The college hosts all kinds of interesting events. Every week they have culture cafe, today was a def poetry reading that I couldn't make it to because I had a chemistry lab, and a few weeks ago the diversity club was playing the movie The Pursuit of Happyness. There are also occassionally movies playing outside in the afternoons, sports-related parties, and after seminars and speakers they usually offer pizza or popcorn. There are also frequent plays, and this year several clubs are teaming up to host a fundraiser in which you can get entered into a drawing to throw a banana creme pie at one of several willing faculty members. For a small campus, it's a pretty interesting place if you know where to look.

Campus being located downtown allows for easy walking access to the historic downtown area. There are coffee shops, restaurants, bars. In the summer there are multiple farmers markets in town. The public library is very close to campus. Centralia is also located directly between Portland Oregon and Seattle Washington. So if you are interested in a weekend getaway, two big cities are within an hour or so.
