Great for these types of students

College of DuPage is a great idea if you are looking to save some money while getting your gen-eds. COD is an accredited college and their credits transfer just about anywhere. They also offer lots of courses that apply to your specific major, so you can get started working towards your degree right away! Check out their website for more information.

    Tips for prospective students

Be warned, admission, records, and financial aid offices are a MAD HOUSE here. Communication in the financial aid office is especially poor. You should maintain regular communication with these offices to ensure that your forms are being processed. If you don’t, you could end up like me. They lost my financial aid records, didn’t send my transfer transcripts, and never even set me up with a counselor. This is a great school to attend, but be proactive in keeping these offices on top of things with getting you all set up.

    Bang for the buck

If you are looking to save some money by attending a community college to transfer credit to a four-year university, this is the one. College of DuPage prepares you for success better than you’d ever expect a junior college to do. They offer a huge variety of courses to ensure you transfer to your university with courses that matter. The school has everything from writing to robotics, cooking to calculus, animation to architecture, and so much more. As far as community colleges go, College of DuPage DEFINES “bang for your buck.”

    Am enjoying being here

COD has just about everything you need for success in junior college. They have great facilities: plenty of computer labs (both PC and Mac), online databases, an extensive library, tutoring and academic assistance. There are lots of clubs and organizations you can get involved with too. Sadly they don’t have a film studies club (that’s my major), but there are plenty of extracurricular activities that will be both fun and look great on your resume. The commute is kind of a drag, and they don’t offer campus housing, but there are lots of apartment buildings and condominiums close by that house lots of students.

    Am learning a lot

This college has surprisingly good academics. I wasn’t expecting much from a junior college, but COD really delivers. They offer a wide variety of courses and a high quality curriculum. The professors are competent and helpful. I have heard of some people having bad experiences, but for the most part I have had good luck with teachers in the year that I have been attending here.

Great for these types of students

Motivated people wishing to save money, confused people trying to figure out what to study, students who perhaps don't have a high school diploma who have their GED and want to get a college education, non-traditional students, adult students looking to go back to school...just about anyone looking for an education for a good price!

    Tips for prospective students

Don't slack off. It's very easy to get caught up in not caring about education if it's not that expensive, but the costs will eventually add up. Don't expect a nice and friendly student body, because there are too many people to form a copious amount of friendships. Also, don't be afraid to try something new, as this would be the place to discover some things about what you enjoy in your education than in an expensive four-year school.

    Bang for the buck

This is where COD really shines. Even with modest tuition hikes, the school is still affordable. I have gotten through the first two years of my BA with virtually no debt. This is one of the top accredited community colleges in the country, and the price makes it a great choice to figure out what you want to study and what you enjoy.

    Am enjoying being here

I enjoy the fact that I am saving money. Due to the large student body, it's often hard to make new friends or feel a sense of student body cohesion. It's a commuter campus, so you don't have the opportunity of meeting people through living accommodations. They are currently renovating the campus, as well, so there is a lot of construction and noise during the day.

    Am learning a lot

There are some really good teachers, but then there are those who really aren't the best. I've had classes in which I felt challenged, engaged, and really enjoyed it, but I've also been in one or two where the teacher teaches straight from the book, could really care less, and makes it very unenjoyable. But for the money, it's not bad.

    Campus Safety

campus safety is awesome because they are always on duty. if you are staying late at night and would like an escort to your car they are more than happy to help you out. also, my favorite aspect about our campus safety is that they will text, call, and email you if there is ever a situation on campus including instances where weather interferes with classes.

    Greek Life

there is no dorm greek life on campus, but there is a very prestigious academic group called phi theta kappa that ensures transfer scholarships.

    Clubs and Activities

there seems to be an infinite number of clubs and activities that you can become involved with on campus. if you go to the student life center/ lounge, you can easily receive information on any club or create your own. there is everything from academic study groups, to computers and gaming, to anime, to medical, to religious, as well as special interests groups.

Great for these types of students

all types of students succeed at cod because of the great resources and professors that care about their students. we have students who are still in high school take classes here, traditional students, as well as adults who are choosing to continue their education. it is a very diverse and welcoming environment.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

cod has really transformed over the years with its enormous growth and updating. interesting spots on campus include the brand new homeland security building as well as the brand new hospitality and culinary arts building where we have a state of the art chocolatier program, a working hotel, a bar, and a restaurant all run by students!! only a couple buildings over is a mock hospital in the new health and science building.

    Bang for the buck

after two years of attending college of dupage full time, i have earned my associates degree for under $6500 (including summer courses). cod is great about financial aid as well as scholarships that are not necessarily need based. attending cod was the best decision i've ever made!!

    What to do for fun

there is always something fun to do around campus, both academically or socially. the student lounge has flat screen tv's, computers stations, a cafe, and pool tables. other spots around campus are always hosting student fairs, transfer college booths, or live student performances.

    Food and Dining

cod has more (and better) on campus food and dining options than even the largest universities in illinois. nearly every building has a food stop and has everything from subway, to panda express, to einstein's, as well as two cafeterias! also, cod literally just opened a brand new culinary arts building with a restaurant and bar.

    Dorm Life

there are no dorms on campus but just recently cod's president, dr. brueder, has announced a plan for on campus living in the future.

    Academic Rigor

if you think you don't have to take your classes seriously just because it is a community college, think again! the reason the cod has such a great reputation is because of the high standard it puts on actually earning your grade. the good thing is, about 95% of your classes are transferable so you don't have to repeat them elsewhere.

    Tips for prospective students

prospective students should arrive on campus at least a half an hour earlier than their first class during the first few weeks of a new semester. parking is notoriously crowded (because this school is awesome) but you can avoid the hassle by purchasing a $75/semester parking pass that allows you to park in the best spots.

    In three sentences

college of dupage has been the most amazing experience and has opened so many more doors for me than i ever thought possible from a community college. the tuition is affordable and 100% of the classes are taught by knowledgeable professors with small class sizes. don't underestimate the power of this institute; not only does it ensure that about 95% of your classes are transferable, it is a great place to be!

    Campus Safety

The College of DuPage offers great campus safety that makes everyone feel much more comfortable and secure in their college environment. On top of having well lit streets, side walks, and buildings the college still manages to have plenty of street posts with emergency buttons and furthermore to provide the campus streets with more than enough College of DuPage Police.

    Clubs and Activities

With the various ethnic, intellectual, and talent filled backgrounds of the students at COD, the clubs and activities offered are nearly endless.

Great for these types of students

One of the greatest parts about the College of DuPage is that it really is for students of all types. I can almost guarantee that there is not a single student that feels out of place, being that we have students of all ages coming from all different parts of the world. The only thing that most students have in common is their practicality in choosing a school that is saving them money, while giving them the educational perks that they will need in order to do well.

    Bang for the buck

Overall the College of DuPage is nothing short of a financial dream. You get an award winning education while not having to put too big of a hole in your wallet. When all is said and done you really get so much more than what you are paying for.

    What to do for fun

College of DuPage isn't exactly your Dave and Busters, but there is plenty to do during off time. With the state of the art facilities that the college offers there are always clubs, teams, and other extra curricular activities to join. On top of this you can always make use of its beautiful fitness facilities and resourceful library.

    Food and Dining

The College of DuPage offers not only good food but also quite the variety. You can have anything from a nice healthy meal, to a quick muffin and a cup of Starbucks coffee.

    Academic Rigor

It is very clear to me over the last few semesters that the College of DuPage really takes its time when hiring candidates for employment based on the challenging professors that i have had the pleasure of interacting with.

    Tips for prospective students

When attending the College of DuPage it is important to inherit the personality trait of self-motivation. It is easy to be distracted, being that many would describe community college as your typical second half of high school, but when looking upon your situation from a long term perspective it is quite actually an amazing educational path to success. In other words, don't get caught up looking back at the people that you are racing, instead look forward and work hard in order to achieve your future goals.

    In three sentences

College of DuPage is a unique school in the sense that it offers students of all backgrounds the opportunity to save money, while receiving a top notch education that they can take with them for the rest of their lives. Just when you thought that the option of going to the College of DuPage couldn't get any better, you realize the endless choices of programs and educational paths that this institution has to offer. I would rate the College of DuPage exceptionally because it is a school of opportunity.

    Bang for the buck

i feel that some of the science teachers could have went into more detail on some subjects instead of trying to make it easier for students that aren't planning on majoring in that field. otherwise, it's very affordable.

i commuted to the school from a town 30 minutes away, so i'm not sure what there is to do nearby.

    Food and Dining

lots of places around campus at good prices

    Dorm Life

    Academic Rigor

general education classes can be pretty easy. I wouldn't say that every class is an 'easy A' but depending on the teacher, you can really boost your GPA with some of these. The math department can be pretty though. The classes can require a lot of time, and it is difficult to find a professor who teaches really well, there are some out there that are good though.

    Tips for prospective students

It is really easy to not take it seriously. Community colleges get a bad reputation in a lot of the towns in the area, so if you work hard and focus on your classes, you really will learn a lot. Some of the teachers aren't the best, while others know their fields really well, and really care about their students. Find places to study on campus that allow you to get the most out of your precious time, and that will help you succeed.

    In three sentences

Ok, I won't lie, there are some weirdos here however they are all the harmless nerdy type not the I'll stalk you and follow you to your car type. One of the cool locations that I don't think many students are aware of is the prairie path.

    Bang for the buck

The classes are well worth the money! For instance I am taking a 4 credit hour summer course there that will cost me about $550 however that same class at a local university would cost me about $2100!

    What to do for fun

There are plenty of clubs and activities the school offers. Along with that it is close to many shops and towns that you could spend hours walking around. In the lounge there are plenty of activities for students to do. There is also a prairie that you can walk around on on campus if you are more of the outdoorsy type.

    What to do for fun

Seeing as I have a one-year-old daughter I do not get to hang around campus or get involved in clubs, but there's definitely a lot activities to choose from. Flyers are posted almost daily on the bulletin boards, for events and clubs, so that would be a good place to start looking.

    Food and Dining

The food and dining is pretty good, but there's not a ton to choose from, and the prices are kind of high (the cafeteria has a Subway and a Panda Express, and there's a Starbucks in the Student Resource Center). Also, you may have trouble finding a place to sit in the cafeteria depending on the time of day/how busy it is.

    Dorm Life

There are no dorms on COD's campus (although I've read in the student newspaper that adding dorms is being discussed). The campus is beautiful! A lot of the buildings have been renovated (within the past 2 or 3 years), several new buildings have been added, and the library and MAC building (center for the arts) are being redone right now. I've even taken a course in a smart classroom (tons of huge, brand-new Mac computers). Overall, COD has a very modern, cutting edge feel to it (far more than ISU did).

    Academic Rigor

Academic rigor varies between class level and the professor. The workload isn't necessarily light, but the material is fairly easy to grasp (I have a 4.0). If you do need more of a challenge, however, COD does have an honors program.

    Tips for prospective students

See a counselor to help you register for classes and get you set up with blackboard and myaccess (you can also register for classes online, without assistance once you have the system figured out). Fill out a FAFSA as soon as you can to see if you qualify for grants and loans. Also, skip the bookstore and rent your textbooks (or buy cheap ones) online. You'll save hundreds.

    In three sentences

Enrolling at College of DuPage was one of the best decisions I have made in regard to my education. I save thousands of dollars every semester for the same educational experience I would get at a large university (I attended ISU for a semester, as a comparison). Also, the classes are pretty small, so not only do you get more conversation going, but you get to know your classmates and the professors better, and vice versa.

    Campus Safety

The campus is pretty safe. There are campus cops, but they mainly walk around and don't bother students. There are homeless people that stay downstairs in the SRC, but they keep to themselves and never talk to students. They sit in the corner just to get warmth and students don't bother them either; we feel sorry for them and want to respect their privacy.

    Greek Life

There is no Greek Life since it's a commuter school, but if you make friends you can always party with them off-campus!

    Clubs and Activities

Phi Theta Kappa is the honor society for two-year schools and if a student meets the requirements, it's a good idea to join. There is a membership fee, but most four-year schools will give you scholarships for being a PTK member. You just have to fill out the application and pay the fee; meetings are optional!

Great for these types of students

College of DuPage is great for all kinds of students. Some people are just there to fool around and aren't serious about college yet, which works since it's so cheap. Other people are serious about their studies and plan on transferring, while some are still figuring out what they want to do. It's a great transitional school.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

There are vents right outside the main entrance to the SRC building that are great to stand over in winter. They release a lot of heat and were a popular spot when smoking was still allowed on campus.

    Bang for the buck

Classes are cheap compared to other schools, especially for the quality of the education given. College of DuPage is a great bargain.

    What to do for fun

Again, it's up to the students to find fun activities. Several times a semester clubs will have booths advertising what they're about and information can always be found on the website. If you want to get involved, you definitely can, but there is no pressure to do so.

    Food and Dining

The cafeteria is large, nicely furnished and has plenty of options for students. There is a Subway, a Panda Express and other appealing options for student's to choose from. Even if you're vegetarian, you can usually find bagels, fruit cups or other meatless options.

    Dorm Life

It's a commuter school, so there are no official dorms. There are some off campus apartments for students who want to live close by, you just have to look. The school is close to many suburbs, so it's easy for students to live at home and either take the bus or drive to school.

    Academic Rigor

The academics are what you make of it. There are very easy classes and very challenging ones; it all depends on which ones you choose to take and which professor you have. Definitely visit ratemyprofessor.com or ask fellow students and your counselors for advice!

    Tips for prospective students

Check the website or ask professors to learn about the difference services COD offers. Ask them if there's free tutoring available or visit the library to get a free library card and advice from the staff. The counselors will help you choose classes, decide on a major, or help with any personal issues as well.

    In three sentences

College of DuPage is a large commuter school that has many great learning opportunities. There are great teachers, flexible class times and free tutoring for Math, Accounting and other subjects. It's up to students to find out about these opportunities though and take advantage of them.

    Bang for the buck

As I am writing this, the cost is $136 per credit hour. Along with some fees for classes, that sums up to ~$1500 for a 12 credit hour student. Pretty cheap. However, this might not guarantee quality professors.

    Academic Rigor

Be warned that even though it is a community college and may somewhat be similar to high school, that the courses are as easy as high school courses. The difficulty of the course also depends on the plans of the professors.

On site police station and roaming officers. Very tight security.

    Bang for the buck

By obtaining your associates degree through College of DuPage, you can transfer to Benedictine University and obtain your bachelors degree. The classes would still be held at the College of DuPage campus, but with Benedictine professors. The real steal is getting a bachelors degree for under $20, 000. And it is a respected school.

    What to do for fun

Meeting people is way too easy and the clubs are very active. Very close to a major shopping center and downtown area.

    Food and Dining

For a community college, the restaurant and food service availability is awesome. Starbucks, Einstein Bagels, Subway, a specialty grill and salad bar.

    Dorm Life

There are no dormitories, therefore no dorm life.

    Academic Rigor

While most of the classes are obviously rigorous, others are unclear. If you want to succeed and do well, its really up to you. Not every teacher will give you guidelines or helpful notes. So it is up to you to do the extra research, homework and utilize the peer tutoring/ teacher tutoring centers.

    Tips for prospective students

Know a teacher's background before signing up for their class. Most of the professors (90%) are on ratemyprofessor.com with really helpful opinions from other students. If you don't like a class, drop it. You will not be happy if you do not get anything out of the course. Parking is terrible and will always be terrible. Utilize public transportation or carpooling if at all possible.

    In three sentences

This college is convenient and helpful. The wide variety of courses and majors offered are amazing and the backgrounds of some of the professors are so diverse. While some classes are better than others, it is still important to remember COD is a community college (but one of the highest ranking in the US).

They have a police station on campus, so you're generally safe. It's still probably not advisable to be by yourself around the campus at the later hours, however, and you should never under any circumstances leave your belongings alone for any amount of time longer than a couple of seconds. Even in that case, leaving valuables such as cellphones and laptops and jewelry out of sight may result in you instantly having them stolen. This is true at any public location however, so it is unfair to give it a lower score. It is also advisable to be cautious in the parking lots, as the drivers tend to not pay much attention to what they're doing, unfortunately, and tend to occasionally be aggressive towards pedestrians at the intersection leading to the TEC.

    Greek Life

There are no sororities or fraternities at this college.

    Clubs and Activities

I have not been able to participate in any of the clubs, unfortunately, but whenever I see the clubs meeting the members seem to truly love what it is the club is for, and you can see all sorts of students in them, both introverts and extroverts.

Great for these types of students

CoD is a good place for all students, and students fresh out of high school may find it a good place to become accustomed to the differences between high school and college. It has a good ethnic diversity as well, and you'll probably hear many different languages here. It mostly has small classes, but lecture hall classes are available as well for those who might prefer that type of class. Online classes are available as well in most areas for students who want to study at home. The school has a wide variety of study abroad classes as well for those who wish to travel and study abroad.

    Bang for the buck

CoD is a great school with affordable classes and study abroad programs much more affordable than those of universities. (Think $4,000 compared to $10,000.) Tuition varies on which and how many classes you take, but the classes are set up to help you do your best and to teach you accurate information in whichever field its in. As an update, I'd like to share that this past Spring I was able to enroll in a study abroad class in Japan over spring break! The cost was only about $2700 or so, and we were able to make scheduled payments instead of paying all at one time. We went around the cultural capital, Kyoto, learning about the history and culture of the country while being guided by a professor who grew up there. It was fascinating! For the price paid, we visited many important cultural places in Japan and had a very unique and amazing experience!

    What to do for fun

The campus almost always has an event going on somewhere, and has special events at the start of Fall semester to welcome new students. Most school events are hosted by Alter Ego, though there are many other events not hosted by them. They have a party during Halloween which I've heard is pretty fun, and cheap to get into. In addition, the school as many clubs for students to join, and students are more than welcome to create their own club as long as they get a minimum number of students willing to attend it before applying for its official status, and I think an instructor to supervise it. Besides clubs, the Main Campus has its Student Life lounge, where may students hang out to watch TV, socialize, play trading card games, play instruments, and generally have fun. The pool table room and video game lounge is also located here, but cost a fee to get the equipment to play. If you split the cost with your friends, however, it's very cheap.

    Food and Dining

There are many areas to eat at the Main Campus. The MAC has an Einstein's Bagels. The SRC has the E.E. Gibson cafeteria with Sodexho as the main food provider. Sodexho generally does a great job with the cafeteria food. They also occasionally have outside food places, such as the Subway that's currently there. They have a fairly nice vegetarian selection, and a friendly staff. They also have a wide variety of drinks and chips, and a thermos you can purchase which lets you have free refills of any fountain beverage (including coffee, tea, and hot chocolate). Next to the coffee and soda fountains there is also a milkshake/smoothie machines, or you can get smoothies from Cyclone Salads. All the way over in the K building, there's a Pal Joey's Cafe which has amicable and friendly staff, tax already in the price, and a changing special everyday that has a wider range than the E.E. Gibson cafeteria, though weekly specials have recently begun to be offered at The Grill and Cyclone Salads. Pal Joey's and E.E. Gibson are roughly around the same in price, though the new Wholly Habanero could definitely stand to make its menu a combo menu at its prices. Pal Joey's also has a salad bar in case you want to make your own salad instead of buying from a set menu or a pre-made one in E.E. Gibson. They only accept cash however, so save your cards for E.E. Gibson and Einstein's. The campus also has its own fine restaurant, staffed by the school's culinary students in order to give them more experience in the culinary field. It requires formal attire and I believe reservations, and is kind of pricey I've heard, but is supposed to have pretty good food. The Culinary and Hospitality building also has a small cafe which sells foods made by the culinary students. I haven't tried them, but they definitely look delicious. Lastly, it has many vending machines across the campus, including those that sell ramen and mac'n'cheese cups and assorted sandwiches, such as the double pork chop sandwich and Italian beef sandwiches. Microwaves are also located around these machines.

    Dorm Life

There are currently no dorms here, though the school has been looking at the apartment complex across from its main campus as a potential dorm area, I have heard.

    Academic Rigor

It really varies by class and teacher. Some classes will be much more work than others, some teachers will grade differently than others... It's worth it to look into particular classes ahead of time if you're concerned with class difficulty. So long as you try hard and put in effort, however, you should be just fine in most cases, For those in need of special services, this school has an incredible range of such services--way more in fact than almost every US university and many other community colleges.

    Tips for prospective students

Explore the campus in between classes, join clubs, and make sure you talk with a counselor at the very least once to help you figure out a good path to take while at college. Also, don't take classes you have no interest in just to fill degree requirements. Of course there are instances where you have to take a class, such as Speech or Math, but there are way more options to choose from in most other credit requirements, so take some time and look into the classes that are offered.

    In three sentences

This is an excellent community college to attend before transferring to a four-year university. It has a wide variety of classes, helpful counselors, good teachers, and offers many opportunities--including more affordable study abroad programs in a wide array of fields. The food's pretty great too!

Most of my classes haven't been bad at all. Homework can be completed without too much of a struggle and the topics discussed weren't hard to grasp but it never just an easy class.

If you can't pay in full, definitely go for the payment plans with NO INTEREST! Very much worth it and a great feeling of not being in debt. NEVER buy books from the bookstore. Chegg or amazon are other great resources.

I was able to get an incredible first year of education for around $4500 as opposed to the $20,000 I would have spent for my first year at Columbia College in Chicago. I can't even imagine some of the other differences in price for other universities. The amount of classes available with a high quality education for such a low price is amazing.

    What to do for fun

The clubs are always great fun, but there are also numerous arts shows available in the McAnich Arts Center.

    Food and Dining

Great food available at good prices, including my favorites: Starbucks and Einstein Bagels.

    Dorm Life

There is not a huge community here of students like at bigger universities purely because there is not any on-campus housing. However, with the amount of clubs and extracurricular activities available, life on campus is very fun.

    Academic Rigor

More often than not, you will see someone studying in the lounges and concentrating in class. Everyone I've encountered during my time at the College of DuPage has sincerely enjoyed learning and the classes that they decided to take.

    Tips for prospective students

Experiment, take as many classes as you can, and take advantage of the great education at such a cheap rate. Also, do not be afraid to speak to your professors and create connections with them. The majority of College of DuPage classes are not lecture halls, they're around the size of a typical high school class and allow students time to talk and get extra help from professors which is not something that often happens at bigger universities.

The college is diverse, full of life, and not what you would expect from a community college. There is a wide variety of courses available for students of all kinds, those who like hands on learning or book learning, or even a combination of both. Security at COD is awesome. In addition to the police department that coordinates with the student workers (who are also security), they always make sure everyone is safe. As a student, I have never felt afraid or threatened in the college, and I have only witnessed and heard of one fight between a few students, luckily nobody was hurt and security was able to stop the fighting.

    Greek Life

Unfortunately there is no Greek Life since it is a community college.

    Clubs and Activities

This is my favorite part. I started out at COD not knowing what I wanted to do. However, I took advantage of the opportunities that were open and available to me and all of the other students. I've worked with the Career Services department, Counseling department, library, Honors society (I am currently the President!!), Leadership groups, Pride clubs, movie groups and so many more. All of the clubs on campus are really cool. As I said before, I have worked with a ton of them. Each and every one of them are filled with such an amazing crowd of like-minded students that are here for a reason. This reason is to gain lifelong skills and experiences for their future in a 4-year university and gain a few friends along the way. For all the new students going to College of DuPage, this is where I shined, and so can you!

Great for these types of students

Undecided Students, students getting back into the school scene, students not willing to spend so much on college.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

The Student Lounge is often a place for kids to hangout and dance to music, perform songs, or play video games. A tradition that many of the students like to do on Wednesdays is line up by the Student Life center around 11a.m. because at around noon, they give out free popcorn and sometimes free merchandise! The library has some of the most comfortable study rooms in all of campus. Although many students do study in there, it is also a well-known place to take a nap in a quiet room and nobody will care.

    What to do for fun

At COD, there is fun everywhere. From the student lounge that is home to Alter Ego Productions putting on live bands and free foods, to the MAC theatre hosting a large menagerie of artists like Colbie Caillat and the Cherry Poppin' Daddies. At the Student Life office, they plan a ton of free and fun things for students to do. From free popcorn events, to outdoor movie nights, and scavenger hunts, COD offers tons of things for people to do.

    Food and Dining

There is a decent selection of food on campus. The cafeteria has Chik-fil-a, a Wholley Habanero, and some other smaller choices like a smoothie machine, coffee, salads and other things to fill you up. In another part of the campus, a Starbucks and a Einstein Bagels are the in the Theatre and Main Campus areas. If you don;t like any of these, Chipotle, Jimmy Johns, Jet's Pizza, and many other local food joints are a few blocks away! The best foods in the area are especially the smaller mom and pop shops that can consist of Greek, Mexican, Polish, an Italian and are reasonably priced for a quick bite to eat or for a date night.

    Dorm Life

Unfortunately, College of DuPage is a community college and does not have dorms. However, the clubs and organizations offices' are places for students to meet and engage with active students.

    Academic Rigor

For academics, the rigor depends on the professors and courses you will take. All Gen-Ed courses are fairly simple however in order to do will with all classes, you should study! There are plenty of resources for students to study and get assistance as well! The library is the best place to get research done. Study rooms, plenty of computers and open space to read and research are available. Don't forget to ask to the librarians if you need any help on getting research for a topic and about sourcing your work, they are very valuable assets and will be happy to help! There is also a Student assistance center which can help students in a broad group of topics from Math and Science, to speeches and using Microsoft Office. The tutors and math professionals are all very helpful and very accommodating for new students.

    Tips for prospective students

All prospective students should go and explore the campus and sign up for orientation events and other events hosted by Student Life. These opportunities are for students to engage in their community and learn more about how to give back, while also building experience and skills for their future. In addition, the clubs and organizations on campus are where you will find some of the most down-to-earth, friendly, and engaging people within the college. These people are the ones who make college fun for everyone!

    In three sentences

College of DuPage is an amazing center for students to explore their potential for their future. The staff, administration, professors, and other positive students reflect this image for the new students and the community.
