Categories Comments Bang for the buck Great school!
Am enjoying being here I have enjoyed my time at ELAC. I have attended both the Southgate and Main campus. I reall like the Southgate campus because it is smaller and less people. I like my classes with few people.
Am learning a lot East Los Angeles College has been a great school for me. I was going to Cerritos after high school but it was so packed, so I did not want to wait another semester, so I decided to register at Elac. Although there are no waiting lists at ELAC the chance of you getting into a class is high. I got into all the classes I wanted to, although they were full. I have learned a lot in these classes.

Categories Comments Campus Safety the campus safety is not that great. the cadets are only there for their own interest. they are usually flirting and not doing their job.
Greek Life no greek life for this is a community college.
Clubs and Activities there are many clubs around the campus and the best part is that its very easy to start your own club.
Great for these types of students this college is great for those who are confused about their major and for those who know what they want and strive for it.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus an unsual tradition me and my friends had was to gather up friends and people we randomly saw and make a huge picnic.
Bang for the buck the program eop&s very helpful and provides grants for school supplies.
What to do for fun there are many areas throughout the campus that are very relaxing to go and talk to friends.
Food and Dining not great food in campus, but plenty of food places near campus.
Dorm Life no dorms, so pretty much no dorm life.
Academic Rigor it is average, because not all teachers there are very helpful.
Tips for prospective students go to eop&s, it is a program that helps you with grants for books and provides great counselors.
In three sentences a good place to start your college years. a place to make great friends. good professor's that are there to help you succeed.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Community College is great for all of those who are struggling with money or simply do not know where they stand. Great for those in dilemmas and for those who need a pick up in course work.
Tips for prospective students Walk in to the classroom with optimism and an open mind. Some of the professors who give mean faces or seem tough, do it out of the desire to teach all of us a valuable lesson: persistence and discipline. Community college professors are very supportive and will guide and train us all for four year universities.
Bang for the buck Although, fees have gone up the quality of the education is amazing. Many of the professors are young and energetic, while others have a tremendous amount of knowledge and experience to share with the students, making well-rounded people out of all the students.
Am enjoying being here I chose to go to ELAC, because I was confused when i came out of high school. I was not quite sure if I could handle a four year college with a child. Thus, I chose a community college. My experience here has been mesmerizing. I have a lot of support from proffessors and counselors who have guided me in the right direction. There are so many opportunities, from internships to scholarships.
Am learning a lot I believe that the outcome of a student has a lot to do with the quality of teaching from the professor. At ELAC, I have had great teachers with a lot of on hands work. Not only are the lectures very interesting, but they are also very relative to many of our lives. I have had professors who i can trust and rely on in case of an emergency. There are a lot of dialogues in and outside the class between professors and students as well which makes learning more personal and interactive.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Students who want good experience, a cheap but satisfying education, and an entry way into a bigger style of learning. Also, check out the theater section while you're there, new fields are emerging each semester, most better than the last and covering all fields.
Tips for prospective students Check out what majors are held here and consider going for that so you can get some experience. Stop by the transfer office and look at the different universities and such you'd be interested in going to. Over at Elac, everyone wants you to get the highest education you can, so transferring should be your first step.
Bang for the buck ELAC is a small school, but there are many classes to attend and a lot of extracurricular activities. Simply apply for a fee waiver, but even the normal price is nothing compared to what you can experience at such a school. Definitely bang for the buck.
Am enjoying being here Getting to know the teachers and students at ELAC is definitely helpful to an enjoyable experience, especially considering how nice and pleasent the majority of the campus is. There's a lot to do, a lot of clubs to join, and a lot of people to meet, plus plenty of events are happening each day if you really look around.
Am learning a lot The school is constantly changing, adding new resources each day, but more importantly it listens to the students in terms of change. The teachers all want students to succeed and are willing to go the distance with each of them. With emerging fields in different categories, such as play-writing, directing, journalism, nursing, and many more, this school has much to offer in education.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students This college is great for those who love the high school feeling campuses and love extracurricular activities. Also great for transfering and those who kind of want to glide through with their general education classes.
Tips for prospective students Remember to always take an orientation and see a counselor before adding any classes. Also roam around and explore the different services and clubs out there at ELAC, as alot of them want to help you succeed in college and make you feel welcomed.
Bang for the buck This place is very considerably cheap compared to ANY other community college. The best part is that if you're enrolled in ELAC, you are also enrolled in other 8 community colleges within the Los Angeles District. This gives you priority for registering for classes within the district. They even have a fee waiver for those who can't pay for college.
Am enjoying being here Diffinitely feels great to be at ELAC, considering it being very cozy like campus feeling. The students here have lots of club spirit and are constantly participating in events. The services here like financial aid, admissions, and all other academic services are very helpful and makes transitioning to college a breeze.
Am learning a lot This school's academic teaching can varie. It ultimately depends if you land on the right professors. Maybe because it is a community college... but some professors leave early, or just kind of glide through teaching class. I've attended ELAC for 3 years now so I've seen all sorts of professors. The really good teachers actually teach really well and like an university level.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students This school is good for students that will like to transfer.
Tips for prospective students Come ready to learn and you will learn a lot. Don't be scared to ask for help because pretty much everyone will be happy to help you out.
Bang for the buck Tuition is pretty cheap. I don't pay for my tuition because our school has a fee waver. Most of the students that I know have applied for the fee waver and have qualified.
Am enjoying being here The school has such a great environment and the students here are very amiable.
Am learning a lot The professors here are very friendly and will help you out if you ask them. All the professors I have had so far care about your education if you show that that you are determined to learn.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Great for those who don't know where to go from high school.
Tips for prospective students Get good grades and transfer quick.
Bang for the buck You save a lot of money because the government pays for your classes and with your FASFA all you need to buy are your books. Put the money aside for when you transfer is the best advice I can give.
Am enjoying being here Although I would have rather been at a University like I had initially planned I like the schools atmosphere. They welcome you into the school and it is easy to get around. Not to mention all the money I'm saving.
Am learning a lot As a first time college student at ELAC I found out first hand how hard it is to add classes. Although it is hard the teachers there are great and they have many programs to help you transfer in 2 years.

Categories Comments Campus Safety there are campus police patrolling the campus areas every now and then. we're pretty decent people despite the area the college is located. besides, if you're looking for trouble, you'll most definitely found it. so, as long as you stay out of trouble, you'll be safe.
Greek Life there are no sororities or fraternities at elac. the student body is friendlier enough that we can consider ourselves a family.
Clubs and Activities there are a myriad of interesting clubs at elac. i am actively participating in two of them. most of the clubs are career-based, meaning, the clubs belong to determined field of study. the activities the clubs do are mostly bake sales. the food is delicious, and a most welcomed break from the food truck and fast food restaurants.
Great for these types of students education is great for any type of student. but for elac, i will recommend it for students who are also working because of the flexibility. in a sense, elac is like an adult school because most of the students are older and/or have a degree and are only there to further their education.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus the three new gray buildings were built to house elac's most creative fields of study: art, music, dance, theater building, and the vincent price art museum. rarely are there any students around that little plaza, it definitely needs more life and students to create a comfortable and friendlier environment. sometimes, you'll be able to see some of the dance performers and musicians practice their score. it's quite interesting to see them do so! and eventually cheer them and become their fans and friends!
Bang for the buck the price for the unit has rise a little bit, but that happens everywhere because of the temporary economic recession we're currently suffering. elac does offer a variety of scholarships and financial aid. so the help is there, but you have to do your part and seek for it.
What to do for fun elac has a great performing arts center, newly opened. students can also enjoy of various art pieces in the vincent price art museum too, the largest museum in community college in southern california. i'm not a sporty person, so i cannot advise you as to the sports. but we have several varsity and sports' team on campus, and i've heard we're beating other colleges. the elac symphonic orchestra and dance and theater aren't bad either. they have several shows during the semester. also, we have debates and symphoniums. there are many things to do. come and see for yourself.
Food and Dining if you consider snacks and sodas from vending machines as food, then great for you. on campus, there are several vending machines and only one food truck (which provides good food in my opinion, though the prices could be questioned). there are also several fast food restaurants nearby, like carl's jr., togos, subways, pollo loco, taco bell. if you don't own a car, the choices are limited.
Dorm Life the student body is friendly and supportive, and most of them are willing to help you if you need help. there are no dorms at elac, though some people rent apartments nearby for x or y reason. i've heard good accounts of hospitality from them.
Academic Rigor i give this a four star because my professors have been strict with me. however, i believe that varies according to education level. you cannot expect an algebra class to be more rigorous than a calculus ii class. every professor is experienced in their field and will provide challenges and support to the student.
Tips for prospective students speak with a counselor upon registering to determine the courses you're going to need towards your degree or transfer. even though you'd like to take study slowly, you don't want to spend more then three years in any college.
In three sentences east los angeles college provides a variety of classes that helps anyone willing to learn toward the goal of acquiring an associate's degree and those who plan to transfer to complete a bachelor degree. the learning environment is very encouraging, with professors that are experienced, challenging, and flexible. the student body is very helpful and supportive.

Categories Comments What to do for fun the college offers many activities to do for fun. if you are into sports the cross country and track team are both very active and pretty good in rating in the finals. also, there are those programs for those of you who enjoy doing math and science such as mesa. lastly, the college stands up for its beliefs so you can also protest along with many other students about the budget cuts and financial aid cuts.
Food and Dining there is a man who has a small little stand inside the campus and he sells the best pizza and churros i've ever tasted. there is also a small car that sells great mexican food and sandwiches. we also have the student stores which have snacks and other delicious drinks.
Dorm Life unfortunately, there are no dorms in the campus but there are people who rent apartments near school and bring roommates to help pay rent.
Academic Rigor the students are all very willing in the campus. they try hard and create a competitive environment which is good because it pushes other students to also push their limits.
Tips for prospective students for those students who want to make it all the way to the top in their career, this is the right college to prepare you before going to the university level. this is not high school anymore, so keep on top of all work and do not procrastinate. use the resources like the tutoring centers and writing labs in order to help you get that a for the home works and presentations.
In three sentences east los angeles college is a wonderful college in which has the sufficient resources for a student to feel accommodated in. the college has great teachers who are willing to do everything in their power in order for students to get a good grasp of information. definitely, the campus has a good atmosphere, i love it!

Categories Comments Campus Safety campus safety is something most people shouldn't have to worry about. as there are security going around the school patrolling making sure nothing happens and ensure the safety of the students. we even have staff members taking care of the school making sure this is a safe school.
Clubs and Activities this school provides several clubs that students can join. there is the asu club where not only does it provide club services, but they also do lunches on campus just recently they had a sort of bbq in front of the technology building selling hot dogs and all sorts of things. this school has other clubs like bible club and all sorts of other clubs that all have their own activities for one to enjoy.
What to do for fun at this school there is plenty to do it all depends on what one likes to do. if you're the type of person that enjoys watching games, and so forth then you can go watch the football, vollyball, or other sports; if you like to shop for fun then you can go shopping at the atlantic square as they have fashion stores there; if you like exploring new places then you will enjoy this small waterfall thats close to the school. if you like to just read for fun this school has a wide enough library that has several books to read from, the library also provides a wi-fi service all around the school so if you like browsing the internet for fun you can do it anywhere on campus!
Food and Dining food and dining there are plenty of places around to eat. they have a variety of food one can select from chinese, hawaiian, carrows, subway, the hat, taco bell, pollo loco, carls jr, baskin robbins, and a couple few places more. but not just that there is also grocery stores around as the atlantic shopping center is right across the street.
Dorm Life i'm unsure of the dorm life. as there are no dorms on this campus nor the other two campuses this school has. but there are apartments around the area by the school that all one has to do is cross the street to get to the school. apartments around are some what expensive, but then again monterrey park is a good and safe community.
Academic Rigor academic rigor i'm unsure of what the expectations are. i am unsure if there is a certain gpa one must keep to keep being enrolled, but one thing for sure is that if you want to keep getting assistance of financial aid make sure to keep those grades up! one must behave, and respect the teachers that's one thing the school does state.
Tips for prospective students some tips of advise always listen to your teachers as they actually do want whats best for you. most teachers at other colleges will just hand you information but at east los angeles college teachers actually do take an interest in teaching you. another tip is always stay on task, and take advantage of the programs and different services the school provides for you as in counseling, workshops, and so on.
In three sentences this school is one of the best according to my experience. this school provides a good education, a safe atmosphere, a relaxing place to study at being that your surrounded by nature trees all around. this school has nice, and friendly staff members perhaps like other schools every now and then a few rude ones but most are willing to help when needed, when questions are asked they try to help one.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Campus safety is excellent! I have evening classes and there are always sheriff officers on campus that offer students a ride to their parking space. The campus is pretty lit up and safe.
What to do for fun The mall is not as far from school. There is also a Shakey's around the corner from it. Theres a place in the corner The Hat; they sell pastrami and burgers. A good place to hang out with friends or classmates.
Food and Dining There are plenty of food places around school. Including a taco truck located in the middle of campus. If you don't like tacos, then there is Carl's Jr, Subway, or IHOP, just to name a few.
Dorm Life Since this college is a community college, there are no dorms. Every students commutes weather they have class in the morning or late at night.
Academic Rigor If you don't ask a teacher for help they won't help you. Pretty much you;re on your own.
Tips for prospective students A major tip I would give is, if a students is applying for financial help, to do it as soon as possible because it does take quite a while to receive the award. Also, go to EOPs and join programs on campus.
In three sentences East Los Angeles College is a community college. It offers good programs for any majors. A good, place to go right after high school if you're unsure of what major you want.

Categories Comments Food and Dining There is not that many restaurants in the campus but there is fast food restaurants around the campus.
Academic Rigor What i had problems with is getting professors that don't teach well. Also trying to add classes i need but could not because there was no space in the class. So i had to wait a couple of semester to be able to add the class.
Tips for prospective students Now what your studying and look for programs that will assist you and help you succeed in college. Try to take the class you need so you can transfer or get your degree as soon as possible.
In three sentences It is a good school if your studying STEM major. They also have good math professors and chemistry professors. The only down side is trying to add the classes you want, there always full.

Categories Comments Food and Dining Literally, every type of restaurant located around the corner. Not to mention, 3 very well stocked student stores on campus.
Dorm Life No dorms.
Tips for prospective students Make sure to register for classes as soon as they are made available to you through the online student information system. Strive to get to know professors on a personal level, as that will broaden the aid made available to you and possibly influence your overall major choice.
In three sentences Being a relatively small and underfunded community college located in a not so great area, does not obstruct or limit the quality of education at ELAC. Quite the contrary, you find professors passionate about each student, willing to sacrifice time and whatever necessary, in order to aid them in preserving their motivation and succeed. I would definitely recommend this college to anyone not wishing to start off at a four-year, as it will orient you and ultimately get you on the right path for achieving your educational goals.

Categories Comments Campus Safety There are Sheriffs roaming the campus almost all the time. Unfortunately there is a baseball field that is being used as a parking lot with no lights. I got my truck stolen in this lot last semester.
Clubs and Activities Sports are easy to get into and participants are very friendly. Clubs and activities are not as accessible as I imagined.
Great for these types of students Great for students right out of High School. Asian students that traveled across the ocean learn. Students that want to achieve a fast and inexpensive education.
Bang for the buck You get good credits and almost all classes are UC transferrable. Very close to towns like Alhambra, Pasadena, East Los Angeles, Downtown Los Angeles, Eagle Rock, Glendale.
What to do for fun You can take your laptop, plug it in to the million sockets at school and zone out. You can also go to the library, the gym, or even to the photography lab downstairs (my favorite).
Food and Dining The food and dining on school campus are not that great. Food and dining around the school campus are excellent and at walking distance.
Dorm Life I live 10 minutes away. I do know that the living expenses nearby are exaggerated. It's not in the prettiest neighborhood and housing is a little expensive.
Academic Rigor You will find some classes fairly easy, but generally all classes require an extra effort for the A. Good school and decent course selection for transferring to a University.
Tips for prospective students Make sure you do everything ON TIME and you will be golden. Anything turned in late will hurt you academically and overall. Don't worry about anything but learning and doing your work.
In three sentences Not enough classes. Fun professors and nice students. Not enough student services.

Great for these types of students ELAC is a very diverse campus and is great for all types of students.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus ELAC recently celebrated their first annual gay pride festival.
Bang for the buck Professors understand textbooks are expensive and will give alternative options so students can spend as little as possible.
What to do for fun The campus is undergoing construction at the moment so there is not a lot of options as far as how you spend your free time on campus.
Food and Dining There is a food truck on campus. Across the street from campus there are a lot of fast food options.
Dorm Life There is no dorm life available.
Academic Rigor Professors at ELAC prepare their courses in order to be ready for the next journey in a Cal State or University.
Tips for prospective students ELAC offers a lot of opportunities for new students. The professors are very helpful and will point you in the right direction.

Categories Comments Campus Safety The campus has a 24 hour campus patrol and the East Los Angeles Police Department is also stationed on campus, thereby providing an extra level of safety. The campus is a very well lit environment and provides a level of service that is comfortable to work and study. The Police Department has also collaborated with the college in training students who are interested in being involved with law enforcement.
Greek Life Being that East Los Angeles College is a community college it doesnâ??t offer those kinds of amenities.
Clubs and Activities The college has a large selection of clubs varying from mathematics to art. Being one of the largest community colleges in California it opens the doors for a more diversified college community, thereby offering more clubs or activities that can stimulate every individual.
Great for these types of students The college has an outstanding program for students majoring in Art or Architecture. The Vincent Price Art Museum located on campus has a large selection of exclusive art work from Pablo Picasso and Vincent Van Gogh to name a few, as well as local up and coming artists. The museum has the largest collection of art from all community colleges in California; one can say that the museum is a great vessel of knowledge that can supplement the education of students majoring in Art and inspire others. The Architecture Department is a great program, which augments the studentâ??s perception of architecture and transforms an average student into a student competing against universities like USC and UCLA. East Los Angeles College Architecture Department has also beat out other local universities and community colleges in prestigious architectural competitions.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus East Los Angeles College not only serves the students, but the local surrounding communities. On weekends the college opens its doors for swap meets and the opportunity for families to come together to spend time with one another.
Bang for the buck Due to the nation economic situation the Los Angeles Community College District has increased tuition fees, which hinders students like me in pursuing a higher level of education. Thanks to programs like EOP & S (Extended Opportunity Programs & Services), they give an opportunity of success to local students, by providing books and materials for students in need.
What to do for fun When not doing homework students can see the seasonal football, soccer and basketball games that are fairly popular on campus. The college also has an Olympic size indoor pool in which the students can take advantage of; the pool is also open year around. Other recreational activities include a gym, two indoor basketball courts and an arcade. The college hosts the rivalry, between two high schools in East Los Angeles, which has become a tradition that has embedded itself in the community. The game is seen as the Super bowl game for East Los Angeles, the tradition that dates back generations.
Food and Dining Currently the campus is under a phase of constructing a brand new cafeteria and other dinning establishments. Being that East Los Angeles College has a growing number of students attending, other eating establishments have flocked around the campus to satisfy the needs of the students.
Dorm Life Being that the college is a community college unfortunately dorms are not available for students.
Academic Rigor The strong work ethic and dedication of the student body pushes the college to compete against higher level institutions. The collaborative effort on campus increases the network of cross-curricular integration of creativity and critical thinking that provides durable skills and knowledge.
Tips for prospective students Take advantage of all the services that East Los Angeles College has to offer. The college provides free tutoring services for almost every subject. Get involved in a club at school and make a difference in your community. College isnâ??t just a place for learning, but an environment for you to grow and mature as an individual and contribute to society.
In three sentences The college is an environment that is committed in helping you transition to the next level for a higher education. Its large body of diversity exposes students to new perspectives that contribute to individual growth. In essence East Los Angeles College is a place in which you can start at and go anywhere.

Categories Comments Campus Safety I cannot really have a stand on this, because I rarely see any police...but there has not been violence or any related issue in the years I have attended ELAC.
What to do for fun There are many clubs available to join. But that cannot be fun for all, just a few minutes talking to peers is an entertaining part of college.
Food and Dining No cafeteria whatsoever. There is a lunch truck that is on campus almost everyday. The story also has some snacks. Fast food restaurants are located near the campus- for students who want food to go!
Dorm Life There are no dorms in ELAC - it is ridiculous that we have to pay for room and board and it is the most expensive utility that students have to pay.
Academic Rigor Once you are caught cheating or plagiarizing , that is the end of your educational career.
Tips for prospective students Make sure to do all the paper work one or two months before any term begins. Make sure to have all the paper work needed when applying at the Admissions of Financial Aid office. Do not get hurt if some of the faculty or students do not give you the information needed; just ask other people. Also, keep track of registration appointments for each term. Apply to as many programs as you can- there are great programs that help students succeed in college. Apply to scholarships, do not always depend on family or the government to pay for school! Remember to earn high grades, regardless if you are transferring to an University or not. DO NOT procrastinate!!
In three sentences The campus is decent and improving very year. There are great instructors- as well as lousy ones. Downside is that there are fewer classes available every semester and available classes are completely full - or may have exceeded the total number of students.

Great for these types of students Engineering students, such as myself, transferring to CSULA, as many of the lower division classes can be completed at ELAC
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus None that I know of.
Bang for the buck The price of tuition has increased significantly over the past couple years, but it is still cheaper then going to a university. if you can get a fee waiver or financial aid then the price is irrelevant.
What to do for fun I am a working father, so I do not socialize at school.
Food and Dining The only cafeteria that I have seen at ELAC is a catering truck and a couple hot dog carts
Dorm Life There are no dorms in ELAC
Academic Rigor I wish that the classes were a little more challenging. I think that the laziness of students these days has forced the teachers to simplify their curriculum.
Tips for prospective students Register early, check the locations of classes and times as the school is pretty large, and a lot of the chairs are cracked
In three sentences Very well rounded in its academic programs, with several new buildings and facilities. ELAC offers several courses in its core classes and if one registers on time, they will almost certainly get the class they request.

Categories Comments Campus Safety There are sherrifs patrolling the school in their little golf carts and they also have an office in the campus. However, the people are friendly and there are no problems.
Greek Life None. It's a community college!
Clubs and Activities Think of a club? Got it? We probably have it.
Great for these types of students I would recommend it if you're still unsure as to what you want to major in because you can get your general eds out of the way. If the student has financial problems or they want to save money. Otherwise, it's good for anyone.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus There really aren't any odd places to hang about in the school but you will definitely have options as to where to go.
Bang for the buck If you're a full time student and you're documented, you' re in for free with a few student fees that do not surpass $20. Now, you may be in here for two years or less and if you want to transfer, you just saved maybe like $80, 000 because you have gotten your freshman and sophomore year out of the way. Congratulations!
What to do for fun There are a number of clubs available to join. Otherwise, you'll probably be very busy with your coursework.
Food and Dining There are a lot of small restaurants to go to. One of the most popular being Cook's Tortas, but if you're more traditional, there are two shopping centers filled with places to eat. If you're able to drive a little further, your options are unlimited.
Dorm Life There is none.
Academic Rigor I have taken honors courses and online courses so I base my judgement on this. The teachers are great and I know that people say, pfft, it's ELAC. Well, it's still challenging and your professors are really helpful.
Tips for prospective students If you can, I would suggest getting honors courses because they are easy and they look great if you're planning on transferring. I would also suggest that you take advantage of the online courses. Don't forget to talk to a counselor, tell them about what you're planning to major in so you both can develop an academic plan to transfer to your dream school.
In three sentences It is really easy to apply. You can get your classes needed to transfer but it's a little hard on the first semester because you do not get priority. There is a lot of help for documented and undocumented students if you ask for it.

Academic Rigor This college is not a top tier college and neither are its academic standards. Although, some classes can be challenging and very demanding. Like all colleges, some classes and majors will be more demanding than others.
Tips for prospective students Apply early, register even faster. Classes here tend to fill rather quickly, most likely due to budget cuts, and it would be a pity to be left out of a needed class. Categories Comments What to do for fun Seeing that it is a community college there are not a whole lot of options like universities offer. However there are always sporting events going on as well as theatrical plays and improvs.
Food and Dining There are many options for students to choose from around the campus. If you have a mind set of a health guru there is a subway across the street from school and many tea restaraunts. Craving some comfort food? Well the school truck offers burgers, fries, fish, tacos and more! Not to sure what you want or are on a budget? Clubs and Activities One of the largest community colleges, clubs and activities is one of the important things in a student's life. There is a lot of involvement in clubs in which I personally am involved and also constantly active in activities. It is a great experience and a good way to meet many students who have the same goals as you also.

Dorm Life Sadly I do not dorm, and there are no dorms in this community college or any for that matter, I believe.
Academic Rigor I will have to say that I like most of my peers did not find school easy and when transitioning to a college setting work became tough. There are many instructors who will push you constantly to see how devoted you are and many hope to see you succeed. Tips for prospective students First and most importantly, when you begin any school you have to learn to ask questions and search for answers. Categories Comments Food and Dining There is a student store but it is on the pricey side. I recommend going to the dollar store,CVS, Rite Aid or any other nearby stores if you want to buy a snack. If you can't or don't have time then the student store is your best bet. There are a lot of food places around. You can eat burgers, Hawaiian food, tacos, pizza, Chinese, etc.
Dorm Life There are no dorms at ELAC.
Academic Rigor Class room can be packed with students. It is hard to get a math or English class if you are not already registered. Some teachers are interesting and the teacher keeps it fun. The classes are sometimes tough and some are fairly easy.
In three sentences It is in a great location with plenty of between and after class activities. It is sometimes a difficult process to start but one you get the hang of it it's easy. Classes could be a little more user friendly.

Categories Comments Campus Safety The campus has a sheriff station located on campus, and it is located in a calm neighborhood. You can often find officers patrolling the campus so you don't have to worry about safety. I feel that this is one of the safer campuses in the greater Los Angeles area.
Clubs and Activities The are a wide variety of clubs available, and the seriousness and opportunities provided the them also vary. I have seen many clubs provide guest speakers and workshops related to their interests. There are definitely many great clubs on campus!
Great for these types of students The faculty responds greatly to motivated students who show an interest in what they are learning. If you are timid, you will find the atmosphere here greatly encouraging. No matter set backs you have had, as long as you are determined, here you will feel as though you can reach whatever academic goal you have set for yourself.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus There is an art museum located on the campus. Major construction work is currently taking place.
Bang for the buck Make the most out of the time and money you are spending here. If you take the education seriously, the opportunities will follow.
What to do for fun There are many clubs to search for students who share similar interests. These clubs often organize social events and take trips to the beach or the closest theme parks. The best thing you can do in this part of the city is form a network of friends to go out with.
Food and Dining As a community college Elac does not have a cafeteria. Fortunately there happens to be a Carl's Jr and Taco Bell right across the street. There are also many other big chain restaurants around the Atlantic Square Plaza, which is just adjacent to the campus, such as IHOP and Carrows.
Academic Rigor The numerous course listings and faculty provide a broad range of academic rigor. There are many courses maintained by instructors to sufficiently prepare you to transfer to a 4 year institution with rigorous academic standards. For students who do not have extensive time to invest, there are instructors who maintain a flexible course load for part time workers.
Tips for prospective students Elac provides many opportunities for motivated students. As such it pays to go out of your way to discover all of the opportunities available to you as soon as you step onto the campus. After all, you wouldn't want to discover a program that was designed to help students just like you to reach your educational goal during your last term at the school!
In three sentences East Los Angeles College provides numerous opportunities for motivated students looking to transfer to a 4-year university despite the many hardships and setbacks often faced by community college students. Many useful resources are available to assist students in their academics. The majority of the faculty help create a very supportive and encouraging atmosphere.
