Categories Comments Great for these types of students If you are adventuresome, love small towns, love the outdoors, and are willing to put your best efforts into all that you do, then this school is a great fit! Professors work with their students and really get to know them. They are always willing to go the extra mile. The faculty, likewise, is willing to listen to the demands of the students as a whole and on a case by case basis.

Categories Comments Bang for the buck Being a private school, it's a little more expensive than public colleges. It's worth it though! Small campus, small student population and a small town are worth it!
Will enjoy being here The Campus is pretty small and everything is within walking distance. I particularly love that it's in a small town setting with still lots of things to do when not on campus. Elkins is quiet, lovely and just quaint enough to feel homey. Plus it's an hour away from where I live!
Will learn a lot I just love the variety of classes that are available to students. It's a little bit of everything, and I can't wait to explore my options.

Categories Comments Campus Safety The campus is under 24 hours surveillance. It is a very safe environment. I have walked to and back from the library at any given time during the night and nothing has ever happened to me. I guess that assures the safety of the school and the city.
Greek Life Many Greek life, not so popular though. The dominant one is Sig Ep, a fraternity!
Clubs and Activities Not many clubs in town, but there is a bar on campus, the ice house serves the purpose. There are lots of activities ranging from summer activities like in the rivers of the surrounding area to snow activities.
Great for these types of students Students who want to just find an air to breath from all the hustle and bustle of city with out loosing all the fun. For those who really work for their academic future. It is also a great place for international students.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Being a small school has its benefits. Including BBQ night with the schools president who has an open door policy, Skydiving simulations, and other activities held ever Friday by the campus activity board.
Bang for the buck The experience gained in the school is definitely worth every penny spent.
What to do for fun Lots to do on campus on campus. Beginning from the campus gym and swimming pool to the Ice house which holds parties and concerts ever week from Thursday through Sunday. Ice house is also on campus Bar. Parties are thrown either by the school, one of the suites and/or the Greek community.
Food and Dining The food in the cafeteria is okay to good depending on your preference of food. Regulars include main entries, Asian stand, Salad bar, deli station, cereals and desert stations. Occasional bars include sushi bar, Mexican stand, hot dog stand, and the once in a while international food fest.
Dorm Life Regular doubles and singles, suites if requested. Academic halls for those who prefer quite study environment. Lots of student life activities in the dorms to help you get to know your neighbors well.
Academic Rigor Very Personalized education. Small classes with maximum 32 students. professors know everyone by name so they know when you are not doing so well in class and will help you in what ever way they can.
Tips for prospective students Expect a college where you know everyone and you can have a say in everything that goes around campus. The professors know you personally so a better learning environment. It is also open for diverse opportunities of internships and practicum.
In three sentences It is a small school for personalized education. The faculty and staff know each student by name and care for the well being of every individual. A unique college experience we will be gained from attending this college.

Categories Comments Campus Safety campus security is on call 24/7, year round. RAs are also always active- I am one!
Greek Life don't come here..we have only ONE fraternity..no sorority.
Clubs and Activities join Student Assembly to feel apart of the entire campus, join clubs (involved with SA), and be involved!
Great for these types of students anyone who likes the outdoors, theatre, music, folk traditions...
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus front lawn is great for ultimate frisbee and pick-up games. We do have intramurals!
What to do for fun Hiking, rafting, outdoorsy things; Bowling; Movies; Some shopping.
Food and Dining Cafe/Dining Hall isn't too bad, but if you're picky you'll be upset.
Dorm Life Most dorms don't have A/C, but the dorms are better than commuting.
Academic Rigor You get out what you put in.
Tips for prospective students Always attend classes; attendance points count here. Don't get involved in drama, it's a very close knit community.
In three sentences Teachers know your name and are truly concerned about your education. You know every one's name on campus and are connected within the community. The campus is gorgeous- especially in the fall.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Even though I visited during Thanksgiving break, campus patrol was still doing their rounds.
Food and Dining You have many different options for food. There are always about eight different kinds of food being served in the cafeteria itself. But then you also have little food places around campus to chose from.
Dorm Life The dorms are great. They are just the right size, and the closets are even spacious.
Academic Rigor The academic rigor seems to be very rigorous, which will be good when looking for a job.
In three sentences The campus was beautiful and the people were really welcoming. The campus is also self-contained, so you can go off campus to Walmart if you want to, but you really have no need to. The class sizes are small, which means more one-on-one time with the instructors.
