For the most part, leisure time is spent hanging out with friends and, if a car is available, possibly the occasional trip to Iowa City. There are parties, which while generally unannounced occur frequently enough.

On weekends there are lots of parties and that sort of thing, but SAC (the student activities committee) provides lots of other sober options as well. There are concerts, and poetry readings, and pumpkin carvings, and t shirt dying, free bowling, and lots of other events all free to Coe students.

I am already enrolled into two different clubs/programs, And there is a week or Orientation with fun, random activities. I love it! There is always something to do and one can always hit the city for entertainment because I heard there's a lot to do out there too.
» Read MoreCedar Rapids has a bunch of bars and some decent clubs. For those who are underage or don't like drinking, there are a number of volunteer organizations as well as leisure organizations (e.g. cycling, bowling) in town. Political activism is also pretty strong.
