Around Town

Central has been labeled a suitcase school, meaning there's not a lot to do and it is mostly a place to learn. The students are trying very hard to change that image and I think it has made more opportunities to have fun.

Definitely join clubs. Each club organizes many fun activities, and keep an eye out for Reccentral. Not only do they regularly form fitness classes and fan busses for students to go to away games and support CCSU, but also several fun trips.

There is a programming board on campus called Central Activities Network that I am actually a part of. We offer weekend as well as weekday programs. We have comedians, trips to new york, lectures, music and all other kinds of events. We have had artists such as LMFAO, Big Sean, and this year Kendrick Lamar come for our spring concert. Other clubs and departments have their own events in addition so there is almost always something going on.

There is so much to do here. Even a short distance off campus there is fun stuff to do. Never a dull moment.

RecCentral is a group that offers intramurals, fitness classes, workout gyms, and other fun fitness activities that students can partipate in. I have tried and really enjoyed zumba, yoga, and boxing classes. There are so many clubs that you can discover or join at the club fair. Devils Den at ten pm is ran every week with different activities. In addition, there are other activities offered, like carnivals or icecream socials.

CCSU has many clubs and scheduled activities that are suited for everyone's tastes.

There is often fun events planned on campus throughout the day for commuters to nightly events for those who live on campus. Also at the student center there is a game room with pool, table tennis, video games, and more.

Like I said before getting involved in clubs is a way to have fun because there are many different activities that are sponsored by these clubs.
