It is hard to wrap your head around the price of a private university when you are a young adult. Colgate's tuition is similar to other private liberal arts colleges.

Well, the mandatory meal plan for first years is entirely too expensive ($2,000+ each semester). Tuition is also very expensive when considering the classes we take. However when one gets into the social network that Colgate provides that can be developed through Career Services, it becomes a little bit more worth it. The activity fee ($140) is not too bad considering all of the events that go on at Colgate which are free! Movie nights, game nights, on campus radio, dances, parties, etc.

The classes are challenging but rewarding. The school has a lot of spirit and a great community. However, it is very expensive, and despite their efforts to have more late night activities and improve dining both areas could use work. But, I would recommend Colgate above any other school for those who want to go to a small liberal arts school

Colgate is one of the more expensive schools, but the experience, both academic and social, is special. Not only will you get a great education here and be prepared for a future career, you will meet your best friends and never want to leave. Ask any alumni you meet; every single one loves the school and will tell you that. They'll even be jealous that you might be starting your four years there!
