Given the broad options and flexibility the college provides, it requires that students are diligent in the class choices they make. You want to pick classes that are relevant to your ultimate goals. Make certain you research as many options as you can, but don't be afraid to try a few things before settling on a particular major and don't feel pressured to pick something right away. You can take a class at a time if you want, or you can approach learning the same way you would at a University. You want to eventually choose something that is a good fit for you and will give you the foundation for whatever may be your next step in your learning or career pursuits!

Join a club! Audition for musical groups or theatre, find a niche where you can meet people. It makes the experience so much better, so much more college-esque in the socializing sense.

All prospective students should go and explore the campus and sign up for orientation events and other events hosted by Student Life. These opportunities are for students to engage in their community and learn more about how to give back, while also building experience and skills for their future. In addition, the clubs and organizations on campus are where you will find some of the most down-to-earth, friendly, and engaging people within the college. These people are the ones who make college fun for everyone!

Experiment, take as many classes as you can, and take advantage of the great education at such a cheap rate. Also, do not be afraid to speak to your professors and create connections with them. The majority of College of DuPage classes are not lecture halls, they're around the size of a typical high school class and allow students time to talk and get extra help from professors which is not something that often happens at bigger universities.
