They have a rock climbing wall and a lot of clubs. Being in Golden Colorado, they aren't far from camping sites and skiing mountains. There is a huge opprutunity to go outside.

Movies on Friday, sporting teams, and study groups

Hike South Table, Humans vs. Zombies, Friday Pre Release Movies, Free Pour Friday, etc.

Sporting events go on almost every weekend to get students to go out and support their fellow classmates. There are also many Intramural teams to join and make and tons of clubs for you to join and get involved in.

Denver is 10-15 miles away to the east and the Rocky Mountains are to the west. After a day of skiing, hiking or biking, you can enjoy a city activity at night.

The Student Recreation Center offers a workout room, two basketball courts, a climbing wall, a pool, a hot tub, too many recreation rooms, and a Subway. There are many skateparks in the Denver-metro area. Everyone plays video games here, so you can always find something to play. Also CSM offers team, club, and intramural sports. Its a great way to get out and do something if you have the time. There is also an Outdoor Recreation Center dedicated to satisfying everyones wilderness/adventuring/exploring needs. Weekend trips are common here as the ORC rents out all of your camping gear needs.

There are plenty of sports and IM teams, but a lot of people spend time playing video games or going out to drink. This town is famous for the Coors factory and our school song is even about drinking. The things I do in my freetime are: slacklining, video games, anime club, FIJI (fraternity), and Pathfinder. Being in a fraternity grants me a lot of opportunities to do way more than I would otherwise, like IM sports and volunteering.

So many clubs and organizations - the most in the state of Colorado! Plus there's Clear Creek right down the road for rafting and tubing. And so much physical activity to participate in in the mountains, like biking, skiing, or rock climbing.

Golden is right up against the foothills, so hiking just about anywhere is fun. Clear Creek runs through the town and you can tube down it, although I don't suggest it. I have lived in Golden all my life and I have seen what people do in the Creek. Plus cadmium deposits from old mines upstream sometimes run off into it.
