics are tough. The professors expect a lot from the students, as they should. However, the professors are more than willing to help. They love when students stop by their office.

    Tips for prospective students

Cedarville is not for everyone. You have to be driven academically and you also have to be a hard worker. Cedarville is a christian university and there are rules that students are expected to follow. Make sure you really want to be at CU. The time you spend there will be life changing.

    In three sentences

It has very good and rigorous academics. The faculty and staff are good at helping the students with whatever he or she needs. The campus is very well taken care of both by the staff and the students (who are all very friendly).

    Bang for the buck

Cedarville is a great school, the tuition is about $31,000 a year, but I think that it is worth it. You get great education and the teachers care about you as a person and not just a grade for their class. You can go in and talk to them about anything and they will listen and try to help you out in anyway that they can.

    What to do for fun

There is not much to do in Cedarville, besides stay on campus. If you don't have car, find someone to hang out with on campus, my friends and I always hung out in the theatre because it was something to do and it was fun. The school usually puts on an occasional fun night on campus. I would suggest going to them, because they are usually free or pretty cheap.

    Food and Dining

Chucks is pretty good for a cafeteria, but sometimes the food can be pretty bad. The Hive is usually good. Rinnova has really good smoothies, but if you want to spend more money on a better smother, go in town to either Stoney Creek or Beans and Cream. They are all really good.

    Dorm Life

Many of the dorms are halls, but one or two women's dorms are unit style. I am living in a hall next year, but last year I lived in a unit style. Dorm life is really a lot of fun and it helps you expand your network of contacts.

    Academic Rigor

The classes really challenge you and your professors really care.

    Tips for prospective students

Be open to try anything, but don't over-commit. My biggest problem when I was a freshman was trying to stick with the people I knew from before I moved on Campus. When i finally started reaching out and getting to know other people, it seemed that I finally got involved in campus things, but i learned that I did not come to college to have fun and hang out with people, but for the classes. Be dedicated to your class work as well as have a social life. Also, beware of walking across the bridge when it's windy...don't have your mouth open.

    In three sentences

Cedarville is an amazing college. You will learn a lot, but not just academically, but also socially and emotionally. You can become friends with people you never expected to even know.

Great for Christian students, as the Bible minor is part of the graduation requirements. Great for students that like to be involved in activities - sporting, music, drama, missions.

    Bang for the buck

Cedarville is a private university that is a bit pricey. Scholarships definitely help with the costs. The personal involvement from the teachers and advisers helps when a difficult course is offered, to help a student be successful and graduate on time. The key is to make sure you are in a degree program that will earn enough to make the cost of the education worth while.

    What to do for fun

Be ready to interact with the other students with on campus activities. There are planned campus-wide functions to keep the students involved, such as scavenger hunts, costume parties, dorm challenges. There are local festivals to attend and hiking trails to enjoy. During the winter months, there are ski trips and sledding activities.

    Food and Dining

The main dining halls are clean and offer many different types of food each day. They have special occasion meals around the holidays and as the semesters end.

    Dorm Life

The dorms are nice, clean, all two person dorm rooms, all same sex dorms. There are central rooms for interaction and activities, such as ping pong. The school requires the students to be on campus 3 years unless approval is received to go off campus.

    Academic Rigor

The school is smaller, so the class sizes are smaller, and the teachers can spend time with the students to help if extra assistance is required. The classes are demanding and the school encourages internships or hands on learning, by being involved in the local schools to gain real life experience.

    Tips for prospective students

Be prepared to live on campus for a minimum of 3 years, as there is not a lot of outside housing available in the area. Be open to getting involved in the campus activities to meet other students. The school is in a small community, so getting involved will help with adjusting to being away from home. Use the writing lab to help deliver written assignments that are of a greater quality. Bring warm clothes! Winters are cold and the wind is strong walking to class.

    In three sentences

Cedarville is a safe environment and a beautiful campus. The university is strong academically, and has many extra curricular activities to keep a student involved and socializing with the other students. The Christian focus helps the students learn to defend their faith and be successful in all fields of discipline.

Cedarville is a great school in every area. The university is very strong academically, and professors are great with helping students rise to the challenge. The campus climate is very friendly, and with about 3,200 students, the student body is large enough to make friends in many different circles, yet small enough to still feel somewhat like family when walking past someone you don't know.

    Campus Safety

Cedarville is a very safe campus, with crimes being a rarity.

    Clubs and Activities

There's a club for whatever you want, intramural sports for the casual athletic, collegiate sports for the more competitive, and weekly events for everyone else.

Great for these types of students

Christians who desire a solid spiritual foundation as well as excellent academics. Cedarville has an excellent Bible department, and is known for their Engineering and Nursing departments quality of education. The students who attend the university are generally of excellent caliber, which aids the very low crime rate at Cedarville.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

Guys who get engaged are laked, or thrown into Cedar Lake with all their clothes on by a large group of people. The dorm, Brock, makes a late night Brock to the Rock run in their underwear every semester.

    Bang for the buck

Cedarville is not cheap, but you pay for excellent faculty and staff (low student-teacher ratio), excellent university food, and a beautiful well kept campus.

    What to do for fun

Local coffee roaster in town as well as small restaurants. 4 parks within 15 minutes. 30 minutes to Fairfield Commons Mall or the Greene outdoor mall. Plenty of on campus activities both planned (such as movie nights of unreleased movies) and unplanned (state of the art athletic facilities).

    Food and Dining

For a university cafeteria, Chucks is top-notch, all you can eat of both prepared and unprepared (if you like to cook your own food) foods. It includes an ice cream bar with soft and hard serve ice cream to your hearts content.

    Dorm Life

While Cedarville is not a party school, its residents know how to have fun together. Most dorms have a close knit community (especially Lawlor for the men, and Maddox for the women) and engage in a variety of activities to do together. RA's facilitate events for their units/halls, and campus wide dorm activities such as Campus Christmas are a university favorite.

    Academic Rigor

Don't expect easy A's. While not an Ivy League school, Cedarville challenges its students to excel in academics, and many departments perform in the top tiers of national competitions.

    Tips for prospective students

Guys, don't go to Brock first semester, but pick a more Freshman friendly dorm such as Lawlor or The Hill. Female freshman typically go to Printy, where the atmosphere tends to be conducive to the new student. Talk to your advisor about your schedule before you start classes. Get to know your professors, and if you put effort into understanding the material, they'll put effort into helping you master it. If you have an option between an internship and a student project, aim for the internship. The experience in a real world situation is second to none.

    In three sentences

Cedarville strives for excellence in academics through rigorous programs. The faculty and staff are generally extremely helpful and take the time to get to know their students.Student life, though not for the partiers, is excellent and you build lasting friendships with fellow students.

    Bang for the buck

Expensive but worth every penny in my opinion. Look into scholarships.

    What to do for fun

Cedarville is within twenty minutes of anything you might want or need. Cedarville itself is small, but Colonial Pizza is always a delicious option for off campus meals and the two coffee shops never disappoint. As far as on-campus activities, Cedarville often hosts concerts and shows newly released movies in carnival-like settings. They always have something fun planned for the entire student body.

    Food and Dining

Chucks (the cafeteria) is definitely on the high end of cafeterias especially when it comes to self-prepared food. Just like every cafeteria, I find myself sometimes getting bored, but with the grills, sandwich smashers, all day breakfast, and salad bar, I always find something to satisfy.

    Dorm Life

Cedarville works hard to improve dorm life all the time. I personally love the relationships I can have with my unit mates and RA, and even though some of the rooms are on the small side, I never found any reason to complain.

    Academic Rigor

I don't have another college to which I can compare Cedarville's academic rigor, but I find the courses both challenging, applicable and helpful in my understanding of the world, and the professors are always there to help if I get overwhelmed.

    Tips for prospective students

Prospective students should not get freaked out by the rule book. Cedarville has high standards for their students, but none of their guidelines are unfair or restraining. Visit campus and talk with current students to get a feel for everyday college life!

Brock to the Rock is where all the guys from Brock Hall run to the Spirit Rock in their underwear a few minutes before midnight during the fall. A bunch of people gather around and take pictures and video it.

    Food and Dining

Our cafeteria (called Chuck's) has several bars that one can choose from. There is a pizza, sub, home cook, grill, salad, breakfast, ice cream/desserts and a cook/grill it yourself bar, The home cooking is usually pretty good and it changes day to day as well as the grill bar. It is provides for good variety.

    Dorm Life

The dorm life is okay but it is different for every residence hall. I am in a unit style dorm, which means that it is set up like an apartment. There is a lounge that connects four rooms and a bathroom. The rooms are pretty small so you need to be creative with the furniture to fit everything in it, especially if you have a lot of stuff. Each room has two people in it. I room with upperclassmen (I'm a freshman) so I don't have very much in common with them and they've already got their friends. Everyone is nice though and we all get along.

    Academic Rigor

It is a pretty rigorous school in terms of academics but it isn't too bad considering I am majoring in Social Work. They definitely try to keep you busy. The classes require me to have good study habits and to just study in general.

    Tips for prospective students

Don't be scared to get involved; take the initiative and talk to everyone. Participate in things outside of your classes to help you make friends with the same interests as you.

At college, there will always be nicknames for certain places on campus, and Cedarville is no exception. The first few weeks are hectic, trying to figure out all the abbreviations and where the meet market is, but it gets fun once you know where you're going.

    What to do for fun

Living in a small town, there are always the local coffee shops, or you can drive a few minutes to get to more interesting and busy towns. I usually stick around during the week, and have a fun field trip out on the weekend to do homework and enjoy a meal off campus.

    Food and Dining

Campus food is what you make of it. It's not going to be just like your kitchen at home, but here, there is something for everyone. If you want cereal 24/7, have at it. No one is going to tell you what to eat or when, but there are definite ways you can eat well and eat healthy when on a college campus.

    Dorm Life

Dorm life is one thing I was unsure about. Having my own room at home, I now have to share. I had three to four people in my house, and now, I live in a hall of 23 other women, in the largest women's dorm on campus, housing over 300. I love the friendships I have built just thru living with these ladies. I am very happy with dorm life and everyone was so welcoming and friendly to me.

    Academic Rigor

Even just as a freshman, the engineering program is living up to all the hype about a lot of work. I enjoy working hard and learning, so this school definitely has given me a lot to do. I am constantly challenged academically, and I am very thankful that the faculty and staff here do all they can to help me and every student succeed.

    Tips for prospective students

Everyone will ask you what you're planning on majoring in. Don't be pressured into thinking you have to just pick one. If you aren't sure, consider coming in as an Undecided major and let this great school help you find where God has planned for you to go.

    In three sentences

Cedarville is great for anyone who wants to be challenged to grow in their faith in Christ, and develop a heart to see the world changed for God's kingdom.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

Campus Christmas is the favorite for the majority of the students at Cedarville. There is nothing like having the university president read Christmas stories! There is a message board located near the Cedar lake that is also known as the rock. It is literally a rock that students paint with messages for their friends! Another odd tradition is the ever awkward pick-a-date. This is the female students chance to pick dates for their friends to be set up with, and take the group out for an evening of mischief and surprise! Who knows what will come of a freshmen girl developing a crush on a junior guy?

    Bang for the buck

The extra services provided by Cedarville are incredible. Free laundry, a print quota that never ends, free gym membership, cheap vehicle registration, and on and on the options go! I am amazed what they do with the price for the school. While the price to attend for an on campus student is private education pricing, it is low on the scale of what most private institutions charge. Most things are paid for upfront, which is great for the student who is looking to just do school, and not worry about what to spend their few dollars on.

    What to do for fun

There are so many opportunities that exist just on campus! Just about every weekend, there are at least two major events going on, and plenty of organizations that support other-than-crazy-homework chances to relax or stimulate the mind. If you want to get off campus, there are three cities within an hour drive. Movies, the zoo (Columbus, home to Jack Hannah!), and every restaurant or other group activity you can think of is only a short distance away from Cedarville.

    Food and Dining

While the cafeteria is not always open, there seems to always be enough healthy food to keep a student going. There are some students are think that Chuck's (the main cafeteria) is terrible, but I have found that there are so many options that you can't help but be overwhelmed by it! I like to cook some, which is certainly an opportunity in Chuck's, with a self-cook grill and plenty of items to throw together. Downstairs from Chuck's there's the Hive, which is more of a restaurant that cafeteria. You will find plenty of good food there, too. The menu is varied enough, and the food portions plenty.

    Dorm Life

Dorm life comes down to the experience of your dormmates. This is certainly a strength at Cedarville, as the students of this institution are of the highest quality! The dorms themselves are comfortable and located in places that are easy to get to class and back.

    Academic Rigor

Cedarville puts out students who are ready to take on whatever challenges they throw at the world. There is no place on earth a Cedarville graduate is not capable of thriving and leading in their discipline. That being said, Cedarville is a tough school, academically. Some majors are designed to allow you the freedom to explore outside opportunities (internships, businesses, etc.), while other majors are subject intensive (nursing, engineering, bio pre-med). You will be stretched in a way that only makes you that much more prepared to catch the world by surprise.

    Tips for prospective students

Come to Cedarville! First, take the time in prayer and searching our God for the needs you have in completing an education. Second, consider your own desire to be challenged, don't just go to Cedarville to go to college. Third, challenge the professors of your desired major to answer concerns you have. You will be surprised by the interest they take in you!

    In three sentences

Cedarville is an opportunity to go wherever your imagination will take you. Through the supportive, enriching Christian atmosphere, you will find that God has a plan for you, using the gifts that he has placed in you. Cedarville has been a blessing through my fellow students, who are always encouraging; the faculty, who will seriously stop and listen or pray with you; and the staff who make life simple, clean, and livable.

A few days before Christmas break, the staff stays up all night making homemade cinnamon rolls for the entire student body. The campus also engages in a dorm wide decorating competition finished with a concert, midnight breakfast, and stories read by the President of the University.

    Campus Safety

I always feel completely safe on campus. If I have to walk outside after dark, I don't feel like I need to be looking over my shoulder constantly. We have campus safety that you can call if you need it.

    Greek Life

There is no Greek life on campus.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

There are many unusual traditions on campus. Lots of dorms have special traditions. My dorm, Printy, has Printy wars where every unit dresses up with a theme and then competes in small events for the title of Printy Wars Champion. Around Christmas we have Campus Christmas where each hall of unit decorates to a theme and then other students can come around and look at all of the decorations.

    What to do for fun

As Cedarville is in the middle of cornfields, we have to create our own fun. There are a lot of events planned on campus. When the weather is nice, we set up a huge, blow-up video screen outside and watch movies there. There are also concerts scheduled with famous bands--such as Phil Whickam and Gungor.

    Food and Dining

There is only one cafeteria on campus, so it gets busy sometimes. Also the food is sometimes questionable, but I find enough to eat to survive. As a picky eater, I was concerned that I would starve in college, but Chuck's has a large variety of choices for every meal and I always find something I like.

    Dorm Life

I love my dorm! I live in a unit style dorm, so there are 16 of us girls that share a bathroom. We are all very good friends and are continuing to grow closer to eachother and to God through our interactions with eachother. I couldn't imagine a better place to start out my college career than where I am now.

    Academic Rigor

Cedarville does an excellent job creating challenging classes that are not overwhelming. I feel that I am going to be very well prepared to hold a job when I graduate. I love all of my classes and the professors are all very well qualified and care about the success of their students.

    Greek Life

There is no Greek life, although some of the orgs do have Greek names, not to be confused with sororities or fraternities.

    Clubs and Activities

There are a fairly wide variety of clubs and activities to get involved in. You receive emails daily of events that different orgs are holding and how they want you to get involved. It's easy to get connected.

Great for these types of students

    Christians, academically driven, conservative

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

It depends on what you get involved in which traditions you experience. All of them are good, though.

    Bang for the buck

You get what you pay for. It's a little bit more expensive, but the academics are excellent, the people are generally wonderful, the food is good, and the atmosphere is typically very pleasant.

    What to do for fun

This is easier if you have a car, which I do. Cedarville is a bit isolated and, while events do happen on campus from time to time, you may find yourself somewhat bored living in what is referred to as the Cedarville bubble. I personally find it much more enjoyable to go to the Greene in Dayton or the Fairfield Commons Mall in Beavercreek than stick around during the weekends.

    Food and Dining

As college food goes, Cedarville has some of the best. There are lots of options and the food is normally pretty decent.

    Dorm Life

I lived in the typical freshman girls' dorm this year so I had a different experience than others might in other dorms. Printy Hall is divided into units, 8 rooms with 2 girls in each room with a bathroom connecting them to another 8 rooms, so I've grown comfortable with the unit style of life. It is incredibly easy to make friends and people are generally very easy to get along with.

    Academic Rigor

Classes are definitely more difficult than high school and you have to be prepared to give forth a substantial amount of effort to succeed. However, you are provided with multiple outlets where you are able to receive help.

    Tips for prospective students

I would say make sure that it is your decision to come here, otherwise you will probably end up wanting to leave. It's really a fantastic place to be if you are looking for a good, solid Christian school. For the most part, the people are wonderful, the profs are always really great and helpful, and it is pretty easy to make friends.

    In three sentences

Cedarville is a very nice school in a lot of ways. The campus is very nice, the facilities are up to date, the school is technologically advanced, the academics are very good, and there are ways to get involved in the community. However, the rules are very strict, you are required to go to chapel 5 days a week and can only have 8 unexcused skips in a semester, you are not allowed to wear sweatpants to class or chapel, and the curfew is midnight on weeknights and 1 on weekends.

    What to do for fun

Cedarville is a small town so there's not much to do in the town itself. However there are malls within 25 minutes off campus. These factors encourage people to spend time together, whether playing games, sports, or just hanging out.

    Food and Dining

The food is not the greatest. The best food is offered when there are visitation days for prospective students. You often leave the cafeteria, called Chucks, smelling like a big mix of all the aromas coming from the food. However it is not often hard to find a seat. While you may need to walk around a minute or so, you always find a seat.

    Dorm Life

There are two housing styles-- traditional dorms and units. Units are made up of 8 rooms, which have 2 students in each room. These students share a bathroom connects 2 halls made up of 4 rooms. Benefits of a traditional style include: bigger rooms and possibly more quiet/alone time. Negatives of a dorm style are: less community oriented and further away from main buildings. Benefits of a unit style include: close-knit relationships and they're closer to main buildings. Negatives are: cramped living space and a greater need for effort in getting along with all others within the unit.

    Academic Rigor

Professors really know their materials. Therefore they also know how to give homework to ensure you know what is necessary in order to pass their class. It is often challenging if time management is not a strong suit. In order to succeed knowing how to manage your time efficiently is very important.

    Tips for prospective students

College is what one makes of it. Students should not dwell on policies they may not agree with or what they do not like, rather make it a goal to exceed academically and making positive, lasting memories. Cedarville also costs a lot, so students should get the most out of this college experience.

    In three sentences

Cedarville University offers a great college experience. The university encourages both academic and mental growth. Cedarville equips students so they will be ready to enter their chosen career and experience success.

    Academic Rigor

CU takes academics very seriously and they provide all sorts of resources to make sure you do well academically. The professors are really there for you, not only to teach you but to guide you to bring out the best in you.

    Tips for prospective students

Definitely visit the college. I can assure you will love the experience. Work with a counselor; they are genuinely concerned about you and will assist you in every way. You are definitely getting the best value for the investment in college. They go well above what you pay for and what other students are getting elsewhere.

    In three sentences

Cedarville University(CU) is one of the best colleges in Ohio with its only flaw being that it is not well-known; academically, the college is comparable to if not better than most colleges in the Tri-state, the graduates of CU always land good jobs after college and that is a very important aspect of a college that both students and parents are concerned about. The campus is beautiful; it has a lake in the center of the campus (my favorite), it has a rock wall, the students are all (and I do mean all) very friendly and the cafeteria meals are awesome. It is definitely a community to start one's life as an adult, a professional and a means to social change.

The lake that's located in the middle of campus has a lot of traditions and legends surrounding it. When a male student gets engaged, his friends lake him, by kidnapping him and tossing him into the lake at night. He is then expected to hug his new fiancee. Another tradition is Campus Christmas, when the whole campus gets out in their pajamas for holiday festivities and a big family Christmas experience before everyone goes home for the holidays!

    Bang for the buck

Cedarville tries to provide the full college experience while equipping students to stand out in their fields. The private school price tag is attached, but the university actively works with students to make it affordable, and it provides outstanding opportunities that other schools just can't compete with.

    What to do for fun

Concerts and events are always coming to campus! Intramural sports, theatre, the gym and rock climbing wall, and a plethora of campus organizations are ready and waiting for you to join. Community nights and movies are shown each month. Open air grilling stations are available for anyone who wants to get creative and make a unique, home-cooked meal. Fresh fruit and vegetables are always available, as well as the all-day breakfast bar. There's enough options to keep anyone from getting bored, and healthy eating is made easy - even on the go! If you need your food truly on the go, stop by The Hive, which is another meal option on campus. A small diner-style restaurant and study spot provides great meals all day, located right next to Rinnova, the campus coffee shop.

    Dorm Life

Each dorm on campus represents its own distinct culture. There is the option of unit style and hall style housing, and all dorms have coed lounges to study, talk, and maybe play a game of pool. The quiet hours ensure that everyone has a chance to rest, sleep, or study late in the night if they have to.

    Academic Rigor

The professor to student ratio is smaller at Cedarville due to its size, and while that might seem intimidating, they are truly here to care about and help you. Most likely, a couple of your professors will remember your name. The expectations are high and students enjoy a healthy competition for grades and opportunities. Academic advisors meet with you every semester to help plan your schedule and keep you on track to graduate - but you are expected to put in the effort to succeed!

    Tips for prospective students

Get involved! Visit campus and attend an academic preview day for something you think you'll be interested in studying. An admissions counselor will be assigned to you after you complete the application process, so don't be afraid to ask them any and all questions that you might have! Getting a tour of campus will help you imagine your life as a Yellow Jacket should you decide to come here. Eat in the clean, healthy cafeteria, see a theatre production, or go to a basketball game with current students. The earlier you apply, the more chances you have at getting little bonuses like tshirts, waived fees, and housing options.

    In three sentences
