It is a great idea to get involved in all that is available at Colorado State, if its getting an on-campus job, joining an intermural team, a fraternity or sorority or club do something. Also always go to class. Professors do notice if you are or are not there and they are more willing to help you out come the end of semester if your grade is close.

A third tip is to get your work done ahead of time; if you start early getting assignments, projects, and even papers started and better yet done it will help you tremendously in stress and time as well as give you the opportunity to look through your work and get help when necessary. Your first semester is your most important because it is a lot harder to get your GPA up later due to credits, and taking more classes will not necessarily help you unless you get A's or B's in that course.
