Around Town

The Worcester community though at a first glance there not much to see has many good restaurants, and places where you can have fun.

There are excursions to Boston, Providence and downtown regularly but there are other things to sign up for too. Entertainment comes to the campus too.

Lots of activities available on campus! But if you ever want to leave, there are shuttles that take you to Worcester and Blackstone Valley shops. There are also shuttles on the weekend that can take to into Boston which is always fun. Mainly, I stay on campus and meet new people.

There are always things to do on campus. On weekends there are comedy shows, movies, the Edge dance, and other events for freshmen sponsored by the Students for Responsible Choices. In addition there are weekend shuttles to nearby locations as well as into Boston and Providence. Whether you want to stay on campus or go off campus there is something to do and a means to get there.

We have a club called CAB (Campus Activities Board), that creates the fun stuff that students can be part of for the year. From six flag trips, movie nights, comedian nights, the pub on campus, our Spring Concert and Spring Weekend (By the way insane and awesome weekend!) [although in the past two years police have been annoying and cracking down on off campus parties, the ones at houses because other people live in the neighborhood too and the houses have been so loud in recent years]. Also there is a nightlife in Worcester where alot of student go out on Thursdays and Fridays usually. The dorm parties are fun and depending on preference, the house parties off campus can be more fun but the police have been very serious about stopping it which really sucks. One saying at Holy Cross is that we students work hard during the week, and party even harder during the weekends.

Holy Cross does a phenomenal job providing recreational activities on campus (comedy shows, on-campus club and pub, recreational center) and well as providing transportation to shopping centers and Boston. Party life is also very big on campus, so you will never be out of options for fun on the weekends.

Each weekend, the College Activities Board (CAB) provides plenty of different activities as an alternative to the typical college weekend that everyone imagines. The college also provides transportation to Boston, Providence and various malls in Worcester, Auburn and Natick. There is plenty to do around campus as well as in the surrounding towns. There are plenty of academic and recreational clubs to partake in and AMAZING hills for sledding in the very snowy winters.
