It is a great idea to get involved in all that is available at Colorado State, if its getting an on-campus job, joining an intermural team, a fraternity or sorority or club do something. Also always go to class. Professors do notice if you are or are not there and they are more willing to help you out come the end of semester if your grade is close.

My tips for prospective students are to take the time to discuss with advisors even if you want to go in undeclared, they know a lot about the classes needed to take and when to take them ensuring you can graduate with minimal amount of years. Another tip would be to look at how the University, clubs, and even your school (based on what your major is) can and will help you to pursue a career after you graduate. Is there something that you can participate in that will allow you to get a foot in the door? A third tip is to get your work done ahead of time; if you start early getting assignments, projects, and even papers started and better yet done it will help you tremendously in stress and time as well as give you the opportunity to look through your work and get help when necessary. Your first semester is your most important because it is a lot harder to get your GPA up later due to credits, and taking more classes will not necessarily help you unless you get A's or B's in that course.
