Am learning a lot
Not only do I learn a lot of material from the textbooks and outstanding professors, but Clemson teaches you how to manage your new independent life. It also reaffirms your basic fundamentals in school and out side of the classroom. You will be book smart, and also withhold an image that is worthy of the Clemson alumni status.
Am enjoying being here
Clemson's entire atmosphere is one that is above the rest. From the football games, to the basketball games, Clemson crew, or FCA--Fellowship of Christian Athletes, there is something for everyone, participators and bystanders alike. Clemson's campus may seem large on foot, but everything is reasonably distanced from other places. If you don't want to walk, a 24 hour transportation is provided at no charge to you. With the money you don't spend, you could spend it on a book. Or you could just walk down to Cooper Library and borrow it. Along the way, feel free to pull out your camera and take pictures of the beautiful scenery. You won't need the camera inside because most people spend enough time inside to remember what it looks like. from the most popular 4th, 5th, and 6th floor to the lower dungeon like basement floors for less distractions. The environment is very small, but it adds a very homely feeling to your surroundings in Clemson, no matter which part you are in.
Bang for the buck
Out of state tuition is a bit pricey. A lot of my friends live further from Clemson than I do, but get to pay a little more than half of what I pay.
Tips for prospective students
College is an experience that will be unique to each person as there are different paths we must take. Mistakes are something that sometimes need to be learned based on a first hand lesson. However, do remember that the first goal of college is to learn. Study hard and don't base your grades off of anyone else's. Do NOT be afraid to get help at the first sign of trouble. Lectures wait on no one so as soon as you think you might be slipping, get help to avoid playing catch up. Don't be afraid to miss the big party school should always come first, and it's definitely NOT uncool or lame to stay in on a Friday or Saturday night.
Great for these types of students
All kinds. Athletes, More career driven students. Students who want to have fun and still remember that the true purpose of Clemson is an education.

Am learning a lot
I have learned so much being at Clemson University and from just one semester. From the great textbooks the professors choose to the professors themselves that are so eager to help you learn. However, like every college or university, there are going to be some professors that are better than others, but overall, at Clemson, the professors are really great. Clemson also offers academic help in so many ways. They have the Academic Success Center in the library which is fully dedicated to helping you succeed academically and offers tutors in almost every subject. Then they have the SIs (Student Instructors) that sit in your class to know exactly what is going on and offer sessions during the week to provide help on the material (tutoring). So pretty much there is no excuse for not getting help if you are having trouble academically and you attend Clemson. I have learned so much so far and cannot wait to learn more!
Am enjoying being here
Being a student as Clemson has been a blast so far! There is always so much going on around campus and there is never a time where their is nothing to do. As far as sports, numerous times during the week there is a sporting event going on such as football, basketball, or even tennis and soccer. If you don't like sports, there are many other things to do. On Friday and Saturday nights, they usually have free movies playing in the Hendrix Theater with free popcorn! There's also the downtown strip which has a variety of good restaurants and many exciting stores. And best thing on it all, everything is no more than 15 minutes walking distance around campus. Of course, if you don't want to walk, you could catch a ride on the CAT (Clemson Area Transit) bus to get you around campus! Clemson also does a good job of advertising all the events to the students by sending weekly emails of everything that is going on around campus for the week.
Bang for the buck
Clemson University may be a little more pricey compared to other college and universities in the state, but for the bang for the buck, you are getting a lot. Clemson degrees are very prestigious to have and are very valuable. Clemson is one of the most prestigious schools in South Carolina so paying a little more for that is a really good investment to make.
Tips for prospective students
Apply Early! The earlier you apply, the better chance you will have of getting accepted, especially if you do not have an exceptionally high GPA and SAT score. Also, housing priority is determined by your application date to the university, not your application to housing date. So the earlier you apply, the better chance you will have of getting into the dorm you want. In my opinion, Clemson House is the best, as far as room size and living conditions. And they have a dining hall on the first floor!
Great for these types of students
Great for students with any type of science major and for students who do not want to go to school in the middle of a big city. In Clemson, a five minutes drive from campus will take you into corn fields and cow pastures! A great country living scene

Adjusting from the high school atmosphere to the college life atmosphere was not easy but can be made successful. In high school things often seem to come to you easy and you barely have to study, you enjoy and spend a lot of time with your friends, completing homework and assignments would not have taken much of your time, and things were pretty much handed to you. But, in college, and that being any college you attend, things are different. In college you are an adult and pretty much make your own rules and schedule. You decide what classes you are going to take and when you will take those classes. You have to learn how to balance your academics and social life and that is one thing that I have learned from my first year attending college. Time management is a big deal and should be practiced daily when in college. You have to study and not procrastinate which is another task you will learn if you have not already. So you will learn a lot that being learning the campus to learning how to study the proper way for a task. Nothing will be given to you and what you receive you will earn.

Clemson University is a great college with much to offer. The campus is beautiful and spacious, the faculty, staff, and students are nice and regardless the situation you will feel at home.
Tips for prospective students
Dear Prospective Students,
Do you best at your college or university that you may be attending because any school means hard work. The degree you are trying to obtain will not be given to you, but instead you have to earn it. Attending college is the start of your new life; so use your advantages the best you may know how and make something of yourself. The world needs intelligent young women to continue making it a better place. Always strive for success and never give up.
Great for these types of students
Clemson welcomes any and all students. If you feel that this University is for you, you will have that special moment where your heart tells you that Clemson University is the school for you.

Clemson has a beautiful campus, and has so many things to offer its students. Clemson also has a staff that is always willing to help its students. Most of all, Clemson makes you feel at home and the bond between fellow students and faculty members feels like family.
Tips for prospective students
Clemson is a great college choice. They have many safety precautions and aid whenever it is needed. Clemson has so much to offer its students and should really be checked into. There is also nothing like a game in Death Valley!
Academic Rigor
While most high school students think that college is all about the partying, they're wrong. You can't survive in college if you don't study. The classes at Clemson can be difficult and challenging, but they can also be extremely fun.
Dorm Life
Dorm life at Clemson is great! I live in a four person suite in Holmes Hall and its one of the best dorms of its kind that I've seen at any other colleges/universities I have visited.
Food and Dining
When I first came to Clemson, I was so scared that the food was going to be disgusting because I had been to other colleges/universities and the food just wasn't good. Clemson has great food and many options to choose from. The dining halls are always clean and the staff is very nice.
What to do for fun
Clemson has many things to do. There are always sports going on. You can join intramural, club, or varsity sports. There are many clubs and leisure skill classes you can take. Clemson also has random activities that they send you emails about. Last December, Clemson even went to the extent to set up an ice skating rink right on campus.
Bang for the buck
While Clemson is rather expensive for a public university, I don't know anyone who doesn't fall completely in love with it. Even visitors from our rival school, the University of South Carolina, have to admit that it is a beautiful place and they love coming to it, except for having to see all of our team spirit everywhere.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus
There are many traditions on Clemson's campus depending on what groups you join. One that we all share is when we go to an away game, we take 2 dollar bills stamped with Clemson paws that we spend in the city of the away game. Some of the favorite locations on campus are Fike (our gym), the amphitheater (where we hold a lot of group functions), and everyone loves the lake.
Great for these types of students
Clemson is great for any type of student.
Clubs and Activities
There are so many clubs and activities to become involved with, and if you can't find one that you like, you can always make up your own.
Campus Safety
We have things like the CAT buses who will take you pretty much anywhere you need to go. There are blue emergency lights where you can report an emergency all over campus. My favorite is Tiger Transit which you can call anytime between 6PM and 6AM to get a safe ride somewhere across campus like to your car.

Am learning a lot
Learning would not be the word I would choose. I would use being bombarded with so much information you head explodes. I am in the Architecture program and I am just being thrown in to the field with a very thin life preserver, which would be that everyone else is in the same boat. There is so much information and they don't watte time immersing you in the field. It is so interesting and quite intimidating at the same time.
Am enjoying being here
College is the best part of my life so far. I have met so many great people who I know will be in my life far down the road. Football Saturdays are something that no one can describe but many people try to. There are a lot more opportunities to do things than I thought there were going to be, since it is in the middle of nowhere, but I am pleasantly surprised. I have not had one day where I haven't wanted to be here.
Bang for the buck
Even with a scholarship it is still pricey. But Clemson includes a lot of things in your tuition. They don't nickel and dime you once you get here. I haven't had to pay for many things on campus once I got here. Most of it is included.
Tips for prospective students
Buy more than one outfit of orange. Apply early for housing priority. Put money on tiger stripe.
Great for these types of students
Clemson is great for those who loves sports. It isa crucial part of college life and culture here at Clemson. And you have to like orange.

Clemson University is a great school! The students are friendly and the professors are incredibly willing to work with you!
Am enjoying being here
The setting of Clemson is perfect for me. It is large enough for me to find my niche without having to be fake or not myself.
Bang for the buck
Clemson doesn't have the best scholarship program, so if you want to come here, start looking for outside help.
Tips for prospective students
Visit the campus. Clemson has tours all the time. Call and find out everything you need to know about touring. Also, you can make appointments with the dean of the college you are considering going into. Just come visit. There's no way to know whether this school is for you until you come here.
Great for these types of students
This school is wonderful for students who don't mind an academic challenge and feel very self-driven. I actually wanted classes of 20 or so students when I first started looking for schools in high school. I have classes with 300+ students in it. As long as you sit at the front, you don't notice at all. Also, this school is great for students that want to be involved in school, but it also allows you to just be a face in the crowd if that is what you prefer.

Clemson is a great university. It has great academic and athletic programs, with plenty of opportunities to get involved. The professors and staff truly do seem to care about their students.
Tips for prospective students
Work in high school so that you can receive merit aid from Clemson! Clemson wants to recruit great students and you can greatly reduce tuition cost with hard work in high school.
Academic Rigor
Classes will test you and make you learn! Be prepared to study, but it won't be overwhelming. You will have to work, but you will also have plenty of free time!
Dorm Life
This definitely depends on what dorm you are in, but the RAs truly attempt to get the students on your floor to bond.
Food and Dining
There are a few dining halls and each has numerous options for you to choose from, including gluten-free food.
What to do for fun
Go to the campus beach, attend athletic events, join a club, take a trip to Greenville, spend time with friends downtown.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus
You can take a class to learn how to play the bell in Tillman Hall! While walking around campus, you can learn songs being played like Amazing Grace or something from a Disney movie!
Clubs and Activities
The amount of clubs on campus is crazy. There are so many options for you to join clubs. Clemson hosts events like Tiger Prowl so that you can meet all the clubs and see what you'd like to join!
Campus Safety
Clemson is a very safe campus and is truly a college town - away from a city. There are emergency lights and other resources around campus just in case, but I've never felt threatened on campus.

Am learning a lot
I am going to admit that classes are harder than I expected from high school. They are excellent, however, and I am learning a lot of information. The professors use different teaching methods, such as textbooks, lecture books, worksheets, projectors, Microsoft Power Point, and some even write on a computer screen that is projected for all to see. I would highly recommend this school. There are many different classes to take, and are worth your while.
Am enjoying being here
I can't even imagine going to another college now. Clemson is gorgeous, and I believe it is an ideal campus. The buildings look nice, and the surrounding parts of campus are ecologically friendly. There are tree lined walkways, flowing fountains, and relaxing fields. The dining hall food is also good too, and that's coming from a picky eater! There is always something to do at Clemson, whether it is study, relax, play a sport, explore the gardens, watch a game, hang out with friends, or shop downtown. Clemson is a once in a lifetime experience.
Bang for the buck
Compared to the price of other colleges in the state, Clemson is a very good deal. After coming to the school, I have to agree. With the combination of classes and all of the extra services offered, the price is fair.
Tips for prospective students
Don't be afraid to try new things. There are plenty of people here that would love to be friends, so just go out and meet them! Make good friends and they will stick with you in the good and bad times. Exam week isn't as bad as you would think either. There are plenty of stress relievers and fun things to do. Don't be afraid to ask for help either! People are more than ready to listen. Good luck, and I hope to see you on campus!
Great for these types of students
Clemson is great for those in Engineering majors and Science majors as well. Other majors have great programs too. If you love the outdoors, there is a lot to see here. There is plenty to do outside, and a botanical garden is just across the street!
Those who love sports will love going to the games as well. They are a huge event and a blast to go to. Regardless, I think anyone will love going to Clemson.

Most of the professors here are excellent. Like any other college though you are going to have a few in each course that aren't too great. But there are more good than bad so if you talk to older students and avoid the few, then you'll be golden.
Am enjoying being here
I honestly would never choose a different school. Every one is extremely nice and helpful. You can start talking to a random person and 9 times out of 10 they will be just as friendly back. The campus is absolutely gorgeous. Classes are usually fun and really informative. I personally have to suggest Greek life, best decision I made here was joining Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity.
Bang for the buck
Like I said I would never chose anywhere else, no matter the cost. In-state tuition is still pretty pricey but for the university, worth every penny.
Tips for prospective students
If you want a beautiful campus and a student population that is big, but not big, and every one is friendly, then Clemson is perfect. If Clemson offers your major then more than likely it is an excellent program. I have not heard one complaint from anybody in any major.

I am learning things that we never covered in high school. The calculus and science classes here are wonderful. They have expanded my knowledge in these areas beyond what I ever thought was possible. I love math and science and this is a great University.
Am enjoying being here
I love being at Clemson University. The view of the hilly landscape is breathe taken. The students and faculty are so very helpful. They have made my first semester a wonderful experience and one that is building so many great memories.
Bang for the buck
The education that I am receiving here is definitely the best bang for the buck. With a great education so very vital in today's society, I know that I am where I need to be at.
Tips for prospective students
Apply as soon as you can so that you can get a chance to get on board as soon as possible. You will absolutely love it here. They have a top notch program in place awaiting you.
Great for these types of students
If you love competing and winning, then this is the school for you.
It is a great place to come and get the best education for your future
