Great for these types of students

This school is for students who have a God given call placed on their lives. Those who are going into ministry and want hands-on experience before they get their degree should definitely check out Central. Also listen to God and He will direct you in the way you should go.

    Tips for prospective students

Do not be afraid to be yourself. There will be obstacles and some people will challenge you but you can not let it get you down. Always try to have a positive attitude. Bring as many quarters as you can for laundry! Finally, become the leader you were meant to be. There are many opportunities when you go to school. When you learn something new, take it in, and use it to impact some one's life in the present not the future.

    Bang for the buck

This school is not the cheapest but it is also not the most expensive. I believe it is well worth it. I am paying about $16,000 per year (not semester); although, it is a burden I can already see the effects this school has had on my life.

    Am enjoying being here

Being at Central Bible College is like a second home for me. I love it here! Your build awesome relationships with those around you and some you will keep for a lifetime. CBC is not in the middle of the country, wal-mart is 3 minutes away, gas stations are closer and there are fast food places everywhere. There are always people to hang out with and things to do. I believe the best part for me is the park that CBC owns, it is on campus. The park is very relaxing with its creek, two ponds and mini waterfall.

    Am learning a lot

You always learn a lot when you step in the class room! However you should be prepared to be challenged. Most classes are interesting because the students have many questions, so there are lots of discussions during the semester.

Kids that really, truly want to make a difference. By touching a heart you have the posibility to change the destiny of that family. Why not equipe yourself to change a life. :)

    Tips for prospective students

CBC is really good about helping students. They want what is best for the kids, and they show it. Apply for as much as you can. There are many scholarship and credit opportunities. Why not apply? What can you loose.

    Bang for the buck

The price is around 10,000. That seems quite reasonable. The campus is wi-fi with DSL in the rooms. You have vending machienes, libraries, and hang out spots.

    Will enjoy being here

Even though my classes do not start till August, they have really helped me feel welcome. They have sent me letters and lots of information. They have lots of on campus activities, including a lounge room on every floor!

    Will learn a lot

Talking with the President of the University and his wife you really get to see their passion for this university. Their hearts are really beautiful. I will all heads would be as kind as them

Great for these types of students

This college is great for people who don't like large colleges and like a college that's not too expensive. It is also great for students who love to experience God and who love to live for the Lord.

    Tips for prospective students

Focus on your studies and on God. Try not to get too busy or you will get overwhelmed (especially your first year). You will also have to do an internship after your junior year/before your senior year. This will really help you experience what you will be doing when you graduate from college.

    Bang for the buck

The tuition is less than the neighboring Evangel. The tuition has gone up, but it is still less expensive than a lot of colleges/universities. It will be over 16,000 a year! (not semester) They also offer a lot of wonderful loan opportunities.

    Will enjoy being here

When I went to visit the campus I really loved it there. It was so peaceful for being in the middle of Springfield. The people there were so nice, I have already started making friends! The chapels were the best part because you got to experience God every day and get to know him on a more personal level. The campus is not that big so you get to know a lot of the people who go there.

    Will learn a lot

I have already seen the campus and I loved it. I sat in a friend's class and I really enjoyed it! The professors were really nice and they really wanted you to grasp the concept.

Great for these types of students

This college is great for people that are looking for a good school to grow closer to God and learn more about the Bible.

    Tips for prospective students

If you decide to come to this school. I would say that the school is what they make it. If you apply yourself then you can make and do great and that the new life in college is great and the people there are a lot of help to talk to you.

    Bang for the buck

The school is cheap. The teachers there could be making more money but they are there because they love just teaching us. The school also helps with helping students that can't afford it by giving us some resources.

    Am enjoying being here

I enjoy the atmosphere here the school is smaller. The teachers are very personal and you can see that they care and want to help you to well in life.

    Am learning a lot

I have learned so much going to this school. I have been learning a lot about theology and what the bible means in context and how to love people.

    Campus Safety

This has a wonderful security staff. You do not have to worry about anything.

Great for these types of students

This is a great place for those wanting to get involved in the ministry field.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

Of course, You have to go to Bass Pro. It is one of my favorite places to go to in MO.

    Bang for the buck

This place is lot cheaper than most colleges, in its tuition and room and board. The learning and the experience that you get here at CBC is one of the best.

    What to do for fun

There are many different things that you can do for fun. You can always go fishing, there is a small pond on campus and there fishing tournaments close by. But getting to go out and fellowship and minister on the weekends is always an awesome experience.

    Food and Dining

The food is better tan many schools. It is all you can eat so that is always a plus.

    Dorm Life

The dorms are pretty small, but you get used to that. But the friendships you make there, are everlasting.

    Academic Rigor

The classes can be tough but with the discipline you can maintain good grades. The professors work with you and make sure that you are doing well in their class.

    Tips for prospective students

Students who are wanting to experience a college that is focused on Christ, this is the place for you.

    In three sentences

I could not ask for a better college than Central Bible College. At Central, you can get a very awesome education and experience the presence of God wherever you go. Yes, it is a small campus but that lets you get to know more people and develop life long friendships.

    What to do for fun

There are several coffee shops around the area with a variety of different venues. There is also an ice skating rink, a roller skating rink, a few movie theaters, and several parks.

    Food and Dining

The food is not always the greatest but there is variety. You can either go to the cafeteria or to Zee's which serves hamburgers and grilled chicken sandwiches as well as a daily special.

    Dorm Life

The dorm life is wonderful! There are always girls there to help you when you are struggling and you bond so much with them. I have created some of the strongest relationships while being there. The RA's and RD's are always there to help but you also create a strong relationship with them.

    Academic Rigor

There is a lot of reading for the classes but the reading really adds to your learning and understanding of the subject. The classes are not easy but the professors are there to help you to succeed.

    Tips for prospective students

Strive to do your best and never let yourself slide by. Do all the reading and do not procrastinate. Never be afraid to ask any professor or the pastors to help you.

    In three sentences

Central Bible College is a fantastic college not only for the level of learning that they provide but also for the habitat for spiritual growth that they provide. The professors are always there to help any student no matter who they are. The entire campus is a family.

    Campus Safety

I actually work for security on campus and can say that the guards do a fine job at patrolling the grounds and making sure that everyone stay protected.

    Greek Life

    There are none on campus.

    Clubs and Activities

The school offers worship teams, drama teams, dance teams, and student government positions.

Great for these types of students

This school is great for Bible focused students that are looking for a more personal environment to grow in faith as well as knowledge of the Bible.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

The school offers a competition called battle of the dorms. Here the school has eating contests, contests of strength, speed, and endurance. At the end of it all, one hall receives an award, plus a pizza party!

    Bang for the buck

It is a very cheap school, but the education you get from it is more than what you paid for. It is really worth every penny.

    What to do for fun

The school offers a gym, and outside basket ball court for those that are interested in playing. The school has a tennis court, racquetball court, and a pond for fishing.

    Food and Dining

The food choices are repetitive each week for the most part. The dining commons do have special nights where they create special meals for the campus. On a normal basis, there is not much variety though.

    Dorm Life

The dorms are very old. The resident advisors do go out of their way to make sure that you are comfortable in the dorms though. The halls tend to bond together alot. It is not easy to get over looked in the dorms.

    Academic Rigor

The professors challenge you, but they will also walk beside you to help you in any way possible. This is a smaller campus, so the professors are more personalbe, and know most students by name. Here you are encouraged to strive for excellence.

    Tips for prospective students

I would not choose to attend here, because the consolidation will not allow you to receive a degree from this college.

    In three sentences

Central Bible College is rated a C+. It is consolidating into a school called Evangel University within the next two years so there are a lot of options that are no longer available here on campus. You will get the education you are seeking though because the professors are great.

    Campus Safety

Excellent- Patrolling 24/7. Very safe and great environment!

    What to do for fun

The city of Springfield, MO is great for all sorts of things. There is a great mall in town. Bass Pro shops is super cool! There are tons of things to do in the city. There are at least 2 other Universities in the city so there are students and activities everywhere.

    Tips for prospective students

Come prepared to study, grow in God, and have a blast!

    In three sentences

This is a great school for anyone looking at going into Church Ministries. The campus is great, and the other students are very friendly. The professors are very willing to help in any way, shape, or form.

    Campus Safety

Campus safty does a great job. Plus they are very friendly; you can become friends with them reallly quick. They are always making rounds throughout the day making sure that eveyone is safe.

    Clubs and Activities

There are so many different groups on campus, that if you are not involved it is your own fault. They have a vast variety.

Great for these types of students

If you want to get involved into ministry this is the place. I say number one in preparing future ministers. If you are deveoted to the call that God has placed on your life.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

One thing that I have to do anyway is go down to the Bass Pro. It is the largest one in the world.

    Bang for the buck

Its all that I asked for and more. The spiritual life here on campus is amazing. I have been growing in my faith and walk with God more here than I have in a while.

    What to do for fun

There is the gym where each night a big group of guys go down and play basketball. Getting involved with a local youth group and helping out is really fun. It is also a great learning experience. Many hang out in the dorms and play video games and watch movies. There is a zoo right down the street from campus and the fair grounds right across the street.

    Food and Dining

The food and dining is good for what they have. It is a small campus so they cannot afford all the fancy resturants that big campus's have. They make due with what they have, and its not to bad.

    Dorm Life

Dorm life is really interesting. It can take a little bit to get used to. But there is that sense of brotherhood in the doorms. Everyone hangs out, no matter what floor or building you live on. You can pretty much walk into anyones room throughout the day and hang out.

    Academic Rigor

Classes are tough, they will require alot out of you. But as long as you stay on top of your homework you will have plenty of time for other things. The main thing you have to worry about is reading.

    Tips for prospective students

If you are truly considering Central Bible College, it is worth coming out to spend a few days on campus. The atomosphere here, is like no other. You can look forward to chapel everyday; each chapel is something great. Level of commitment on this campus from the students is outstanding, everyone seems to want to serve and get involved, espically in ministry outreaches.

    In three sentences

Central Bible College is one of the Best schools for preparing for the ministry. The professors here care about you and spend time outside of class helping you. I give Central Bible College an A+ overall grade.

    Campus Safety

The campus safety at CBC is amazing! The campus safety staff are all very nice and they are really protective about the girls on campus. For example, if a girl is getting followed around by a creeper around wal-mart the girl can call campus safety and they will come deal with the situation (if it's necessary campus safety will call the cops after they arrive at the scene).

    What to do for fun

Each hall goes on their own hall events (corn maze, sleep over, bowling, cardinals game) and when going out with friends for fun the best things to do are to go to Jordan Valley Park (they have fountains and it's free), go to a movie (either Hollywood theater or the Palace), basketball games, volleyball games, and there is a game room by Zee's where one can play pool, carpet ball, or various other board games.

    Food and Dining

For food and dining there are two options the cafeteria (the caf, or dining commons) and Zee's. The food in the cafeteria tastes horrible but it is a buffet (eat however much you would like). Zee's is more like fast food (burgers, fries, chips, crispy chicken sandwiches); it tastes better than the cafeteria but you are limited on how much food you get.

    Dorm Life

No matter what you do, get air fresheners because the dorms are old. Dorm life is very social and you will probably know everyone on your hall by half way through the first semester. However, the vacuum cleaners are cheap and take forever to vacuum with, and the mattresses are not that comfortable. When presented with an option, do not live on 1st or 2nd because when it rains really hard it floods.

    Academic Rigor

Academically CBC is not challenging. If you're an A-B student in high school, then you'll be an A-B (maybe an occasional C) at CBC. The classes are not any harder than you average senior in high school level class.

    Tips for prospective students

My tips for all prospective students would be apply and enroll early because most scholarships are on a first come first serve basis. Last but not least housing, guys will want Flower (it's the better hall) and girls will want Bowie 3rd, 4th, or 5th floor.

    In three sentences

Central Bible College is a Christ centered atmosphere and everyone is kind to one another. Financially, the cost is not bad for furthering one's education. Plus, there are a lot of different scholarships for every type of student.
