    At college of Micronesia, some of its academic standards are almost the same as the community colleges in the U.S

    Tips for prospective students

    As Micronesian, I recommend that you start your college or post secondary education at College of Micronesia before you go to the U.S. For those American, if you interested in learning new things especially culture related activities, come to COM-FSM.

    College of Micronesia ranks the third in all of the colleges in Micronesia along with University of Guam and College of Marshall islands.College of Micronesia is unique for its diverse ethnic groups in the national campus. Also, College of Micronesia is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.

    Campus Safety

    The campus has trained security guards and cameras throughout the campus. they have maintenance, fire extinguishers, a clinic and much more!

    Clubs and Activities

    there are Peer advising clubs, SBO Officers and lots more!

    Great for these types of students

    Loners, hardworking students, wheelchair students, quiet students and competitive students.

    There are 5 campuses located throughout the four main islands of Micronesia. One in Yap (Yap Campus), Kosrea (Kosrea Campus), Chuuck (Chuuck Campus) and two in Pohnpei (Pohnpei Campus and National Campus). National campus is located 30 minutes away from Pohnpei campus in the mountains of Palikir whereas Pohnpei camp is located in the center of Kolonia Town.

    What to do for fun

    field trips, basketball, volleyball, Dennis (Ping Pong), pool, soccer, track and fields, fun walks, club picnics, student activities such as Halloween hunted house, welcome parties, farewell parties and many more.

    Food and Dining

    They have great foods and a clean cafeteria. Most of the foods are greasy and there are lots of delicious local foods. They keep the same menu every week for a year so it can get a little boring and outdated.

    Dorm Life

    Dorm life is always stress free. They have no chores, except for their laundry and lots of free times. they have fun activities that's planned out for weekends and holidays, they are optional of course. the gym, cafeteria and library is open for them at certain times, but the showers are not so clean and not so well. Other that, dorm life is stress free and can be fun!

    Academic Rigor

    The COM student works really hard and learns a lot. They work hard for projects, studies, assignment and activities. The students learns a lot from their hard works and student activities.

    Tips for prospective students

    The courses may seems easy but don't let that fool you, you need to work hard to achieve your desired results because you won't get what you don't work for.

    COM National Campus is a clean and quiet camp. They have helpful staff and highly educated instructors. 100% of the students there are using pell grant to pay for college and they also offer scholarships.
