Categories Comments Great for these types of students All kinds. Athletes, More career driven students. Students who want to have fun and still remember that the true purpose of Clemson is an education.
Tips for prospective students College is an experience that will be unique to each person as there are different paths we must take. Mistakes are something that sometimes need to be learned based on a first hand lesson. However, do remember that the first goal of college is to learn. Study hard and don't base your grades off of anyone else's. Do NOT be afraid to get help at the first sign of trouble. Lectures wait on no one so as soon as you think you might be slipping, get help to avoid playing catch up. Don't be afraid to miss the big party school should always come first, and it's definitely NOT uncool or lame to stay in on a Friday or Saturday night.
Bang for the buck Out of state tuition is a bit pricey. A lot of my friends live further from Clemson than I do, but get to pay a little more than half of what I pay.
Am enjoying being here Clemson's entire atmosphere is one that is above the rest. From the football games, to the basketball games, Clemson crew, or FCA--Fellowship of Christian Athletes, there is something for everyone, participators and bystanders alike. Clemson's campus may seem large on foot, but everything is reasonably distanced from other places. If you don't want to walk, a 24 hour transportation is provided at no charge to you. With the money you don't spend, you could spend it on a book. Or you could just walk down to Cooper Library and borrow it. Along the way, feel free to pull out your camera and take pictures of the beautiful scenery. You won't need the camera inside because most people spend enough time inside to remember what it looks like. from the most popular 4th, 5th, and 6th floor to the lower dungeon like basement floors for less distractions. The environment is very small, but it adds a very homely feeling to your surroundings in Clemson, no matter which part you are in.
Am learning a lot Not only do I learn a lot of material from the textbooks and outstanding professors, but Clemson teaches you how to manage your new independent life. It also reaffirms your basic fundamentals in school and out side of the classroom. You will be book smart, and also withhold an image that is worthy of the Clemson alumni status.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Clemson welcomes any and all students. If you feel that this University is for you, you will have that special moment where your heart tells you that Clemson University is the school for you.
Tips for prospective students Dear Prospective Students, Do you best at your college or university that you may be attending because any school means hard work. The degree you are trying to obtain will not be given to you, but instead you have to earn it. Attending college is the start of your new life; so use your advantages the best you may know how and make something of yourself. The world needs intelligent young women to continue making it a better place. Always strive for success and never give up.
Am enjoying being here Clemson University is a great college with much to offer. The campus is beautiful and spacious, the faculty, staff, and students are nice and regardless the situation you will feel at home.
Am learning a lot Adjusting from the high school atmosphere to the college life atmosphere was not easy but can be made successful. In high school things often seem to come to you easy and you barely have to study, you enjoy and spend a lot of time with your friends, completing homework and assignments would not have taken much of your time, and things were pretty much handed to you. But, in college, and that being any college you attend, things are different. In college you are an adult and pretty much make your own rules and schedule. You decide what classes you are going to take and when you will take those classes. You have to learn how to balance your academics and social life and that is one thing that I have learned from my first year attending college. Time management is a big deal and should be practiced daily when in college. You have to study and not procrastinate which is another task you will learn if you have not already. So you will learn a lot that being learning the campus to learning how to study the proper way for a task. Nothing will be given to you and what you receive you will earn.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Great for students with any type of science major and for students who do not want to go to school in the middle of a big city. In Clemson, a five minutes drive from campus will take you into corn fields and cow pastures! A great country living scene
Tips for prospective students Apply Early! The earlier you apply, the better chance you will have of getting accepted, especially if you do not have an exceptionally high GPA and SAT score. Also, housing priority is determined by your application date to the university, not your application to housing date. So the earlier you apply, the better chance you will have of getting into the dorm you want. In my opinion, Clemson House is the best, as far as room size and living conditions. And they have a dining hall on the first floor!
Bang for the buck Clemson University may be a little more pricey compared to other college and universities in the state, but for the bang for the buck, you are getting a lot. Clemson degrees are very prestigious to have and are very valuable. Clemson is one of the most prestigious schools in South Carolina so paying a little more for that is a really good investment to make.
Am enjoying being here Being a student as Clemson has been a blast so far! There is always so much going on around campus and there is never a time where their is nothing to do. As far as sports, numerous times during the week there is a sporting event going on such as football, basketball, or even tennis and soccer. If you don't like sports, there are many other things to do. On Friday and Saturday nights, they usually have free movies playing in the Hendrix Theater with free popcorn! There's also the downtown strip which has a variety of good restaurants and many exciting stores. And best thing on it all, everything is no more than 15 minutes walking distance around campus. Of course, if you don't want to walk, you could catch a ride on the CAT (Clemson Area Transit) bus to get you around campus! Clemson also does a good job of advertising all the events to the students by sending weekly emails of everything that is going on around campus for the week.
Am learning a lot I have learned so much being at Clemson University and from just one semester. From the great textbooks the professors choose to the professors themselves that are so eager to help you learn. However, like every college or university, there are going to be some professors that are better than others, but overall, at Clemson, the professors are really great. Clemson also offers academic help in so many ways. They have the Academic Success Center in the library which is fully dedicated to helping you succeed academically and offers tutors in almost every subject. Then they have the SIs (Student Instructors) that sit in your class to know exactly what is going on and offer sessions during the week to provide help on the material (tutoring). So pretty much there is no excuse for not getting help if you are having trouble academically and you attend Clemson. I have learned so much so far and cannot wait to learn more!

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Clemson is great for those who loves sports. It isa crucial part of college life and culture here at Clemson. And you have to like orange.
Tips for prospective students Buy more than one outfit of orange. Apply early for housing priority. Put money on tiger stripe.
Bang for the buck Even with a scholarship it is still pricey. But Clemson includes a lot of things in your tuition. They don't nickel and dime you once you get here. I haven't had to pay for many things on campus once I got here. Most of it is included.
Am enjoying being here College is the best part of my life so far. I have met so many great people who I know will be in my life far down the road. Football Saturdays are something that no one can describe but many people try to. There are a lot more opportunities to do things than I thought there were going to be, since it is in the middle of nowhere, but I am pleasantly surprised. I have not had one day where I haven't wanted to be here.
Am learning a lot Learning would not be the word I would choose. I would use being bombarded with so much information you head explodes. I am in the Architecture program and I am just being thrown in to the field with a very thin life preserver, which would be that everyone else is in the same boat. There is so much information and they don't watte time immersing you in the field. It is so interesting and quite intimidating at the same time.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students This school is wonderful for students who don't mind an academic challenge and feel very self-driven. I actually wanted classes of 20 or so students when I first started looking for schools in high school. I have classes with 300+ students in it. As long as you sit at the front, you don't notice at all. Also, this school is great for students that want to be involved in school, but it also allows you to just be a face in the crowd if that is what you prefer.
Tips for prospective students Visit the campus. Clemson has tours all the time. Call and find out everything you need to know about touring. Also, you can make appointments with the dean of the college you are considering going into. Just come visit. There's no way to know whether this school is for you until you come here.
Bang for the buck Clemson doesn't have the best scholarship program, so if you want to come here, start looking for outside help.
Am enjoying being here The setting of Clemson is perfect for me. It is large enough for me to find my niche without having to be fake or not myself.
Am learning a lot Clemson University is a great school! The students are friendly and the professors are incredibly willing to work with you!

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Clemson is great for those in Engineering majors and Science majors as well. Other majors have great programs too. If you love the outdoors, there is a lot to see here. There is plenty to do outside, and a botanical garden is just across the street! Those who love sports will love going to the games as well. They are a huge event and a blast to go to. Regardless, I think anyone will love going to Clemson.
Tips for prospective students Don't be afraid to try new things. There are plenty of people here that would love to be friends, so just go out and meet them! Make good friends and they will stick with you in the good and bad times. Exam week isn't as bad as you would think either. There are plenty of stress relievers and fun things to do. Don't be afraid to ask for help either! People are more than ready to listen. Good luck, and I hope to see you on campus!
Bang for the buck Compared to the price of other colleges in the state, Clemson is a very good deal. After coming to the school, I have to agree. With the combination of classes and all of the extra services offered, the price is fair.
Am enjoying being here I can't even imagine going to another college now. Clemson is gorgeous, and I believe it is an ideal campus. The buildings look nice, and the surrounding parts of campus are ecologically friendly. There are tree lined walkways, flowing fountains, and relaxing fields. The dining hall food is also good too, and that's coming from a picky eater! There is always something to do at Clemson, whether it is study, relax, play a sport, explore the gardens, watch a game, hang out with friends, or shop downtown. Clemson is a once in a lifetime experience.
Am learning a lot I am going to admit that classes are harder than I expected from high school. They are excellent, however, and I am learning a lot of information. The professors use different teaching methods, such as textbooks, lecture books, worksheets, projectors, Microsoft Power Point, and some even write on a computer screen that is projected for all to see. I would highly recommend this school. There are many different classes to take, and are worth your while.

Categories Comments Tips for prospective students If you want a beautiful campus and a student population that is big, but not big, and every one is friendly, then Clemson is perfect. If Clemson offers your major then more than likely it is an excellent program. I have not heard one complaint from anybody in any major.
Bang for the buck Like I said I would never chose anywhere else, no matter the cost. In-state tuition is still pretty pricey but for the university, worth every penny.
Am enjoying being here I honestly would never choose a different school. Every one is extremely nice and helpful. You can start talking to a random person and 9 times out of 10 they will be just as friendly back. The campus is absolutely gorgeous. Classes are usually fun and really informative. I personally have to suggest Greek life, best decision I made here was joining Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity.
Am learning a lot Most of the professors here are excellent. Like any other college though you are going to have a few in each course that aren't too great. But there are more good than bad so if you talk to older students and avoid the few, then you'll be golden.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students If you love a small town atmosphere but want to go to a school with a lot of people, Clemson is right for you. It seems like it's out in the middle of nowhere, but it has everything you ever wanted.
Tips for prospective students Wait until classes start before you buy your books. Some professors don't require them, or you'll hardly use them. Then you can find a friend to pitch in and either share a book or not get one at all. Believe me, it'll save you some money.
Bang for the buck Through all the scholarships offered as an in-state student, and the deals you get on textbooks and school supplies it's definitely worth attending.
Am enjoying being here I think Clemson is one of my favorite places. They say South Carolina has Smiling Faces, Beautiful Places and it's true. The people here are great, and the town is very homey. Between the people and the fun sporting events, there's never a dull moment!
Am learning a lot I feel like I'm soaking up knowledge, not only from the classes but from my peers as well. The environment at Clemson is very studious. The people are here to help you strive to learn, and in return you feel smarter!

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Anyone really, as long as they don't want to just mess around or are looking for a huge city life.
Tips for prospective students Start early!!! Look for scholarships early, and have as much extra-curricular activities and work experience as possible without your grades lowering. Try going for programs at Clemson before you actually attend. It really helps.
Bang for the buck Clemson seems pricey compared to other in-state colleges, but they have some of the best possibilities to allow you to pay back the debts. The guidance program is really strong, so if help is needed, just ask. However, if you're not in Clemson yet, it really is hard to get a scholarship from them unless you have a really nice record in high school.
Will enjoy being here The extra-activities Clemson has to offer are amazing! They allow you great deals to see games (if you sign up early enough, you can get tickets free!) You can join their sports teams officially, or just play on one of their temporary ones. Their fun classes can range from music to belly-dancing! Advice I got was to try as many new things as possible (because you won't have as much time when you're out in the work force).
Will learn a lot The classes there range from massive to around 20 seats. Everyone is so focused, but still know how to have fun. The students there really do learn how to manage on their own, but learn when to ask for help. They also form their friends for life there as well. One of the most important things they learn there is how to manage their time!!! They have to decide when they can play around and when they have to get down and work.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Anyone that loves unity, sportsmanship, fun, life changing experience in a small town where everybody knows everybody.
Tips for prospective students Be prepared to work hard, harder than you ever have before bit the reward here is so much greater than the feeling you got walking across stage at your graduation. Be open to new experiences and welcome constant change but overall you will get the feeling of unity.
Bang for the buck Although tuition may seem high to attend this university it is completely worth it you get access to anything you may need at any time you need it the library is open 24 hours a day 6 days a week. They also take time to meet the needs and wants of the students with dining hall menus, housing, and handout spots on campus including fast foot establishments.
Am enjoying being here I LOVE the social and academic life here especially the sorority life here everyone no matter who you are are EXTREMELY friendly. I made a lot of lifetime friendships with both other students and professors while being here. I absolutely love the environment here especially around football and basketball season the fans and students are dedicated to making each season truly memorable.
Am learning a lot Whenever you first get here you feel as though you know everything there is to know about college but since being here, I have learned A LOT professors not only teach you inside the classroom they also build a relationship outside the classroom the closer you become with professors the more they are able to help.

Categories Comments Bang for the buck Out of state can get pricey, but there are so many things that you can get for free or discounted for being a student.
Am enjoying being here Clemson is a rare school that has the best of both worlds. It is a big school with the large fun atmosphere of tailgating like you have never seen, and incredible football games that are hard to not get pumped about. But Clemson also has the feel of a close, small community. If you are a tiger, you will be welcomed with arms wide open by all of the fellow tigers!

Categories Comments Campus Safety We have things like the CAT buses who will take you pretty much anywhere you need to go. There are blue emergency lights where you can report an emergency all over campus. My favorite is Tiger Transit which you can call anytime between 6PM and 6AM to get a safe ride somewhere across campus like to your car.
Clubs and Activities There are so many clubs and activities to become involved with, and if you can't find one that you like, you can always make up your own.
Great for these types of students Clemson is great for any type of student.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus There are many traditions on Clemson's campus depending on what groups you join. One that we all share is when we go to an away game, we take 2 dollar bills stamped with Clemson paws that we spend in the city of the away game. Some of the favorite locations on campus are Fike (our gym), the amphitheater (where we hold a lot of group functions), and everyone loves the lake.
Bang for the buck While Clemson is rather expensive for a public university, I don't know anyone who doesn't fall completely in love with it. Even visitors from our rival school, the University of South Carolina, have to admit that it is a beautiful place and they love coming to it, except for having to see all of our team spirit everywhere.
What to do for fun Clemson has many things to do. There are always sports going on. You can join intramural, club, or varsity sports. There are many clubs and leisure skill classes you can take. Clemson also has random activities that they send you emails about. Last December, Clemson even went to the extent to set up an ice skating rink right on campus.
Food and Dining When I first came to Clemson, I was so scared that the food was going to be disgusting because I had been to other colleges/universities and the food just wasn't good. Clemson has great food and many options to choose from. The dining halls are always clean and the staff is very nice.
Dorm Life Dorm life at Clemson is great! I live in a four person suite in Holmes Hall and its one of the best dorms of its kind that I've seen at any other colleges/universities I have visited.
Academic Rigor While most high school students think that college is all about the partying, they're wrong. You can't survive in college if you don't study. The classes at Clemson can be difficult and challenging, but they can also be extremely fun.
Tips for prospective students Clemson is a great college choice. They have many safety precautions and aid whenever it is needed. Clemson has so much to offer its students and should really be checked into. There is also nothing like a game in Death Valley!
In three sentences Clemson has a beautiful campus, and has so many things to offer its students. Clemson also has a staff that is always willing to help its students. Most of all, Clemson makes you feel at home and the bond between fellow students and faculty members feels like family.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Excellent!
Greek Life Greek life is a big part of Clemson, but you don't have to be involved unless you want to. I'm a GDI and proud of it! You can make the school as small or large as you want by expanding or contracting your core group of friends.
Clubs and Activities We have everything!
Great for these types of students Intelligent students that aren't shy and want to have a good time.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus People go to the Monsoon Room to hang out and explore sometimes! This is a huge AC facility that has flowing water all around. I think it's technically off limits, but it's fun! So is Roller Coaster Road or the Old Mill!
Bang for the buck People get hired for having a Clemson ring!
What to do for fun Anything and everything. Ballroom Dance... TaiKwonDo... Go out downtown... Watch a movie... Go to Chickfila... Watch Clemson football in the #1 Stadium in collegiate football... Throw paint on tshirts with friends... Whatever you do, have fun!
Food and Dining It's Aramark... What can I say? It's not bad, certainly!
Dorm Life Find a living-learning community if you can. They introduce you to new people and find a roommate with similar interests.
Academic Rigor It's definitely not a breeze here!
Tips for prospective students Get your application in early!
In three sentences We have the happiest students. More graduates than any other college say that they would come back to Clemson if they had to do it over again. We have the hottest students, too!

Food and Dining There are a lot of opportunities to eat around campus and the meal plans are pretty good too.
Dorm Life The freshman dorms suck.
Academic Rigor It is pretty hard in the Engineering department but not so much that it is impossible.
In three sentences The school has a very beautiful campus right on the lake. The school is centered on the football stadium. The teachers are very nice and understanding. They will work with you on things.

Categories Comments Clubs and Activities I'm in Formula SAE, and it's a great time.
Great for these types of students There is a lake really close to campus, so if you ski or wakeboard, you can do that very easily.
What to do for fun Just find a good group of friends to hang out with. Go to the football games on the weekends.
Food and Dining Harcombe is better than Schilletter.
Tips for prospective students Definitely come visit Clemson before making your choice, and I bet you'll love it here.
In three sentences Clemson has been great so far. The atmosphere is great and everyone is very nice. The classes are some what difficult, but that's how college is.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Tiger Transit is very helpful, it runs from 6-6; when it isn't running, the CAT busses are. There are also the safety boxes all around campus where all you have to do is press a button if you feel like you may be in danger. Definitely one of the safest campuses out there!
Greek Life Greek Life is pretty big at Clemson. They don't just party all the time, but do a great deal of philanthropic work too so a ton of money is raised for many great causes.
Clubs and Activities There are so many opportunities and activities that literally anyone can find something they will enjoy.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Clemson has a secret book, the blood bowl vs. USC, $2 bills for away games, a student created bucket list, and of course TIGER RAG and HOWARD'S ROCK!
What to do for fun You can work out at Fike, boat, fish, or waterski on Lake Hartwell, tan, play volleyball, or attend concerts on Y beach, there's always somewhere you can hike, explore the botanical gardens, bowl in the union, do something fun on Bowman Field with your friends, go downtown and shop, eat, or drink, go out and party, go to any athletic sporting event, and especially attend every home football game and even travel to some away games! Literally anything you can think of, you can make it happen here!
Food and Dining Dining halls are okay, but hey they are dining halls so we can't complain too much. But you can always go downtown for food, even Hendrix, there's options all over and they're pretty reasonably priced.
Dorm Life There are so many living options and living in different places are the best ways to meet new people. The dorms are pretty well kept; the shoeboxes aren't that bad, it would just suck to get overflow housing. There is also Clemson house though, which once was a hotel. It's awesome living on campus.
Academic Rigor Great school, students are serious about their education. Engineering and architecture majors work extra hard. However, everyone still finds time to enjoy themselves.
Tips for prospective students APPLY TO CLEMSON, it'll be the best decision you've ever made!

Tips for prospective students Apply as soon as you can so that you can get a chance to get on board as soon as possible. You will absolutely love it here. They have a top notch program in place awaiting you.
Bang for the buck The education that I am receiving here is definitely the best bang for the buck. With a great education so very vital in today's society, I know that I am where I need to be at.
Am enjoying being here I love being at Clemson University. The view of the hilly landscape is breathe taken. The students and faculty are so very helpful. They have made my first semester a wonderful experience and one that is building so many great memories.
Am learning a lot I am learning things that we never covered in high school. The calculus and science classes here are wonderful. They have expanded my knowledge in these areas beyond what I ever thought was possible. I love math and science and this is a great University.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Outdoorsy, engineering, agriculture, fun, outgoing, up for anything. Everyone can find something they like here.
Tips for prospective students Learn how to study. Your freshman year, find the clubs you love the most and stick with those. Having more than two clubs becomes demanding. Buy an umbrella; it rains a good bit here. Go to games of all sorts. Make lots of friends; these people will be your friends for life. If you are in state, many people from your old school will probably be here but try and make friends outside your comfort zone before you hang with the people you know. Get involved in a church. Apply for many scholarships! Note to students: The chemistry department sucks (when it comes to lab). If you need to take chemsitry, unless you are planning on majoring in chem, take it somewhere else like a tech school.
Bang for the buck It is South Carolina's most expensive public school right now. Out of state is crazy expensive. I do wish it was cheaper but I am willing to pay to go to school here.
Am enjoying being here I love it here. The campus is gorgeous and the weather is beautiful. You can see the mountains from some places. There are trees everywhere. We do get some snow but we also can get in the upper 90s in the summer and fall. I love on campus and I love the atmosphere. I would not go anywhere else.
Am learning a lot The professors do expect a lot from you but that is expected from any good university. The teachers all have different teaching styles so you have to adjust to different styles of learning. There are also many resources for free tutors and study groups.

Tips for prospective students Its a great school, just remember to apply for scholarships.
Bang for the buck It is pretty expensive for out of state students, but financial aid is pretty good.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students There is really something for every type of student. The library or your dorm for the studying student. Some cool restaurants to relax downtown. And venues for the music scene. Also, lots of options for the outdoor/adventure seekers.
Tips for prospective students Spend time: 1. in Cooper Library 2. on Bowman field 3. downtown Clemson
Bang for the buck A little pricey, but an excellent atmosphere.
Am enjoying being here I love it at Clemson. You'll be hard-pressed to find a more scenic campus. I have taken Hort 101 and worked personally with a lot of the ground crews. I know first hand that they take the beauty of campus to a personal level. Aside from the view on your way to class, you can easily make a short drive to the lake, mountains, or downtown Greenville.
Am learning a lot You'll definitely be hit with a lot of info. If you're an incoming freshman, get ready to study. Even if you didn't have to in high school. Especially if you're in a field requiring a lot of math (e.g. Engineering)

Am learning a lot All of my teachers have been especially helpful in instructing, even in large freshman classes. Whenever I have a question I can go and ask them questions via office hours, via email or by asking the TA's.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Emergency alert towers can be found no matter where a person stands on campus if they turn 360 degrees. The towers are visible by a bright blue light, and with the push of a button, campus safety members arrive within seconds.
Greek Life Greek life is very prominent on campus. There are always Greek activities and philanthropy events going on and have a positive reputation among non-greek members, staff, and faculty.
Clubs and Activities There are almost 400 undergraduate organizations on campus. All organizations can be found on a section of the Clemson website called OrgSync.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus If a couple walks through the President's Rotunda holding hands, they are destined to get married. Football players and the coaches rub The Rock before games for good luck. The Tillman clock tower plays music (classic, pop tunes, Christmas music, etc.) throughout the day.
What to do for fun Most organizations, like Greek Life or clubs, have parties, dances and other activities on the weekends. Football provides the most entertainment on campus during the fall and tailgating before and after games is a major part of student life. Many restaurants, movie theaters and some shopping are located nearby.
Food and Dining The food is mediocre, but there are multiple dining halls and restaurants to choose from that are located on campus. Many students have requested healthier food options in the cafeteria.
Dorm Life Students have a variety of residence halls to choose from. There are co-ed dorms (one of which is an old hotel with individual bathrooms and kitchens) as well as separate boys/girls dorms with common baths. They are all cleaned regularly and are in good condition.
Academic Rigor Class curriculum, as well as teachers, prepare the students for their intended majors.
Tips for prospective students Study. If students are on top of their work and reading material, desired grades is so much more achievable and will overall result in a stress-free semester. Also, use the library to your advantage- it can offer so many services, as well as a quiet place to focus.
In three sentences Clemson University prepares students for the job world by offering a wide variety of courses and majors and gets students on their career path from the beginning. A variety of services and organizations are offered for student success. It is one of the friendliest campuses you will set foot upon.

Categories Comments Greek Life great. sororities and fraternities are huge here. not just the ones most people think about, there are a lot of service sororities and such as well.
Clubs and Activities there are so many, of any type of group you can imagine. and if they don't have something, which isn't likely, you can start your own organization and there are so many people on campus that there is bound to be people who want to join.
Great for these types of students everyone. there is a group for literally every type of student here
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus do not read the statue in front of tillman or you won't graduate. rubbing the rock before the football game. walking through this one park from end to end holding hands with your significant other, and you'll end up married
Bang for the buck rather expensive, but any college is. this one is worth it.
What to do for fun always something going on on campus. movies show on a regular basis in the student center. there is a club, clemsonlive, that always provides some type of entertainment on campus at all times and they send out emails weekly so you know everything going on.
Food and Dining the food is good most of the time. lots of on places on campus to eat, including chick-fil-a and three different dining halls. very convenient and open til decent times. overall very satisfying.
Dorm Life the dorms are great. i live in clemson house, which is the best, i recommend it over anything else. everything you need is right here. ras are great and life in the dorm is just awesome.
Academic Rigor the classes are hard, especially if you are any type of science major. you will be challenged, and have to study a lot. i was an a student in high school without trying, but that does not work here. classes will make you do work, but it's worth it. you learn a lot and it's fun.
Tips for prospective students this is a great school. it is challenging, but it's worth it. just make sure you study a lot, and try to focus on school. don't skip class all the time, no matter how appealing it is to sleep a little longer, going to class always pays off. and get involved. there are hundreds of organizations on campus. get involved in a few things right from the beginning. it's a great way to make new friends and it is always a blast. study, but enjoy your time here best you can, because it is an amazing experience.

Categories Comments Campus Safety campus police everywhere, especially at night and on weekends. the blue lights are everywhere and they have tiger transit which operates from 6pm to 6am everyday that will bring you anywhere on campus.
Greek Life only about 25% of the school is greek, but it seems like a lot more. its great either way
Clubs and Activities there are so many different clubs and activities for people to join. there is something for everyone.
Great for these types of students who want to have fun and get a good education at the same time. you also have to like football if you come here.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus football players running down the hill on game day (most exciting 25 seconds in college football)
Bang for the buck i love clemson. worth every penny!
What to do for fun there is a nice downtown area and some malls within a 20 minute drive where you can go with friends. lots of time hanging out with friends and there are always student activities going on- almost every day there is something that students can go to.
Food and Dining the food is okay with lots of choices each meal. it can be repetitive at some times though.
Dorm Life if you are a freshman, live in the shoeboxes. they are so much better then the high-rises and have a much better location.
Academic Rigor a lot of classes are really challenging while others are on the easier side. many of the beginning classes are easy, but get harder and more in depth when you move up
Tips for prospective students if you are going to tour the school, come on a nice day. everyone will be outside playing and doing homework. after seeing that you won't want to go anywhere else
In three sentences clemson is an amazing university! there is such a great vibe and everyone is so nice. sports are a religion here and there is nothing that can compare to clemson on game day during the football season! go clemson!

Categories Comments Campus Safety the police on the campus are not designated campus police. our campus is patrolled by clemson city police. there are emergency call centers scattered across campus in case of emergencies. however, clemson's campus is very safe and is in a good area.
Clubs and Activities it is incredibly easy to get involved at clemson university. the fall and spring organization fairs and tiger prowl gives students a chance to look at each organization and sign up for information sessions. there is a club for any type of student with every type of interest. no one is left out. there is a club for everything imaginable.
Great for these types of students for students with great school spirit, i recommend attending every sports event possible. if you love clemson, you'll have a blast cheering for the tigers in football, lacrosse, tennis, baseball, or even golf.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus once you begin your career at clemson university, find a copy of the 50 things to do before you graduate from clemson university. completing this list will ensure the full clemson experience and make sure you never miss a beat as a clemson tiger.
Bang for the buck clemson is a very expensive university for out-of-state students. it is very difficult for non-resident is south carolina to get scholarships while south carolina residents can get thousands of dollars with ease. though the price is high if you're out of state, the experience and the quality of education are worth every penny.
What to do for fun clemson is definitely a sports-minded school. football season welcomes the tigers in august. in december the torch is handed to basketball season. and in march we are graced by baseball season. throughout the year there are also other sporting events to go to and for those who are not interested in sports, clemson offers great bands for concerts in the coliseum on campus. clemson also organizes social events for all tigers, not just greek life. if clemson can't entertain you, there is sure to be something happening in charlotte, nc or atlanta, ga which are both a short two hour drive from clemson.
Food and Dining on campus there are three dining halls and several restaurants. the restaurants include chick-fil-a, chilli's too, subway, and papa john's. the clemson dining halls each have their own specialties but on average are quite good. the food is usually hot, healthy, and tasty. however, if the campus options do not suit your needs, the downtown area is a short walk away and offers a slew of dining options including italian, asian, southwestern, and greek cuisine.
Dorm Life dorm life at clemson is excellent. several of the buildings are quite old but have been renovated. even freshmen are eligible to room in apartment-style dorms with private bathrooms and small kitchens. the dorms are centrally located to classes and dining halls. overall, dorm life at clemson university is quite comfortable.
Academic Rigor the classes at clemson university are certainly difficult. the professors do not mess around when it comes to learning however they are always willing to help. it is absolutely possible to earn a's if you are willing to put in the work. the classwork requires good time-management and study skills.
Tips for prospective students when first inspecting clemson, take a tour and spend a day on the campus. explore the downtown area, explore the library, and if at all possible, attend a football or basketball game. if you have any questions, feel free to stop any student on campus. we love to help our prospective tigers!
In three sentences clemson university is a good old southern school filled with heritage and traditions. the campus is large but offers a small-town family comfort and certainly epitomizes southern hospitality. entertainment is never scarce with sporting events and social gatherings give students a break from their rigorous class schedules.

Categories Comments Campus Safety the university is very concerned with safety. students receive a lot of information and updates about safety regulations and concerns, and there is a transportation system available to get around campus safely at night time.
Greek Life i'm not a part of it, but sorority and fraternity members seem to be having a blast!
Clubs and Activities as i already mentioned: there is something for everyone! no matter what your favorite sport, hobby, interest, or religion is: you can find soul mates at clemson!
Great for these types of students students who like to combine pure fun with prestigious education.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus it's not necessarily an unusual tradition, but a very important one: being a real clemson tiger and a huge football fan. this is the key to becoming part of the family!
Bang for the buck a top 25 university in sunny south carolina that feels like home and makes students very happy: i would say so!
What to do for fun as mentioned, there are a bunch of student clubs, organizations, and events: there are endless ways to have fun, get involved, and be connected. but one of students' favorite thing is to just hang out on bowman field on a sunny day and throw a frisbee or simply relax!
Food and Dining very good dining options, including a chick-fil-a on campus!
Dorm Life not bad at all, since clemson has such happy students...!
Academic Rigor i guess this depends on your major. in my major, communication studies, i honestly think the academic standard could be higher, but it is an interesting and engaging major nevertheless.
Tips for prospective students on-campus parking is pretty bad. there is too little space for student parking, it is too far away from your classes, and you pay extra for it. use the (free!) bus system, and maybe get a bike for more independence.
In three sentences clemson is ranked among america's top 25 public universities. it has a beautiful campus, great student activities and organizations, and a real family-feeling. fun fact: clemson students are ranked among the nation's happiest students!

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus the s.c. state botanical gardens are located on campus. also the famous esso club is a very popular hangout on gameday.
Tips for prospective students schedule a tour of clemson. you will most likely fall in love with the university and the friendly students and staff you will meet. also, attending a sporting event will give you a picture of the fun side of college life that students get to experience at clemson
In three sentences clemson is a very prestigious university, especially if one is interested in engineering, architecture, or education majors, but they also have many other excellent programs. it is located in upstate s.c. on the shores of lake hartwell. they do a very good job of making future students feel like they are part of the clemson family already.

Categories Comments Food and Dining I have no experience with the food and dining due to the fact that i am a out of state transfer student. Through research I have heard that the facility is given a above average rating. This is because of the availability and and selection of the food and services.
Dorm Life I have no experience with On-Campus living because I am from out of state but I have heard through word of mouth that the dorms feel like a large family. This is because of the location of the dorms they are in the center of campus and only a short walk to where you need to go. Also many of the students hang out together in the dorms which also makes it more of a family atmosphere.
Academic Rigor Through research and talking to former students I have seen that Clemson is rated well above average academically due to the fact of the class sizes that are relatively small. Also the work load is set right for the students to successfully achieve their goals.

Categories Comments Campus Safety The campus is fairly safe. I hear the police aren't the nicest, and you can't always see an emergency light post from the vantage of another one as you're supposed to, but the student patrol are all over the place. There's even Tiger Transit which will pick you up if you feel unsafe going from one place to the other.
Greek Life I don't like Greek Life, but for those that do, there's a lot of that at Clemson. I think they're adding a third Greek village soon, but don't hold me to that. My knowledge is limited.
Clubs and Activities Like I said, all clubs imaginable.
Great for these types of students Athletic, nerdy, lazy, smart. I can't think of a type of student that wouldn't fit in here.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus We all wear orange on Friday. Honestly, people really only do that the first half of first semester.
Bang for the buck Bowling and movies. A lot of movies can be seen for free if you get you ticket early enough, but there's always a line.
What to do for fun There's all sorts of clubs imaginable. My friends and I just play Dungeons and Dragons all the time, but we sometimes play Manhunt (hide-and-seek for grown-ups). There's a rock wall in Fike, the gym. There is bowling and pool in the Union, and a shoddy arcade there, too.
Food and Dining Eh. The food could be better. I know this sounds bad, but there's a lot of special ed. people working in the dining hall I go to as well. Most of them are nice, but there's one that is the moodiest person I've ever seen. She'll take your food when you're not done eating and she implied that my friend was going to hell because she died her hair. She really likes to get in your space while you're eating and will sometimes mumble things about you. She angrily threw my friend's beanie on the seat next to me one time, too. It was very awkward. Other than that, and the bug that someone found in their food one time, Harcombe isn't all that bad.
Dorm Life I lucked out with my living-learning community. Everyone there is great. Not everything works all the time in the Shoeboxes where I live (air, locks, sinks), but there's people who fix that when you need it.
Academic Rigor Some of the classes I have had to take are very difficult, but Clemson makes sure that there is plenty of help available.
Tips for prospective students If you need financial help, be sure to get it. There are many ways to do so around Clemson. Join clubs and make friends with all types of people. It's true with they say about deciding among having a social life, getting sleep, and keeping up in class. You can only have 2 of the 3. Choose wisely.
In three sentences The campus is the most beautiful of all the colleges I have visited. The classes are typically in a central location, rather than scattered around. It's kind of expensive, but you definitely get your money's worth.

Bang for the buck Courses prepare you and the cost isn't too bad. Scholarships will help.
What to do for fun Greenville is not too far. Great stuff to do there!
Academic Rigor You will be challenged and pressed to do your best.
Tips for prospective students Apply early. The earlier the better. That way you can get early acceptance and get a jump on other students. Clemson is a big, well known school. Thousands and thousands of applicants. Putting ur application in early takes out some of the the stress involved

Categories Comments Campus Safety One thing that I noticed during my tour was that there were many bike-cops cycling around the campus. What really caught my attention were various towers with a sort-of Help Me! button on them!!!
Great for these types of students Students who are well interested in getting into a degree within the engineering field, but there are more options, such as those who want a degree in business and even veterinary science!
In three sentences I am not in any classes at this moment, but will soon be this fall! Categories Comments Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Solid orange Friday, The Rock
Bang for the buck With the scholarships and grants I am getting, the price I have to pay for school is well worth it. Even compared to other colleges, under $20,000 a year is not that expensive.
What to do for fun There are many intramural sports to join along with many fields like Bowman to hang out with friends and throw a Frisbee. There are a lot of activities that go on during the week that you hear about through your email like movies and events in the student union.
Food and Dining The dining is completely overpriced. We were forced to get a food plan freshman year but I have not purchased one since. The dining halls were not open late enough and I had to purchase food from grocery stores anyways.
Dorm Life Your first year, you are in a dorm sharing with another person, then after that you are free to live wherever you want. Dorms freshman year allowed for meeting a lot of people. I enjoyed living in a dorm freshman year although I moved to an apartment after that.
Academic Rigor The classes are a challenge and of course there is a period where you have to adjust to the college lifestyle. Once you get into a groove of how you learn and study best, you will excel at this university.
Tips for prospective students If you are looking to get any kind of engineering degree, this is the college for you. Take the time to figure out which field you want to go into and choose one that fits so you do not have to change majors.
In three sentences The campus and the overall atmosphere is friendly and inviting. The Engineering program that I am in builds a strong foundation for the degree. My experience over the last three years has been great.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Every campus has its issues with Campus safety, but I have lived in Clemson all my life, and I have always thought about Clemson as a safe area and a safe campus.
Greek Life It is everywhere at Clemson. However, you are not forced into which is great because you can choose what you do and what you do not do.
Clubs and Activities There are clubs for pretty much anything you can think of. Now, they have it where you can pretty much come up with a club if they do not already have it on-campus.
Great for these types of students Any type of student can have a great experience at Clemson. Clemson has such a diverse group of students and environment that I believe anyone would make a great decision when choosing Clemson University as their home for 4 years.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Rubbing the Rock in Death Valley, Fike Recreation Center, Amphitheater, Pond in front of the Library, and Right on Lake Hartwell. Bowman Field, Tillman hall
Bang for the buck Clemson is not as hard on the wallet as some universities, and yet it is a well-known university that gives you a degree to be proud of.
What to do for fun Clemson Football games, Play games at Bowman Field, Intramurals, organizations, FCA, Clubs, Clemson Baseball games, Clemson Basketball Games, and much more
Food and Dining The food and Dinning could be worse, which I think Clemson University has one of the best Food and Dinning available. There is always a wide variety to choose from; However some of the food seems to be old at times, and can cause people to be grossed out. Overall, It's better than most, but not perfect.
Dorm Life The Dorms are small, but allow you to have a lot of one on one interactions with other classmates.
Academic Rigor You must make time to study for each class. Some classes are more enjoyable than other, and require more work. However, if you put in the effort you will receive the grades you are looking for.
Tips for prospective students Be ready for a great time. Sporting events are a real treat on the weekends, and the party scene is crazy. However, if you're just there for strictly academics, you will not be disappointed there either. The Professors are great, but do expect your best. The Professors try to get the best out of you, but that makes you a better person.
In three sentences Clemson is a step-up from any other school anyone could possible go to. They have professors that care, and an atmosphere to match. The University is placed in a small town community that could make anyone feel at home.

Categories Comments What to do for fun Tons of stuff! Unmarked frisbee golf courses on campus. Hiking, biking, climbing in the surrounding mountains. Swimming in Lake Hartwell, Keowee, or Jocasee or just going to some random waterfall in the nearby area. You can go to Greenville, Anderson, or Seneca for shopping, movies, going out to eat. On campus, there are concerts, live shows, organization fairs, organizational events/activities all the time. Clemson's campus is NOT a suitcase campus. Most students stick around on the weekends. We don't go home because we love Clemson too much! Also, there are plenty of athletic events to go to as well. You can always hang out with friends in a dorm room or at a friend's apartment off campus. You can watch a movie, have a game night, just chill, play cards, go out to eat (plenty of restaurants in Clemson), etc. There's always a ton of stuff you can go do.
Food and Dining Dining is mediocre. There are several options, but it gets old after a while. There are several food courts on campus, and those are always good to go to. However, you can't use your meal plan in the food courts.
Dorm Life The freshmen dorms are pretty old, so they're not the nicest things in the world. However, I loved living on the freshmen hall. It's so much fun. There's an awesome sense of camaraderie. Live on campus your first year of college if you can.
Academic Rigor The academics at Clemson are excellent. Clemson University is ranked 23rd in the nation in the Princeton Review. However, it's not like you won't have a social life. I have a 4.0 but am about the biggest extrovert you'll meet. By the way, my major is Civil Engineering.
Tips for prospective students Before you start classes your freshman year, make sure you walk around campus a couple days before classes begin so that you know which buildings your classes meet in and how to find those buildings. You're less likely to be late to the first day of class.
In three sentences The campus is beautiful. The athletics are great. The academics are outstanding - amazing!

Tips for prospective students Any prospective students needs to learn hard and fast that studying is the key to success in college, without hard work there is no success.
In three sentences Clemson University is a fantastic opportunity to further one's knowledge on a desired subject. Greek Life There are many different Greek sororities and fraternities so if this is something that interests you, give it a shot.
Clubs and Activities Clubs and organizations are everywhere and are always sponsoring events to encourage students to stay involved in more than just academics.
Great for these types of students Most people tend to think that Clemson University is tailored to students majoring in engineering, science, and math but as an English major, I find that Clemson can be perfect for anyone no matter the field.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus We have Solid Orange Fridays where most students will be seen wearing orange t-shirts. There are certain places on campus that, traditionally only, students are not to go because they wouldn't graduate BUT you have to be a student to find out what those are. ;-)
Bang for the buck From service organizations to recreational activities, Clemson University provides students with so much access to many different things so it is well worth the tuition.
What to do for fun Whether you like to salsa or play an instrument, Clemson University has something for everyone. We have a theater on campus so there will be movie nights. In our performing arts center, we host different events ranging from international orchestras to musicals and plays. Also we hold concerts for major artists and comedians in our coliseum.
Food and Dining There are multiple dining halls but there are different restaurants on campus that students can eat.
Dorm Life The freshmen dorms are unique in that they have different programs affiliated with those halls to get the students acclimated to being in college. There are on campus apartments as well that offer students more of a taste of what it would be like to live on their own.
Academic Rigor Clemson University is a highly competitive university and encourages students to excel in their work. However, there may be times when students for whatever reason fall behind in their studies or just need an extra push so the Academic Success Center is there to help students get back on track.
Tips for prospective students Prior to college, make sure that you remind yourself that it will be different from high school and to enter with the mindset that you are at the university to learn, develop the skills you need to excel in your field, and to find ways to add value to society. Get involved in community service organizations because they help build character and keep you grounded. Be open-minded about students who may be different from you because there is something that can be learned from everyone.
In three sentences Clemson University is an amazing institution that provides many resources that encourages the success of students. There are services like the Michelin Career Center that students can use to prepare them for their future careers. Different outreach programs and organizations are accessible to students providing them a home away from home.

What to do for fun Swimming, Intramural Sports, Hang out downtown, Have picnics
Food and Dining The dining hall is very convient, as there is always food waiting on you to eat! However, you will become tired of eating the same things by the end of first semester. Then you will miss it once you go home!

Categories Comments Campus Safety The campus is really safe, with emergency stations set up around campus and transit for students looking to go across campus at night. Law enforcement is definitely seen on campus on a daily basis and helps in ensuring the safety of those on campus.
Clubs and Activities There are hundreds, literally hundreds, of organizations to get involved in across campus!
Great for these types of students Students that are social and athletic but understand the importance of education and the purpose of college.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Check out the list of things to do, or not to do, before you graduate!
Bang for the buck The school is great for those who want to be well rounded and take every opportunity that they can in college.
What to do for fun There are events constantly going on on campus so almost every weekend there is something to do. If you're looking for something to do on weeknights they have events too such as contra dance in the union or you can have a pick up game of soccer on Bowman or a volleyball game on one of the many sand courts across campus. Also check out the freshman list of things to do before the end of your freshman year and the list of things to do before you graduate.
Food and Dining The food is decent for being cafeteria food, though some days are better than others, especially when they have certain events going on in the dining halls. If absolutely nothing looks appetizing, the sandwich, salad and stir fry lines are always a good choice.
Dorm Life Living in a dorm is great, though it can be kind of tiresome at times. Just make sure that you get to know your neighbors and your roommate because afterall you'll probably spend most of your time around them.
Academic Rigor I struggled to get my head above the water freshman year and am having to make up for it during the summer. The classes are tough but if you learn to study right and take advantage of the academic success center you can succeed.
Tips for prospective students Get to know your professors as soon as possible, it might seem like too much but it could help you in the end! Always be up for meeting new people, whether its taking part in a pick up game on Bowman or going to one of the many events across campus. Also learn to manage your time in a smart way or you could become swamped with work before you know it!

Greek Life There are many greek organizations on campus, and they dedicate a week for recruiting new members. Also, Clemson has eight of the divine nine.
Clubs and Activities There is a club for everything and everyone. At the beginning of the year there is an organizations fair where every club, intramural sport, and greek organization set up a booth and give out information.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus During football season, every student is guaranteed a free football ticket to each and every home game. Each home game, people flock to the campus and tailgate and encourage students to join them.
What to do for fun You join an intramural sport or go to Fike, the recreational facility. There is a rock climbing wall, as well as a lake on campus and a free movie theater on campus. Also, student services is always hosting various events as a way of entertaining students.
Food and Dining They have options for everyone in each dining hall- so if you are vegan don't have to worry about not having options. Sunday brunch at Clemson House is wonderful.
Dorm Life Freshmen can stay in the high rises, honors dorms, or the shoe boxes. The resident assistants are very helpful and they are there when you need them. If you need to change rooms for whatever reason, the housing department will work with to make sure you are satisfied.
Academic Rigor Depending on your major, will determine the rigor of your courses. The more popular majors having beginning classes that help you decide if the major is right for you. In other words, they are ridiculously hard-but if you succeed you know you're in the right place.
Tips for prospective students If you need help with anything at all-TALK TO SOMEONE, ANYONE. Get involved in the clubs and organizations on campus.

Categories Comments Campus Safety I have never felt unsafe on campus. There is plenty of police presence and you don't even ever feel like you need it.
Greek Life If this is your thing, there are plenty of sororities and fraternities to choose from.
Clubs and Activities Get involved early. There are tons of groups to join and they are all friendly and welcoming.
Great for these types of students There is a ton of diversity at Clemson. Any and all kinds are here and feel welcome.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The hill on gameday. You will figure it out.
Bang for the buck There are so many opportunities to work at Clemson, research at Clemson, that it is almost a steal to go here.
What to do for fun There is plenty of room to do anything. If you are a city person, Greenville, Atlanta, and Charlotte are close enough.
Food and Dining Harcombe is the best place on earth to eat. There are so many choices. It is extremely easy to eat healthy at Clemson which is very important.
Dorm Life All aspects of dorm life are great. The dorms are great, the locations are great, and the RAs are great as well.
Academic Rigor It is college and it is tough. Clemson is a tough school. Because of this though, it definitely means something to graduate from Clemson.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Clemson takes the safety of its students very seriously. Over the years clemson has implemented things such as Tiger Transit which is a van system students can call after 7pm if they need a ride from some place on campus to another place or campus. There are also student patrol officers who walk around at night checking buildings and making sure nothing suspicious is going on around campus. Then of course there are campus police patrolling daily during the day and night and there are also video cameras located throughout campus.
Greek Life Greek life is a big part of Clemson. Rushing isn't for everyone but if it is I'm sure there is a fraternity or sorority for you on campus.
Clubs and Activities Clemson has hundreds of clubs from things like gaming, sports, and academic clubs. Students here are very involved in the various clubs and organizations here and there is really a club for just about everything so everyone is involved in something.
Great for these types of students Clemson is great for all types of students. Its not a school geared just towards engineers or mathematicians. Clemson has something to offer to everyone no matter there background. If you are looking for an experience of a lifetime I would say Clemson is the place for you.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus One tradition I found Clemson had this year was throwing oranges on to bowman field during the orange bowl. It sounds weird but you would be surprised how covered the field gets it is a wonderful sight to see.
Bang for the buck I would say the best thing about clemson, is the unbeatable game days. I've never seen so much school spirit from not only the students but the surrounding city. Anywhere you go whether its on campus or downtown there are tailgaters everywhere, and once you walk in to the stadium the crowd is just wild. I can truly say game days are sacred at Clemson!
What to do for fun There is always something to do on campus, whether its a campus sponsored tournament, intramurals, bowling, ping pong and so much more on campus. If sports isn't your thing there are even video game and rc racing clubs.
Food and Dining The dining hall food isn't the best but it sure beats ramen noodles every night . There is a wide variety of food selections from salads to subs or even oriental. Every now and then theres something pretty good in the dining hall, but of course there is always the usual pizza and burger and fries.
Dorm Life Dorm life is not that bad, by the second day you are moved in most people on your hall are still getting to know everyone, because just like you they are starting somewhere foreign to them. Over time you learn to share your living space with others and you find that dorm life isn't so bad.
Academic Rigor Clemson is very respected in the nation and has some of the hardest classes you have ever taken. Some courses are a review o high school material while some are a mixture of both. All in all you will learn everything you need to and nothing less from classes at Clemson.
Tips for prospective students I would say the best thing for a prospective student to do is enhance your study habits. Start learning to how to manage your time because once you get to college you have to manage school work, a social life, and sleep, and all three are a very important aspect of a true college experience.
In three sentences Clemson is one of the best schools in the south and has a very challenging and rewarding curriculum. The campus is beautiful and there are many opportunities to join campus organizations to help you stand out. There is always someone around to help whether it be tutors, professors, grad students, or even a classmate.

Categories Comments Campus Safety We always see cops around campus, and there's a student police force as well, that checks the dorms and makes sure everything is running well.
Greek Life Greek life is very much alive at Clemson Univeristy.
Clubs and Activities There are a thousand clubs and organizations to get involved in! Whatever you're intertested in, there is moer than likely an organization just waiting for you!
Great for these types of students Any student that has alot of school spirit, is ready to get involved, and likes to meet very friendly people would be great for Clemson University.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Orange Friday is when everyone wears as much orange as possible! The football players get amped for the game with all the spirit going on.
Bang for the buck I am in state, so attending Clemson was a great choice. I honestly can't ask for a better undergrad experience. Clemson is very rigorious, but fun at the same time. Even if I were out of state, would definitely still come to clemson.
What to do for fun Clemson parties hard! But if you're not into that, people always have viewings of the games. Clemson Live also has alot of events- free movies with free popcorn, carnivals, etc. Also, there's alot of instramural sports to attend, and you can always go to Fike recreational center as well. There's really never a boring moment in Clemson.
Food and Dining There are alot of dining options! There are three main dining halls, & loads of restaurants on campus as well. Downtown clemson is only a walk away from campus & there's even more options down there.
Dorm Life Dorm life was pretty good. My RA was somewhat lazy, so I didn't get as good of an experience in terms of bonding with my fellow hallmates, as other halls did. But I would definitely recommend living in a dorm your first year; I met so many people on the elevator, and in really random ways.
Academic Rigor Clemson is not an easy school. I would not recommend it for the slacker. Here, the teachers challenge you, so expect to work hard. But it will all pay off in the end!
Tips for prospective students Definitely take a couple tours of the campus, and possibly spend a weekend there with an older friend if you can!
In three sentences Clemson is an amazing school; the campus is beautiful. A truly Southern school, the people are warm and friendly, and the weather is great. The campus always feels like a family through it's days of unity- Solid Orange Fridays get the students pumped and ready for the big game on Saturday!

Categories Comments Campus Safety Campus saftey is pretty good. There are alarm towers that you can press if someone is in danger and the athorities will come to help promptly. There is also a doctors office on campus you can use if you have any problems.
Greek Life I do not have any experience in Greek life. I do not know if it is any good or not. I am not even sure what Greek life is.
Clubs and Activities Central spirit is a good club if you really like sports and you want to insure you have a free football game ticket. There are Christian clubs that are good if you miss your home church. There is also the student alumni association which is good for getting free shirts and discounts.
Great for these types of students The library and computer labs are great for students who like to study. Central spirit is a club that is good for students who like sports. Co-op is good for students who worry about getting a job.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus There is a Friday crew that stand outside of the library every Friday to wish everyone a happy Friday. It is tradition to wear orange on Fridays. The reflection pond was died orange one time to pump up the football players.
Bang for the buck I give Wendy's the biggest bang for the buck because it is the only place with a dollar menu. Papa Johns is also pretty cheep and has really good pizza and bread sticks. Apple lap tops are expensive but if you buy it from the school all software is free which saves a lot of money in the long run.
What to do for fun There are inter-mural sports that anyone can participate in. The football games are always fun to go to. We also have a student union that has pool tables and bowling.
Food and Dining Wendy's is the best place for a cheep meal. The cafe has really good burgers if you have the extra money to spend. There are plenty of places to eat you just got to get out and explore the campus.
Dorm Life I gave this one star because I have no dorm life experience. I live at home and commute so I am not really sure what it's like. I have seen a dorm and they looked pretty small.
Academic Rigor There is free tutoring in the library which is always helpful in academics. They also have free tutoring in other places as well. The professors are all usually pretty good teachers.
Tips for prospective students Take advantage of the free tutoring in the library. The Co-op experience is great for job experience in your field of study. The first year or so is usually general so get through that and then you will get to what you like to do.
In three sentences Clemson is a great school. There is lots of help to succeed. The school spirit is also pretty great.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Campus Safety is pretty good, most buildings rely on key card access and all dorms do. Tiger Transit provides on campus shuttling after dark from 6pm to 6am for free, no questions asked.
Great for these types of students Clemson is great for those interested in sororities and fraternities and those who are athletic.
What to do for fun Most of the fun stuff is going to be from organizations or extracurriculars. WSBF puts on free shoes downtown all the time, and other organizations have events too. Really, there's not that much exciting going on unless you really immerse yourself.
Food and Dining Some people complain, but there's a pretty good selection of food at the dining halls usually. Schiletter has good vegetarian options and great pizza and Harcombe generally has pretty good grill food. Clemson House has a decent brunch.
Dorm Life ResLife tries to keep a lot going on, and the RA's are generally pretty chill unless you get stuck with a bad one. I never had any problems with neighbors or anything but some of the older dorms (i.e. Johnstone) are really bad off and should be avoided at all costs.
Academic Rigor Most classes are challenging, even in easier departments. Only a few classes are cake walks, and they tend to be classes for one of the more obscure Gen Ed requirements.
Tips for prospective students Make sure to go on Rate My Professor to vet professors, it doesn't usually lie or lead astray.
In three sentences Clemson University has good academics all around with decent, if not better, teachers. There is a lot going on in the fraternity/sorority scene but little elsewhere. If you are not in engineering, be prepared to face difficulties because of budget cuts.

Categories Comments Campus Safety The campus is most definitely safe. Almost everybody knows everybody in a sense and even if someone doesn't know you, they are extremely nice so its really a friendly environment.
Food and Dining Unless you eat a lot a lot, don't waste your money on the unlimited meal plan. A lot of the people I know that attend Clemson don't even get meal plans after their first year. It's possible to survive on campus without one. S/N: I had to eat at Harcombe for summer camp for 3 years straight. For people like me, its awesome because I love to eat. For some people, you might get tired of pizza and fries everyday.
Dorm Life The most important thing about dorms is get your applications in early if you are picky like me. The high rises are in my opinion the second best dorms for freshman aside from Clemson House which is where I will most likely be staying. If you think of it as semester by semester, its really not that bad at all and the community style dorms aren't horrible at all. It's about 8 people to a bathroom. If you here the word shoebox as if refers to a dorm, scream, holler and run in the opposite direction. I couldn't do it and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone else.
Academic Rigor To be honest, your academic success is what you make of it. You can make it hard or you can make it easy. It's up to you.
Tips for prospective students The most important thing is definitely keeping up with all of your deadlines especially when it comes to financial aid and classwork. Know how to manage your time extremely well because balancing a social life in high school is one thing but it is totally a different ball game in college.

Categories Comments Bang for the buck Everything you buy on campus is expensive. The price inflation on everything sold on campus including books is ridiculous.
What to do for fun Make lots of friends and go out to eat or stay on campus and participate in Zumba. To make the most of your college experience join clubs and be social.
Food and Dining The best places to eat are the fast food places. Often times the dining halls will just make you sick or will lack quality. Though the theme nights and different programs they have are always fun to go to.
Dorm Life I have not experienced dorm life but I lived on campus in the apartment complexes. I love living in lightsey though I won't be able to live there this coming school year.
Academic Rigor Some classes are a walk in the park but most classes I have found to be quite rigorous.
Tips for prospective students Meet with your adviser as much as possible. Make sure you know who your adviser is because you are basically cold turkey if you are not an engineering major.
In three sentences Clemson is a very diverse and fun environment to learn in. Transferring in can be a bit of a hassle though. Overall attending Clemson is a decision you won't regret.

Greek Life I believe something like 40%-50% of Clemson students are Greek.
Clubs and Activities Anything you could imagine. If there isn't what you want you can start it with a couple friends. Clemson provides money to clubs for events too.
Great for these types of students Outdoorsy/nature students Agriculture or engineering students

There is a campus wide frisbee golf course that has been passed down from class to class. Bowman, the amphitheater, the reflecting pond, the north green, Death Valley, Little John, Tillman - all are notable land marks on campus.
What to do for fun Go to sporting events, hang out on Bowman, play sports, workout/go for a run, go for a hike, go to the lake, see a movie, eat out.

Categories Comments Greek Life Greek life is big on campus but if you aren't in it there is still plenty of things to do and ways to be involved.
Clubs and Activities Lots and lots of clubs, and lots of opportunities to start new ones.
Great for these types of students Outdoorsy, academic, involved, driven, and culturious (a term invented by Clemson to describe students who expand their minds culturally by visiting other places, trying new things, etc).
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Football season brings a lot of tradition. From the ceremonious running down The Hill by our team and touching Howard's rock, to the Cadence count, to the Greek Life tissue displays on Bowman field for Homecoming. The list goes on!
Bang for the buck Expensive but a really great experience.
What to do for fun There are a lot of outdoors activities. Clemson is in a beautiful, prime location and there is a lot of nature surrounding campus such as mountains and lakes.
Tips for prospective students Have solid goals and varied interests. Make the grades and have a very full extracurricular resume.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Always utilize Tiger Transit services if you find yourself out late at night, coming from the library or a friends dorm.
What to do for fun There are over 300 clubs/organizations at Clemson so you have a variety of things to choose from. We also have a student union where pool tables, a bowling alley, and other games are located.
Food and Dining I don't recommend getting a meal plan after your freshman year. You are required your freshman year to purchase one but after that....you're probably going to be happier with out it. I don't agree with the cleanliness level at the dining halls and that's an important factor to me. I cook my own meals.
Dorm Life Dorm life depends on who you live with and where you decide to live. CHOOSE WISELY. If you don't mind sharing with a group of people then suites are for you. If you are more particular about sharing, go for the individual apartments on campus.
Academic Rigor The academics at Clemson are rigorous so do not expect hand outs from professors.
Tips for prospective students Focusing on studies and keeping in mind that you have a goal to reach is always the best reminder if you intend to graduate. Always take extra credit opportunities and pay attention in class. Try to have a rough schedule of how the day will go so you can get a decent amount of sleep. Being well rested is essential in college.
In three sentences Clemson is a great university that can prepare you to be efficient in the work force if you take advantage of the opportunities available. The name of the university catches the eye so it is a great accomplishment to have graduated from this prestigious school. Your experience at Clemson will definitely be one of a kind.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Very safe campus if you have the sense to be aware of your surroundings and avoid dumb choices.
Clubs and Activities Will be looking to ways to fill up my time non-academic time.
Great for these types of students Strong students, true southern, football fans. Not sure that it's the best place to find diversity.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Other than the traditions around football games, I don't know yet.
Bang for the buck I hope my experience is great because I'll be leaving Clemson with a mountain of debt.
What to do for fun Great place if you like the outdoors - lake Hartwell, hiking, waterfalls, skiing nearby. Lots to do on campus as well. I like fitness so there is always something physical/athletic to do. You just have to reach out to find something you enjoy. I have heard that being in a learning community makes reaching out easier.
Food and Dining Lots of on campus options for dining and I plan to take advantage of all of them often. I esp. hope that the food is good at the Clemson House dorm if I get assigned there to live.
Dorm Life Clemson has a lot of good options for freshman and many learning communities from which to choose. I liked Clemson House the best when I toured so I'm hoping to get assigned there.
Academic Rigor Everything I have heard indicates that overall Clemson is academically rigorous and more so in selected academic programs like engineering and pre-professional studies. I haven't attended yet so I am going off from reputation and others comments.
Tips for prospective students Apply as early as possible to get the best options for scholarships, dorms and academic choices. Go to an early orientation session if possible.
In three sentences Love the natural setting of the campus, near the lake and in the mountains. The people seem friendly and willing to talk to me about what they love about Clemson U. When I was there, there was a lot of energy, esp. about the upcoming football season.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Campus safety is very important here. They have programs that offer safe traveling to and from your classes as well as blue emergency lights around campus. There are always police patrolling the area.
Greek Life Clemson has a very large and active Greek life. There are around 49 different Fraternities and Sororities.
Clubs and Activities There is a club or organization to fit any person's interest. Some of the different categories for clubs include Creative/Performing Arts, Cultural/International, Governing, Honorary, Media, Political Activism, Professional/Academic/Dept, Religious/Faith, Service/Advocacy, Social Fraternity/Sorority, Special Interest, and Sports/Recreation.
Great for these types of students Clemson is great for any student who knows what they want and are willing to work hard to achieve it. This school is not for people who plan on trying to get through by doing the bare minimum. It requires strength and dedication but the end result is well worth the long hours of studying.
Bang for the buck Clemson can be a little pricey but it is worth it in the long run. Students who graduate from here are very likely to find good paying jobs more quickly than if they had the same degree from another SC school. Employers know that graduates from Clemson have had to work very hard for their degree and are prepared to face any challenge that may come their way.
What to do for fun There are tons of clubs, organizations, and intramural sports teams offered through the University. Some of the different categories for clubs include Creative/Performing Arts, Cultural/International, Governing, Honorary, Media, Political Activism, Professional/Academic/Dept, Religious/Faith, Service/Advocacy, Social Fraternity/Sorority, Special Interest, and Sports/Recreation. There is something to suit anyone's interest, the only problem will be which one to choose! Also for fun, one organization, CLEMSONLiVE, which is a student-run entertainment board, plans a variety of free on-campus events throughout the year, including weekly movies, dances and concerts.
Food and Dining Clemson offers many different places to eat on campus. There are 13 places total, including a few dining halls, cafes, and a Chili's Too as well. They offer cuisine to suit pretty much any type of diet or satisfy any craving you may get while on campus.
Dorm Life I can't accurately rate the dorm life because I have never stayed in the dorms here at Clemson but based on what I've heard from friends, the dorm life is not bad at all. The different dorm halls are frequently throwing fun parties for students and having other types of socials as well.
Academic Rigor I give Clemson's academic rigor a 4-star rating rather than a 5-star because it is very challenging but I imagine there might still be a more challenging school out there (such as an Ivy League school). The professors expect students to take full advantage of all the out-side-of-class opportunities to help with their learning. While the professors are very knowledgeable of their subjects, they sometimes find it difficult to convey the information in a way that is easy to understand. Professors are always willing to meet with students outside of class to help explain topics, and there is also supplemental instruction, the academic success center, tutoring, and if all else fails, YouTube videos to help a student understand important concepts. This is not a school that can easily be passed without utilizing these opportunities and studying for hours.
Tips for prospective students You have to come into this school with a desire to learn and you have to be prepared to study, a lot. Clemson is not easy by any means but that is what makes getting a degree from here worth it.
In three sentences Clemson is a very challenging school where expectations of students is very high. The professors are incredibly knowledgeable of the subjects they are teaching & they exhibit a desire to see their students succeed. The Clemson campus is absolutely gorgeous and there are tons of extra curricular clubs and organizations to fit anyone's interest.

Dorm Life The dorms are nice, but they are definitely smaller than your room at home. There are some really nice common areas as well.
Academic Rigor The classes are hard but manageable if you are willing to put the time into them.

What to do for fun Go to sporting events, football, soccer, basketball. Join a club and be receptive to meeting new people.
Food and Dining The food on campus was fine. I found that I would rather sleep than eat breakfast and usually ate lunch and dinner daily. Rating is 7 on scale of 10.
Dorm Life Clemson House was very old and very cramped dorm rooms. My room mates were slobs and sharing 1 bath was a nightmare. Rating is 1 out of 10.
Academic Rigor I took a full schedule both semesters and found the academics very challenging. Be prepared to study (I am in the premed program) and work hard . Rating is high.
Tips for prospective students Be prepared to study very hard. Try to get involved in an activity that interests you. Enjoy the colors purple and orange.

Categories Comments What to do for fun During the Fall semester there is always a football game in Death Valley or an away game being projected in the ampitheatre. There is never a lack of parties if that's what you like and with more than 300 clubs you are sure to find a close fit with people you like.
Food and Dining It may not be as good as mom made, but there is always something good. Friday means sundae bars and the on campus food courts have everything from Chili's and Chick-Fil-A to Baskin Robins.
Dorm Life Clemson's resident assistant and housing staff are always there to lend an ear, bake cookies, or just hang out; but they don't impose themselves on you and they'll give students their space to grow up!
Academic Rigor The academics at Clemson always expect you to give your all and will challenge you to succeed beyond where you thought you could ever reach.
Tips for prospective students Clemson is an academically rigorous school and challenging school. The professors know you are smart because you got in; as such they will allows expect you to do your best. That being said, there isn't a professor on campus who will turn you away when you ask for help and you should always take advantage of that fact!
In three sentences Clemson is the most welcoming and warm environment I have seen at a university. I have spent my Summer's interning and doing research at other universities; but I have yet to see another school with professors who care as much about their students as those at Clemson. There isn't anywhere I would rather be.

Categories Comments Campus Safety I have never once felt unsafe on Clemson's campus. I wouldn't say there are huge precautions to keep campus safe but really, I don't think they are that necessary. Clemson is a very safe and inviting campus.
Clubs and Activities There are clubs for almost anything you can imagine, and if there's not, you can always apply to start your own!
Great for these types of students Clemson is great for students who have pride in their school, are interested in athletics, want an excellent education along with everything else that college has to offer, and love beautiful weather.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Clemson is full of traditions that everyone loves and takes pride in.
What to do for fun There are always things going on on campus. There are athletic events throughout the year. Of course tailgating and football games are what most everyone is doing on Saturdays in the Fall. In other seasons though there is basketball and baseball which lots of people enjoy. There are also events going on through on campus clubs that students can join, fraternities and sororities, and many other organizations. CLEMSONLiVE is an organization on campus that hosts free events for students several times a week that can usually be a very good time for students to enjoy. There are also places downtown that people like to go if they are 21 and there is Crocs for 18+ people that can be fun sometimes.
Food and Dining Dining, to me, is very hit or miss. Some days there are great choices that people really enjoy and other days the sandwich line may be quite long because there doesn't seem to be very many good choices. When the food is good, its good, but some days you wish they'd have better choices.
Dorm Life Dorm life can very from hall to hall and floor to floor. I lived in Holmes Hall, the honors college dorm for one year and I liked it pretty well. I did not develop relationships with people in my dorm as much as I would have liked but that is not true of other friends that I had that lived in Holmes or elsewhere. I think the dorm experience all depends on where you are placed and what you put into it. Overall, the dorm experience was pretty good and living on campus was extremely convenient.
Academic Rigor Clemson is an excellent nationally ranked university and therefore can be very rigorous. A student chooses their level of difficulty somewhat in their choice of major and subsequent choice of classes but it is my opinion that classes at Clemson are challenging but are manageable and will be very beneficial to your future career.
In three sentences Clemson is an amazing and beautiful place full of school spirit, friendly people, and nature's beauty. Clemson is a great university to get an amazing education and be pushed academically as well as get the full college experience outside of the classroom. Plus, nothing beats a Clemson football game in Death Valley!

Categories Comments Campus Safety Campus does have a very safe feel to it. There are emergency phones located across campus, Tiger Transit is available to give you rides at night, and the campus police patrols at night.
Clubs and Activities Clemson has too many clubs and activities to count. From dance clubs to WISE (Women in Science and Engineering) to club and intramural sports, you can definitely find a place on campus.
Great for these types of students Clemson is great for students looking for a more intimate setting in a small, very supportive and spirited college town.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Legend has it that if you walk through Presidents park holding hands with your significant other, you will remain together. Also, if you read the plaque in front of Tilman Hall, you won't graduate.
What to do for fun Students can visit the beach, attend concerts, and attend other performances, such as comedy. There are also greek parties all week as well as many clubs and organizations to join.
Food and Dining Both dining halls are good, and there are plenty of other options both on campus and off. There are many great restaurants downtown as well as around Clemson.
Dorm Life Dorm life is good, although there is so much to do on campus that you might not be in your room very often. In my dorm at least, people were extremely excited about meeting their neighbors and making new friends.
Academic Rigor Classes are challenging, especially honors courses, but professors are always willing to answer questions and meet outside of class for extra help.
Tips for prospective students Before buying textbooks on the school website, look around for other options to find cheaper books. Get involved in anything and everything that interests you; you'll make more friends and maybe connections for the future.
In three sentences Clemson is homey, welcoming, and a great place to learn. There are so many clubs, events, and activities that any student can find a place for themselves. Professors are helpful and want you to do your best.

Categories Comments What to do for fun There are all the outdoor sports of the mountains- climbing, mountain biking, hiking, bouldering, camping, white water rafting and kayaking, backpacking, and all the rest. CORE offers plenty of trips throughout the semester and easy access to all sorts of gear you might need to rent! There's a huge amount of Greek life going on around campus for social life. Plenty of fields for soccer, football, frisbee, or whatever else you can come up with. Tennis courts, volleyball nets, campus beach and all of Lake Hartwell. Lake Keowee and Lake Jocasse are nearby as well for more! Cliff jumping, flatwater kayaking, canoes, swimming or just enjoying some sun. There's countless clubs and organizations that let you get into anything you want, whether its indoors or out, business-like or not, with animals or without, adventurous or relaxing. The list goes on and on there's no fitting Clemson in a little box on the internet.
Food and Dining So mass food is never going to be great, but some of the staff in Harcombe and Schilleter are pretty friendly. The food is fresher somedays than others, and you can always tell if you just grabbed a leftover cookie. But there's a great amount of variety, and a big debate between which dining hall is better- its all personal preference!
Dorm Life Loved the dorms. I've made some lifelong friends, and I even lived in what's considered some of the worst dorms on campus. The shoeboxes really don't earn their terrible reputation, the community is great and anyone who has actually lived there wouldn't trade the experience for anything. Plus we got sinks in our rooms!
Academic Rigor Classes are tough- and its important to get to know your professors if you can. Big classes are intimidating and can be hard to focus in, but if you go to office hours and tutoring sessions, there will be no problem! It's like everyone says- college is hard.
Tips for prospective students It's important to explore everything the school can offer, take advantage of clubs and trips. The outdoor program is awesome if you're into that sort of thing. Also, Greek life plays a big role in the social life of Clemson and its fun to get involved! But if you're not looking to go Greek then all you have to do is put in the effort to explore a little. There are countless ways to meet people around campus and people here are so friendly and welcoming. Also- getting to know your professors on a bit more of a personal level will be to your advantage! Ask questions after class or go to office hours. You have to put in that extra effort with big freshman classes!
In three sentences The enrollment numbers were a little intimidating for me, but everyone knows everyone at Clemson. It really is such a tight knit community that literally has a niche for everyone. Greek life has a pretty loud voice on campus, but there is an entire world of clubs and student groups to join; you just have to make the commitment.

Categories Comments Clubs and Activities So many to choose from and if you find that there isn't a club there for you, then you could start your own fairly easily.
Great for these types of students Any and all students will excel here so long as they are willing to put forth a little extra effort.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus I'm not sure about the unusual traditions of Clemson; however I have seen people sitting on top of some of the buildings and I am sure the view is much better 4 or 5 stories up.
Bang for the buck I love everything about Clemson; for me it was like leaving home and going to a home away from home. The campus was inviting, the people are nice, and the small town aspect just brought everything home for me.
What to do for fun There is so much to do for fun that one can get lost in having fun; there is rock climbing, swimming, diving, tae kwon do and many other forms of self defense class, basketball, track and field, and just so many other things to do with ones spare time.
Food and Dining Better than most high school cafeteria food; however the dining halls do get to be a bit repetitive. The fix for that is downtown Clemson, which is just fifteen footsteps off campus and the few restaurants on campus.
Dorm Life Depending on where you live and with whom you are living with, dorm life can be wonderful or horrible. Just be sure to establish who you are with each person living with you and be respectful; people will give respect if given respect.
Academic Rigor The classes are designed to challenge every student in every possible way. There are plenty of opportunities to succeed and excel so long as the student is willing to work.
Tips for prospective students Be prepared to work, Clemson's professors will help any student with any work; however, they do expect the student to put forth effort in their class. Make the right friends; friends will either help you in your classes or they will drag you down. Always be polite and get to know each professor personally, they are more adept to help a student if they know who they are helping.
In three sentences Clemson University has a very beautiful campus and has a plethora of amazing professors that really strive to give each student the best education possible. The people around campus are always nice and will help anyone with just about anything. Clemson is all around a wonderful school with wonderful professors; I love it.

Food and Dining The dining hall food is alright. It is nothing special at all, but Schiletter has wonderful dessert! Cookie breaks at Harcombe are always fun as well! :D
Dorm Life I had an absolute ball in my dorm room. My side of the hallway all got along. It was absolutely a blast. Lever Hall was where I stayed. Try to get Bryan Circle if you can! The shoe boxes are really small!
Academic Rigor The work load is MUCH, much larger than in high school. It is not uncommon to spend Friday nights studying every now and then. The classes at Clemson are tough! Be ready to study hard.

Food and Dining Clemson's food and dining services may not be as good as the homemade meals your parents make, but it good. The best part about the dining hall is it is like a all you can eat buffet.
Dorm Life Dorm life is amazing. Don't think that they are not going to give you any freedom because they will as long as your safety isn't jeopardized then you'll be alright. Living in dorms give you the opportunity to get to know your peers. Take advantage of this time.
Academic Rigor I would be lying to you if I told you Clemson was an easy school. You have to work to succeed. That's what you have to do and the real world so why not start learning at Clemson.
Tips for prospective students Get to know as many people as possible. Connections are key to a successful college career. Those connections may also help you later in life.
In three sentences If your looking for a challenge academically, Clemson is the school for you. They make sure they prepare you for the career you planning on pursing. Clemson is an amazing school all round, not to mention the amazing Clemson Tiger football team!

Categories Comments Campus Safety This is definitely one of the safest campuses I have been to. Its all about being smart, however, if you have to be out late, or put yourself in a dangerous situation, there are plenty of campus police available to assist you at anytime. Overall the tight-knit community makes it easy to stay safe.
Food and Dining I LOVE CLEMSON FOOD!!! Since my first time eating at Harcombe Dining Hall I have (literally) not been able to stomach the sheer disappointment in the food my high school has been serving me. Every day I spend of my senior year I find myself wishing for some good Clemson food.
Dorm Life The few times I have stayed in the dorms, I have to say I was not really impressed, but a few (like Clemson House) are really cool. The dorms are on campus which is nice, and are generally pretty clean which is a definite necessity.
Academic Rigor Clemson is a very challenging school in terms of public schools. I have been told that some of the classes are extremely easy, but most are pretty challenging. If you are someone who wants an even harder curriculum, shoot for Calhoun Honors College.
Tips for prospective students Keep your GPA up and your SAT score high. Clemson is selective, but it never hurts to apply even if you think you will not get in! Also, never think that just because you have a 1600 on the SAT or a 4.0 you will get in. Clemson seems to look a lot at extracurricular activities too.
In three sentences Clemson is the right school for absolutely anyone. Whether you want to go into nursing, engineering, or agriculture, Clemson University has it. You never have to change to fit the college's needs, they are constantly changing to fit yours.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Clemson takes campus safety seriously and so do the students. There are many emergency stations one can find if in need of help, there are cabs that take students around campus, and there are campus safety officers making sure everything stays in line. Clemson has the small town feel and it feels safe and secure at all times of the day.
Greek Life Greek life is very prominent on campus, but if it is not for a student, there are still many people around who are not in a sorority or fraternity. With roughly 23 percent of the students involved in Greek life, Clemson has a variety of sororities and fraternities. There are social, service, and professional sororities and fraternities, so one can find one to fit their liking.
Clubs and Activities Clemson has over 400 clubs and organizations right now and there is a program available that if one has enough people who like the same activity, they will be able to start their own club. There are many options, from Church organizations to Academic clubs to Athletics, Clemson students can find anything to fit their desires.
Great for these types of students Clemson is great for well rounded students who know how to balance work and play. Clemson is fit for anyone since it is so diverse. Clemson is perfect for people who enjoy sports, greek life, and a large variety of clubs and organizations all while getting a great education.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Come Fridays, it is Solid Orange Friday where everyone will wear orange. Before the first home football game is the First Friday Parade downtown with all the clubs and greek life floats. The Hill at Death Valley is where students sit at football games and the players run down after touching the rock.
Bang for the buck Clemson has fair tuition prices and prices all around. Out of state costs may seem a little high, but it is a top 25 public university, and one will see the costs pay off. Clemson's costs are fair since one is receiving a quality education, endless resources, and aluma network that is worth the costs.
What to do for fun Clemson has over 400 clubs and organizations, so likely there will be a club for anyone. Join a new club, try a new sport, join a sorority or fraternity, go to the lake, go workout or rock climb at Fike, shop downtown, play sports on Bowman, or hang out around campus, there is always something going on. Greenville and Anderson are close for days when one wants to go off campus, but on campus there are many options and activities going on to find fun!
Food and Dining Clemson has many different dining options and the Paw Points system only makes dining easier. Schilletter, Harcombe, and Clemson House serve a wide variety of foods and accommodate for almost any need. The Union and Student Center both have various dining options you can use Paw Points at and downtown has endless places to go and eat!
Dorm Life The dorm life is amazing here at Clemson. The rooms are all rather large, the rooms come with lots of shelving space and storage space, and the halls are all up to date and clean. The kids who live in the dorm life are all welcoming and with a little effort, one can easily make lots of new friends.
Academic Rigor Some may think that Clemson is not a top notch school academically, but that is incorrect. Classes have the right balance between being a lot of work and completely interesting. Classes will make you work, but with time management, anyone can be successful at Clemson.
Tips for prospective students Be prepared to love orange and purple, since school spirit is the backbone of Clemson. Be prepared to work hard in classes, since they are not only challenging but interesting. Come prepared to meet new people, join new clubs, and try new sports, at Clemson the more involved you are, the more likely you are to fall in love with it!

Categories Comments Campus Safety There has never been a time when I have not felt safe on this campus, whether during the day or at night. The CUPD has a strong presence on campus and does their job extremely well.
Greek Life Greek life is currently about 23% of the student population. They do a wonderful job putting academics ahead of the social life and also raising a ton money for their philanthropies.
Great for these types of students Clemson is great for students who liked to be involved in a wide range of things. We are a very diverse campus in that there is literally something for everyone.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus If you come to Clemson you must try the ice cream! We have our own dairy and make the ice cream on campus.
What to do for fun At Clemson we pride ourselves on our sports. There are several intramural opportunities and of course the actual sporting events which are free to all students. There are also several parties and festivals held throughout the year for students to attend.
Food and Dining The food is typical cafeteria food. While it may not be the best, Clemson is working to provide more nutritious options. Also, the staff is extremely nice and is willing to help you in any way they can.
Dorm Life Simply put, some dorms are better than others. Overall, they are clean, spacious, and have all of the essentials you could possibly need. All dorms are air conditioned as well.
Academic Rigor At Clemson the academic rigor really depends on the major. However all classes are taught at a college level so they will move a little faster and go deeper than what your probably used to.
Tips for prospective students Just be yourself and think about where you personally fit in. Your college has to be the place that you can see yourself spending four years. Try your best in school and make sure you have consistent involvement in activities and clubs. Clemson loves well-rounded students.
In three sentences Clemson has a wonderful spirited atmosphere. The campus is compact, with everything both academic and social less than a ten minute walk. All of the students and professors are extremely welcoming and are willing to help in any way possible.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Clemson offers Tiger Transit for free transportation around campus between the hours of 6pm and 6am for anyone who wouldn't like to walk home alone. There are also call boxes for campus police located periodically throughout campus.
Greek Life There are a ton of opportunities to get into sororities or fraternities here. Rush for girls is generally the first two weeks of school where as fraternities have rush the weeks after.
Clubs and Activities Clemson has over 400 clubs to get into. If there isn't a club for you, join up 13 other kids and you can start a club yourself with funding from the university.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Clemson has Solid Friday's where all the students wear orange.
Bang for the buck Clemson is just an all around great school especially for science and math majors. It is in a beautiful area only about an hour and a half away from both Charlotte and Atlanta. There are plenty of things to do around here to keep busy!
What to do for fun Clemson offers quite a few different activities here and there. Between fitness classes at Fike, movies in the theater at Hendrix Hall, and the concerts and clubs, there's hardly any room to relax. Clemson may not have much of a city setting, but there are still plenty of things to do around here.
Food and Dining Clemson doesn't have the best food around here. You'll get a feel for which of the dining halls are better than the others. Schilletter Dining hall is great when you need a quick snack though Harcombe has plenty more options. Clemson House has a tiny dining hall on the ground floor which has the best brunch on Saturday's and Sunday's!
Dorm Life Dorm life is not just run-of-the-mill here. Living in a dorm gives us the opportunity to connect to other students and make friends quickly. The RA's are students just like us who are always ready to help with schoolwork and other conflicts. Living here in the dorms is just like living with family.
Academic Rigor Coming to Clemson is not like going into another year of high school. The courses are half as long here on the semester schedule, meaning twice as much information is covered in half the time. Keep up with your studies so you won't follow behind. Develop good study habits early.
Tips for prospective students Looking to come to Clemson? If so, I recommend not to bring your car your first semester! You won't need it, especially if you're living on campus. Sign up for clubs on Tiger Prowl, but not too many. Giving out your email can lead to a ton of spam from clubs you're not even interested in! Take advantage of Fike Recreation Center. They have all kinds of classes to keep us students in shape! Don't fall behind on your work.
In three sentences Clemson University is a large yet cozy university. The campus has one of the highest ratings when it comes to overall student happiness which proves true as of the first two months of my living here as a freshman. Also, the college is all about school spirit which is perfect for anyone looking to get involved!

Categories Comments Campus Safety One of the best things about Clemson is the safety here. There are buses that run until 6 pm and after that (until 6 am and free of charge) is Tiger Transit, a system that will pick you up where ever you are and take you to where you need to go.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Clemson is full of traditions and superstitions! From saving certain experiences until you graduate (if you don't, it's bad luck!) to Solid Orange Friday.
What to do for fun There's always Bowman, a field where you can gather and play frisbee or volleyball. Outside of my dorm there's a volleyball court. Fike (the gym) is always open and is full of great work out machines. There is almost always something going on.
Food and Dining There are many places to eat on campus and the two dining halls are not that bad. The staff there do their best to make you feel at home.
Dorm Life No dorm on campus is terrible, though some are certainly much better then others. My dorm has a open door policy which really helped me to make some great friends.
Academic Rigor All colleges are tough, but here at Clemson they strive to make sure every student that graduates is at the top and knows what they're doing. So, that means the classes reflect this and challenge students.
Tips for prospective students Come here ready to work, teachers will help you if you need it, but you should first help yourself. Clemson is a smaller campus, but you should really try to learn your way around campus before classes start.
In three sentences Clemson is a wonderful place to be. Everyone here makes you feel welcomed. The family atmosphere experienced at Clemson is like no other.

Categories Comments Campus Safety The campus is very safe, and it really does feel like a bubble that keeps intruders and anyone who's not a Clemson fan out of the town. There really are rarely any problems where the police get involved other than the usual alcohol poisoning, or the athletes experimenting with recreational drugs. Other than that, Clemson is a very safe town!
Greek Life Greek life really have most of the fun! A lot of the parties thrown in college are thrown by greek life and most people end up going greek while they're here. They really are all very close and committed to public service and they keep you motivated throughout your time here.
Clubs and Activities There is constantly something to do on campus whether you're a part of a club or not! There is definitely a club for everyone here and you'll be sure to find people who enjoy the same things you do!
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Every year, the lake in the middle of campus is died orange to show Clemson spirit for football season!
Food and Dining Dining hall food is never anything college students usually brag about. There are three dining halls, and one that's pretty far away from the middle of campus has amazing brunch on Sundays! Other than that, it's pretty much typical cafeteria food, and if you're not careful, you'll gain the freshman fifteen before you know it!
Dorm Life There are many different types of dorms. They have the mostly athletic dorms, all girls and all boys dorms, greek housing, international housing, honors dorms, rotc dorms, and dorms for mainly freshman in certain programs that have to do with their majors. Most of the dorms are pretty close to clases, and even though some have communal bathrooms and can get a bit gross at times, the staff do their best to make it a safe, fairly clean living environment.
Academic Rigor Clemson's academics are not very hard, it's mostly just a lot of work piled on at once. It teaches students how to manage their time and how to become critical thinkers. Professors are almost always there for the students and are more than happy to help them and accomodate their needs!
Tips for prospective students I would definitely recommend Clemson to anyone who wants to go to school and have the typical college experience. Although it is in the south, which is usually very conservative, you will find that everyone at Clemson will show you what southern hospitality is all about!
In three sentences Clemson is a fun college town and with the right attitude, anyone can have a lot of fun here! Most people are very friendly and football season is everyone's favorite time of year! Once you go to Clemson, you'll bleed orange forever!

Food and Dining There's multiple places to choose from and your meal plan covers most of them. I personally enjoy the food, I get something different every time, and the people who serve the food are awesome.
Dorm Life Dorm life is awesome, I live off campus and I miss living in the dorms. You are close to campus and you learn to really enjoy your hall-mates, I currently live in a apartment with 3 of them.
Academic Rigor Clemson University will prepare you for the next step. You will have to study a lot, but this is college and it's not suppose to be easy.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Transportation is provided by Tiger Transit at night to help students get from place to place and feel secure. There are also CUPD (Clemson University Police) around patrolling to keep students safe, as well as little call boxes dispersed throughout campus. I have never felt in danger.
Greek Life I've already mentioned that Greek life is kind of big at Clemson. There are several social, professional, and service sororities and fraternities at Clemson. You can definitely have fun without participating in it, though.
Clubs and Activities There is everything from rowing to dance to chess club to the high five club. Every year before classes start, all the organizations set up booths on Bowman field and students can check out whatever they're interested in. Sports, Greek life, academics, debate, religious groups, ethnic groups; there is something for everyone.
Great for these types of students Country students from small towns or farms, Math and science enthusiasts, sorority girls or fraternity guys, Christian students (we have one of the largest FCA's )
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus We have a turfgrass major. I suppose they study assorted grasses. There is also a botanical garden which is lovely. Homecoming week is full of traditions; from the parade. to tiger roar, and the floats out on Bowman field. And of course, the most exciting 30 seconds of college football- when the team runs down the hill.
Bang for the buck The meal plan is a good deal, housing is a bit expensive compared to the off campus apartments, which are larger and less expensive, but there is plenty of off campus living for college students. Clemson really is a college town, there isn't much city life going on, but it is a beautiful, charming place. If you want to come to a little friendly, southern town with a good people and academics, come here! Especially if engineering or agriculture is your thing!
What to do for fun Greek life is big at Clemson, it seems like here is some function or formal every night that the girls on my hall are going to. In such a rural place, partying is what most kids do for fun on the weekends. Going downtown is also popular. Clemson provides many activities, as well, such as; free movies, cheap bowling, decorating activities, and other assorted fun throughout the year.
Food and Dining There are a decent amount of options, but those options rarely change, there also isn't much for a vegetarian to eat. The desserts are delicious though!
Dorm Life While sharing a bathroom with 16 other people isn't ideal, the people on my hall are really friendly, and it's easy to bond over walking up ten flights of stairs when the elevator is broken. We keep our doors open and talk to each other when we pass in the halls. The people on your floor really can become some of your good friends.
Academic Rigor As long as you attend class, and go over your material a few times before quizzes or tests, you should be able to succeed. Of course some classes and majors require more time and effort, but the teachers make the work fair and tolerable.
Tips for prospective students You should be prepared for a small, southern town, learn to understand those country accents, and leave the heavy winter coats at home. Welcome to the south. Go to class, get to know the students in your classes, and don't be afraid to talk to the professors. They may seem intimidating, but they really are nice and helpful!
In three sentences Clemson University is in a small, friendly town that has a lot of rural charm. The academics are the best in the state, and students get a lot out of the courses they take. The atmosphere is not only friendly, but challenging and satisfying.

Categories Comments What to do for fun You don't have to go very far to have fun in Clemson. Most of the time, all it takes is walking into the dining hall to find someone you know and having lunch with them. Downtown is also a nice little getaway. There is a bowling alley, ping pong tables, and plenty of places to watch television as well.
Food and Dining The dining hall is where you can frequently find friends and a large array of food. I love the atmosphere.
Dorm Life My dorm is clean and comfortable. While I expected having a roommate and sharing a bathroom with an entire hall of girls to be frustrating, I have found it to be an experience that has brought me closer to the friends I have met here.
Academic Rigor The professors take their courses seriously, while remaining compassionate about their students. I feel as though I am getting an above average education.
Tips for prospective students Prospective students should come with an open mind to meeting new people. Talk to everyone you see. Chances are they are looking for a friend, too.
In three sentences Clemson is such an inviting, beautiful, and homey place to be studying for my intended profession. Categories Comments Campus Safety The campus is enclosed and has a small-town feel. Tiger Transit provides rides around campus from 6 pm- 6 am. Located throughout the campus are emergency buttons.
Greek Life A great experience that is more than just a social organization. The sororities and fraternities are actively involved in the Clemson community and have great academic records. Great opportunity for anyone looking to be a part of an organization with life-lasting ties.
Clubs and Activities Clemson offers clubs for just about everything! Clubs have requirements to meet to ensure that all are a meaningful experience.
Great for these types of students Active and involved students! Students who love sports. Anyone looking for a big university with a small-time personal campus feel!
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The football players all rub Howard's Rock before running down the hill before every home game in Death Valley...the most exciting 25 seconds of college football! Do not read the writing on Thomas Green Clemson's statue....or it is said you will not graduate.
Bang for the buck Worth every penny! A great experience both academically and socially.
What to do for fun Football season in the fall...enough said. Clemson has a great intramural program. There are nearby hiking and biking trails. Table Rock is a great climb. The campus is beautiful for a morning run or an evening stroll. Campus beach where students can swim, tan, kayak, or boat.
Food and Dining The cafeteria has a wide variety of stations that cater to different tastes, but the stations are very repetitive in their selections. Downtown Clemson has great dining options on a college budget. The campus also has a good selection of fast-food and coffee options.
Dorm Life The dorms are very community-oriented which helps students get to know their neighbors. They have card-access limited only to the students living there to provide safety. The dorms are nice.
Academic Rigor Every major is going to vary just as every student's academic abilities will. However, the classes at Clemson are designed to challenge students and provide a learning experience to last a lifetime. The classes at Clemson help students make decisions about what they want to do for the rest of their life.
Tips for prospective students Schedule a visit to the campus and take an official tour. Try to come visit for a football game or other sporting event, this way you can get a glimpse into the life of a Clemson tiger! Everyone is friendly so do not be afraid to ask anyone about their Clemson experience.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Clemson has a very safe campus because it is a college town with very little crime.
Greek Life Greek life at Clemson is huge because there are so many fraternities and sororities that can be joined. Rushing for fraternities is very fun because every frat throws huge open parties for a week straight at the beginning of every semester that anyone can go to and it helps people decide if they want to be in that frat or not.
Clubs and Activities There is a Club for pretty much anything at Clemson, and if there isn't one for some reason, you can make one as long as you have enough people wanting to start it up with you.
Great for these types of students Great for students who work hard in school but also love to have fun on the weekends and at football games.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus For every home football game the team runs down the hill in the stadium and touches Howard's rock for good luck and a cannon is fired. For homecoming all of the Fraternities and Sororities build floats on bowman field. That is only a few of the traditions at Clemson.
Bang for the buck Clemson is a great school with a beautiful campus, a huge football stadium, helpful teachers, and a ton of things to do! If you are in state tuition is very cheap, however, if you are out of state it can be kind of expensive but it still a great deal.
What to do for fun The bars in Clemson are all great! They have specials for everyday of the week and are very fun every time you go there (when you are 21 anyways). Gameday in Death Valley (Clemson's Football Stadium) is one of a kind and there is just an energy there that no other school has. Also joining clubs that you like is a great way to have fun with your friends.
Food and Dining The dining halls in Clemson are decent, but Harcombe definitely has more of a selection than Schilletter. They usually serve similar meals every week, but there are plenty of other places to go eat in town or on campus such as Chipotle, Moes, Chickfila, Zaxby's, and Chili's. The Tigerone card can be used at any of these places to get food fast and easily.
Dorm Life Dorm life in Clemson is pretty good, but some dorms are definitely better than others. Clemson house is one of the best dorms for freshman because you get a bigger room than other places and Johnstone is one of the worst because the walls are made of very thin metal and therefore you can hear everything your neighbors say or do. Dorms are also a great place to meet friends that you'll have for the rest of your college career.
Academic Rigor Depending on which major you are going into, some classes are harder than others. For example, Engineering majors generally have much harder classes and a heavier work load than say Business majors, but that doesn't mean that business majors do not have some hard classes down the road too. The Calhoun Honors College usually goes into more depth with their material for each class, but the class sizes are much smaller than normal classes so you really get to familiarize yourself with your teachers.
Tips for prospective students Go to the library to study and to do work for your classes because there are way less distractions in there than there are in your dorm room; plus you can get a coffee at Javacity to help you focus. Join some clubs or intramural sports that you find interesting because chances are that you'll meet people in there that have similar interests to you and you'll meet a bunch of new friends. Use the Fike Recreation Center to work out, play sports, go swimming, or go rock climbing because it is very stress relieving to be in there not thinking about school work for a while.
In three sentences Clemson is a great school with many challenging classes that can be taken, but it is also a great experience all around. The football team is great, the campus is beautiful, the people you meet are all extremely nice and helpful, and it is just a fun college-town environment. There are plenty of places to eat and to go out with your friends to have a good time so Clemson is never a boring place.

What to do for fun Greek life, FCA, football games. I never get bored at Clemson University.
Food and Dining Variety and choices are always good.
Dorm Life It is hard to get used to but you make so many friends and meet so many people, its so worth it.
Academic Rigor Clemson is a very difficult college but the tail gating, the incredible campus and the great student involvement makes all those long nights in the library worth it.
Tips for prospective students Work hard in high school, take as many AP and honors classes as possible. It may not be fun then but I promise Clemson was the best decision I ever made.

Categories Comments Campus Safety CUPD and CPD patrol the campus at all hours, everyday of the week, all weeks in the year. If you ever find yourself in a bad situation, ever few hundred feet, there lies a police emergency button that will alert authorities to your location when pressed. Also, during the night, a CAT bus will come around and pick up students if they feel they are unsafe at their current location.
Greek Life I am not apart of a greek fraternity, but from what my friends say, the fraternities are a lot of fun. Throughout the year, the fraternities will host events and bring numerous artists to sing at the college.
Clubs and Activities There are hundreds of clubs that cover just about every topic, idea, and activity that you could possibly do. If there is not a club for what you want, it is easy to make one. The school hosts many activities for its student body throughout the year and being in certain clubs gives you benefits around the college.
Great for these types of students Introverted, extroverted, intelligent, sport affiliated, fun-seeking, higher education seekers, are all great candidates for Clemson University.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Orange friday where every friday, the entire student body wears orange clothing and gets free things from Library Bridge. Randomly people will sing Clemson cheers at outdoor and indoor events.
Bang for the buck From the exercising rooms, to the scenery, from the dining choices, to the academic standing, Clemson is by far my favorite college that I have been to. Clemson University is an outstanding school and is guaranteed to give any prospective student the tools needed to acquire a great job after schooling.
What to do for fun Biking, jogging, swimming, frisbee, golf, tennis, soccer, football, for just about any hobby or sport there exists a club or team for it. Also, if you do not wish to join a team, you can just walk on the fields with random people and have a great time.
Food and Dining The campus offers 3 dining halls that are apart of the meal plan, 2 food courts that offer a variety of fast food and sushi, Wendy's, and numerous other places all around the campus. The dining halls offer fast and easy foods along with super health food choices. The variety of foods offered is great for diverse people and the dining halls even sponsor cultural weeks where each day is a culture theme.
Dorm Life All of the dorms are vibrant and lively with spirit. Quickly, no matter what dorm you are in, you will find a diverse set of individuals that work together to have fun and get through the school year. Some of the dorms are nicer than others, but overall, the fun you have in the dorms and the friendships you form outweigh anything negative.
Academic Rigor Well, depending on you major will determine the difficulty of the courses you are taking. I know the engineering and physics/astronomy majors have challenging and time consuming courses that require wit and time management. While other majors like education are not as involved with technicalities.
Tips for prospective students Make sure you have good grades and do not slack off in the first year. yes you can have fun, but do not neglect your studies. It will only make it harder for you to graduate on time.
In three sentences Clemson University is an awesome school with a great staff and student body. The spirit of Clemson is strong and is visible everyday with solid orange and purple everywhere. The academic standing of the school is good, the professors challenge you to strive and work with you to succeed.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Clemson tries it's very best to make sure that it's campus is safe. They have safety walks, CUPD text/email alert subscriptions, and a transportation option called TigerTransit. TigerTransit will pick up and drop off a student at any location on campus at night.
Greek Life I am not personally in a sorority/fraternity. I do know people that are in such organizations who dearly enjoy the opportunities and parties that are a part of this experience.
Clubs and Activities There are plenty of Clubs and Activities available to all Clemson students. Clemson even has a website for any who are willing to browse them all - http://www.orgsync.com/
Great for these types of students Clemson is great for people who want to get involved in Greek Life, future Engineers/Architects/Science and Math related majors, and those willing to be a part of a tradition.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus There is a bucket list of Clemson that is fun for all students to complete and can be found here -http://www.clemsonwiki.com/wiki/Clemson_bucket_list
Bang for the buck Clemson has a pretty accurate cost for what the institution provides. When you go to Clemson, you become part of a glorious family-friendly atmosphere that stays with you. Not many Universities can say that. Also, scholarships aren't too hard to come by.
What to do for fun The rumors that there is nothing to do at Clemson are inaccurate. Emails are sent out every week for FREE, FUN things to do. You can even get FREE things such as t shirts and different Clemson related products.
Food and Dining I am a Vegetarian and honestly there aren't many options in Clemson Dining for Vegetarians/Vegans. They do however, provide numerous healthy options for all of those omnivores out there. I must say that Clemson House's cookies are absolutely marvelous.
Dorm Life Clemson Housing does a pretty accurate job of placing potential roomates together. In addition, hanging out with hall-mates is one of the funnest activities to do. My one hint of advice is to answer the potluck survey accurately. If you don't, you'll be very disappointed.
Academic Rigor The classes at Clemson are thorough and can be hard if you don't want to learn the material. My best advice would be to take classes you're interested in. If you study and want to learn the material, the grades will come.
Tips for prospective students Coming into any University, students should make a study schedule. It helps with time management and keeps grades up. If you aren't a partier, don't feel pulled into that kind of life. It really isn't for everyone and there are plenty of students that have fun without it.
In three sentences If you go to a high school in South Carolina and want in-state tuition, Clemson University is a definite must. The classes are fair, the professors want you to learn the material, and the people are friendly. This is definitely a University to consider applying to.

Great for these types of students All of them - everyone can find a place to fit in here. Seriously.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Solid Orange Friday, Rubbing Howard's rock, holding hands in President's Park....
Bang for the buck If you're in state, it's a steal - and I hear from some out-of-state friends that if you try hard enough, you can still get a very nice financial package .
What to do for fun EVERYTHING. http://www.clemson.edu/campus-life/campus-recreation/index.html
Food and Dining Let's see - we have three official campus dining facilities...but that doesn't include the Wendy's, Chick-Fil-A, Subway, Chili's, and other neat eateries here. Check out the PawPoints plan online - it's very convenient.
Dorm Life The RAs are truly caring, and the people get along very well! In fact, events for specific halls, communities, and buildings are always going on. Oh, and the dorms are well maintained - can't forget that!
Academic Rigor I'm in the Honors College, so I can definitely attest to the academic challenge one can find here. In end, a student is only as busy as he/she wants to be, but boy, if you want to be busy...
Tips for prospective students Start the application right away! Don't procrastinate (it affects your housing priority), and start looking into undergraduate research. Wherever you go, it's important and enriching to get started early.

Bang for the buck The experience alone is worth the money. And don't forget about FOOTBALL!!!
What to do for fun Bowman field!!! Downtown has many restaurants and bars. Clemson isn't far away from Greenville, Charlotte or Atlanta.
Food and Dining Freshman 15? More like freshman 30... We have dining halls as well as subway, pizza hut, papa john's,, wendy's... many more
Dorm Life The actual dorms aren't the best I've seen but the experience was great.
Academic Rigor Clemson's classes are manageable but definitely challenging.
Tips for prospective students Work hard, get to know as many people as you possibly can and seek out your interests.

Categories Comments Clubs and Activities There is a club for everything!
What to do for fun For fun, we have movie nights with people on the hall, or take a trip to the mall in Greenville or Anderson. There are ways to have clean fun, you just have to be smart about it.
Food and Dining The dining hall has a wide variety of food. They change the food choices every day so it doesn't get boring. As freshman, we have to get a meal plan. It isn't so bad since we aren't allowed to have cooking appliances other than a microwave in our dorm rooms.
Dorm Life Living in a dorm full of five hundred girls is probably not like most people would expect. The doors are always open so that you are able to meet new people. This allows you to have the opportunity to create friendships that will last a life time. You will never be bored or lonely. In the dorm I am in, we all share a community bathroom on our floor which gives each of us to bond, not only in the rooms, but in the hallways and bathrooms. There is not one day that passes by that a person doesn't say hey or hello to you. I have throughly enjoyed living on campus and close to everything.
Academic Rigor The amount of work for each class is a little more than a person would desire, but doing all the work offered by the professors allows for a successful college career. The professors want you to study hard, and if you study and do the work like you are supposed to, you will make good grades.
Tips for prospective students This campus is very secluded, but there is always something to do. It is more for the layback people that love nature and a beautiful country side rather than the big city life.
In three sentences Clemson has a beautiful campus. I have made lots of friends here. The professors are very knowledgable and are always willing to help out the students.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Clemson is tucked away in a rural suburb of the not-too-large city of Anderson. Campus police operate 24/7 and maintain constant vigilance over the campus and surrounding areas.
Greek Life I, personally, am a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity on campus. Ask about us, we're well known around campus and around the world. As for Greek life in general, over 30% of students here are involved in Greek Life.
Clubs and Activities There are over 400 clubs here at Clemson, including interests as diverse as mountain climbing, off-road vehicles,
Great for these types of students If you are looking to be an engineer or scientist, come here. The facilities are incredible, the professors are knowledgeable and helpful (and speak English quite well, I might add), and the students are all of a high caliber in their respective fields.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus In front of Tillman Hall, there is a copper statue of Thomas Green Clemson. On it are written words - I know not what words, exactly, because there is an old curse which says that whoever reads the plaque will not graduate. Many students read it on the way to graduation, as a sort of rite of passage for having survived and succeeded at Clemson.
Bang for the buck A Clemson education is a huge accomplishment with a surprisingly low cost. It has been rated in The Princeton Review's top 150 Best Colleges for at least three years and continues to remain on the cutting edge of science and engineering research in America.
What to do for fun Bowman Field in front of Tillman Hall, the clock tower and education building, has a huge (as in, multiple hundreds of square yards huge) grassy area open for anyone to do pretty much whatever they want. I've seen everything from football, soccer and volleyball (at the same time) to LARP (Live-Action Role Play) on that field. As mentioned before, there are also over 400 clubs to keep you busy as well as a heavy course load. Outside the university, there is Lake Hartwell (which the University actually is part of the shoreline for - did I mention that tidbit?) which is a fully functioning lake with fishing, boating of all kinds, and camping available.
Food and Dining There's variety, there's edible food, but at the end of the day, they are making food for thousands of kids. Learn the rush times and go around them; it leads to superior food quality and taste as well as a much more pleasant staff.
Dorm Life I lived in a dorm for my first two years of Clemson. Freshman year was my first real time away from home for any length of time and I made an unbelievable amount of friends
Academic Rigor Clemson has been a top-25 ranked school for several years running. As a Material Science and Engineering student, I can attest to the rigor of the programs here at Clemson.
Tips for prospective students 1) Go to class. Seriously. I know the hills are atrocious and the weather can't make its mind up, but if you don't go to class, you won't be going to Clemson very long. 2) Take classes that suit your normal routine. If you are a morning person, go for morning classes. Personally, I am quite the opposite, and do not have a single class before 11 AM. 3) Do what you love. If not, it's going to be a long four years full of disappointment and a potentially unhappy career. 4) If you even consider coming here, don't worry about T-shirts. Seriously, I got 14 shirts my freshman year. They were all orange. I loved it. 5) Be yourself. At Clemson, there is something for everyone - we have a huge Greek presence, intramural sports thrive, and there are over 400 clubs already in place, many for little to no cost of operation beyond equipment. 6) Finally, just learn to go with the flow. At Clemson, making friends is easy, and you'll find your comfortable niche relatively soon. From there, the horizons are only what you set them to be.
In three sentences Clemson make four years seem like four weeks - once you get here, you never want to leave. The culture here is bubbling over with enthusiasm for everything from the arts to zoology (and for once, that isn't a simplistic advertising platitude). As soon as you take that first step onto the campus, you will fall in love with the sheer beauty of the campus and the easy Carolina smiles that grace everyone's face.

Categories Comments Campus Safety I feel very safe on campus. It's well lit and there are always cops out. If you're feeling kinda sketched out though, then you can always call Tiger Transit, who will pick you up and take you to your destination. There are plenty of police boxes too.
Greek Life I'd say there's probably around a 1000 people affiliated in greek life? It's everywhere but you definitely DON'T have to join to make friends or feel complete
Clubs and Activities There's a bunch of clubs but sometimes they just don't ever meet or do anything. Also, sometimes the students just don't participate. Quidditch Tournament? Not enough people signed up! Come on..really Clemson students?
Great for these types of students Students who want to learn, to have a laid-back atmosphere, to live in a college town, love sports, interested in greek life, and want to make many friends.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus There's a super-secret book you can find and sign, burning Cocky before the Carolina game, The Tiger Rag, rubbing Howard's Rock, running down the hill, Mr. Knickerbockers, getting access to the roof of Clemson House, and many, many, more you will have to discover for yourself.
Bang for the buck Definitely worth your money if you want a great education on a beautiful campus.
What to do for fun There's always something going on: movies, talent shows, plays, operas, concerts, and sporting events. ClemsonLive and Tiger Paw Productions bring in really awesome entertainment.
Food and Dining Eh, food gets old after a while. You have to branch out and eat somewhere like Cookout or Zaxby's to keep sane. You WILL get sick of pizza. I promise.
Dorm Life I love living on campus in the Shoeboxes. It's really close to everything and I can see the football stadium from my window. Bonus: I can control the A/C in my dorm myself. : )
Academic Rigor My classes are pretty stressful/ rigorous. My high school did not prepare me at all for college or especially a place like Clemson. I realized that I didn't know how to study VERY quickly.
Tips for prospective students Your classes aren't going to be a walk in the park. If you choose Clemson House as your first pick in dorms, think about if walking up and down that hill multiple times a day to get to class is worth it or not. [Shoeboxes are where it's at ; ) ] I hope you like walking uphill both ways.

Clubs and Activities You just have to find them.
Great for these types of students Athletes, artists, traditional students
Bang for the buck It does cost a lot and some things don't seem to go toward the quality of education.
What to do for fun There are places to walk to downtown of the university. There are shows of dancing and acting that are held on campus. There are also a lot of football events that everyone enjoys.
Food and Dining There are plenty of places on campus to get food. There are even delivery available.
Dorm Life There were a lot of students accepted this year so I was put in an overflow room. However, they did move me into an apartment before the second semester. It's a good place to live but you don't really get the full freshman experience.
Academic Rigor The work is difficult but there are always people to help. You just have to make the effort.
Tips for prospective students My advice to any student considering this school is be prepared to work and have friendships that will last a lifetime. Apply early to the school to get priority in housing. Begin to look for scholarships as soon as possible. Transportation is a little difficult to look for after 5 but if you have a car you'll be good. Have a lot of orange and purple clothing for game days and orange Fridays which is every Friday. Join IPTAY for good football game tickets and discount for some restaurants around the school.

Great for these types of students Outgoing, fun, nice, smart, friendly, outdoorsy, dedicated, family-oriented
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus There are so many traditions at Clemson, in fact there is a whole bucket list for Clemson students. Just another thing I love about this school, it makes you feel like you are really a part of something.
Bang for the buck In-state practically go for free which is kind of frustrating because just as capable out-of-state kids pay much, much more. However, compared to many other schools, it is still at the lower end of the price range.
What to do for fun Football games, tailgates, hiking adventures, concerts, downtown life, trips to Greenville, days at the lake. I could carry on.
Food and Dining I've visited many other universities and I have to say Clemson's dining is pretty awesome in comparison. There are so many options that everyone can be satisfied. Seriously, I know a vegan who couldn't even complain.
Dorm Life I cried leaving freshman year. Living in a dorm, I think, really enhances the whole first year college experience. I've made some of my best friends living on my hall and wouldn't trade that experience in for the world.
Academic Rigor Clemson is as challenging as you make it. Sure some classes can be difficult, however, there are so many resources to help if needed; such as, SI tutors, the academic success center, workshops, and approachable teachers.
Tips for prospective students Remember that grades are important, but definitely don't forget to be active. College is about learning but it is also about experience. You're not going to like it anywhere, or make any friends, if you never leave your dorm and are studying all the time. And at Clemson there are so many opportunities to get involved, be it greek life, intramural sports, going to sporting events, etc., that it is impossible to get bored/ not like it here.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Over the course of 1 year, there was one mugging and no one was harmed and no property was even taken. The criminals here, if there are any, do not choose their life of crime wisely, as they are very bad at it.
Greek Life Dominant. Sometimes it seems like everyone here is Greek and they are very public about their events. Attendance at these events is incredibly exclusive.
Clubs and Activities There are always University run events on any given weekend and there are no shortage of student organizations. All you need to start a club is three people.
Great for these types of students People who like lots of people and not seeing the same people every day if you don't want to. Also there's a lot of white people here.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Monsoon Room, ask an upperclassman. Solid Orange Fridays, everyone wears orange on Fridays.
Bang for the buck In-state: yes, all the way. Out-of-State: Questionable, they charge you a lot for things that shouldn't really come with the $42,000 pricetag.
What to do for fun A lot of students like to drink. a lot. Some students choose not to drink at all, and while the town of Clemson doesn't have much to do, there's always something fun that the university sponsors going on.
Food and Dining The food is nothing special. I'm pretty sure Harcombe gave me food poisoning on two separate occasions though.
Dorm Life The dorms are nice and a bit cozy, but it's what you make of it. I've seen Cadillac dorms that are less comfortable than a well-equipped low-end dorm
Academic Rigor I'm an engineer so my courseload is a bit harder, but is manageable with ample studying.
Tips for prospective students The professors within the mathematical sciences department, with a few exceptions, are not the best by any means and offer little support outside of class. Also the lab TA's are mostly foreign.
In three sentences Clemson is a great school for most any major, but there isn't much diversity here. You'll find reliable and knowledgeable professors in most every department, but you might have to search for them depending on which department. If you liked the social dynamic of high school, you'll love Greek life; if you didn't, the GDI population is broad and vibrant.
