The South loop is one of the most adventurous places ever. Even going for a simple walk is fun. Navy Pier, multiple museums, Grant Park, House of blues, Michigan Ave, lots of cute bakeries are all within a walking distance, or a short bus ride.

It's Chicago. Go to the Art Institute, Museum of Contemporary Art, Museum of Contemporary Photography, do touristy things like go visit the Bean, lay out in millenium park, go ice skating, go to Wicker Park (Milwaukee Ave area is super cool), go to the beach, tons of shopping on State Street and Michigan Avenue.

Many students can attend student events, nearby music venues, comedy shows, concerts, etc. There is always something to do at Columbia. Get out of your dorm room and meet new people, because you might end up bored if you get lazy!

Clubs and organizations is one of the things you can do to be involved in school and also they have many fun activities. Also, around the school there are many places where you can go with your friend to have fun. For example in front of one of the buildings of Columbia there is the Grand park where you can hang out with your friends.

Columbia hosts events all the time and the best part is that these events are major specific. Also, the school is in Chicago! Just go on the Internet and search for things to do, there are museums which most of specific days were you can get in for free, plenty of parks that host activities all of the time, there is Navy Pier. There is just too much to even list, and as a full time student, an unlimited U-pass is given to use for the Fall and Spring semesters so it is just a matter of learning the public transportation system.
