Categories Comments Tips for prospective students Delaware State is a nice school. Expect to come here and learn alot and also get alot of one on one time with professors when needed. The school also offers tutoring sessions if you need extra help. There are alot of campus organizations and activities, which many of the students enjoy. The campus is right across the street from a mall, which has every possible store you may need to shop at from school supplies to groceries.
Am enjoying being here I have alot of fun outside of classes. Going to various social events allows you to have fun while learning at the same time.
Am learning a lot Learning is a fundamental thing at this school. Don't take your education for granted becuase the classroom size is small enough for you to ask as many questions when there is something not understood.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students I feel that's Its great for everyone. People mistaken HBCUs as all black colleges when all it is, is Historically Black. at the end of the day we are all here for the same reasons and that's to enhance our education, so if you play sports, love music, art, mass communications, nursing, social work, criminal justice and so many other things I would recommend you to come to Delaware State University
Tips for prospective students For prospective students I would recommend coming here Just know who you are and what you come here to do and you will be fine.
Bang for the buck It definitely is worth coming here as well It is a bit expensive but it definitely is worth it. coming from Long Island University and comparing the prices I would recommend whomever too come here.
Am enjoying being here I love being here it's not to far from home, and I just Love learning in General, Dover mall is right across the street and my cousin goes to Wesley college about 5 minutes away met Great fellow students, as well as professors and administration.
Am learning a lot I definitely am learning a lot here I transferred from Long island University in Brooklyn NY, and I never had the opportunity to learn such variety of things. For example about black history, the most I knew about Black History was what they could squeeze in during Black History month but here I have the opportunity to get in touch with my past as well as others on this campus.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students If you don't want a large campus, this is the college for you; close to Washington, DC; Shopping mall across the street
Tips for prospective students You must realize that college is NOT high school. Time management is the key to success. The freedom you will have is going to make you feel great but understand that with freedom comes responsibility.
Bang for the buck It all balances out.
Am enjoying being here Small campus but has the family feel.
Am learning a lot My schedule is intense but the professors are great.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Delaware State University is a school that is great for students that look a for college that is small enough so that the students will be known as his or her name, and not a number. DSU has small classes which gives students the ability to know his or her professor not only in the class room but personally. In many large universities getting and staying in touch with teachers can be difficult; therefore, if you are looking for small class and campus DSU is good for you!
Tips for prospective students Some tips that I would give for prospective students would be to visit the campus to be sure the location is something that will best fit your needs as a student. I would also recommend visiting to speak with professors and current students to see what the class sizes are like, and what currents student like about their school. This could in many ways be a the make or break of a prospective students final decision when deciding on a college.
Bang for the buck Delaware State University definitely gives their students the bang for the buck, because of the neat location, clean and comfortable campus, and plenty of activities to due on campus with its new and renovated cafe, gym (indoor, and outdoor), and pools.
Will enjoy being here I will definitely enjoy being at Delaware State because it is a nice location near the Dover Mall, a Boys and Girls club is on campus, and the campus is closed and gated off to the rest of the community; therefore, it gives the students a sense of safety.
Will learn a lot Because I have attended the new student orientation, I can see that the staff and campus are well organized and caters to the needs of the students. The equipments and students facilities shows that the staff take their students opinions about their campus serious, due to the fact that they added a new gym, and cafe. I'm really excited to attend Delaware State.

Categories Comments Bang for the buck Delaware State has a lot of issues with having things working such as, the internet, cable, appliances.
Am enjoying being here Some days are fun, some days are boring. There is a lot of different activities that do go on on campus, just have to find the ones you'll enjoy.
Am learning a lot Each teacher has a different teaching style. Some teachers are more helpful, some teachers feel that since we're college students they don't need to be more helpful outside of class. The lectures in class have a lot of information in them, so paying attention is key because the information that is giving is important and you will learn a lot.

Categories Comments Tips for prospective students Even though I fell in love with the idea of becoming a DESU student, it is unfortunate that I have to report their poor services. Being an out-of-state student, a lot of my business with them had to be conducted via telephone. This made it impossible to get things done and situated. I remember calling numerous times to simply check my financial aid status and trying to receive my remaining balance with the school; I never received a call-back or an email regarding my issue. Though they were friendly over the phone, I received little to no help resulting in me missing two semesters of school and having to transfer to another institution. I hope they get it together because I would hate for another student to experience the frustration and heartbreak that I did.
Did enjoy being here With the social life, academic life and all the culture that Delaware State has to offer, I was and still am sure that I'd LOVE campus life.
Did learn a lot Though there is a lot that I love about the University, there are some negative things about Del State that I've learned the hard way.. Check my tips for perspective students section for quick insight on my experience.

Categories Comments What to do for fun For fun and my friends hang out. Rather it's baking cookies, shopping or going to the movies. We always find something to do
Food and Dining The food is alright but could be better. The are very few options. You basically the same thing all the time.
Dorm Life The dorm are not great. They could be cleaned better and refurnished. Some of the dorms are really old and need to be brought up to date.
Academic Rigor I had some great professors this year. However there are a few that are very unorganized and unprofessional.
Tips for prospective students Stay focused. Work first party later. College isn't cheap make the best of it.

Categories Comments Tips for prospective students This isn't high school at ALL!!! What you have to understand is that your paying money to go to school, it isn't free..so if you screw up, then thats it.
Bang for the buck For out of state students like myself....sometimes its not worth it. You have to be on top of everything with this school. Especially when it comes to financial aid and housing.
Am enjoying being here Yes! Well I'm a member of the Approaching Storm Marching Band, and having my band family has really made my college experience woth every moment.
Academic Rigor Shockingly, I did learn alot from being here at Delaware State. The classroom sizes are pretty decent, and the professors are good as well.

Categories Comments What to do for fun i like to go out to eat with my friends. also like to shop at the dover mall once in while. i also like to watch the basketball games they give at the school.
Food and Dining delaware state university is located in dover, de. near the school you have all types of restrauants to eat and enjoy. there is also, the dover mall, which they have a food court that is very selective.
Dorm Life everyone is warm and friendly. it is easy to befriend people and there are even some who will show you around the campus. the people there become your family and school becomes your second home.
Academic Rigor you must have a desire to obtain your degree and excel at any majors you choose. the professor there help you along the way and encourage you to do well. if you find yourself falling behind, take advantage of the tutoring service on campus.
Tips for prospective students make sure fasfa is turned in early, to receive all financial opportunities. know what career path you plan to take, once you graduate college. register early to receive the class needed for your major.
In three sentences delaware state university is one of the top historical black colleges in the u.s. this school has many majors to choose from. all students are welcome to visit and apply.

Categories Comments Campus Safety delaware state has their own public safety who are the campus police. they are here to protect every student and all faculty to make sure our environment is safe. if any incident was to occur, they would immediately contact the campus so everyone is aware. if a student has a problem or needs medical assisting, public safety will be contacted first.
Clubs and Activities this campus contains clubs for people interested in arts to computers. each bulletin board you walk pass contains information that helps students be involved and know what is going on. if you feel as though nothing suits you, you can always begin your own club or start and activity!
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus almost every thursday evening the campus sga hosts what is titled the 1200 lounge to give students a chance to relax, listen to music, play games, and participate in events to have fun! this event often helps take a load off of students shoulders, interact with peers and be introduced to upcoming events on campus.
Food and Dining there are three main locations to get food on campus. one is the village cafe', which is located on the west side of the campus and is similar to a buffet. another is conrad, that is a building on campus which holds three different selections to choose to eat. here you are severed checkers restaurant, meat or veggie wraps, and even home-style chicken and potato wedges. the third location on campus to eat is the austin grill located in our student center which serves everything from cheeseburgers to burritos. most purchases can be made based upon your meal plans. and if you crave something else, the school is surrounded with eateries and restaurants that should satisfy your hunger.
Dorm Life there are coed, male, and female residents halls on delaware state's campus. depending on your choice upon enrollment is where you may. each hall is set up with two to a room (3 in some circumstances) and divided into wings. the residential halls are fairly similar, and you become eligible based on your credit hours. living in the dorms is a great way to meet new friends and learn to live outside of what you're used to back home.
Academic Rigor this university has approximately a 12:1 faculty to student ratio. if you find your courses challenging, there are many resources to help you on campus, you just have to be willing to access and use them. some say college work is less rigorous than work assigned in high school, you just have to learn to manage time, social skills, and your priorities.
Tips for prospective students if you are planning to attend delaware state university it is suggested to become familiar with the school and campus itself. think about what you're interested in and what you plan to major in, to predict how you can make your own mark on the world. it is also very important to stay on top on financial aid, and your personal understanding of paying for college.
In three sentences delaware state university is a credible hbcu. through the orientations, campus visits, and interest meetings, you can learn a lot about the university. our goal is making our mark on the world.

Categories Comments Greek Life Greek life is CRAZY! They're always out on the plots playing music and they always come through parties with their step. They're a ot of fun.
Clubs and Activities There are a lot of clubs to join, you just have to look for them and research them.
Bang for the buck The school is so money hungry. You have to pay 5 cents a copy to print and 10 cents a copy to copy (awkward I know). They do give you 100 dollars in flex meaning after the dinner meal is over, you may use the 100 dollars they give you each semester to pay for your food.
What to do for fun There isn't stuff to do locally especially when you don't have a car but within walking distance we have a mall. The mall sucks unfortunately, but in the mall there's a theater. Besides that, there's not much to do except go to parties.
Food and Dining Eventually it will seem like you have the same meals everyday but it is much better than some schools who only have one place to eat. We have three!
Dorm Life The freshman dorms do not have AC, you may not have a refrigerator without a doctor's note, and you may not bring a portable AC. There is no curfew, however, their is visitation policies when your guests but be out of the building. Once you leave the freshman dorms, you will have more freedom.
Academic Rigor Their nursing program is amazing because they really do seem to get you ready for what is to come once you graduate. The professors are not the best but if you ask around, people will give you wonderful professors to take to make your classes run smoothly. Keep that GPA starting from FRESHMAN year.
Tips for prospective students Keep a close eye on your billing account at all times because they will be QUICK to put you at the bottom of the list for housing and registering for classes. Even though you will be getting the run around when you ask questions and it can be very frustrating, do NOT give up. When you finally get your answer, it will be worth it because you can then tell others.
In three sentences I do not recommend this school because they are unorganized and inconsistent. You will have to worry about issues that arise from thin air that was not even your fault but the school's fault. Also, the tuition is not worth paying for for the horrible housing that is given.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students I believe that Delaware State University is a great school for all types of students. Any student that wants to be somebody in life will be a great student at this school!
Tips for prospective students Some tips for prospective students planning to enroll to Delaware State University is to APPLY APPLY APPLY! Apply to as many scholarships as you can because scholarships will be a big help in the long run! DONT WAIT, APPLY NOW :)
Bang for the buck Unfortunately I am not getting as much money as I planned. But I have recently been applying for scholarships that I have not met the deadlines for. I truly want to become a part of the Delaware State University's Hornet Family so I will continue to apply until I get closer to tuition! Sadly that is $14,000 more :( but I refuse to give up :)
Will enjoy being here Many of my peers are planning to enroll in Delaware State University as well. We plan to enjoy time on campus as well as helping each other stay focused while enjoying the college life all at the same time :)
Academic Rigor I have heard nothing but great things concerning this school. I am sure that I will indeed learn a lot and I can not wait to further my education in the field of the sciences at Delaware State University this fall semester. c/o 2011

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Delaware State University is a great place for students who want to be surrounded by a close diverse community of people who share the same or similar ideas as you.
Tips for prospective students Study hard, have fun and do what you need to do to achieve your goals during your matriculation.
Bang for the buck Delaware isn't the cheapest school but compare to others it's very cheap. Also, for the out-of-state students the tuition is more reasonable than other institutions.
Am enjoying being here I love being here at Delaware State University. The campus is more diverse than you would think for an Historically Black College or University.
Am learning a lot Delaware State University has taught me numerous things about black history. Delaware State has taught me more about Black history than my high school did.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Fun loving, energetic, students wanting to learn more everyday. It is also for the students who are more shy. The people at DSU will definitely open you up, and have you willing to do allot more. You'll feel so comfortable on campus. It is for the students who want to have a home away from home !
Tips for prospective students become a well rounded student as early as possible. get involved, and enjoy what you do. keep your academics as your highest priority, and don't slack off as a senior.
Bang for the buck Attending DSU is inexpensive; whether you come from in state or out of state. They offer lots of organizations and groups to be apart of, which are also worth the little bit of money you may pay to be apart of.
Will enjoy being here DSU is fun and beautiful campus to be on. Its nice and clean and the students and staff there are very welcoming, nice and enthusiastic.
Will learn a lot Delaware State University is a great academic place. They offer many degrees of high scholar. Obtaining a business degree from DSU is like getting a degree from HARVARD !

Categories Comments What to do for fun The main thing to do to improve on your self individually is to join an organization for your major or one that sparks your interest.
Food and Dining Food and Dining has definitely improved during my years here. I believe it was mainly due to the surveys that the students complete to rate the quality of food and what we would like to see change.
Dorm Life For me dorm life was good because I was paired up with good and friendly girls and I lived in the honor dorm during my freshman year which made it even better because they aren't traditional housing.
Academic Rigor In the department that I am currently enrolled in, the nursing department it is very challenging. So make sure that you do not play around from the beginning. Entry into the clinical part of the nursing program is GPA based and if you don't have at least a 3.0 or better don't even bother.
Tips for prospective students stay on top of the financial aid office when it comes time to turn in documents and required worksheets. Make copies of everything because things can be misplaced. Become aware and familiar with the people that work in the financial aid office because they will be more willing to help you. Log in every time it comes in your head to your myDESU account to make sure that they don't require something and didn't make you aware of it. Always check your blackboard once school starts to make sure you have completed all of your required assignments. And always remember to activate and check your school email because that is the route that organizations, teachers and individuals in the administration building keep in contact with you. The first thing you want to do when you decide that you want to go to DSU is to secure your housing arrangements.
In three sentences this institution is doing more to benefit the students and the surrounding community more now than ever before. I am very impressed with the activities that are going on their and the opportunities that are available for me as a student. I look forward to Delaware State University being my Alma Mater.

Categories Comments Greek Life Lots of Greek Activity. It was nice to see the different spots for specific fraternities and sororities near the dorm room.
Food and Dining The food is amazing. You never run out of choices, and there is plenty of ice-cream.
Dorm Life The dorms appear kinda cramped, but that could be because I only saw a boy's room. Co-ed dorm looks pretty old, and could use some work, but overall a nice place.
Academic Rigor The courses can be challenging, but if you do what your professors tell you, and commit to doing your best then you'll be fine from what I can tell.
Tips for prospective students Make sure that you visit the campus. It's beautiful, but you should see it for yourself. Do your best to network with professors in you intended major.
In three sentences I love the campus, and the food isn't bad either. There are great students, and wonderful professors ready to help you on your journey through college. I know that it will be a great experience.

Categories Comments Campus Safety the campus is a closed campus, which means there are gates at every entrance. students are required to show id when they enter the campus after hours. there is also an emergency alert system in place that includes mass text messages, phone calls and emails. there are blue security lights all across campus.
Greek Life there is a multitude of greek activity on campus. they are very active, and host multiple events on campus.
Clubs and Activities there is something for everyone here at Delaware State. From Band to the Latino Student Organization, to a many others, everyone has the opportunity to find something they like to be involved in.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus the greek plots is where the most of the fraternities and sororities host cookouts, and the organizations are always hosting events on campus
Bang for the buck overall, the price is good for the money. there is plenty to do, and many students strive for academic excellence.
What to do for fun many students enjoy spending time at the recently built student center, which houses the book store, a convenience store, and a game room. there is also a lot of places around the campus that hosts things to do.
Food and Dining there are 3 main options on campus for food. the village cafe, austin grill and conrad hall are all open from breakfast to dinner, and Austin Grill is open for late night dining, and conrad hall is open until 10 pm. with a wide variety of options, students should always be able to find something to eat.
Dorm Life the traditional dorms are ok. some of the buildings need a little bit of care, but for the most part they arent bad. students should try to apply for any building but conwell hall or jenkins hall.
Tips for prospective students Get all of the paperwork done for registration and financial aid as soon as possible. otherwise you run the risk of being purged, incur extra fees, and end up having to wait in an extremely long line.
In three sentences there is a large selection of classes and majors available to the students. the process of registering for classes could use a little bit of streamlining, but for the most part there are no issues. in a majority of the classes, the staff and faculty push the students to do the best they can.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Campus police are always around when you need them!
Greek Life The Greek life is cool too. I am not a part of the Greek life, but I do know that they make campus life fun as well. They have shows and parties all of the time.
Clubs and Activities There are many clubs and activities at DSU. There is a club for every major, dance clubs, and many other sports and student government clubs.
Great for these types of students In my opinion, DSU is a school that is good for students who want to have a good time, but understands that their education comes first.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Some times the Greeks have little events on the plots. The plots is one of the special locations on campus.
Bang for the buck Overall, I think that Delaware State University is a great school! It is not perfect, but nothing in this world is. DSU is an amazing place filled with thousands of success stories!
What to do for fun There are many things to do at DSU for fun! We have an amazing gym where you can work out, play sports, or even take dance classes. You can get involved in extra activities, go to the game room, party, or simply just hang out with some friends to have a good time.
Food and Dining I loved the food at DSU at first. Eventually I got tired of eating the same foods so I had to change it up a little. Sometimes I ate campus food and other times I went food shopping. As far as the dining areas, I would give DSU a perfect 10!
Dorm Life Dorm life can be ok depending on where you dorm and who you live with and around. Of course some dorms are cleaner and noiser than others. Dorm life was not the greatest, but it was not horrible either.
Academic Rigor Fall semester I earned a 3.53 GPA and Spring Semester a 3.8. The academics at DSU can be difficult if you are not focused. If you stay on top of your school work you will do fine.
Tips for prospective students When coming to DSU, come in prepared to learn. It is important to stay focused or your grades will drop. Just remember to work hard and play later!
In three sentences I loved my first year at DSU. The school is family friendly and fun. Campus life is amazing!

Tips for prospective students Make sure you visit the campus before you actually move in. Stay focused on your studies. Use time management wisely.

Clubs and Activities Track team
What to do for fun Play basketball or work out in the Wellness.
Food and Dining Its so many different food items you can choose from.
Dorm Life Freshman year dorms are horrible
Academic Rigor The professors will help you succeed if you meet the half way and get help.
Tips for prospective students Always attend class and stay with a good group of students.
In three sentences The university has a nice campus well taken care of. It is always something to do when you join clubs. The university admission office is hard to get in contact with.

Categories Comments Campus Safety We have legit cops on campus so if you doing something illegal don't caught or your in some real trouble.
Clubs and Activities We have so many clubs you won't know what to chose from. We have dance, modle(2), men groups, women groups, latino grouos, ect.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus We have the best Greek life. At DSU we have the Divine 9, which means we have every sorority and fraternity.
Bang for the buck Some people complain about the school but I love my school and I will forever be a HORNET! Whenever someone ask where should they further there education I always say DELAWARE STATE UNIVERSITY the best HBCU....VISIST THE CAMPUS AND YOU WILL FALL IN LOVE!
What to do for fun There are a lot of parties on and off campus. Make NEW friends around campus and hang out together, go to the mall across the street, get dressed up and go out to eat. You have to make your own fun, nothing will be handed to you. They hold lots of events on campus go to them!
Food and Dining The food not so great. You will likely order out a lot.
Dorm Life Again, it depends where you live. If it's traditional housing and your sharing everything with a hall full of people things can get loud and messy, but it's all apart of the experience.
Academic Rigor It all depends on who you have. I can only speak for myself. I think the classes where okay, not the greatest.
Tips for prospective students If you will be attenting DSU come in with a positive attitude and open minded. Do not come into the school with what someone else told you because that will effect your outlook and potentially affect your four years there in a negative way (make it your own experience). Last but not least have fun enjoy your time there stay on top of your academics and learn to balance both.
In three sentences They are not the most organized school but no matter what I take pride in my school. I think every student there will have something they don't like (but that's any where). Overall it's a great school not too big, not to small.

Categories Comments Campus Safety I would have to say DSU public safety has done a fair job of keeping our school safe and staying strict to their promise of campus safety. At the front of the school we have id checks to assure that the student is a student at DSU and for every party we have id checks. One thing they do need to improve on is the safety of the students after a party or letting anyone with a id onto campus.
Greek Life Greek life has been a huge input on DSU campus. A Lot of freshman are more appalled by the Greek life then any other organizations on campus. The Greeks tend to put a lot of work on campus as far as events, fundraisers, donations, and step shows.
Clubs and Activities We have plenty of organizations and clubs to get involved in. What I like best about our organizations and clubs on campus is that their not focused on one major, its usually broad enough for anyone and everyone to join.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus One tradition we have on campus is the DSU SLIDE. When a particular song come on (before I let go) we have our own step and dance to the song that we like to showcase for other schools or incoming freshman.
Bang for the buck In my opinion, the academic status is not up to par. My major has their own organization, club, and courses, but we haven't done much on campus to introduce the club or major to underclassmen. We need to do more on campus.
What to do for fun There is always something going on at DSU. If there isn't a educational program going on then there's a extracurricular activity going on. Year-round our SGA and our class representatives try to make sure the students stay productive, interested, and positive.
Food and Dining I am a uprising senior and the past 3 years I have been here the food has been edible but do indeed need some improvement. The school needs to offer more healthy choices rather than, fried chicken Thursdays. My senior year they are now including a subway, chik-fil-a, and a pizza spot in our cafe which is fine but may give the wrong image to our students.
Dorm Life I am proud to say I loved my college dorm life. If I didn't stay where I did, I probably would have never met the people I know now. The dorms are comfortable and clean. The dorms can be more affordable in my opinion because its causing a lot of students to have to commute rather then staying on campus.
Academic Rigor Our academic programs have helped enrich students, including myself, on our particular majors. Its good that we offer tutoring, peer counseling, and other helpful programs to help students stay focused in school.
Tips for prospective students My one tip for prospective students is to always be aware of your grades. School and education can get you very far in today's society and it is definitely a requirement, by all means enjoy your college life, but set priorities first.
In three sentences Delaware State University has had a drastic input on my life pointing towards independence. I have learned that the real world is a serious world to live in and DSU has been able to prepare and mold me into a beautiful woman. This experience has helped me learn more about myself and choosing the right paths to stay on.

Categories Comments What to do for fun There are always programs at school. Whether it be thrown by the different sorority on campus or the student government association. This year they have really made an effort to make sure we have things to do at night.
Food and Dining We recently got a new contract with a different food vendor. This gave us more variety. The school really listened to our opinions, which was nice.
Dorm Life I live in off campus apartments, and I love it. I can walk to my school. The only time it's a hassel is during big events at my school and security really cracks down, sometimes a little too hard.
Academic Rigor My particular major is chemistry and I for one can say it is not easy. My teachers provide many ways to excel even though the subject itself is hard. Studying is not an option its a necessity.
Tips for prospective students Make sure you have your financial aid straighten out as soon as possible. Don't wait til the last minute to turn things in. If you have a problem and you need help, just ask for it.
In three sentences Delaware State is a small school where the teachers are always available. My adviser really knows the ins and outs of chemistry and she gives great advise. My department really looks out for their students, and we are priority.

Categories Comments What to do for fun There is plenty of things students can do for fun. Delaware State has social gatherings with music and dance, they have a game-room where students can play the latest games or play each other in pool, and last they have a brand new fitness center where students can swim, workout, or play sports.
Food and Dining Delaware State University has a variety of different styles of food for people from all over. If you like southern food they have it, Asian food they have it, or if your in the mood for an Italian dish they have it. Hope you have a large appetite because it's an all you can eat cafeteria.
Dorm Life Delaware State University Dorm life is another great experience everyone who attends should experience. There are many different types of dorms from traditional to non-traditional housing. Each dorm has it's perks and benefits.
Academic Rigor The academic rigor that Delaware State University has is competitive. Like every other institute each year the classes get harder and more comprehensive, but never fear each year those classes can become easier as well with the right tools and mindset of a student.
Tips for prospective students Some tips for prospective students would be learn not only in the classrooms, but outside the classrooms and from your peers. College is a great experience that everyone isn't as fortunate to experience, so take advantage of the endless opportunities.
In three sentences Delaware State University is a great University with an excellent business program as well as others. Delaware State has great social and academic life your incoming, returning , and transfer students.

Categories Comments Greek Life They don't have greek housing but the frats and sororities are an amazing sight and group of people
What to do for fun Dover is a very small city and surrounded by mostly businesses. So as students we always get together and party.
Food and Dining Delaware state has the cafe, the grill and the other varieties of place on campus to eat. Also the mall is directly across the street where students can walk and eat. After a while you do get tire of the on campus food.
Dorm Life I found freshman difficult to adjust to. You are typically placed in a wing with 50 girls and 6 showers and bathroom! The space is confined especially when you are used to having your own room. Also, its one kitchen for the whole building that has nearly 300 students. Problems arise on the daily generally because we were not allowed to have microwaves and refrigeratioRS due to the old building
Academic Rigor The academic level is astonishing. Delaware state specify on science and business so those majors have the most resources.
Tips for prospective students A few tips for prospective students are to manage your time and use it wisely. Transitioning from high school to college can be very difficult. No longer will you have your parents standing on top of you telling you what and when to complete things.
In three sentences Delaware state university is a very diverse school enriched in culture. The campus is beautiful and very convenient in the community. Also the education is amazing especially the tutoring and the amount of help.

Categories Comments Campus Safety ehh.. its okay not the top of the line but they do what they can and work hard so im happy
Greek Life the greek life is very important on campus.. lol but im not going to give away any spoilers haha
Clubs and Activities there is a club for EVERYONE!!!
Bang for the buck this is the only college i've ever been to so i dont know
What to do for fun there is a ton of on campus organizations that just about anyone can take part of, you also have the gym to go work out or even the MLK student center
Food and Dining new food service WHOAAA!!!
Dorm Life if you live in a dorm whoa!!! or half way there but other then that you could have problems with no water or no hot water, cleanliness, and irresponsibility of the RA's really vary from dorm to dorm
Academic Rigor the classes are serious so be serious about studying and getting your homework and labs done asap!!
Tips for prospective students only thing anyone needs to remember is, you are in college to get your education not to party or any other reason, you are there to move on toward the future so stay focused and do not get caught up.
In three sentences Socially the school is amazing, from organizations to on campus parties to even just the atmosphere of dorm life it makes you love your life and the people you spend you time with. but the school is not worried about quality of the living situation of their students, from no hot water, to no water at all. the school is more worried about quantity, money and number of students coming in, it makes getting in each semester very hard to hold your spot but not impossible.

Categories Comments Campus Safety As far as parking goes they are sticklers. Though there permit system is down so they keep giving people tickets. They are very lackadaisical when it comes to solving an issue.
Clubs and Activities They have quite a few organizations on campus, but your not made aware of them. You have to make sure to be aware of your surroundings, because no one will tell you when something is going on.
What to do for fun Go to a football game. Go hang out on the sorority/fraternity plots, ONLY if there's a party. Go to the game room in the student center.
Food and Dining Food isn't too bad. They have two on campus cafeteria, but one of them doesn't serve breakfast making eating breakfast obsolete. I suggest that both cafe's have better hours of operations.
Dorm Life Horrible. I pay the same amount to live in a dorm that is two times smaller than other dorms, and has no air conditioning. It also does not have wi-fi, so I was without internet for awhile.
Academic Rigor The aviation program, for those who want challenge this is your best bet. You absolutely have to be dedicated to this major and profession. But it is very rewarding in the long run if your finish your degree.
Tips for prospective students Visit ALL of the traditional residence halls if you can. Visit a classroom setting if possible. Get as much information on this university before making a decision.
In three sentences Beautiful campus. Although the cost of traditional housing is unethical for some residence halls. They have a major problem with parking.

Clubs and Activities Have not joined any clubs yet. Will do soon.
Great for these types of students Students who can prioritize and like to have fun.
Bang for the buck Women are on point. If you are a fly person, keep it up. Dress to impress.
What to do for fun Parties, study groups, clubs, and intramural teams.
Food and Dining Food is good, will put u on the toilet though lol
Dorm Life Conwell, Laws, & Tubman NO AC. Tubman and Laws all women & Conwell all males. Towers have AC & bathroom inside dorm.
Academic Rigor Depends on level of education andamount of knowledge you can develop.
Tips for prospective students PRIORITIZE YOUR TIME! ITS NOT A GAME! U could have a ball out here, just make sure u stay on ya work.

Categories Comments What to do for fun There are many activities on campus in terms of parties, fundraisers, and the game room( equipped with a pool table xbox 360 and ps3). There is also a mall right across the street from the school with a movie theater. Fun could be just as simple as hanging with friends.
Food and Dining The food for the most part is tolerable. They serve different types of food and there is salt available if one needs seasoning. One can also eat multiple plates of food.
Dorm Life Depending on the people the community bathroom can be very unpleasant. I cope and do my part by picking paper up from the floor when I can. Also the dorm rooms are quite small but durable.
Academic Rigor They have a balanced academic program it is challenging yet rewarding. I feel I will be able to succeed. It can be difficult but not impossible to do well, the help is always there.
Tips for prospective students Do things as quickly as possible. Make sure Financial Aid is set before first day of arrival. Keep all documents, save and make copies.

Tips for prospective students If you plan on coming, make sure you are able to balance work and pleasure. There's lots of fun activities to indulge in, but you have to be responsible and choose work over play.

Categories Comments Campus Safety There are campus police, however, there are still events happing on campus. For example, phones are being stolen, people have been robbed, etc.
Greek Life The Greek life on campus is the buzz around school. Students of this institution are always talking about them.
Clubs and Activities There are countless number of activities and clubs for a student to join, including; SGA, DMV club, Royal Court (Mr./Ms. Sophomore, Junior, Senior, Delaware State University)
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus There are Greek plots where some fraternities and sororities have a BBQ, have parties, etc.
Bang for the buck Delaware State University, much like many colleges, charges for every little thing. Money comes with a meal plan (for those who are living on campus). They are called Flex Dollars. Each meal plan comes with 100 flex dollars. They are used to buy food after dining hours (which end at 7:30). It may seem like a lot, but $100 will go quickly. Spend wisely.
What to do for fun Delaware State University is located in Dover, DE. Dover doesn't offer much for fun, but there are a lot of stores located just across the street from the campus. On campus, the Student Government Association offers many fun events for students to do. Also, the first week of school, students are allowed to enjoy luau parties, basketball games, etc.
Food and Dining Delaware State University is getting Subway and a Chic-Fil-A on campus. The other dining halls on campus offer a variety of food including, pizza, salad bar, cooked meals, sandwiches, etc. With all these food varieties, one must be aware of the freshman fifteen!
Dorm Life Freshman dorms on campus vary; some are co-ed, some have no a/c, etc. The visitation hours are very lenient. Upperclassman dorms are much better. They have a/c and are more appealing to the eye. Overall, the dorm life of Delaware State depends on your class, and what you make of it.
Academic Rigor The teachers want nothing more than for the student to thrive in the classroom, and break academic barriers.
Tips for prospective students I would recommend choosing your major wisely. For example, one of their most competitive majors is the nursing program. They offer nursing to 300-400 people, but only 45 people are selected (during their junior year) to complete the program based on their GPA. The other 255-355 students have to find some alternatives (i.e., choosing a different major, waiting a semester to try again, going to another school)
In three sentences Delaware State University is an 'okay' school overall. The school offers many competitive majors and has a great athletic department. However, it is overpriced because the quality of the school does not reflect the cost of tuition.

Categories Comments What to do for fun I go to the gym. I participate in our community service opportunities. I go to the shopping mall across the way.
Food and Dining We have just installed a Chic-Fila and a Subway into our student center. We have the Conrad hall and the Village café to eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner at. We also are in the center of Dover so we have many restaurants surrounding our school.
Dorm Life The under classroom dorms all need to be fixed. Half of the dorms have no air condition, smell, and have mold growing on the walls. The athlete and the upper classroom dorms are the best.
