Don't procrastinate, and make sure you take the ACA 111 class as one of your first. This class can teach you the importance and lead you to focus on what degree you might want to pursue. Also it is a required class if you want to get a 2 year degree here so take it first (it is only a 1 hour course.

Make sure to educate yourself on all the rules and policies as well as opportunities that maybe given at CCCC. Be as proactive as possible or else you will miss out on many things, or may be tricked into a lot of things.

I would inform prospective students to take the ACA class during your first semester at CCCC. This class provides a lot of information about student finances and the college itself.

Make sure that you are prepared for college; this is NOT high school. Keep in touch with your instructors regarding absences or late assignments. Instructors are more apt to help those students who keep them informed over those who do not. Come prepared to spend the time necessary to fulfill the course requirements and do your homework.

Be aware of the opportunities that you can take advantage of. Some students don't know about Financial Aid, scholarships, or grants. Coastal provides information and assistance with every thing that you may need. They also have night classes, 8 week classes, and online classes. The unlimited resourced Coastal provides is extremely useful. I would suggest that incoming students to have a plan, set goals, and know what kind of courses you want to take. Be aware that credit hours are important, and you need a lot of them. You don't need to know your whole life plan straight out of the gate though, Coastal gives you a chance to figure yourself out academically, and for the future.
