Totally great bang for the buck. In fact, there are quite a few professors at DVC who also teach at UC Berkeley and UC Davis.

Since you're only paying around $26 per unit, DVC is an amazing way to take University level classes at an extremely low price. That said, the school system is really hurting right now financially, so I would advise not buying your books at the bookstore. Go to Half.com, and you'll thank me later when you buy your Biology book for $20 rather than the $200 you would spend at the bookstore. If you have the money to spend $200 on a Biology textbook, then definitely go wild at the bookstore and feel good about supporting the school.

It's worth it to go here! DVC has the highest transfer rate as a community college in California. If you are thinking of going to a community college first, for Music, consider DVC! You wont regret it!

Costs rise and fall so make sure you talk to your teachers to see which books you must buy the most current edition, and which ones you can go onto Amazon to get an older edition and save some money. If you plan on possibly dropping any classes, ensure you do it before the refund date so that you get that money back.
