Around Town

This city is packed with life and fun loving individuals. The night life is nonstop everywhere you go, and the people are friendly and accommodating. The biggest scenes are perhaps the theater and comedy scenes.

Explore the city! Attend any of the free readings from visiting authors or students, often there are several a week. Check out free screenings, festivals, and other activities hosted by the school.

Columbia lets its students enter programs besides their major as electives. A student can work on a wide variety of mediums to put their potential to its fullest use.

ANYTHING! You are in CHICAGO! See a show, go on a sight-seeing tour, explore the city, try new restaurants, go to industry events - anything is possible and everything is accessible.

Anything in the city! Jump on the red line or blue line and go anywhere in the city within minutes from where you are and enjoy the city life!

There are at least 700 concerts and recitals and art galleries/exhibitions and plays, etc s year JUST at Columbia. Not mentioning the fact that all US artists and performers stop in Chicago to perform and there are sports games to attend (I'm a Bulls fan). And there's the Navy Pier and Lake Michigan and so much more.

There are no sports and no parties. Sometimes they show movies and sometimes they have performances at the school. There are a bunch of broadway theaters around, that will give students discounts. Sometimes, there are shows with big artists around, but no where near the school. Other than that, there is just shopping.

Its Chicago, what cant you do for fun? There are tons of on campus clubs, not to mention the nightlife clubs, free art shows, free galas, free concerts, free movie screenings, free ice skating in the winter, etc. We like free.

Museums, art galleries, concerts and just being in the city makes for lots to do for fun. Just hanging out at the dorm or the University center with friends.
